First, it is American, not ameracan

Second, are you comparing the White House with Asorock? White House can afford not to negotiate with terrorists, GEJ does not have that luxury. Truth is that his own life is not that secure . . .

Katsumoto:

He collected the pass with his ankle. I know because this and the goal against Algeria are the best goals.

I think the strike you are referring to is the pass from Okocha against Egypt, when he collected the ball on his chest with his back to goal, juggled the ball with his knee, turned and smashed a volley against the post. I remember cos my brain was very young and fresh.

Wrong! The goal DK is talking about was from an Oliseh assist. Oliseh was deep in the midfield on the right side and sent an overhead pass to Rashidi which he collected with his chest, not with his ankle. You just dont get tired of making shyt up, do you?

Ibime: My favourite is his headed goal against Gabon simply because that was the first time I had my senses. I was a little too young during Senegal 92 and dont remember his goals although I watched the whole tournament with my dad.

The goal against Gabon was pure class. At that age, it was amazing to me that you could height the keeper and collect the ball on the other side.

The goal I celebrated the most was his goal against Bulgaria though, simply because that goal told us we had arrived on the World stage. It was the first time I was seeing Nigeria compete against World-level teams and ma heart was beating like mad until Yeking popped that goal.

RIP Yeking!

Agreed. Tunisia 94 was the first time I understood and enjoyed watching soccer/football, and that goal? PRICELESS. Senegal 92 was just a blur. The only thing I remembered was the final match and the emotions it generated.

His Greatest goal that never went in was the one against Egypt, mehn, I cried after the match 'cos in my competitive spirit I wanted us to win everything/everymatch and not winning against Egypt was unacceptable to my lil mind.

Anyway, May his soul rest in peace. He was a role model to many, never smoked, never dyed his hair or put on earrings or dreads. He was always himself! No fakeness none of that shyt. He always kept to himself, doing his hardest to bring happiness to many a Nigerian at a time when everything else in our national life, besides Football, was in shambles. He reminds me of Hakeem Olajuwon; very disciplined WRT his Muslim faith. Not one to womanize or espouse unnecessary flamboyancy.

Newton County woman charged with threatening judge
By The Associated Press
EMAIL STORYCONTACT EDITORPRINT
A woman was arrested after authorities say she threatened a juvenile court judge in front of three sheriff's deputies.

During the incident, Olukemi Olunloyo also said Fulton County Judge Rowland Barnes, who was killed in the Atlanta courthouse shootings earlier this month, "got what he deserved," a deputy said.

Deputies were called to Olunloyo's home Wednesday afternoon to settle a domestic dispute between her and her 18-year-old son.

After deputies calmed her son and started to leave, without making an arrest, Olunloyo, who is a licensed pharmacist, started talking about an upcoming Newton County Juvenile Court hearing she had with Assistant Judge Amy Baig, concerning her younger son.

"Judge Baig is a powder-puff judge," Olunloyo said, according to Deputy Wade Freeman's incident report. "My baby was held by the judge for three months because they could not get the medical records from Baltimore. I'm a pharmacist and I've seen her pharmacy records ... If she messes me up today then I'll mess her up."

Freeman warned her to watch what she said in front of a law enforcer.

But once deputies were outside in the front yard, Olunloyo allegedly came to the front door and said "I hate the system. I think Judge Rowland in Atlanta got what he deserved."

When deputies left, the woman then reportedly called a sheriff's dispatcher to complain about Freeman and said that as a pharmacist, she knew what drugs all the judges in the county were taking, Freeman reported.

Olunloyo has been charged with intimidation of a court officer, Newton County Sheriff's Office Investigator Marty Roberts said.

This woman is nuts!lol

You are really confused you know?

On one hand you come here every night, sometime during the day, advocating unregulated capitalism as the ideal economic policy for Nigeria and at the same time you post tirelessly supporting the biggest socialist party in the country, ACN. Where do you actually belong Ekt Bear? Where exactly? . . . hmmmm, ;little wonder your ideas are so complicated, only retarrrds understand them.

I dont know why this is so difficult for you to comprehend. . . The writer is only asking Dangote to invest in his own people/land for two reasons; their dignity and growth of the Dangote empire. Both are interwoven and intricately connected. For Dangote to continue to grow, those people must be able to live well and afford his products. The more well off they are, the more of the commodities they can afford, which will definitely lead to Dangote's growth. Isnt that easy to understand? This is not socialism, it just makes sense. When will the largest private employer in Nigeria, Dangote, realize that he needs these people to grow? Some decades ago, Henry Ford realized that his company would only prosper if his own workers/people earned enough to buy Fords. Surprisingly, Dangote never seemed to figure out that his lack of investment in his own people would eventually curtail the growth of his own company

The culture determines what is obligatory for him, not he himself?

Absolutely. No one exist in a vacuum. I understand it is a difficult concept for you to understand because of the soup you swim in; the "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" ideology you were brainwashed with.

Heh. Free will, liberty, self-determination...clearly all fraudulent ideologies.

Well, depends. Good ideologies on paper, but I am yet to see anyone become successful by their own sheer will/self determination.

Are those who "gave a poo about him" these impoverished boko haram masses? Or his papa, uncles, and family?

Those that came before him, looked after him and pretty much put things in place that made sure he didnt end up on the street as a terrorist.

What a sweet deal...some random guy from the same geopolitical region as you ends up rich, in fact making most of his wealth not even from/in your homeland, yet morons like this Chima and Fstranger will suggest that he donate his wealth to folk who had absolutely nothing to do with him even acquiring it.

Obviously you dont understand how he came about his wealth. Go do some reading Ekt Bear. grin
Thats your homework, due next week grin

Then again, this big mannism/"superhero" culture is exactly what has crippled the north economically.

