Armenia was under russian protection, but its new leader has been courting the USA and NATO and neglecting Russia. Now Azerbaïdjan which NATO is courting and which is very close to Turkey (NATO) has spotted Armenia's weakness and wants to exploit it. And to add to that, Armenia has been taking defense decisions without consulting with its protector (Russia) including doing war games with the USA.
Now the USA is in a dilemma: no weapons to spare (all were given to Nazis in ukrsine) and not willing to go against important NATO ally Turkey.
World police:= world mafia.

An other long writeup.
You really think I have the time to waste reading this ?
Dude, you are just one more person who believes Google is a good replacement for education and intellectual activity.
I have had enough discussions with fools on nairaland for me to not need any more of such for the rest of my life.
Carry on calling the British "master" and carry on saying traditional rulers "work for the state" and justifying it because according to you someone wrote "salary" on a "holy" government Gazette. Dude, I have no time to waste with delusional fools who believe Google search makes them intellectually relevent.

casualobserver:
You are clearly an ignoramus and an 1mbec1le, First you say allowance is not salary. Then we show you official government gazette showing that they were salaried. You clearly do not know the significance of a government gazette. When I was growing up ( I grew up in a civil service household) until something is gazetted, it is not taken as official. Those who understand the British, know the difference between allowance and salary talk less in official records. A gazette is an official notice. . Such is the importance of. A gazetted that I am not guilty of breaking a law that has not been gazetted. That is how important a gazette is in governance. Whatever is in a gazette is official.

Every significant action of a government is gazzetted, down to the employment of cleaners, creation of ministries, import duty etc even sending staff on training course, scholarships, redeployment of staff etc.

The records of some government gazzettes in Africa can be found here by country:

https://gazettes.africa/.

Those predating 1957 can be found at the national archives.

Note: This is Monday morning, my intention was to ignore you so I am not responding for your sake but to enlighten others, do not bother reponding to me as it will be met with an ignore. Mor0n calling himself intellectual and not even making an attempt to display intellect! Even allowance, why would a king be paid an allowanance talk less salary? Your intellect did not prompt you that true kings collect Royalties? Hence the “Royal” in royalties. Allowance or salary implies subordination. If a “king” is being paid a salary, the gazette would say salary, similar for allowance or royalties.

The only reason why Nigerian emirs, obas etc still exist in Nigeria is because the British were understaffed. At the time there was 1 Colonial administrator for every 100,000 Nigerians not to talk of the vast geographical area plus they were dying at an alarming rate….9.7% of those seconded to Nigeria died of tropical diseases. British civil servants feared secondment to Nigeria. So vast was the British empire at the time and so understaffed were they that at one time they actually “sold” or leased Nigeria to the Royal Niger company in return for royalties from palm oil etc. The Royal Niger company is the forefather of the companies you know today as UAC, Unilever etc. So traditional kings were retained to help administer the colony in return for which they were salaried and allowed to save face by retaining their titles. In the North it was a different system, they were retained to collect taxes and kept 25% of taxes collected.

Your call yourself King, yet you are paid a salary by the same people collecting royalties on produce from the land you claim you are King over…who is fooling who?

1. Of course you rely on "Google search" because in reality you have no idea of what you are talking about, you are just doing a quick 30 second Google search instead of being a person whom have studied the situation and have reached logical conclusions with consideration of all the facts.

