Nairalander Godwin Favour, Gospel Artiste Who Started Singing At 10, Tours The Globe With His Talent

He is a gifted musical artist who discovered early enough that nature has endowed him with special talent to impact his generation.

Like most successful stars who hit the limelight in their chosen careers early in their lifetime, MCGodwinFavour who is a Nairalander, started gospel music at a young age of 10 by singing in a local church choir from where like a mustard seed, the talent grew to this level of stardom.

His passion and natural flare for music, especially gospel genre saw him leading praise and worship in the church through which he nurtured the gift that has now blossomed, winning for him laurels and recognitions from within and outside Nigeria.

A 2004 holder of a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from Katsina Polytechnic, Nigeria and London School of Accountancy and Management in 2011, the budding artist made a breakthrough as a professional gospel artist in August 2019 with a single titled,” Yahweh”, followed by his debut album, “Throne of Grace” in December the same year.

The album which featured EXPLICIT Gospel Crew, Abuja, one of Abuja’s renowned producers, Tobass Adolphus as well as Jennifer Adiele in the song titled, “Igwe”, has revealed him as a star to watch.

Within the short time of hitting professional stage, he is already blazing the trail in the industry with records of soul-lifting performances in Churches around Nigeria as well as having to cross the shores of Nigeria to London performing at the Redeemed Assembly, Harlesden Baptist Church and Winners Chapel, all in London.

He hasn’t been winking in the dark, his exploits in gospel music has earned him nomination for Rhema Global Award in the USA, for ‘Best Song’ of the year and ‘Best Event Host/MC’.

He has anchored numerous church events and has featured as Guest on various Television and Radio stations in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He is a firm believer in the Word of God and attributes his successful rise as a gospel artist, song writer, ministration, events hosting and anchoring and lots more to the abiding grace of God

Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi expresses his condolences to the family of prof Grace Alele Williams who passed unto glory on Friday at 89 years old.

Engr Ogiemwonyi described Prof. Grace Alele Williams as an Amazon a woman of many firsts, a trailblazer, an outstanding woman of integrity, a renowned mathematician and the first Nigerian female Vice-Chancellor at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) the first Nigerian woman to receive a doctorate.

Prof. Grace Alele Williams a scholar, an administrator per excellence was a great role model to the female gender whom she inspired with her brilliance and diligence.

Thankful to God she lived a life of great impact, the late scholar's drive and love for knowledge earned her many recognitions/awards in Nigeria & across the globe.

Her lasting memories will remain in the heart of those she left behind and they shall cherish her forever.

Praying that God grant fortitude & comfort to the the family she left behind, the itsekiri community and the entire staff and management of the University of Benin

The “Arm Our Youths Health Campaign”, a technology-driven anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer initiative, has commenced across the 37 orientation camps for the Batch A, Stream One, of Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.


The program, being delivered by the OCI Foundation in conjunction with the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS), the First Ladies Against Cancer (NCS), and the Sweet Home Africa Humanitarian Foundation, also offers raffle giveaways to corps members. The Draw for the 2022 Batch-A, Stream-One, was held on March 11, 2022, with 20 winners emerging. The winner’s list is attached. A video recording of the Raffle Draw exercise is also attached.


This is the first of a Raffle Draw that will hold 6 times a year, every year, from now on.

Earlier, in a statement made available to Journalists in Abuja, the program convener, the Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation, said the programme is being implemented by the NYSC in collaboration with the Nigeria Cancer Society and the Nigerian First Ladies Against Cancer, as well as Sweet Home Humanitarian Foundation.


The statement recalled that the OCI Foundation had in October 2021, trained staff of the NYSC from across the 36 States and the FCT, ahead of this nationwide roll-out.


It explained further that the training included details of the functionalities of CerviBreast Mobile Phone Application, an anti-cancer App introduced by the Foundation to help with the early detection of Breast and Cervical Cancers.


“The Foundation also launched a digital cervical cancer screening centre with Nigeria’s FCT,” the statement said.


“On February 3, 2022, Wife of the President Aisha Buhari, launched the official commencement of the Anti-Cancer Health Campaign in Abuja,” it added.


