First stop the lie about zero minutes. Abi he scored against Ghana without playing?
I remember now, Finidi gave him 20 minutes and played Iwobi in his stead

Lookman played in the first two matches.

There was nothing mind boggling, we can't say friendlies are for trying out things with one side of our mouth and say we should use starting 11 from the other side.
By trying out new things you mean Simon Moses, if a new coach gives you zero out of 180 minutes when you are in form how would you rate him

Nothing mind boggling. It was a friendly for God's sake.
And what was the rationale behind giving Lookman zero minutes in his first two matches and giving the minutes to Simon Moses not even a rookie

Would have loved for him to stay a bit longer though and try to save his reputation. Now everybody will always remember him as the guy who lost to Benin Republic in a WC qualifier.

Many will blame the NFF for hiring him in the first place but I think his employment was justifiable.

Poor knowledge of tactics failed him. The argument that he didn't have time to get used to the team is a bad one since he served as an assistant coach on this same team during the AFCON, watching them at close range. Any coach worth his salt would have transited seamlessly into the head coach role.

Good riddance anyways. If he knows what's good for him, he should go on some coaching refresher courses before taking his next gig because he clearly still has a lot to learn tactically.
I've never seen someone contradict himself so much

Make I just believe say na sensationalism because na that same tabloid carry report say Lookman say Finidi no like am.

Because if this thing true dem suppose wipe am slap for bearbear! Osimhen who played through abdominal discomfort at AFCON and has in representing NG suffered injury that took him out for months is who anyone wants to paint bad!?
This is not far from the truth because giving Lookman zero minutes in his first two matches was mind boggling when the other option was Moses Simon

They should consult top players ke sad

That's like saying you consult your kids about which teacher should teach them in school
No they should appoint coaches the players respect, it was evident from their lateness to camp and lackadaisical attitude that they did not respect Finidi

Thank God we don't have to hear how Finidi is the best thing since sliced bread and how his 'Second half against South Africa' was the best football we have ever played in our history

Too many genZ kids here with a sense of entitlement
When we were kids we used to watch World cup with no hope we would ever get there

Pause and imagine

Finidi George was in the first set to play there .
Westerhof joined us in1989. He failed to qualify for the 1990 World cup

They kept faith with him and the rest is history
Even if this team qualify they will be disgraced
Whoever coaches us whether Finidi or not should be given the same space to build a team and forget about the next World Cup

Let us not Forget
It was Peseiro who started this campaign with draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

We need to go back to the same Home based formula that used. This is particularly important with defenders who can play out the ball and midfielders that are creative

For now we should be building for the future
We have not got players
Wait when did we watch the world cup with no hope of getting there

Dr 2 Know what position does Yusuf play and you are comparing him to a forward player.

And please don't take comments out of context. I responded to a claim that Yusuf is is an " All action central midfielder " posted by Subzero.

In that context and all action central midfielder that had scored 3 goals in 75 games, that's ludicrous. If you add his time in Gothenburg he scored twice, where he played 66 games.

That's 5 goals since 2018 for an all action midfielder that is very poor.

When you watch his game it becomes obvious why he is not good enough for the SE.

I will rather Sadiq or Onuachu continue than Ighalo, I mean we were crying to get this man out of the NT and 4 years later we are going back to invite him?

Just a reminder.
We need ighaLos finishing in our attack.
Those chances moffi and Co misses ighalo will putnit away.
He may not be the best attacker but he is our best finisher
We should get him un the team now.
He has the experience and confidence to convert chances.
Not only Ighalo we need Obafemi Martins, can Ighalo still move his body

He's physically strong and good with one-touch football.
Is he the ideal no 10??
Only time will tell...
These are the qualities of strikers and wingers, does he have the ability to create for others, if not let's put him in the position to utilize his physical abilities

I have a feeling that Finidi might start Onuachu against Benin just to spite his critics, based on his post match rants
Lol I'm betting money on that grin, and I believe his reasoning won't be to spite people it'll be that he thinks he's the best striker we have available

It is not. I have always loved the atmosphere in SA, maybe due to their stadiums. We always play better in SA. Still remember Uche Nwofor's backheel
Is there any evidence to backup your statement because from the stats SA have not lost in any of their last 3 visits to Nigeria but magically we will be favorites in their home turf?

Rubbish - 😔 all action midfielder.

He is too poor to be in the SE , he is simply a water 💦 carrier that huffs and puffs but doesn't blow any House 🏠 down.

No inventive and creativity in his game AT ALL plus very very limited sorry 😐 no skill.

Tell me how many goals he has scored in his entire professional career please 🙏🏿 ❓ 74 games in Belgium league 3 goals 🥅 CHEI.

You are trailing in the game you need goals and you don't bring on a player like Onyedika who can battle in midfield has aerial dominance and can drive the team forward.

After this one good point , the doubters now knows what the fuss plus fuss is about Fisayo he is a baller. Right from his Manchester city days.
Bro it's sarcasm, calm down

For some unknown reasons, I feel more confident playing against SA in SA than playing against them in Nigeria. There is this feeling and atmosphere when we play in their stadium.

No they did not, what happened when the result was in balance, the better team dominated, reset the match and you'll get the same result

I think the starting 11 should now be the team that played the 2nd half to the end. There was purpose and a bit of seriousness as we took over the midfield from the bafana boys. Kudos to the boys. Gap no far too much. The group is now very open
The reason we played well in the second half btw was that SA has already gotten the result they wanted and gone into defensive mode, if results were still not favorable they would have further exposed our disorganization and lack of compactness in midfield like they did in the first half
