With the Northwest having 7 states and being the region with the highest number of registered voters, coupled with the fact that they are conservatives and always have their reasons for supporting any candidate, the region has become a beautiful bride in the run on to the 2023 presidential elections. Same with Northeast to an extent.

Now, most of Peter Obi’s traducers have always dismissed his chances of victory because of how poorly they think he’d perform in these two regions . Hence the question, “can Obi win without them?”

To help us answer this question properly, we would have to consult history a little bit. And in doing so, we would have to check through their voting pattern since the return to democracy in 1999.

In 1999 they voted for Obasanjo.

But from 2003, they found a ‘messiah’ in Muhammadu Buhari who they continually voted for until he eventually became president in 2015.

So in 2003, Northwest and Northeast voted Buhari but Obasanjo still won.

In 2007, it was two northerners on the ballot so they canceled themselves out.

In 2011, the two regions returned to regional voting pattern and voted massively for Buhari but Jonathan still won.

In 2015, it took the coming together of Buhari, Obasanjo, IBB, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Atiku, Kwankwaso, Saraki, Tinubu, and almost all living Nigerian elite, to defeat Jonathan by a margin of 3,000,000 votes.

As in the 2023 elections draw near, these men have gone their separate ways. Atiku is now PDP candidate, Kwankwaso is NNPP candidate, Tinubu is APC is candidate while Obasanjo seems to have found a bride in Peter Obi.

Every pundit agrees and knows that Peter Obi is strong in Southeast, Southsouth and North Central will not do badly in Southwest too.

What this means is that the other three candidates are now left to battle for votes from the region which ordinarily has not really been a deciding factor in elections considering that Two presidents emerged without their support.

Lastly, with Obi having chosen his running mate from there, about 25% votes might be coming from that region for Obi which would all sum together to mean yes, Peter Obi can win the presidency without the votes of northwest and northeast where Atiku, Kwankwaso and Tinubu will cancel themselves out.

Forget the media stunt, Northern Christians will prefer northern Muslims than voting for southern Christians. Maybe you don't know that northern is always supporting northern irrespective of their religion. In the northern states, their religion is the first priority before their tribe.

You are talking of a larger population of the southern population in northern states, combining all southern population in all northern states, they are not up to an Almajiri in local government in Kano state.

In northern states, you can predict any election now until a week before the election because the last Friday to the election is the time the imam will announce their preferred candidate, all the analysis will not work until a week before the election before you can predict the election.

Here in kano kwankwaso already have this whole kano and majority of all north west states even though Atiku still have a lot of followers here.

5. Northerners are simple people who just want to do their activities without anyones interference, but we have seen how Kanus campaign of hate has led to the killing of many northerners and the destruction of their business most a times for no cogent reason.

Just like I said, assumptions being passed on as fact.

Northerners or Nigerians for that matter are NOT afraid of Igbo presidency, it holds nothing for them to be afraid of.

I see this beer parlor gist about wanting to separate this country as the basis for the north not to support Igbo which happens to be utter garbage. There is no region in this country that lacks the capacity to develop and harness the abundance resources it has. NONE.

The north that you try everyday to say is backward bla bla bla, you have seen through the war in Ukraine why agriculture is such a big thing, northern Nigeria can earn billions of dollars(much more than we currently earn from crude) each year from agriculture.

We import more than $3b worth of rice, more than $1b worth of sugar, wheat and other food products, that can be produced in northern Nigeria. So the lie that if Nigeria breaks up north will suffer is the biggest lie there is.

This is not even talking about mineral resources, for I'm crude to gas, coal, steel, gold, uranium and lots more.

Northern Nigeria has never been reliant on the blue economy from history of over a 1,000 years but if we see the need for that, the Niger can be dredged uptil the Atlantic to pave way for ocean going vessels to be able to verge in kwara, kogi, niger. This will remove any relainace on any part of the south for maritime activity.

Now to the crux of the matter, I have said this time without number, Igbo need to learn to be and live with other people while respecting their way of life.

Igbo presidency is very possible but not when your people make it their point to insult anyone who dares ask them a question, reference point is PO candidacy. They made it an Igbo project that you dare not ask question about, they will tell you that they are doing you a favour and you dare not stand in their way.
