JaroMan: Please effort should be made to rank equals. At least, Datti Baba Ahmed is a senator, just like Shetimma. Compare the two. Peter Obi should only be compared with Atiku and Tinubu. Kwankwaso? Kano state president. It doesn't happen like that. Compare former govs because of the posts they held as CEOs of their states, you can't compare a governor and VP or a governor and a senator, it won't work. |

Saintinoo: Information? Fact?
I stayed 28 years of my life in the Northeast, I know Borno state more than you can imagine, I know about Shettima more than you and his administration. Shettima was ignorantly loved in Borno because of his works against Jonathan government nothing more. He did virtually nothing for Borno state Rather than looting funds donated by International NGOs and US government. Like seriously? I won't lie that I know borno but I know people who know borno like the lines within their palms, its next door to us. I would like to get your opinion on certain things regarding borno. But for a fact, borno coming from SAS who's administration's policy was 'let everyone chop' was not loved by borno who's policy was more of 'let's develop borno', he is seen more of a 'dan boko' by the people because he didn't engage in the kind of politics they used to know. Reference the story of the infamous ecomog boys of SAS. |

ArewaNorth: Shettima inherited a completely terrorised state and as such couldn't do much in infrastructure. Only after 2016 Maiduguri could have sense of reason and serenity to think of rebuilding the state... Oga, shettima did infrastructure self. Won bill and Melinda gates award for best governor in healthcare, can't recall the year though. Won Vanguard newspaper (or is it leadership, can't recall) governor of the year ahead of elrufa'i and wike. So in spite of the terrorism in borno then, kashim tried. From various state of the art hospitals with their respective staff quarters, to standard schools (he even provided school buses for public schools in borno and bicycles to children to raise and encourage kids to go back to school considering the destructive effect of the insurgency), sponsored Borno indigenes to study medicine and related courses abroad, to building houses and resettling villages, not forgetting the support given to the military in terms of hardware and allowances, drafting and supporting CJTF not to talk of his massive investment in mechanised agriculture. All of these while managing a heart wrenching humanitarian crisis that saw over 3 million people displaced (you want to know how difficult that is, ask Ortom of Benue who can't construct road because of fulani herdsmen). I used to have one of this magazines about his administration its sad i cant find it. Its an insult to compare him with someone who's achievements are listed as receiving ambassadors. Shettima is bound and leaps AHEAD of obi. There are no two ways about it. Such a pity we don't have Maiduguri people here, you guys would be blown. |

BloomingDale: 1. No southern state wants Fulani in their land. Does not matter if their intentions are good or not. 2. Fulanis are not indigenous to Nigeria. I don’t want a snake in my house, does not matter if it is poisonous or not. 1. The constitution gives every Nigerian the right to be in any part of Nigeria to conduct legitimate business as long he is not causing harm. 2. This tale been told of Fulani's not being indigenous to Nigeria I think is being taken too far. Fulani's were in Nigeria atleast 2 centuries before Nigeria was formed, how do you still term them not indigenous? How long does one has to be in the area presently known as Nigeria to be termed indigenous? Almost all tribes in Nigeria, from their folklores and tales would tell you that they migrated from a certain place. Why single out the Fulani? I want to have meaningful discussions please. |
Politics › Re: WATER BILL: NO LAND IN BENUE ORTOM VOWS TO RESIST FG’S BILL CEDING NIGERIA BY... by SU50: 12:33pm On Jul 14, 2022 |
MagicBishop: The states where this Fulani settlements are being created aka RUGA are mainly in the north and was only possible because the state governors (owing to both cultural and political affiliations to the Fulani) agreed to it and unilaterally abused their powers to hand over large swaths of land from the indigenes for this RUGA policy. Zamfara state governor was one if the first to do this followed by Kano State and then later Niger and Kogi uptil now, not one single Fulani vagrant is yet to accept going into their containment zone. The Fulani wants southern lands preferably in the SW and Niger Delta alongside states like Benue and Taraba along the Benue river and high ground areas that are conducive for cattle rearing .
The Fulani is bent on occupying all of the south and this RUGA policy is akin to Jewish Kibbutz farm settlements that led to the heist of Palestinian lands . Had the opportunity of going through this report, the surprising thing is even the parts this paper referred to as 'contentious parts of the bill' do not look so contentious. I think we are reading too much meaning into things that are not. Asides, if Fulani herdsmen apply for land for grazing in the form of ranches, won't the state governments be compelled to provide such land provided there is the land just like any other person that plies his trade: farmers, industrialists etc. I think we should try and look at everything from a rational point of view rather than this sectional and tribal outlook about everything. |

DaddyFreeze2020: These are the unnecessary population that well qualified graduates from Southern Nigeria compete Federal jobs with. Northerners just give birth like animals and expect the Federal Government to provide jobs for them using monies generated from the South. Nigeria needs a President that will take birth control seriously or else Northern Nigeria most especially the Hausa/Fulani will become a serious thorn in the flesh to all Southerners in Nigeria. You mean you need a president that will stop northerners from giving birth because you feel threatened? Well qualified southern youths? Tell me, not the ones on twitter and nairaland showing everyday that they know not difference between east and west. If a person does not know the 'well qualified' southern youths you are referring to, he may fall for that cheap gimmick but thanks to NYSC. Been to places, met people, seen things. We witness the same issue in South Africa when President Zuma started implementing state capture to finance his large family. What amazes me is how someone will sit in his room and manufacture stats or info. What was Matawalle doing before becoming the governor? Do you think people with large families wait for the government to do something for them? The number of people working for government what's their population and what's their proportion to people with large families? So, in your world, anyone with such a big family can only be 'looting'? |

4ward4: No any K-Leg, familiarize your self with the law requirements to become a president . No be by number, their is a second point attach ,if I remember 2/3rd of the total states needs to be won. Before drafting the laws they definitely know population can never be evenly distributed and they make it Enugu is equal to Kano win . No matter how many population kano can pull, logically just what the second requirement implies. It have been a rear case and haven't happened yet tho, but in the case where Apc gets 20milliin votes from the North and winning Just 12 states in total and LP gets 2million votes and was able to win 24 states in Nigeria . LP will automatically be declared the winner. The only thing that saved Buhari last election was a Win from Kogi and other North Central States. If not the millions he pulled from Kano won't even Save his Ass. The law is deeper and encompasses every states with no atom of Cheating. They will never tell you this, but instead some useless modafucker in the North will be Chest beating that they have population...E no mean for election. You make sense, until you stopped. I believe the law states: get the highest number of votes AND 2/3 of votes in 24 States. |
