It’s the “end product” we can support our players without being delusional. Moses simon end product needs to improve to become a world class player and dribbling isn’t enough
Are you saying Doku has better end product? I swear Moses Simon would do better than Doku in a Man city side

I think Xabi Alonso was robbed of the Best Coach of the year award.

Bayer Leverkusen won the club's first Bundesliga title after going unbeaten through out the season ,
They won the DFB Pokal, and only lost one game (the Europa League final) in 53 games last season 😮

Has any coach ever had such a fantastic record in a season?
In the end he won the Bundesliga and the German cup, you don't compare it to a coach who won the Champions league, Spanish league and Spanish super cup, heck considering league standings he's not even achieved more than Pep who won a more difficult league

I just wrote out Lookman's performance too. What was Foden's performance for England at the Euros?

If na by this your write-up, at least 7 Man City players should be in top 10.
How many Man city players won player of the year and scored 28a in the league? , the point is that Foden performed better than Lookman in the past year

Seriously. I'm still confused.

Ademola Lookman:
▶️ Played four finals only this year.
- AFCON (performed well)
- Coppa Italia (performed well)
- Europa League (performed historically and won it)
- Super Cup (highest rated Atalanta player that night)
▶️ First human to score a hat-trick in the Europa League final since its inception.
▶️ Seventh player to score a hat-trick in any UEFA competition final, which the last person to do so did in 1974-75 season.
▶️ Led Atalanta to winning their first European trophy EVER and their second major trophy since the Coppa Italia win in 1962-63 season.
▶️ AFCON silver medalist 🥈
▶️ Coppa Italia silver medalist 🥈
▶️ Europa League winner and Finals Man of the Match 🏆
▶️ Super Cup silver medalist 🥈
▶️ One of the best wingers in world football currently.

But somehow, Foden is in the top 10 and Lookman's not.

Till evening sha 😐
Wait are you comparing Foden that won a premier league with 27ga, 8a in the champions league,Man city player of the year, Epl player of the year, Players player of the year, Ea sports player of the year, Football writers association player of the year to Lookman?

Lookman performed decently but he was not as good as Foden

It's not safe to win this kind of match, I remember the world cup qualifiers against Algeria under Rohr that I was concerned about the safety of the SE because it seemed like we were about to win it until the ref gave a dodgy penalty against us (probably for his safety as well)

The fact that Alex is our 10 makes me question our coaches a player that hasn’t played the number 10 role since he left the academy it’s just 😆 funny o

Alex is not him, the flair, the eye for a pass, and the from time screamer doesn’t come from him

The fact that our coaches aren’t breeding any number just shows they wanna keep this core group tiger and are afraid to experiment
Whenever Iwobi misses one shot on target all these talks surfaces, go and re-watch that match against Libya almost all our good chances he was involved in one way or another, maybe when you judge him as an AM and a creator rather than a CF and a finisher you will appreciate him more

Would you guys be comfortable with Eguavoen leading the team in the world cup qualifiers next year, and why? give your honest reasons

I personally would prefer Eguavoen leading the team. He's not perfect but he seems to command the love, respect and confidence of this team- and more often than not those are the components you need as a coach to be successful...Eguavoen has always been a decent coach with so far the best winning ratio among the list of coaches who have managed us so far based on stats (and I stand to be corrected), his only nemesis has been in knockout phases of major tournaments,he just seems to have that unlucky mojo of never getting far in tournaments.

Right now except we get a genius foreign coach in the mould of a Pep Guardiola, then I can't trust the odds of this team under any random journeyman oyinbo coach in squeezing us through our current world cup group wahala...I get the feeling that even the popular Herve Renard saw and analyzed our precarious world cup situation when contacted and then chickened out, none of the European coaches seemed to want the coaching job.

Eguavoen is the best shot we have at the moment, and every support has to be given to him from the fans and the NFF for him to succeed.
I'm not 100% on Eguavoen but he has his good qualities

1) he is not afraid of substitutions and he uses a lot of subs ( I think he has used 3+ subs for all the matches he coached)

2) He makes in match tweaks to affect the state of the game (switching Lookman and Moses wings for more creativity)

3) He is not afraid of experimenting (He has played 3 at the back, 4 at the back, Lookman as an inside forward, Lookman as a winger, Lookman and Boniface as double strikers late against Libya)

4. He is MILES better than Finidi

A right footer still dey try small small. Left footers are worst. They don't want to use that leg at all.

One day i was watching UCL, pre match workout camera showed Arjen Robben doing throw and jab. The trainer throws and he jab with left very easy and sweet. The moment the guy throw to his right, he bundles the ball away.

In that Chukwueze scenario Lukaku would have blasted that ball and scored at the near post.

Van persie would not need to turn to the left.
Again bias, if the ball has fell to the left feet of Lookman or Iwobi you would have no problem with them shifting it to the right to shoot, there are right footed players that are good with their left but overall left footed players use their right foot more than right footed players use their left due to more pressure

Ndidi and Onyeka in midfield cannot progress the ball meaning that Iwobi has to drop deep leaving the front three on their own, expect a low scoring game
Solace Chukwu expanded more on this point, the Libyans had a soft center that we completely ignored to cross repeatedly from the flank, if we had incisive passing through the middle we would have scored 2 or more

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzerooo: 9:04am On Oct 12, 2024
We usually dog on left footed players like Chukwueze for not using their right but this usually comes from a place of bias lol because how many right footed can comfortably shoot with thier left
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Subzerooo: 9:33pm On Oct 11, 2024
Eguavoen should find a way of scoring goals and winning matches without Osimhen because crossing aimlessly won't cut, the Libyans were comfortable with us going to the wings and crossing because most times they are overhit and the few ones that land in the 6 yard box Boniface was not much of an aerial threat to trouble the Libyans

At Tripoli we will encounter the same situation that's when we'll know if Eguavoen is tactical enough to tweak his system and get the best out of Boniface

At 27, Iwobi already has 81 caps for Nigeria. From the look of things, he can still give us another 6 solid years.
He has paid his dues for the SE, what he may lack in consistency he makes up for it in hardwork and dedication, very good boy

How about we play Fisayo as a false 9 then? his ball striking abilities will be more effective there.
How good is he in small spaces because he won't get the space to get off his shot at SS, and he doesn't have any quality to lead the line except pressing, I think his role as super sub am suits him well

Fisayo is a better ball striker but he is no creator like Iwobi. Fisayo can pass and progress plays with quick passes and use his body in duels but he doesn't have as broad a vision of the field like Iwobi does.

Iwobi remains the main man in our creative midfield unit. Fisayo's biggest plus is his ball striking.

We need another creative head in the team.
Brilliant, until we have another creator in the Am area Iwobi is of more importance to the first team than Dele Bashiru
