irunoobo:
This election is not about whether GEJ was scammed in southwest or not. The people of the SW and north spoke the truth with their votes. It is unfortunate the Igbos made a wrong political gamble by supporting GEJ even though he failed woefully and did nothing tangible for their region. They failed to forget the past and embrace national unity hence their political decisions has always damaged their chances of having a major political influence or relevance in the Nigerian system.

There were so many indications that Jonathan was going to lose - He prepared late; he was careful with the timing of his declaration, when body language showed he was interested. He had no message for the people. All I heard were trains and fertilizers, YouWin, benin-Ore road and SureP(Really?) for 6 years. His campaign strategies reeled of derogatory statements and unnecessary personality attacks instead of concrete manifestos. APC employed consultants, PDP employed losers (FFKs, Okupe, Abati, Reuben, TANs etc). Jonathan heated the polity with ethnic-religious campaign strategies, jumping from one church to another; what do you think the Muslims would do? His wife continued to make derogatory statements against the North calling them names for making babies they can't cater for and insulting them with the constant mention of Almajiri schools. He was deceived by his aides , greedy people around him and he became a sectional leader. He was a bad product and I made mention of this regularly, a bad product never sells.

So I would say he scammed himself, he deceived himself by running to the south west bribing kings for endorsements as if the masses don't know what they really want.

He has successfully created a divide along tribal, religious and ethnic line all around the country and it will take a massive national reorientation to restore our national unity.

I will not pat him at the back for conceding defeat cos he already knew what awaits him if he acted on the contrary. He was part of the crew that ousted Gbagbo and he is fully aware of the watchful eyes of the ICC and instead of spending the rest of his life in jail like Gbagbo, he chose to return to Otueke to enjoy his loot in peace.

Gej should have won this elections easily if he had the interest of the masses at heart. He will forever live with the stigma of the first incumbent president to be ousted in Nigeria.

For your information his lost in the election is a blessing in disguise to him, because he has gained more respect from Nigerians, Africans and International community. #GEJ THE MANDELA OF NIGERIA#

what goof? If not that our reasoning as nigerians has been so bastardized by our corrupt leaders that we can't see how the president's visit is connected to the robbery(not saying he perpetrated it).

Robbers of such calibre do not operate without solid information. How well do you think they can operate when they get info from the police themselves about how majority of their men will be at alert concerning the president's visit? Maybe these robbers have been studying the trend of mr president's visit and must have noticed how concentrated on him the nigeria police are whenever he visits any state, a thing they took advantage of.

It's just so sad that here in nigeria, we ignore little signs that might lead to the solving of big cases.

Illiterates everywhere.
My friend keep shut if you dont know what to say. Was president GEJ in lagos when previous Bank robberies occured in thesame Lekki Phase 1?It is common knowledge that the only escape route for them is the waterways. Is it not high time Fashola establishes a permanent security apparatus or patrol in the waterways? He should just own up to his irresponsible talk and apologise to Lekki Residence.

Politics / Governor Liyel Imoke Finally Picks A Succesor(pictures) by stineb1: 5:34pm On Oct 09, 2014
Governor of Cross River state, Liyel Imoke finall disclosed to an inner caucus who he picked to succeed him come may 2015.
Sources close to Government House revealed that he named Ntufam. Dr Fidelis Ugbo as the best and prefered choice amongst the 22 Governorship aspirants from the Northern Senatorial district of the state where the Governorship slot is zoned to following many years of marginalisation.
Accordiing to the source who will not want to be named, the Governor however made it clear to the caucus that his choice for Ntufam Ugbo is purely personal, because he knows Ugbo to be the only aspirants with both human and infrastructure developmental mind set, as exhibited when Ugboserved under him as the Secretary to Cross River state Government, before hIs appointment as Executive Secretary,National Planning Commission.
Governor Imoke also added that Ugbo is the most exposed and experienced in matters of viable economic policy making, analysis and strategies, at the Local, state,Federal and International cadres. This, Imoke views as a top quality for any political leader.
Governor Imoke strongly recommended FIdelis Ugbo to the caucus for their support as he sees Ugbo as the right person for the Job especially now that the state is strategising for a non Oil Economy. He however, promised a level playing field for all aspirants during the forthcoming PDP primaries in November.
Ntufam Dr. Fidelis Ugbo is the Current Executive Secretary, National Planning Commission, he doubles as Secretary, Nigeria Economic Council.
He is a retired Director of Central Bank of Nigeria, a former Commissioner of Finance, Cross River state.
Fidelis Ugbo backs numerous National and internatonal award and recognitions includng the renowned KWAME NKRUMA AWARD FOR EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP.

