FamilyRe: Someone Should Pls Explain This Picture Story. by Standing5(m): 8:55am On Aug 21, 2024
madridguy:
1. My own interpretation simply means, the father as the head of the family doing everything possible for his family ( wife and children ) to be happy.

2. A father protecting his family, putting his own head down for the safety of his family. i.e, if anyone trying to attack a family, the father will be the one to receive the bullet for his family.

To cap it all, na all this sacrifice dey make man die quick.
The father(Tinubu) is indeed sacrificing the children (poor masses) as we can all see.

The picture shows a hammer applying economic pressure to humans(nails) who instead of yielding by going into the wood(harsh economic conditions) are being disfigured (hunger/ malnutrition). Yet the wicked hammer refuses to stop hitting.
PoliticsWith Under-recovery Of 50%, Why Do Marketers Want Dangote To Sell At N600? by Standing5(op): 8:50am On Aug 21, 2024
NNPCL says there is under recovery that brings petrol pump prices much lower than actual landing cost but marketers are harassing Dangote and poisoning the mind of the masses with hopes of N600/litre of petrol.

Why has the NNPCL kept silent all along?

Nigeria is a strange place my people.
PoliticsRe: NNPC Is The Cabal by Standing5(m): 9:31am On Jul 23, 2024
Out refineries can work in one month if the canal want it to.
With the way things are, even if it manages to work, they can always underreport the true level of production and divert the rest claiming that the plant are old and thus inefficient. The solution is to sack every living thing in those refinery.

Can that family of 5 produce 70k-100k worth of goods or services every week? That should be the real issue.

We feel too entitled most times.

PoliticsGoing by Naira Defence, Did Nigeria Ever Merited Africa's Largest Economy Tag? by Standing5(op):
Doing simple maths with our propped up Naira value then and now, we see a Naira that was supported to exchange for around N450 artificially sharply move to around N1550 after floating.

The above means we magnified our actual size by around 3.5 times all the while we were claiming to be the biggest in Africa. We weren't even in the top 5 in Africa.

Saying we were once Africa's biggest economy was very inaccurate. All the time the average Nigerian was reported to be surviving on around $2/day, it was actually around $0.55/day without the exchange rate altering Naira defence in place.

I wonder what Nairalanders think.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Talks About The Economy by Standing5(m): 3:49pm On Jul 22, 2024
The idea of a big economy was rigged.

You take dollar from crude sales and forcefully use it to bring naira to a dollar rate to N450 when same Naira could have gone for around N1600 it currently is going for. That means we expanded the value of our economy by 3.5 and were never really Africa's largest economy or even in the top 5. Obi is impressing only some dull brain in fixed deposit of political loyalty.

PoliticsRe: Why Can't FG Fix Refineries And Sideline Dangote? - Agbakoba by Standing5(m): 1:59pm On Jul 22, 2024
Exactly. Fix them and end the idea of monopoly on the spot. But they are liars who wont do what they are suppose to because they are the beneficiaries of the comatose refineries.
PoliticsRe: Constitution Empowers FG To Take Over Dangote Refinery – Sagay by Standing5(m): 12:17pm On Jul 22, 2024

“Of course, he also wants monopoly because if they don’t import now and there is no other local source of production, he will total monopoly and can dictate the price. That is really frightening”.

“We are in a state of emergency. The cost of living in Nigeria now is too high. Anything that can be done to bring down the cost of living will calm the mood of the people. The suffering is just too much”.
Suddenly they realize there is hardship when opportune to make a scapegoat out of a businessman.
Why not fix the refineries under you instead of poking nose into private affair.
If Dangote cant get crude, where will public refineries get any to refine if the manage to work?
PoliticsRe: Constitution Empowers FG To Take Over Dangote Refinery – Sagay by Standing5(m): 12:11pm On Jul 22, 2024
Sheuns:
Someone invested his money into a venture and you expect him not to think of making profits?

Why can’t Mr. Sagay invest his money into garri production and sell at 300 naira a paint to help the masses.

The government put the masses in a mess and you expect a business man to come clear the mess he is also experiencing as well?

If the government can pay subsidy on imported fuel, why not allow Dangote refinery refine crude and pay him that subsidy instead. At least the money remains in the country.
They forgot that the govt have four refineries under them that can cancel out any perceived monopoly from Dangote. This whole desperation is driven by two things. Greed of those in power for personal gain and Need to offset the financial pressure they find the system in.
PoliticsRe: Constitution Empowers FG To Take Over Dangote Refinery – Sagay by Standing5(m): 12:02pm On Jul 22, 2024
These people have been looking for who to rob to keep our sharing structure running. First the dead. Then dormant accounts, then retirees via pension, then loans choked, then Binance kidnap, then google data breach wuruwuru fine, now na Dangote refinery that want to hijack and run abi na rundown?
These people deserve more than stones walahi.

“The way I see Dangote and the way he operates, he is waiting to maximise the price. I also think the reason Dangote is not happy is because the price has not risen up to N1,000 per litre. He was waiting for that to happen but it is not happening”.
Whoever made this comment needs deep psychiatric evaluation. As long as prices have been deregulated and Dangote is not forcing anyone to buy, he is not doing any wrong.
Their eyes are on that refinery. This is the result of unchecked witchcraft policy and structure.

They refused to diversify and instead probed for more oil as diversification strategy. Today agbado+cassava remains elusive despite abundant idle and willing hands to cultivate them. Corruption spares nothing.
A point may be reached each village is allocated their own few drums of oil to go and refine with firewood.

Ahmed Farouq didn't talk like a government official... The wyere don make Dangote vex grin
his talk aligns perfectly with and exposes the pattern of corruption holding us back in oil.
The issue here is a rotten head in form of the president. He was close to Buhari for rigging of election as far back as 2022 so should know the refinery they have used to campaign for decades needs local crude to benefit the economy.
He is pretending.

The rest of us in Nigeria, did we come to this world to serve Dangote ?

He is hitting 70, only you the sell cement to the whole country.

Only you want to sell diesel and petrol to the whole country.

At the rate we are going we have to pray for him not to enter water and oxygen business.

I get it, he is an avid business man, but the optics do not look good. Especially knowing fully well some of the money used to build that refinery was definitely sourced from Nigerian coffers through Elemiefiele (former CBN governor).

If he is not expecting any concessions from Nigerian crude Oil, let him buy international crude and sell Petrol to international community or have Nigerian government buy from him.

Do you really thing Asiwaju invested over billion of dollars to win election, just to hand over the crown jewel of Nigerian economy(Petrol procurement) to Dangote, just like that.

Playing devils advocate: Land is Lagos, Crude oil is Niger delta, Capital for financing was most likely Emelefiele sourced, Refinery Pollution is Lagos, Owner Kano.

There is no country in the world with its energy tied to 1 single individual

PROFITS 100% DANGOTE.
This is the mentality that has kept us in witchcraft stronghold and absolutely backwards for ages. For Decades, govt fumbled and we all suffered. If govt does not like his business vantage, they should at least cough up 50% of the refinery and buy him out. They are broke and cant do that but leave governance alone to be chasing a businessman. They all want to compete with Dangote by stealing from govt coffers.

You tried but truth in full is nothing good is easy in Nigeria and not just business.
That refinery stands to ruffle so many institutionalized corrupt practices in place today. The painful part is the head of country who seems satisfied with Dangote bending to absorb the impact of the corrupt force in place.
