TheGoodJoe:

I am making you understand what the term modern football means. Is Amunike trying to teach the coaches how to park bus or his teaching them the revolutionary approach in coaching the game today.

When we talk of Cruyff being the father and inventor of the modern game, is it park bus being referred to or defending and counter attacking?

People like Pep, Klopp, Tuchel, Erik Ten Hag are pure disciples of the modern football.
Modern football is not possessive football infact very few teams play possessive football, Atletico won their league with defensive football, Inter won with Counter attacking football, teams will continue to play and have success with football styles that are not possessive football the problem is that you are unaware of a whole lot of football outside possessive football, so no Amunike being a disciple of possessive football is not a qualification he has to show his mettle on the pitch

Speaking yesterday, Amuneke revealed: “I will be engaging with coaches in three cities in Nigeria and I’m looking forward to it. I love sharing knowledge and there’s a lot in modern football to expose these coaches to.

“I hope the coaches come with an open mind to learn a lot because I’m prepared to bless them with some fantastic details about the latest techniques in modern coaching.”

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2021/07/29/amuneke-to-train-coaches-in-three-nigerian-cities/

What do you think Amunike is talking about?
Look at some of the top coaches in England. Guardiola, Klopp, Tuchel, Rodgers. Many of them are adapting their plays to the foundation of the game laid by Cruyff.

When we talk of modern football strategies, it is the art of playing with more creative flare, keeping the ball, tactical passing breakdown.

Yes teams might adopt some dark art strategies to win but that is not the basis of modern football coaching.

Amunike has it. Rohr doesn't.
Are you giving me a speech from Amunike to show me that he has the qualifications to coach Nigeria?

Skillful players will find it easy in Seria A

There is no fast paced football
You're not under pressure to release the ball quick

The kind of play gives u room to be calm and relaxed so u can't compare this to what obtainable in the epl. Same Anguissa may struggle in the epl with this kind of play
Why are you insulting Osimhen undecided

Is it by 1990 and Nantes.

Do you even understand modern football. It is aligning with possessive football playing pattern.

Which Rohr for years in Nigeria shows he can not offer that.

In this era most clubs are aligning to modern football, we are doing ourself a disservice working with a coach that can not offer it.
Modern football is not possessive football you are exposing your lack of football knowledge, most teams still play counter attacking, defensive and attacking football and have been successful with it

Because he was working without quality players and not playing pack bus football. Instead trying to teach them how to play better.

Unlike you, I respect him for that.

He can easily park bus and hope for results but he believes in good play and can make us play better.
Playing good football with sub-par players does not equate to conceding loads of goals, it shows lack of awareness and tactical discipline and it exposes Amunike as a bad coach

What is the CV, CV before France 98? Is that what you want to use for modern football?

Do you know what 98 is? Zidane was still a young footballer. Michael Owen was a teenager.
I don’t know how you came up with 98 but Rohr has been around in modern football has a solid cv to show for it, Amunike would have to come up with more than a disastrous outing in Tanzania to even be compared

And they sacked him after conceding a bucket of goals at Afcon, if that is who you are advocating for the SE job then you got it wrong

Which CV did Rhor have to merit the Super Eagles job?

If it is by CV, Guardiola would not have coached Barcelona.
Rohr has a cv that dwarfs Amunike in comparison, because Guardiola coached Barca doesn't mean a coach shouldn't have a sufficient cv to take over the Eagles job

This is what Rohr means when he says my young team. More than half of our national team players have little international experience and this is why we are struggling.
What of Ekong, Balogun, Musa, Ndidi, Iwobi and co?

What am saying is simple Rohr should do the talking not Pinnick and he must tell us the reason why he must recall Ighalo.

Subzero just agreed with my comment and let move on.

Pls tell me where you see any FA boss in Europe talking about players invitations talk less of a retired player.

My man it's solely responsibility of a coach not FA boss or whosoever.
FA bosses talk about players invitations and what they want no be Napoli president announce Osimhen before his club? The main koko be that the main decision on player invitations and recalls rests with Rohr

I think it should be the responsibility of a coach to come out and make such statement that he wants Ighalo back not FA boss

Amaju Pinnick can't try such with Clemens Westerhoff,Bonfrere Jo even with Keshi and Oliseh.

Rohr to me look like simp.
How would the coach go to the press and say he wants a player back what would it achieve, no be una say a coach should be discreet in his dealings

As I said, it is Pinnick's life and tenure. He can run it the way he wants.
Not you calling Pinnick corrupt while advocating for Maigari, can you beat your chest that the U17 and U20 under Maigari's tenure had a better preparation than Pinnick's tenure which is actually the work of the NFF president, the person who takes the credit for our age grade successes is the Coach, Maigari happened to be his boss

Sir,apart from Super eagles 2018 WC qualification and afcon 2019 bronze Pinnick Amaju has not done much for Nigeria football and football development is bigger than Super eagles.

I think his tenure has not run out so let's wait and see...
You mean apart from all our major tournaments and qualifiers? What do you think is Pinnick's job again, I accept he messed up with the appointment of the under age coaches but apart from that Pinnick has done a glowing job as the NFF president

Sometimes, I wonder how you lots think on this Forum sometimes??
So you want Pinnik to be showing/posting his everyday move on the internet for all to see??
If he goes to Mr. A, he snaps pictures and tell you.
Goes to Mr. B, snap pictures and post, abi?
If not for the pictures posted online would you know he was on visit to UK, talk less meeting with the players?
Be guided bro, something are better kept secret till they mature.
Just the same way he met Abraham...after those lengthy and assuring discussions, what was the outcome??
A man who calls himself a Man must have a level of decency coupled with oath of secrecy, that put you ahead of your peers.
If Pinnick no snap dey say he's not doing anything, if he snaps they say he is advertising his moves and not doing it codedly grin