For your information, CT scan is not the most complex Imaging modality.Unless you mean that's the highest you have seen and admired .I'm pleased to inform you of other recent Imaging modalities such Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Positron Emission Tomography scans. I'm sure you haven't heard about them, yet you claim to know all that cocerns Healthcare as a Doctor. There is need for consultacy in Radiography, Pharmacy,Physiotherapy,Nursing and Medical Laboratory Scientist. I pity you guys. This is just the beginning of your end.
infolekan:
Bumfem....but there's the Head of Nursing Services....and Chief Pharmacists and Chief Physiotherapists and All.
I remember Physics days in the Universities....we used to have the Chief Laboratory Technicians and the Physics Lecturer. It'd be really appalling to hear the Lab Tech now fighting to head the Physics Dept as he's responsible for the Lab where the tests are done.
A lot of what is being fought for by JOHESU are what the health system isn't ripe for.
Let them compare Salary structure between Medical personel here and over there and tell me if we're running the same thing.
People grow fat in stagnant positions here.
Half the people being quoted are so well read that they can hold their own in any gathering there.....how many of them are here and how what's the need for a Consultant Radiographer who's not going to operate any thing more complex that a CT Scan and isn't even responsible for its reading.

Inasmuch as it makes me shudder both in disgust, fear & revulsion for such self grandiose and a pathological liar who would lie so much online to accomplish what he did not accomplish in his real life....It would however be unfair to the general public if they can't learn a word or two from this obvious liars 'achievements'
This is a man who has told us he is well traveled internationally and threw some countries at us as if he was relating to illiterates here.
People have traveled far more that you have and I can show you the job description expected of a Radiologist from the same Australia he claimed to have been and what this man(who obviously suffers from inferiority complex is doing)
This is one of the main reasons why NMA is against the issue of Consultancy as we have enough crooks already not to now talk of endowing them with the title of a Consultant.
This disgruntled element up here will most likely operate on a patient as he does see any difference between what the Doctor can do and what he should be doing. It is written plainly there that the interpretation of the result is left to a radiologist who will not even prescribe on his own but advise the primary physician managing the patients. But he does all that even refers to A Pharmacist who prescribes
It's a pity that the Pharmacist and the Nurses have allowed themselves to be drawn into this riftraft of a group called JOHESU as the core health professions still remain Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.
Every other department is under Allied Health Services( anyone can google that up in their spare time) but those allied health services are making more noise and crying more than the bereaved