In Anambra and Katsina states, the trained NYSC anchors for the Programme, Mrs Ujunwa Ubboe and Mrs Helen Sakyenu, informed the corps members that through the Cervi-Breast App, they would obtain the required preventive information, including Nollywood-themed videos relating to breast and cervical cancers.

According to the trainers, after the three weeks orientation and further online courses, corps members may be able to pass on the acquired knowledge to other youths in their host communities.

An Abuja based comedian, MC Bob has been reminded of his earlier calling, by his wife as she surprises him with the gift of a brand new trumpet at their wedding anniversary.

MC Bob in a viral video said what brought him to Abuja about nine years ago was to play trumpet in a church but he ended up a comedian and one of the leading entertainers in the nation's capital.

He expressed gratitude to his wife for reminding him of his little beginning with the brand new trumpet.

The entertainer also expressed gratitude to God for establishing him in Abuja in the midst of many with similar talents.

He assured his wife that the music instrument is well appreciated and not taken for granted.

To be sure he still understands the rudiment of the art, he tested the brand new music instrument with a popular Yoruba gospel song as he puts on a hand glove that came along with the trumpet.

Recently, he hosted friends and colleagues during the dedication of his son Prince Jesse Anasi Bob at CCI Abuja. The reception which took place at 3JS Hotel in Utako Abuja had in attendance Nollywood stars, top comedians, musicians, models and beauty queens.

A gender advocate and President, World Women Leading Change Nigeria, Ogenna Walter on Tuesday hosted women from across the world in a zoom conference to mark the 2022 International Women's Day.

Theme of the 2022 International Women's Day is " Gender Equality Today For A Sustainable Tomorrow" with the hashtag #BreakTheBias.

The host, Ogenna Walter who is a public speaker and also the founder Motivating African Youths Initiative (MAY-I) a PAN African youth & Women empowerment network in her introductory remarks said the time is now for women to occupy strategic leadership positions in Africa.

The entrepreneur and fashion designer expressed dissatisfaction that despite numerous roles women play in stabilizing the socio-economic environment in Africa, they have not been accorded due recognition.

She therefore urged for support among women to enable them speak in unison as the quest to advance their welfare continues.

She also expressed displeasure that the Nigerian National Assembly rejected bills seeking to enhance more women representation in the country's political scene.

Keynote Speakers at the conference are, Dr. President Ayla Aldjufurie, the founder Women Leading Change, Princess Dr. Debbie Dineo Raphutie, the President World Women Leading Change Africa and Dr. Priscilla Ndu, Vice Chairman of Infrastructural Development and Energy Company Ltd.

Last Friday, February 25th, The National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Orumba South LG led by Comr Casmir Chibuike Orie embarked on Heavy Campaign Against Child Abuse and Early Child Pregnancy in Orumba South LG.

This is following as the rate of Child Abuse and Early Child Pregnancy is increasing in the local government. Nowadays, it's almost becoming a norn seeing young girls of 13-17 years of age taking in, sometimes without proper care. Many are being led into early prostitution at a very tender age.

Rising to this challenge, the NYCN Orumba South LG decided to embark on this thought provocking Campaign to sensitise the people on the dangers of this menace. The rally was done in collaboration with the women from the 15 Communities in Orumba South LG. The event which was sponsored by a number of humanitarian individuals like; Sir Eric Eze (Ochiagha Orumba), Hon. Engr Emmanuel Nwafor (Ntu Japan), Hon. Michael Okonkwo (Ozowara), Amb. David Ewenike (CEO David Ewenike Foundation), Engr. Promise Ike (CEO PRINCE ONYENDOZI FOUNDATION), Comr. Onyinye Azor, Hon. Amb John Akanyeonu (PG Umunze) and others saw the presence of over 300 women and Youths.

The women and Youths moved round some major streets in Umunze and later converged to the local government Secretariat where some selected individuals lectured them on the dangers of Child Abuse and Early Child Pregnancy.

Next is the repeat of same sensitisation in all the Communities of Orumba South LG.