You are wrong. What crippled the North was selling our collective property at give away prices to people like Dangote.

Rather than accountability for those actually who have mismanaged the assets of the north (governors, political leaders, etc), let us instead plunder some guy who had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Poverty mentality...

Accountability needs to start with people who served as conduit for those public officials that mismanaged those assets. After all, Yoruba people say: Eni gbe epo laja ko jale bi eni to gba sile ( It is not enough to blame the thief, the accomplice/helper is actually more culpable, without him the burglary wouldn't have been successful)

You seem to have not understood the point, as evidenced by you not understanding the India/Iran comparisons.

Of course! No one ever understand your points. No surprise there. Your points are so complicated only aliens can decipher them. grin No wonder you spend so much time explaining and re-explaining yourself. How do you come up with these stuffs? These complex points . . .

In a nutshell, it is up to him to determine what is obligatory for him or not.

No, it is up to the culture he grew up in.

Nobody has a right to dictate to him whether he must give a sh1t about his homeland...

If no one gave a shit about him, where would he be now?

he isn't the first man in history, and certainly won't be the last to have lost interest in his place of birth.

True. The more reason why we have to help him rekindle the "lost interest."

May as well be complaining about some Indian guy who has left his native country and doesn't care about it any more, is just enjoying his life in the UK or whatever.

Very irrelevant post IMHO

Just because you were born/grew up somewhere doesn't necessarily mean that you are responsible for that place's well-being.

Well, to whom much is given, BY WHERE THEY WERE BORN/GREW UP, much is expected. Its just common sense.

It would be nice of course, but certainly isn't obligatory..

Its all relative. One man's shyt is another woman's mashed potato. Of course to you, it is not obligatory. However, as Africans and because we are socialists by nature, it makes Cents, Kobo, Naira and Dollars to contribute to the uplift of the society that gave you so much. Yes, it is obligatory, because of the circumstances that led to his present status, that he contributes to the society. Meaning, like Abiola before him, he is responsible for the well being of his immediate environment.

This Ekenyerengozi Michael Chima fellow is a lunatic undecided

Kilode?!:

I feel your pain.

Bros. BTW, seeing that you posted this four days ago then came back again to scream about it. I'll recommend vacation.

I'll recommend places far from Lagos, places where electricity won't even matter.

There is a village/town close to Ikogosi warm springs in Ekiti State, it's a small town with one or two manageable motels. You can rent a room and spend your day listening to stories from old folks or hanging out with local people in the evening after their farm work. Very friendly people, Very relaxing experience.

There are several other quaint towns close to the SW that will offer similar peace and tranquility with little to no generator noise and fumes. Many in the North, East and SS too.

I can list them if you are interested. It's all about your desire for peace and quiet. Most locals understand or just tell them you came to write.

If that is too far from Ikoyi, I have a few other ones closer to Lagos:

1. Visit the nearest catholic church/retreat or convent and ask to stay with them for a few days, very relaxing, very rewarding quiet time. Making a charitable contribution will help.

2. Take a drive to Eleko or one of those beaches Far from the city, rent one of the Beach houses or tents and pay those local boys to guard at night for a few days, just enjoy quiet walks during the day and relax at night. No need for electricity.

3. If your income permits, drive across the border to Cotonou, rent a small motel, visit the markets and walk the streets during the day, rest at night, There's light!

There are several quiet and small towns close to Lagos, Hanging out on the front porches with old folks at Ilesa was a good experience too.

Bros, I wish you well, don't let these people run you mad.

BTW, did you vote during the last election?

Interesting!

Tell Drake and Kanye to pay up . . . I will have a street named after them in any part of Nigeria wink

For thrice the amount JAY-Z paid, we can rename your family house in Ekiti after them.

The possibilities are endless . . . as long as they are willing to pay up.

Politics / Assassination Plots Against Key Yoruba Leaders Uncovered By Group by strangerf: 5:57am On Apr 26, 2012
Wole Soyinka
By SaharaReporters, New York
A group, the Yoruba Intelligence Network said it has uncovered a plot to assassinate some key Yoruba leaders by fifth columnists in a effort to arouse the Southwest region into violence.

A statement by the head of the information bureau of the network, Kunle Aribisala said that prime on the list of the targets are Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka; former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt General Alani Akinrinade and former NADECO chieftain, Dr Amos Akingba.

"Information at our disposal indicates that the group behind the plot has chosen to strike against Dr Amos Akingba on Friday, said the network.

The Network also added that the fifth columnists in their build-up to the heinous acts have sold a dummy to Soyinka months ago through some fake security reports that Boko Haram was planning to eliminate him and other leaders which made him grant an interview to The News magazine where he raised the alarm.

The Network also said that in the last few months, the fifth columnists have tried all they could to create a Boko Haram scare in the South West through all kinds of false alarms.

"Their failure to achieve a precipitate action in the region is the reason they are now eager to eliminate these leaders to provoke violent reactions in the region"

The Network equally alleged that the news of a container expulsion at the Tin Can Port on Monday which was broken on AIT but suppressed in the media since then has forced it to cry out on these plots " part of the facts that we gathered was that an explosion would take place at Tin Can before these strikes"

It asked the people of the South West to look closely at a report planted in all newspapers in Nigeria a few days ago that a detention centre for Boko Haram members was to be built in Lagos.

"Who planted this story and to achieve what? Was it to prepare an excuse for strikes in the name of Boko Haram in South West? Are we seeing an orchestrated plan to create a war situation in the country by precipitating violence in a big nation like the Yoruba to achieve some sinister agenda by other people? These are posers to ponder on"
