In my opinion, 24 is fair..

You'll just need to explain at the visa interview what you habe been doing after you graduated from secondary school.
The answer is pretty straight forward.

I went for a first degree.
And I want a second one in a different field.
Engineering to be precise.

What about an undergraduate degree?
How feasible is it to get a second undergraduate degree at the age of 24 in the US?

I forgot to write, the internet bill came in for September and modem rental bill was again included. Jipitit people, they charge for that shi monthly!

After the first month, you will forget the massive data allowance an just concentrate and enjoy the steady availability and efficient service.

It is always cheaper to go through the masters route, paying 4 years of UG is a lot of money except you garrit - plenty money I mean.
As is usually said here, age is a determining factor when you go to the embassy irrespective of what they write on their site. They would always ask what you have been doing all these years that you are just seeking to go for UG studies.

Most UG students here are below 20 years, your plan isn't an impossible one though but I would say conclude your HND and apply for masters after transcript evaluation with WES and here siblings.
What if its a second undergraduate degree

I used to think it was just for college students.
Opemipo that's Joda, Tunde both from CSC. The other guy; Victor from CPE. I'm from Marine.

And yeah goldman has not just for IT but also for high schoolers, Post grads too.

May you not waste the credit you've been called with!

At the emboldened, it's good to see you're following a career path that would benefit you a lot.

You'd learn quite a lot being that you're in the UK, I'd say you probably get closer to some of the students who might have been coding. Some of them have been coding since they were young, once met an 18 yo boy who has been coding since 13. Meet up with them, see how you can get better so that once you get into college, it becomes easier for you.

However, no school will teach you hacking lol, at least not in the context we know hacking as. Don't raise your expectations but you'd be grateful for the chance to learn topics like algorithms and data structures, compiler construction, etc in a more quality way.

I know you're not in college now, I'd advice you start working towards a top school in the UK. You could check for some online, they have a higher acceptance rate compared to Stanford (4.9%) and other top US schools for CS. Kindly do your research well and make us proud here in Nigeria.

To round off, there are more companies that should be willing to offer you internships, you could check out some companies and see their requirements. If it's the summer internship, it's good. I'm not sure if they accept high school guys but you should give these internships a shot. It'd give a higher propulsion into the programming world generally.

Go bro, make us proud!
Yeah they should have summer internships for high school students. At least I'm sure of goldman sachs in the UK.

Even 3 of my friends here in Unilag from computer engineering and science got 3 months internship placement in Goldman Sachs, London.

The opportunity of getting internships is one I wish I had in my 400l.
Well make the best use of the opportunity you have now to be the best.

Yes and No.
It depends on merit and what your intentions are

If you are a young guy or gal, you stand a good chance.
If you are being sponsored by the government, you stand a great chance.
If you are an older person, or a guy in his late 20s and you claim to be going for your undergraduate degree - there is a good chance you will be denied.
If you do not indicate or show that in the previous couple of years you had either been working or schooling, good chance you will be denied.
If you are an older guy or gal and you are going for masters, phd etc you stand a good chance.
If you are an older guy or gal, and you are married, and not travelling with your partner, you stand a good chance as you still have ties to Nigeria.

So a 30 yr old dude going for his first undergraduate degree will be denied 9 times out of 10 unless he has some remarkable story to tell. They know you are probably going to get lost when you get there.
what of a 24 year old going for an undegraduate degree?

That aside, how lucrative is fish farming?
Man, I‘m currently 21, 22 on Christmas.
Spending another 5 years in a Nigerian school is tormenting.

Fish farming that's Aquaculture is sort of lucrative. The thing is the market isn't that big in Nigeria because most Nigerians tend not to consume locally bred fish like catfish.