phantomm: grin grin grin grin grin grin @ the bolded. i hope you know that radiographers are the ones who 'photograph' the patients.the radiologists who are the doctors in that department interprete the results..
in the labs ,the lab technologists do the bench work or test the samples.the onus still lies on the pathologist who is a doctor to ratify the results.
my brother these allied professionals are attaching undue importance to themselves.they are not that important.
I am trying to fanthom if you are a medical officer or House officer maybe even a 2nd MB drop out. For a start,I want to introduce my self as a proud Medical Imaging Specialist A.K.A Radiographer I wish to inform you that as far as my practice of Radiography is concerned,We have trained Radiographers who report Tomograms(CT scan Images, MRI Images, Mamograms and Radiographs(Not picture as you call it). I have worked in Australia,UAE and Grenada before returning home to set up my private diagnostic centre where we run X-ray, Ultrasound,ECGand Laboratory Test. We didn't engage any Doctor in our practice because there are not needed. We have been precise and succesful with our test procedures without any complain from anywhere. It will suffice you to note that I take the X-ray exposure and report the Radiographs afterward with my name and Qualifications written and stamed there in. Same thing goes for general and specialised Ultrasound scan procedures(You can see that I have no need for a RADIOLOGIST,who after graduating from Medical school, decides to come and idle in my field of Radiography because of Lack of Job)
Furthermore, I employed a Medical Laboratory Scientist to oversee our Laboratory and he is very copetent in that line without the involvement of any socalled Pathologist. There is a pharmacy outfit beside us where we Reffer patients to buy their medications if need be, especially in Swab M/C/S etc.The good news is that patients get well after diagnosis and take prescribed medications from the pharmacist. We only refer a case that is worth Refferable to selected Hospitals that understand what Team work or division of labor means so that they can also do the needful. For your information Student Dr. Phantom,Nigerians are getting more exposed to know that you musnt go to the Hospital and see a Doctor to be well. 70% of our patients walk into our diagnostic outfit to give their complains. From our vast clinical knowledge based on experience and reading, we clerk them and carry out investigations where needed and where were see an issue we refer them to pharmacy for drugs or to a Hospital for care.
All the points you have been raising in this thread are only applicable in Government Health Institutions where you have your peers as Directors hence JOHESU petition and outcry to put an end to this anomaly.Government researched and constructively reasoned with JOHESU by accepting to implement our plea and a certain unrecognized Association in Nigeria Trade Unionism called NMA is striking against another mans career progression. All this anomalies in the health sector is what made me to reject an appointment from OAU Teaching Hospital Ife, after my Internship because I didn't want to be restrained from progressing in my career. I never regretted my decision to turn down the offer, because I have made so much money both abroad and in my private practice in Nigeria, A thing that I can only dream of probably after Retiring from the current Healthcare Institutions if I had taken their offer. Infact we need a change in this Rotten sector Instigated by a group of practitioners(NMA) that has little knowledge in Management.
In summary, I heard you said Doctors can do other professional duties. With all sense of seriousness I disagree with you. The day I catch any socalled Doctor Touching an X-ray,CT,Mammo,MRI or even an ultrasound machine, talkless of operating them, I'll so sue them using Decree No. 42 of Federation an act that empowers only Radiographers to run diagosis with those modalities.
Infact Dr. Phantom or whatever you call yourself, I openly challenge you on Clinicals let's see who knows it better.
Go to College of Medical Science University of Calabar and hear how student Radiographers beat Medical students in a quiz organised by the College provost for Anatomy courses (Neuro, Embryology,Gross,Histology etc)
Most of us chosed Radiography as First and 2nd Choice during our Jamb, because we wanted to be Radiographers(Eyes or Oracle of Medicine) Can you beat that? Cheers bro.

Crime / Re: Police Arrest Fake LUTH Doctor by stineb1: 3:30pm On Oct 23, 2013
Most Health Professional should share the blame for an increasing rate of quackry in Nigeria. Some resort to illegally training their close friends and relatives on how to carry out certain procedures especilally when themselves are out for PP(Private Practice) Forgetting that their trainees(Quacks) will one day graduate to doing something else and later on see themselves as Doctors. Nursing Profession Today is suffering because of the Influx of Auxillary Nurses(Quacks) Medical Laboratory Science practice is suffering today as a result of the influx of Lab Assistant(Quacks) Medical Radiography and Ultrasound Practice is suffering today because of non formally trained personnel(Quack Technicians) Pharmacy practice is suffering today because of patent and road side drug sellers(Quacks)
The major cause of this increase in quackery is based on reluctancy of some Hospitals to employ qualified healthcare professionals such as Medical Imaging Specialists(aka Radiographers) Pharmacist , Registered Nurses and Medical Laboratory Scientist.
This trend of fake health personels is more common in Hospitals than Diagnostic Centres. The unfortunate thing is that, Doctors who use quacks in their medical outfit do alot of cover ups for wrong diagnosis and services by these quacks. At the end of the day, the innocent patients suffers more.
Fellow Nigerians,im pleased to inform you that you have the right to know the status whoever is attending to you. SHINE YOUR EYES WELL !!!

It is not advisable to do a brea$t self examination . There is no morality advantage.
Women should go for mammography every 2-3 yrs starting at age 50.
A lump on a woman can mean anything , it can be a cyst , fibroadeonma. Not every lump is a cancer.
I completely disagree with you and the US preventive whatever on the age barrier. In Nigeria and UK, the age qualification for Mammography Examination is 40 years and above, to be carried out annually or Bi-annually depending on Family History. Younger females of less than 40 years of age are required to undergo a breast scan if a lump is noticed.
