Premier League Clubs on high alert as Real Madrid midfielder, Mateo Kovacic, is set to leave

Real Madrid and Croatian player, Mateo Kovacic, has hinted that he wants to leave the Spanish league over insufficient playing time.

Kovacic prior to joining Real Madrid at a sum of £30 million was one of the best players in the Seria A league where he played for Inter Milan.

But ever since joining Real Madrid, he has been sidelined and didn’t get much playing time during the reign of ex coach, Zinedine Zidane.

As the ex French coach had preferred using the trio of Luka Modric (who is Kovacicfellow countryman)Toni Kroos and Casemiro.

But since the resignation of Zinedine Zidane, many had expected the 24 year old Croatian to stay put at Real Madrid as the coming of a new coach could give him a better player chance.

However,  a frustrated Kovacic insisted he is leaving Real Madrid and the Spanish league for a better playing time.

So far,  Kovacic has 37 appearances for Real Madrid in 3 years and he seems dissatisfied.

Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in the player.

And there are possibilities other top Premier league clubs would show interest as Mateo Kovacic has put up a dynamic performance for his home country, Croatia during the ongoing 2018 world cup in Russia.