But practicing fisheries is out of it for me, i t's more than the money. It's more of fulfilment, passion and interest and I've got Zero interest for either mbbs or fisheries or biologicals generally.
Travel / What's The Best Decision To Take As I'm About Graduating? by stealthtiger(m): 12:06pm On Jan 11, 2019
Hi!
I'm a fisheries undergraduate from Marine Science department, Faculty of Science, University of Lagos. I'll be graduating this october. I've got interest in Computer, Systems Engineering and also computer science fields. I wanted to study one of these courses then but family pressure made me opt in for mbbs of which I didn't get (though I'm happy about that) rather I got fisheries.
Since then I haven't been happy because I believe that I would have done better if I was allowed to study engineering.
Now on the verge of graduation, I've been nursing the idea of getting a second bachelors in Computer or Systems Engineering. The time factor is a big constraint preventing from going back. In fact I'll be 26 years by the time of the second degree graduation and that can happen if I don't do the NySC thing immediately after my first degree.

So I'm considering getting a post graduate diploma in CS and thereafter a Masters in US or Canada.

Is it then possible for a graduate in Fisheries to go for a Masters program in CS or Engineering in the US or Canada?
And does the idea of going back to school for a second bachelors make sense?

Please I need answers

Now my observation on my schoolmate

* there is a song we use to sing in Assembly in 9JA

higher Higher..
Every day ...
I lift my Jesus higher...
Everyday .... X2

SOME KIDS WERE HIGH ON WEED... Smoking and selling weed is banned in school premises, but some will not hear.
The teacher told us that he is trained in detecting weed smokers and those caught will be suspended.

*Everyone looks and acts matured here, most girls plastered their faces in make up and dressed like they were on a red carpet, will crazy hair styles.

Guys wore chains, rings, ear rings, tattoo , colored hair e. T. C ( I am going to risk my life and see if I can plait my hair without my mom killing me).

* the Hive (lunch room) was filled with kids acting blue film in my front .

* Everyone was speaking the accent,

* I saw some boberisky's or gay's, guys wearing makeup and walking funny

IN CLASS
*when we were asked to introduce ourselves, I said I was a Nigerian immigrant,

* the guys beside me were asking me questions in order to hear my accent ,

* the teacher was telling his life story on how he learnt plumbing at our age started working got married had a son, the company closed down, he decided to go to university when he was 30 to study business but he dropped out because it was boring , he got a job as a coach and this is when he found his passion for teaching, then he went back to school in his mid thirties and became a teacher in prison before he got here...

He then told us not to worry if we don't have a goal yet, that our passion will come later in life..

* in class we were made to take a maths text with the computer and no calculator in order to access our level , I got 98% together with one guy, they didn't expected it grin, the questions were simple and looked like a junior secondary school 3 or 2 exam in Nigeria

Abeg lemme go and get ready because I need to leave for school in an hour or I'll miss the bus

Sure guy. Show them how proficient we Nigerians are in academics, sports etc. Next time, abeg try score 100%.

I've said it to myself that when I get to the US for my masters program nothing on this planet can stop me from being the best. I never see am.

Take it easy brozay. The guy didn't say anything bad. He just talked about Yoruba philosophy of cause and effect.
The Chinese, Indians, Greeks, Egyptians etc also have their own philosophy on how the Universe rules itself.

As long as he didn't denigrate any tribe to justify the uniqueness of his tribe he hasn't done anything wrong.

Also, any one can feel anyway about his race as long as his actions or inactions doesn't threaten others.

Rather, why can't we just transfer on-earth-produced Ozone (the Oxygen triatomic molecule O3) to replenish the fast depleting Ozone layer. That should be able to reduce the ultra Violet radiation coming from the Sun to Earth.

Most people have a very limited understanding of what blockchain (the technology behind bitcoin and altcoins) and bitcoin itself.

Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous Japanese behind bitcoin and the blockchain had a different philosophy.

It's natively a system that seeks to decentralize how money flows in the economy. The idea was to make transactions easier and cheaper by eliminating the middle men such as banks. This was to be ensured by the bitcoin miners and participants validating transactions occuring within the network.
And all these are governed by computer algorithms.

It was never intended for it to be a source of quick wealth as most people took it to be.

As a matter of fact, bitcoin, altcoins and other financial tech ideas using blockchain is just a fragment of what Satoshi Nakamoto‘s blockchain can do.

It's like blockchain to electricity as a light bulb is to bitcoin.
We haven't yet found a legitimate use of the power of decentralized ledgers.
Time will tell .
