Is it only ASUU that is union in this country? This tells you that ASUU does not care about the students as they often claim . The government is weak and inept hence ASUU is taking that advantage. Will lecturers tolerate half of what the government is tolerating if students union were to press for legitimate demands in the universities. I know by now they would have clipped the students union 's wing.
What is more painful is that after the strike this government will pay them for the months they did not work. ASUU has now adopted strike as means for going on annual vacation whenever they have stocked enough money.
Let every one know that other unions are watching from the sidelines to see how everything will be resolved because what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

Let me ask you in all sincerity, if you were the president of this country, considering how oil production has plummeted, many states owing salary, will you as a president sign such salary increase? Don't even tell me about the 1.4 billion naira assistance to Niger republic , because that is a paltry sum when put side by side with the financial

Let us even assume the FG can afford all that, what about the states, can they replicate such in the state universities?
Since the agitations, what has been ASUU 's compromise to show their patriotism. No one is holding brief for the government because they also have their fault and they know it.

Please ASUU and the government should come to a middle ground because this strike is already a violation of students right. For how long can this strike go on without resolution. Is there no law that protects students? If we should stretch this argument it means that this stand - off can continue for God knows when and at the end of everything, ASUU will be paid a backlog of what they did not work for. I can assure you that most of the professors have taken up other jobs which okay, but at the end it is the student and tax payers money that suffers for all this.