I always pity those who think they can win an argument against me:
1. I never enter an argument without having proof of my claims.
2. I never deviate from objectif truth.
3. I never use anything but logic

All that being said, I can see by your response that you are not very mature. I suppose you are a teenager.

a. when you want to use a paper as your argument, at least provide a screenshot, the page and a link to the website hosting the paper. So right now you have me talking about a paper whose existence is not guaranteed and which may not actually contain the words you claim it does (if the paper does exist)

b. If the paper which you are quoting is authentic then you believe the money given to traditional rulers by the British invaders was a salary because it is written "salary" on the paper ? In that logic, I guess it would be "god blessed magical money" if the British had written a paper in which they call it so ?

c. Again, monarchs do not work, they get allowances, not salaries. It seems like you want to drag me into an other debate entirely, about "rankings" now 😓 what is it with you guys that you can never stay on topic ? You always need distractions. (For your info, there is no such think as "rankings", kings of different kingdoms are not ranked amongst each other, you seem to not fully understand that the British were foreign invaders who invaded sovereign kingdoms of the region...)

D. Of course you are one of those calling the British master...what a waste of time...

As for your nonsense about abdulsalam, read the Nigerian constitution, there is not a single mention of them. Since independence they have only ever existed and had any official recognition at the regional or state level under the AUTHORITY of the respective governors who can remove them at will for any reason he deems.
As far as federal law is concerned the monarchy does not exist and rightfully so because they were all conquered by the British. Whatever positions they occupied previously was 1) as employees to help the colonial masters with administration in return for which they were allowed to save face and keep the title of kings. Kings who report to governors.

I asked you to prove to me that traditional rulers "work for the state" as you put it. The only thing which I can retain in your response is "collect salaries from the state"

And then I will debunk your argument by this:
1) those are not salaries, they are allowances.
2) the king of England also collects allowances, does he "work for the state" ?
3) ex presidents also collect allowances, do they "work for the state" ?
4) I was expecting you to at least give an intelligent argument, let me explain to you the condition of traditional rulers: they operate a system which they inherited from their ancestors (I'm not referring to the fake traditional rulers created by the Nigerian government or the british).

Colonisation was the act of Britain waging war against the countries of the region and defeating them and then creating two colonies out of those countries (northern and southern Nigeria), those colonies were later joined together as one.

Indirect rule was the British vassalising the monarchs of the region.

Independence was the British "relinquishing" power from their colony (Nigeria) and leaving behind a copycat system of government which is foreign to our land and is not entirely sovereign and is extremely corrupt.

The current state of the traditional rulers is due to general abdulsalami copying the American system of government before handing power over to civilians. In the previous republic of Nigeria, the monarchs had a sort of "house of lords" just like the British. Abdulsalami copied the USA system of government and left out the monarchs from their previous political roles. But still that doesn't mean they "work for the state".

Like many Nigerians, you lack knowledge of history and understand very little of current affairs. You guys are extremely politicised and see mostly through politics. There is more to this world than politics.

Ebora Owu needs to read this...

Oba Ademuagun was installed as Deji on the 28th October, 1957. In the same year 1957 he was inducted into the Western House of Chiefs which we know as "Ipade Lobaloba

The incident happened during the very first meeting he attended. All selected Oba in the region attended the meeting with Chief Obafemi Awolowo who was the Premier of the western region. In Ondo province, only five(5) Obas attend the meeting namely; Deji of Akureland, Olowo of Owo, Osemawe of Ondo, Ewi of Ado and Elekole of Ikole

At the meeting, all the Obas were already seated before Awolowo walked in majestically in his usual way. Immediately he arrived, all the Obas stood up except Oba Ademuagun, Ekun oko Eyesorun. The other Obas were surprised, seeing this new and young Oba from Akure seated when Awolowo came in. Awolowo himself was surprised and asked who he was and he replied, "I am the Deji of Akureland, Ademuagun Adesida II."

Awolowo queried his audacity, and Oba Ademuagun responded, "was it polite seeing the likes of Kabiesi Adesoji Aderemi or Alaafin Ladigbolu, who are older than us, standing up for you while you walk in. In London where we both studied law, have you ever heard that someone walked in and the Queen stood up. In fact Queen will enter a venue last. Even if Nigeria system of government is different from theirs, respects must be given to whom it is due. We here, inherited our father's stool and it's only death that can remove us but you, your time on this seat will soon lapse. You got there by thumb and through thumb you shall be removed. Me, Ademuagun will never stand up for you."

