Thiza:Fool. "Professional" US army did worse in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, that's a chopped off head of a boko strongman which we view with delight here. I can understand how this will pain south Africans. Y'all love dem boko boys already |
MikeCZAR:I think by now western governments and their allies know that Putin is not the type to threaten. Israel's main concern should be Russian weapons not getting to Hezbollah. |

africaken:we made mistakes bro and we've learned from it. the exceptional cameroon is gradually becoming a haven for BH displaced from Nigeria. Why do you think it is so? we could deploy our special forces to guard towns like the Cameroonians and leave the regular infantry to the barracks inexperienced so we can be exceptional too . (a typical example is konduga. a strategic town guarded by our special forces that has never fallen to boko haram despite numerous attempts), but you and i know the repercussions of that.not that i'm happy about it but you need to follow some cameroonian correspondents online to know the true happens in that country. the government controls the media so you are less likely to hear of the almost everyday attacks happening there on cnn. The BIR have started to complain of being overstretched while the regulars don't even have a clue how to handle COIN. but hey... this isn't the longest d!ck in africa contest so I'll let you have your opinion. I just feel objective analysis won't be a bad thing though. That's why I brought the attention of the need for urgent training of Cameroonian infantry in COIN tactics to relieve their special forces from playing guard duties. |
patches689:What we send overseas for advanced training are spec ops forces (that's normal since they are not so much). While regulars are trained here. Armies fail in COIN when regulars are not properly trained for it. Cameroonian BIR should not be manning road blocks for Christ sake.. They are elite for a reason. My last statement laid emphases on collateral damages. For instance, when the army has to defend densely populated towns and villages you rarely hear of high civilian casualties. (which is one of the problems of insurgency) And these regulars are trained in Nigeria by their hundreds in a short time for quick deployment. Of every country in the region, only Nigeria has the capability for that so I don't see why we shouldn't be an option. It will save cost and time. How long do you think it will take to train 1000 regulars if they are sending 60 a month(for trainings they don't need at the moment)? Something Nigeria can do in months. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1bNh6GdOHI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-wkC0-mmt8 |
patches689:you don't seem to understand my point. This is how france keeps a hold on our neighbors. give them unnecessary trainings at high cost, then roll in as the savior when the training as proved useless. the type of trainings they offer (according to your source) is irrelevant at this stage because BH has not gotten to that stage yet. speaking from experience, they have to capture territories then lay mines and IEDs to block any counter offensive. now they are just raiding villages and towns in a hit and run tactic. same way they did in Nigeria. the cameroonian army needs to graduate at least 200 trainees in COIN and FIBUA in 3 months max. so they can hold territories and defend it from attacks thereby freeing the BIR to offensive operations. i'm not starting a contest or something but it's a reality they need to deal with. Nigerian troops have fought an insurgency for 5 years with very minimal collateral damage compared to the west. if i were biya, i'd send a few hundred regulars to jaji ASAP. |
"Boko Haram said to be massing forces around Gogolom and Kangaleri. Gogolom is where they recently killed 2 cattle rearers & stole 200 goats" This is a tweet from a renowned Cameroonian investigative journalist. The Cameroonian government is not letting the media report on boko haram but from the news coming from this guy, boko haram is shifting it's operations to Cameroon. The BIR is overstretched and the regular troops are not well trained and equipped for COIN. Cameroon will do well and save a lot of cost by swallowing it's pride and seek COIN training for regular troops in Nigeria since we're fighting the same enemy. And Nigeria COIN training for it's regulars have proved to be effective. |
patches689:I can tell from your comment that you're not a gamer ![]() It was made by a gaming software company, not the PLA. Russia invaded US in COD4 and everyone just enjoyed the game. Including Americans Your response was unnecessary IMO |
patches689:Mr man. just entertain yourself for once without d1ckriding the west ![]() I bet you won't argue if it's about US invading China (as if that'll be possible) ![]() |
bidexiii:They can take samples for testing before destroying them. That's too much waste. Considering the hungry IDPs we already have. |
Henry240:The guy in the last pic be looking like "I can't wait to shoot soothing" ![]() |

frumentius:With the kind of insurgency we are faced with, I'll prefer cannons (20mm) mounted on them. More firepower with more ammo. |
patches689:i guess you missed the part where your mates doubted the possibilities of any of our transport helos armed with missiles. canons was their preferred option. |
Henry120:good thing you posted this. if i had said it since last week the south africans would have insisted on a canon as if weaponizing a transport helo is rocket science. |
shizzy7:You are wrong. DSS main responsibility is internal security & intelligence. While NIA deals with foreign intelligence. I think this is a good news not minding how the media wants to paint it. because it shows our intelligence agencies are not sleeping and trying very hard to contain BH to their state of origin (borno). That's not an easy task but they are secretly doing it and succeeding. |
patches689:And my source clearly proves your military was clueless when they entered Lesotho. Unlike your claim of PERFECTION. SANDF didn't even go in with a clear objective. They didn't even know what rout to take nor where to go.According to the same source. And your blatant lie of restoring peace in 48 hrs is clearly not in my source you compulsive liar. So if you gladly want to use my source as your evidence I'll advise you read it carefully and realize you just turned your gun on yourself ![]() Dunderhead |
