mayor2013:An update on the issue. He later got a working sensor. Said he use it to start a Murano with the same engine and it started but still my car will not start. He really do not know what exactly could be d issue now. |
mayor2013:Name : Nissan Maxima 04 Size : 3.5 L Type : VQ35de |
Hello house: My car is not starting. The Auto mechanic said there is no sparks. He has confirmed that the camshaft position sensor, crankshaft sensor, ECU and wiring are all good. Please we want to know what else to check and what could cause the car not to start. Please I will appreciate all your contributions. Thanks. |
Please anybody has or can direct us to where to get a good working Camshaft position sensor for Nissan Maxima 04 ( Dagrin) My AutoMech has been on the look out for it for days now and I am car has been doing siddon look for going to two weeks. Any help will be appreciated. |
diportivo:The car is still there oh. I don tiya seriously !!! So many things to do forfeited. I once with him when he was doing some lengthy diagnostics. Gazzuz was right it has been the Camshaft position sensor all this while !!!! Meanwhile several days has been lost changing several ECUs which shouldnt be. Now the problem according to him is to get a working Camshaft position sensor . Going to three days search now. |
Oga Gazzuzz definitely not you ![]() We will work on this angle now. Dont know these sensors could be so problematic. Thanks a lot GAZZUZZ: |
Costee:Thanks Costee. This was left out because the car was starting and behaving almost normal with P1800 code on it. |
Very very Dumb. I doubt if u travel at all? You also try 2 bring tribalism into things another terrible and dumb move. What is afonja by the way. Do you read history at all? You lack so much in knowledge. You should at least try to read to make up for the shortfall. I wonder if people from the east still thinks as you do. You must be an aberration. Olu20090: |
mayor2013:Thanks Mayor2013. It's Dagrin 04 3.5L . Accordingly to him, he could not do the tune up. He is seriously battling to get the car running. Changing several ECUs and programming. Yes you are right, I am seriously in need of the car, it has been with him for a week and counting. |
Maybe it would have been better you did not respond because you got me all wrong. My response was based on the fact that a guy here said he did not care whether he obtained the money illegally. Sure if he gets his money through a legal means, thumbs up for him and I'm all in for that. What I am against is this idea in Africa where people dont care how guys make their money but will shower them with chieftaincy title and hail them to highest heavens. If a hard working man make money legally he should be praised and his story told to encourage others, but if it is through illegal means he should be shunned and disgraced to detest others from following same path. That is my piece my brother. And for saying people in charge are not competent, you are dead wrong some and even most are competent but got carried away with lust for money and power. And also for putting me in that category , I'll like to tell you that YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN. Waooo seems you are getting almost everything wrong but wait a minute it is weekend so it's allowed ![]() deeplow: |
Hello House, Please I really need help, contributions and advice. I have this Nissan Maxima that I parked for some months because I wasnt around. On returning, I decided to ask for advice here on nairaland what I should do prior to starting the car up because I believe in keeping the car in prime condition through maintenance and I was mostly told to change the oil. The popular nairalander automechanics(name withheld) that I went to get the oil filter from offered to send one of his boys with me to do the servicing. We also agreed that the boy will drive the car to his workshop where he will look at the car, scan it and if anything do some tune up on it. However, the boy on getting to my place took a look at the engine oil, check the car various fluids and started the car and it started once. We then drove it to the nairalander's place. He did the scanning and he found a code on the car P1800(VIAS CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE). He also said the car is running lean and that the car need some minor tune up. He promised to check everything and get back to me later in the evening. I paid him the diagnostic fee and promise to transfer money for the oil an filter to him and I left his place. To my amazement, he later called me to tell me that the car is doing intermittent start. That is, the car starts and work for a while then go off, then wont start again, then it will start and work for a while and stops and repeats this cycle. But when I was with him the car starts fine and work normal throughout the time he was doing the test. To cut the whole story short , he first said it was the cam/ crankshaft sensor but when he replaced them the problem persists. He now said it is the ECU, but they have been changing several ECU but problem persist. This whole thing is going to a week now. I am just confused, terrified and frustrated. I hav critical use for this car. I believe this guy is trying his best but I believe two heads are better than one. Please any advice, suggestion and analysis of the problem with solutions will be highly appreciated. Please I am counting on the gurus in the house to throw me a lifeline I am currently at my wits end . Please what is the issue with this car now?The car has never have this kind of starting issue before. Please so sorry for the long story is for people to have a clear idea of the situation. Thanks all in advance. |
deeplow:You are the kind of people that keep Africa backward. One keep wondering why our leader are so callous and only interested in filling their pockets, it's bcus this kind of pple exists. |
EEA1:Op pls dont mind these guys that go around bamboozling people with their laptops, and so called diagnostic tools. As you said nothing can be compared with a sound experience. They call other people Kazeems and call themselves auto technicians. They just read up all the technicalities of working of car and they know all the sensor names but when it comes to actual experience they are blank. Imagine if you have given those people chance they would have changed the car ECU and end up maiming that car permanently. My car is in a big mess now bcus of some diagnostic performed on it by one of the nairaland autotechnicians. For close to a week now he hasnt been able to solve the issue. Now the car starts and go off after staying for sometimes. He said it is the ECU and again several ECU has been changed still the same intermittent start and stops. I am so tired of Naija Mechanics now. I dont know who to trust again for perfect work. |

Folks, I have been outta town for over 4 months now. My car has been parked for those months, though I removed the battery. Please is there anything I need to do before starting the car again? Just afraid if i turn the ignition something might go wrong having being parked for such number of months. I will appreciate your nuggets on this. Thanks all in advance. |
Please somebody should give this guy a life line. No one has suggested a clear solution yet. Do anyone has a very good auto sound technician that he can contact ? Do anyone has a number of a very good person at Ladipo ? Bcus going to Ladipo all by oneself is disastrous. A lot of those guys at Ladipo who projects themselves as mechanics and auto-technician are fraud. Or has anyone done this b4. Oga Mayor2013 any solution? |
Thanks all for the contribution. The problems seems not to be from brake pad or the disc. By stroke of luck I got an insight into the problem. I was driving out early this with the usual grinding noise while braking, then suddenly, my ABS light came on together with SLIP sign on the dashboard ( VDC off has been showing before, though that seems to be coming from steering angle error. Costee helped with this before) . After the lights came on , the grinding noise while braking suddenly disappeared. Then I parked to get somethings. When I started the car again to go back home, the ABS and the SLIP did not come on and the grinding sound is back again. |
honmusa:Oga Honmusa thanks for your advice here. As for the appointment, I gave up after calling you severally and you always tell me you are busy with other works or not around. It seems u re a very busy man. |
Destined2win:Thanks for the contribution. This was the 1st point of call. I checked the pads and ask my mechanics to do the same seems they are okay |
To add to the above I drive a 04 Maxima. |
Dear Nairalander. I have been having this effect on my brakes. Sometimes when I pressed the brake pedals I will hear a grinding sound like grssshhhhh. The brake pedal is not vibrating. I have checked brake fluid , ok. Also I have had all the calipers serviced still same thing. My mechanic is suggesting that the ABS controller might be malfunctioning. He said it cant be the brake disc since the pedal is not bouncing on the legs just only the grinding noise. Please I need help on this. The noise is really frustrating. Thanks in advance. |
