I have couple of resources and I also subscribe to some mentorship groups like Scrimba, FrontEnd mentors, plurasight, a bootcamp in IB where i do study when I am not home, YouTube, Twitter tech feeds etc... I currently have a friend in Decagon bootcamp who motivates me and help me in following up Decagon rigourous standards (minimum of 10-16hrs daily drilling).

I started JS about 2 months and I have been able to build a contact application to save phone numbers and some 1-4 small projects. I will start Reactjs by August.... Fullstack is the journey but for now, full focus on Frontend-ReactJs and JS and to get familiar with Backend (Nodejs & MDB) before December...

I have always abided by this policy and it had been working out till now......

This is going to be a lengthy post but please read, I need all the help and advice I can get.

Last year, I got a job by manipulating my CV and being punctual to an interview, but amazingly it provided an opportunity where I could learn on the job, I am a fast learner so I crossed that bridge easily.

I had access to a work laptop and unlimited internet (all through my years in school, I didn't own a laptop , so this is a big deal for me). I thought of the limitless things I could learn online which I couldn't do before, I finally settled on my old time love, programming

I started learning coding on my phone in 2017 but along the line, I got frustrated and stopped, it wasn't easy without a laptop. Then in 2018/2019, a man on Twitter started an initiative Laptop4Developers, which provided aspiring coders with laptop and a learning environment. NOTE : emphasis on "aspiring". It was the maiden edition and I joyously entered the DM of the guy, spoke at length, told him I was interested and he laid down the conditions of which he only told me I had to get sponsors and RT; people who were going to donate money. I solicited far and wide for support on Twitter. I was living and breathing on Twitter for more than a month , RTing all the posts and commenting, when I didn't even have data, I borrowed, in a hope that I'd win. I finally found someone to sponsor me and he donated money, albeit not enough money to buy a new laptop but he did . I checked the GoFundMe page, all other sponsors were foreign philanthropists.

Long story short, we even exceeded the target , and he increased the number of potential winners . I smiled knowing after all my hard work I was going to get one.
This was when magic happened. Lol

Thats the thing about lies. When you start, you just have to go deeper into it. You probably should have lied say a week in that your laptop was stolen or something and asked if they could help you get one you can use for the main time.

You were on Zuri, did you do any designs during that period that you posted online? If you have any keep them handy. Because you will be asked what you have done. Try coming up with some graphic design as quickly as possible. Since you don't have a pc, you can use canvas on mobile. Try to create as many designs as you can. And if possible build a story around it. Like for example you could say I used this colour to portray the light and fun essence of the brand and stuff like that. Interviewers really like good designs but they also like a good reasoning or story behind it.

Make at least 2 or 3 designs with this in mind. You should be fine. Also try to watch YouTube videos to relearn the basics of designs in case you are asked questions on it. Try learning the basics of one design tool. Maybe Illustrator, photoshop or something. As you may be asked which one you use.

Lastly you have to address your lack of pc. You can tell a lie with a little bit of truth blended in there. You can say it was stolen a few weeks after your conversation with the guy that referred you. And also add that you didn't say anything because you were ashamed just as you said you were initially in your post.

Try not to be too scared going to the interview, just relax they can't kill you. Highest you will be fired, and thats not the end of the world. Just go in relaxed state your case clearly don't over elaborate or explain things. Answer what is asked and end it there. Most times you dig yourself a dipper hole trying to over explain things. Try lieing close to the truth, it makes it easier to keep your story straight. Good luck you will be fine though so don't panic.

Have you been able to fix it? Well I had similar problem too. And trust my network was strong but for some reason it just didn't download completely always stopping at one point or the other. So I just abandoned the updater all together and downloaded from here https://c.mi.com/miuidownload/index

Something I had spent almost 2 hours trying to download with updater, I downloaded it and updated afterwards in less than 20mins. So if you haven't successfully download the update. Use the link above, select your phone and search for your miui version, you should see the latest one there. Just download it then install it.