He asked those Obas including Oba Akenzua of Benin, to get back to their seats but they couldn't. They were just watching the drama. A serious altercation ensued, after which Oba Ademuagun had to remove his cap(crown), handed it to Awolowo and dared him to put it on if he could so as to prove he deserves the respect he demanded from him. The other Obas took it from Awolowo and before they could turn back Oba Ademuagun had left the venue. Thanks to Olodumare that some omodeowas followed him to the meeting, they had to retrieve the crown and ran after him. The feud between both Icons was later settled here in Akure by Dr Nnamdi Azikwe after many years

He exercised his bravery before Awolowo, maybe because he was a lawyer who knows law like him

Olori Asake Adebola Adesida, the then Eyesorun witnessed this and Regent Adesida Adebusola Alice confirmed it

Respect to Akure Deji

One thing which annoys the Edo in me is the constant lies and appropriation of history and culture done by the Yoruba.
1) For your information Oba Akenzua lead the Midwest out of the western region. I don't recall your fabled Yoruba monarch doing anything this brave.

2) you just had to mention the Oba of Benin to give importance to your fake story about Yoruba monarchs whom nobody cares about

3) Stop overusing the word "Oba", you Yoruba do this all the time ! Use the titles of your monarchs and while speaking English, use the English word for monarch which is "monarch" or use the titles of your monarchs.
The reason why the Oba of Benin is referred as Oba even when we speak English is that his title is "Oba".
Your grandfathers' monarchs copied the title of the Oba of Benin and you guys just go on with the copying, your copying of other people's culture is so advanced that many things you do and say make 0 sense.

If you want to talk about the Oni, then you can refer to him as Oni or monarch (eventhough he really is just a priest).

Also, I don't recall talking about "Nigerian scientists" Nigeria is very bad at science studies mostly because in Nigeria there are too many people like you who think the mastery of the art of communication and theater is the highest point of intellectual activity. Although, students of litterature (everywhere in the world) are often elitist, you can see it in lawyers who seem to think they are the smartest people in the world, even when I was a student, the loudest mouths were always medicine students and law students who seemed so convinced of how "awesome" they are.
Well I'm still holding back. If only all my family members were scientists, I wouldn't need to hold back.

What I research: model theory, set theory, category theory, lambda calculus, commutative algebra, differential geometry.

⚡President of 🇫🇮 Finland Sauli Niniste confirmed that American military forces will be on Finnish soil, the local tabloid "Iltalehti" reports.

"We talked a lot about the need to bring NATO units to Finland. The agreement on bilateral defense cooperation with the 🇺🇸 USA will lead to at least some kind of American presence in our country," said Niniste.

This agreement, as previously announced, will allow Washington to use the territory of the Nordic country to store military equipment, that is, to set up its bases there.
Does the USA understand what "overstretched" means in military dictionary? Not every country is good to add to your military alliance. Adding weaklings whom intend to depend on you for military operations can only overstretch your military.

NATO is looking more and more like an overstretched paper tiger.

The fact many people in Africa think like you is the reason why Africa in underdeveloped.
You are making zero sense in your attempt to redefine "intelligence" and "genius", but that is the main method of people like you who believe studying literature makes them geniuses.
Tell me how you send a guy to the moon with studies of litterature?
The computers and smartphones you use everyday were not created by students of litterature, the car you use everyday wasn't invented by "classicists".
I'm a scientist and I have little patience for people from litterary backgrounds who have extremely big egos. You guys are mostly delusional and believe yourselves to be what you are not. I'm holding back because I have family members who studied litterature, but you guys need some humility.

Lama70:
Thirdly, an intelligent man cannot be said to be a genius. Intelligence is far different. Even though a genius has intelligence as part of his gifts or virtues. I didn't portray Classicists as geniuses in this case.
