ivandragon: Again, it is a good project, but not a priority at this tight times.
There are already existing roads in need of repair at the fraction of the cost of the estimated cost of that coastal road that would serve an even more urgent purpose than the coastal road.
When this turns out to be the shambles it would eventually become, some clowns would turn on Umahi and his tribe and conveniently excuse the person on whose table the buck stops. A road proposed many decades ago is still not a priority? And the stupid reason is because some existing roads need repairs that are actually ongoing by different contractors? When did governance become single-tasking? |

drsibz66: Seems you have a learning disability. Your argument is that people don't make it in uk. And I just gave you an example of how people are more likely to make it in uk than Nigeria. Where they finally spend their money doesn't matter , the argument is have they made it or not over a given time compared to Nigeria. Ie carer in uk can save 3000 to 5000 pounds yearly while a minimum wage earner in Nigeria can't save 1/10th of it. Extrapolate that over 10 to 15yrs and tell me who has made it. You are still making the same mistake. You saved £5000 in a year in UK and you say you have made it? Money that will not pay for 5months of Nanny care if you have kids. Meanwhile N500k that is not even the equivalent of the pound amount, will pay for nanny care for 8months. Whatever you have saved in US or UK, is for later expenditure where you are. Stop comparing it to what a Nigerian saved for later expenditure in Nigeria. As you do not earn the same, you do not save the same, and you will never later consume the savings the same. They are 2 separate economies, and they do not meet at the point of savings expenditure. |

drsibz66: So because you have 1 uncle or aunt that didn't make it In uk , every body who went to uk never make it. Even in Somalia , some Nigerians still make let alone uk. As a carer in uk who earns minimum wage if you work hard and spend wisely you can save 300 to 500 pounds monthly after all your expenses. How many Nigerians on minimum wage can save the equivalent in 1yr in Nigeria. That $300 to $500 the career saved in a month, is it not savings that will later be expended in that same economy. If I save in Nigeria, I save it to later spend in Nigeria, so same applies to the savings in the UK to be later spent in the UK. Stop tying your UK savings to a future Nigerian expenditure. |

God forbid the day I will abandon a well paying Nigerian job just because I want to put on winter jacket in UK while my face is unhappy and my health is terribly under stress.
I do not mind doing it for a job or immigration to the USA where opportunities abound for even the very 1st generation of the immigrant family, but UK is a big NO.
The majority of Nigerians who have been in the UK since the early 1980s, they have not made it till today. Their children have not made it too.
The wise 3rd generation have embraced sport and entertainment, so that the curse of the UK will not happen to the 3rd generation of the family.
If you go to the UK, you are going there to suffer so that maybe your 3rd generation family can finally live wealthy. |

The only place a clansperson can have peace is in his own village, where he has no choice but to accept that any policy cannot be a deliberate agenda against his tribe by his own tribe.
Ohaneze Ndigbo did not make any noise when Peter Obi or Theodore Orji were demolishing buildings in their respective states that year.

The way he was questioned about not building any school, is the same way he should be questioned about,
1. His foreign bank account in the UK when he was Governor.
2. His resignation from his private business 2years after he became Governor and then foolishly claiming he immediately handed over his resignation letter to his wife.
3. The Pandora expose as he tried to hide away his wealth under his daughter's name only after he became Governor.
4. Lastly, he needs to be taken to the cleaners on his minimalist approach to infrastructure that does not last.

At a point during the program, the project manager introduced himself and I heard one igbo boy from behind screaming : "Na wa o, all of una nq just Yoruba...I never hear one igbo name since Monday "
Bro, I just weak....like this is about upskilling and the only thing in this guy mind was the tribal identity of the tutors. Man even counted all 3days sessions They are wired that way. I know a tertiary school in Yoruba land that has state of origin associations that enable students interact with their respective state governments for benefits like student bursary and after school state job offers etc. It was the Igbo students that still went ahead to form Igbo Students Association. What was the need for? To satisfy that innate clannish DNA. Igbos are not ashamed about their tribal inclination. They do not hide it. They are very vocal about it even in another tribe's domain. |

professorPABX: I visited that place with two of my friends about 10 days ago. One worked with ICJ in Hague while the other is with AU at Addis. We were both students several years ago in a University in IBO land. They chatted this morning again about EFCC out of Court settlement with Cubana Chief Priest.
The Yorubas need to chart a course out of Nigeria. Our nature doesn't work with the people we are grouped with in Nigeria. The IBOS are now trying to win over ignorance, naive and confused Yoruba youths.
OBASANJO tried Sunday Afolabi, Tafa Balogun and Mrs Bolaji Osomo. I was in Abuja ( NASS ) during Yaradua's trial of Prof (Mrs) Nike Grange and Iyabo Obasanjo. I witnessed the travail of Patricia Etteh.
If Bobrisky were to be IBO and Chief Priest Yoruba, the Social Media would have been on fire by now. We spent 6 years with them, we know them.
Few days ago, I reminded people that Chief Afe Babalola's first office was among the demolished buildings at Ibadan for the building of Adamasingba Stadium. I don't know how an economic immigrant to Lagos will tie down the development, government and the people because of his business .
The Yoruba elites need to think deeply.
This page can spend hours on two or three pages because it concerns YORUBA and Voice of Reasoning. If it were the other people, before one hour, you are on the 10th page. All that you detailed except the Ibadan part that affected Chief Afe Babalola, is well known to me. Despite that I am still under 40yrs of age. The sophisticated Yorubas are the problem we Yorubas would have in the long run. Akotiletas! I would say I belong to that category, but the happenings in the Jonathan regime and my experience on Nairaland, gave me a bird-eye view to all that was happening in the minds of those I thought were my fellow country men |

But the coastal road is just as important as the other roads that need attention, and I believe the FG is working simultaneously to fix others too.
Meanwhile, contact me if you need to buy vehicles that can survive on Nigerian roads. Take a stroll through my profile for more enquiries. He has no point. That a new project is starting, does not mean work is not ongoing on others. He is a Minimalist, so he has to reason as such. See internal road projects that are being concluded, yet a typical Obidient is asking for bicycle lane and whatnot. That is a typical Obi mentality that can never be assuaged due to the bitterness of electoral defeat.
