nerilove: Nawa 4u ooo, is she the cause of the fall in oil price? Didn't you read the write-up? Many bigger countries are in the same situation. If don't know anything about the economy, ask and you shall be lectured. Don't accuse whois trying to improve your wellbeing. Why didn't the Naira appreciate when it was 'rising oil prices'? |

989900: Fall in oil prices . . . gullible answer meant for gullible people.
Why didn't the Naira appreciate when it was 'rising oil prices'?
Greatest oil plunge (prices) ever was in '08 from $147.27 to $33.55. And Naira didn't commit suicide then. Agreed there could be some drop in value of the Naira but this is tooooo much
In 1998 to early 1999, during Gen. Abdulsalami, oil price dropped to $9, exchange rate stabilized at about N88.
So, if your exchange rate was N88 with oil price at nine dollars, how can you explain that when your oil price is over $50, while claiming biggest economy in Africa, top 3 projected growth rate in the world, and your exchange rate is now N250 to $1?
How do you go about selling oil for the highest prices ever, over the longest period ever, while depleting the country's reserve from $62b to what $30b or thereabout?
You say your growth is a non-oil sector, how come that the depreciation in oil price has so much impact on your economy.
When the likes of countries like Qatar, U.A.E, Saudi and co. were busy investing both home and abroad, to secure their economies and their children's future, what were we doing? Buying 10 private jets? BlessYou ! |

The man never had any good plans for his government Ab initio. These women have hijacked his administration and he's only happy to use them as a shield. |

killerman47: OP; nice write up , I took my time to reaad; but perhaps u are youung and forgot something that transpired in d early phase of our democracy... IBB supported OBJ so much for his election in 99, after he came out of prison; when it was rumuored he had just 20.000(twenty thousand) in his acct. After all d support; oBJ went there; and piloted d affairs of d nation d way he choose, and became his own man; IBB was so relegated to d background; dat he didn't even find it easy visiting asokoro... What I'm trying to pass accross; is , donot ever assume buhari to be aa weakling(he's a soldier remember) ; he knows what his going there for, he's prepared for the job; unlike the jonathan dat got it by sheer providence and was never reaady for d Job... And BTW; who says if buhari messes up after 4yrs we cannot throw him to the bin; as we will do to jonathan.. My vote goes for buhari, for only 1 reason , and that is to proof to d politicians the people own the power, we install who we think is right... Donot forget the successful campaign against boko haram started when jonathan saw d seeming defeat from the strong opposition; dat was when he saw d need to visit the troops and other playing to d gallery gestures; that is what true democracy brings... What tends to annoy me is my fellow country men donot see d big picture in this; the shallow and myopic line of thoughts meks me puke... Its annoin. I want a better nigeriaa for my children , and that can only happen wen we mek this heartless politicians understand that, our collective interest should first prevail, or else they kis dat seat goodbye... Thank ou. Sensible post. So because you're scared Buhari doesn't know how to rule a democracy, Nigeria should continue with Doomluck ? That is a weak argument or mischief at its best. God help Buhari, if he can't find his feet as President. We will vote him out after 4 years or truncate his tenure earlier, just aa GEJ deserves to leave yesterday. Nigerians should learn to rule take charge of their leadership and hold them to account. You the people are the democracy not your leaders. From the little I've seen online, it is immaturity, sentiment and tribalism alone that would garner votes for GEJ . Should Gej win, no problem. I can never partake of the resulting disaster that will befall most Gej supporters in his second term. |