patches689:No citations = troll |
lezz:I didn't even know what to say. The guy lies without evidence against a proven fact that all didn't go well as claimed. Typical lying patch |
DieVluit:Nahh.. Dude went spying on me after taking a whooping and didn't hide it. Who would forget a wierdo like that. |
patches689:Lying patchman. Will you ever stop lying? Soon after the SADC intervention, named Operation Boleas, began, the miscalculations were evident. The SANDF sent in about 600 soldiers to engage at least 2 000 members of what was known as a rebellious LDF contingent, which boasted strong support from armed civilians. The SANDF also had no clue of the routes to most of its targets. The army is reported to have driven to the Lesotho Sun hotel, in the opposite direction of its intended target of King Letsie III’s royal palace. The SANDF had to rely on journalists to tell it how many palace gates there were. SANDF commanders had said there was one palace entrance, instead of three. By the time the SANDF had managed to identify its targets, the LDF was already briefed about the SANDF’s presence and capabilities, and had prepared itself for an onslaught. LDF members boast they knew about the impending attack as early as last week. As a result, the SANDF was caught unawares - also about the extent of the resistance the LDF and civilians could put up. So far, nine SANDF members have been killed - a figure disputed by the LDF as conservative - and many more were wounded. Realising the situation was getting out of control, SANDF commanders were forced to bring in reinforcements to root the rebel Basotho soldiers and armed civilians out of Maseru. On Wednesday, LDF members consistently fired on SANDF patrols in a display of power and determination. The frustrated SANDF fired warning shots that were quickly returned. A few hours later, the SANDFbegan assaulting citizens who were looting the city centre. Said an injured SANDF sergeant: “It is true that the situation here is much tougher than we thought it would be. It is complicated. We have suffered casualties, http://mg.co.za/article/1998-09-25-sandfs-chaotic-invasion Next time you make claims/tell lies, provide evidence ![]() |
mzilakazi:Did you just save his pic on your pc/phone? #GAY #TROLLING You know.. One thing about internet wars is that the moment you start to search an opponent's profile to use against him, you've taken a big L already. Reminds me of the legendary troll.. CrayB Lezz must be doing some damage to you zulus over here |
Litmus:It's your low self esteem that blinds you from reality my boy. It's not just about this thread. Every photo or video recently posted online serve the same purpose. Changing the narrative to an effective fighting force not minding the imperfections. Let's not forget the purpose of this argument Litmus:Your grouse is the way your army chose to jubilate. Not about the uniforms or kitting. Just the chants and dancing was your complain. Go back and read your own post maybe you didn't think it through before posting. Just read your comment again and you'll realize you have self esteem problem. And you keep contradicting yourself. First you love the haka dance (which is a tribal dance also). You like how they flaunt it to the world right? And you like the Nigerian way too. But in turn you feel the local dance and chanting of the Nigerian army is barbaric, bushman like and should be removed from public view because.... ? Do you see the contradictions? You probably realized you shot yourself in the foot and are trying to save face. |
Litmus:And get your small mind manners out of here if you don't like it. The purpose of a thread like this is to show the world that the Nigerian military despite international unfair critics is getting better in equipments and training. And are confronting the enemy and winning as wrongly reported in the media. Not how neat they look on frontlines... Only a rookie ITK like you will expect otherwise. A few videos of soldiers jubilations (in their mother tongue and dance) does not make it unprofessional you dimwit. That you would say we sell a fake perception of perfection when we are not, and call the real US bushman like shows how shallow you reason. If you consider that bushman like, then my small minded friend... You need to watch the HAKA WAR DANCE by the new Zealand army. Even the prince of England had to go learn it. But noooooo... It is what Africans do that shouldn't be accepted. You have serious complex issues my friend. Get it fixed and don't derail this thread. |
Litmus:Bwahahahahahahaha... Guy, just go work on yourself. |
Litmus:No.you just jeep confusing yourself further by using illustrations to defend your inferiority complex. Read your Bolden comment again and tell me you're not trying to contradict yourself. Because your criticism was about the way your troops chose to jubilate (which is African). Did you know the Scottish army wear kilts(skirts)? Would you call that bush man like because it's not your thing? Abeg, park well. You are very FAKE |
africaken:These arab militaries need to spend a lot more on training than buying equipments they don't need. |
Litmus:Try to get help you this inferior black man. Did you know US marines display their gang signs signs on the walls of their bases in Iraq and Afghanistan? ( a culture that informs their behavior Did you know they also jubilated when bush visited them? So if a white man tells you your traditional dance and song is a primitive and bushman like behaviour you would answer 'YES MASTER' He's right. You are FAKE. INFERIOR BLACK MAN. No sense of pride in you at all. Shame ![]() |
Litmus:A legit complain would have been uniformity in camo. Your assertion of them being bushmen because of the way they chose to celebrate their victory(which is typical with most Nigerian tribes) shows your level of inferiority complex. What is wrong with their jubilation. Does everything have to be modeled after the way white men do? Where is your sense of pride mr man? Most you guys after watching Hollywood movies start to make immature comparisons over irrelevances. |
Dekatron:read his comment again where he says "it's not easy".. he has obviously tried and failed severally . |
