Zutchy: And one entity we shall remain and posterity shall prove you right Mr President, ride on we are solidly behind you.Correct person... We are together on that! |
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has said that Nigeria will remain a single entity, noting that hisgovernment would not succumb to the pressure of overseeing the disintegration of the country. The president made this remark at the emir's palace in Hadejia, Jigawa State, when he paid the emir a courtesy visit on the first day of his two- day working visit to the state. According to him, “those clamouring for the division of the country are myopic because it will not be.” He further said that he was ready to use everything within his power to make Nigeria one country. The president also vowed to transform the country through his government's reform programmes. He stated that, “we are out to transform and develop Nigeria by all means based on the transformation agenda,” adding that, “we shall stabilise power, uplift the status of our road networks to global standard.” He also commended the state governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, for the security measures adopted to make the state peaceful. Meanwhile, President Jonathan has stated that government would only succeed when there’s cordial relationship between the three arms of government. He said this in Dutse while commissioning the multibillion naira state secretariat. He, however, noted that when the legislature is easily manipulated by the executive, it would notonly become irresponsible to the electorate, but would make government to lose focus and finishits term without adding value to people’s lives. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/50485-jonathan-vows-to-keep-nigeria-one |

THE Justice Research Center has hailed the conduct of the July 14, 2012 governorship election in Edo State, describing the out come of the election as a solid reflection of the will of the people of the state. In a statement on the re-election of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of the Action Congress of Nigeria, the organisation said the outcome of the election had helped in the process of institutionalising the sanctity of the electoral ballot in Nigeria. The statement signed by the chairman of the Centre, Mr. Inwalomhe Donald, noted that “unlike in Nigeria ’s previous elections, particularly the pre-2011 elections where dead voters and votes held sway, the Edo State election voters and votes were not robotically created. “Oshiomhole polled 477, 488 votes to win second term , the Edo election is demographically and scientifically incontestable. It also passed the litmus test of common sense.” The statement however regretted the “refusal of the losers of the election to accept defeat even when the facts were clear and credible, describing it as unhealthy for the democratic process. “Today, for reasons of parochial and material interests, defeated politicians, their slaves and others have refused to adopt the natural and universal best parameters for determining credible polls and their results,” it stated. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/10/edo-poll-returned-the-sanctity-of-the-ballot-research-center/ |

Why are some parts of the post looking like a poem? |
While her style, lyrics and vocals were widely panned to unanimous negative reviews, I learned something instrumental (no pun intended) from her. 1. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF: While I may not know her, and haven’t listened to her debut, I think it takes a high level of self belief to take a chance on yourself. When last did you take a chance on you? 2. JUST DO IT: Don’t talk about it, be about it! My brother, Pastor Jerry sent his broadcast this morning and said ‘There is only one time that is important in life;It is NOW! NOW is the most important time because it is the only time we have any Power over. Have a sense of urgency over your destiny!’ Are you still saying I WILL DO IT or can you say like my fave female rapper, Eva, I DON DID IT! Year don nearly end o! 3. HAVE RESULTS & PEOPLE WILL TALK ABOUT YOU!: Nobody celebrates you for a great idea you haven’t made happen! During the last 24 hours, Tonto Dike has been the subject of national conversation; from Blackberry broadcasts to mentions and TRENDING on Twitter. (And for a ‘celebrity’ (from the root word, celebrate), fame or notoriety is pretty much everything). I wonder how many thousand times her song has been downloaded, shared, blue toothed and broadcast? Think about it. Imagine if she was being paid N100 per download…hm. Where’s YOUR SONG, YOUR BOOK? Where the EVIDENCE of YOUR LIFE? Who’s talking about YOU? So, back to Tonto’s Music. Good music? Bad music? The jury is out. You decide. The bottom line is YOU COULDN’T IGNORE HER! And for that, she has EARNED MY RESPECT! http://www.ynaija.com/just-do-it-3-lessons-you-should-learn-from-tonto-dikehs-music-adventure/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |
Lets atleast have this story for fun besides El-rufai doesn't have credibility so why do we need one for this story to be allowed to breath? If its a rumor...then there should be an element of truth lurking somewhere. ![]() |
Wait o! you guys did not know he has been lying since? see gbege. Black mamba is on point. NEXT! |
Lagos State government has suspended the implementation of the controversial law restricting container laden trucks from moving on the roads within the state from 6am to 9pm. Vanguard gathered that the state government had made attempts to commence the implementation of the law a few weeks back, but truckers resisted the move by withdrawing their services. Vanguard also gathered that the action resulted in build up of containers at the port which led to the intervention of the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) that went to meet with the state government on the issue. Confirming this to Vanguard, Chairman of the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), Chief Remi Ogungbemi, said the state government actually wanted to implement the new law which restricts the movement of container laden trucks to between 9pm to 6am, but it was resisted by AMATO members until the management of NPA intervened. Ogungbemi said a stakeholders’ meeting was convened by the Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar, where it was agreed that the problem being a national one should be handledat that level. He said that the meeting called by the Minister had all the various stakeholders from Terminal Operators, NPA, Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), all the truckers associations e.t.c in attendance. He also disclosed that they recently held a meeting with the state government, where the governor, Babatunde Fashola, told them that it ishis duty to implement all laws by the State Assembly. The various truckers associations, AMATO, National Association of Truck Owners (NATO), Coalition of Seaport Truckers (COST) and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) recently met to expressed their concernover the security implication of the implementation of the new law. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/10/lagos-suspends-restriction-of-trucks-movement/ |