To install after downloading. Go to the updater that is settings>about phone>system update. Click the option and select "choose update package". If its not there don’t worry, just click on the miui logo several times until you see a prompt. After which you should see it in the options. Click on it and search for the downloaded rom, select it and follow the prompts to install.

Had the same issues oh, my own will download reach like 50% then stop, will have to restart again. Am talking download speed of 500kbps. I just waited till night when network would be much better b4 I was able to download it. But you can try out Apk pure as the guy above suggested.

I don't use any of those Infinix or TEcno phones but I just feel having 6GB+ RAM and those huge processors on a cell phone is an overkill, totally uneeded.

It's just a cellphone man, I'm yet to find justification for why a cellphone should be stocked with such heavy resources except of course when gaming is involed, which should be played at home on a console .

Its peoples choice to play game on their phones and not on console. I have a ps4 but I still play pubg on my phone from time to time. All na personal preferences. So don't come here to try to impose your narrative on anyone. No one is forcing you to buy these types of phones.

Heck get a touch light phone(afterall na cell phone), get a laptop for browsing, a camera for pictures and a console for games. Nobody go kill you. Allow us buy wetin we want afterall na free world.

I have defended Xiaomi in the past but this wasn't the case here. I was only providing you with an hack based on the reality on ground.

I am the kind of person that likes going for what he truly wants. From your previous posts it sounded like you would have gone for a better phone than RN8 if it had the sd card. So I was like there is otg there na no reason to get anything lesser than what you really want.

Then I asked, why not get a laptop instead? Most of the tech pple I know are know are more focused on the strengths of their laptops than their phones. But I do know know a guy who makes amazing graphic design with his phone. That's why I asked. Out of nowhere someone else that my reply wasn't tailored to, jumped on it and you know the rest.

Xiaomi is great but I don't follow blindly. And I personally don't feel the sd card is necessary. That's my own opinion and I do hope you respect that just the same way I have come to respect yours. 256gb is too much for me. And based on statistics I believe this is true to most average phone users. That's why you see IPhone, Xiaomi and other brands are not too keen on the sd card. Because average phone users make up more than 80% of phone sales.

You are in a minority to be honest. You can freely petition xiaomi or whatever brand you like that don't use SD cards for their top phones or better yet go for Samsung. But to come here and guilt trip me into accepting your narrative just because we are "African brothers" is not something that brings me positive vibes. Just because you have your opinion on the matter doesn't mean we must all accept it and unite with you against phone brands. I don't share your views and that doesn't make my opinion anyless important than yours, that I have to drop it and blindly unite with you

But since you clearly like Xiaomi and don't want to go for Samsung at least for now then using otg isn't that bad of an idea. But it clearly sounds like you don't buy this idea, so get the RN8 instead for now till you get enough cash to get a Samsung phone that will give you everything you personally want. Case closed!

I have two 48TB NAS drives at the office plus dozens of other portable hdds and ssds.
My laptop has a total of 4TB SSD.
Got a couple of thumb drives, even from my oga here Jboixxx and baba when i tell you I need that large internal storage on a phone, I have my reasons, music and videos aside.

1st off I didn't quote you, so my advice wasn't for you in any way. The person I quoted said he's a tech person and deals with huge files. Hence my advice about the laptop and otg. If your preference is to watch videos and listen to music I see no reason why a 256gb phn shouldn't be enough to satisfy you.

And getting a laptop with a massive HDD size is in no way a bad advise. You can store your old videos there, allowing more space on ur phn for newer ones.

The slim lightweight laptop was an advice to him. Since he is mostly on the go and this will be easier for him to carry along not putting too much strain on his back. In my opinion laptop are better than phones in handling tech stuff. And he can get external hard disk if he needs more space.

SD Cards fragile or not durable?! Na those fake roadside own? Talking experiencially, I've lost more phones and harddisks to irreversible crashing than SD Cards. Oh Boy! Very rescillient Invention that should not be taken off the Plate. In fact non of my original SD Cards has ever spoiled. Also, uploading to Cloud is a good idea, which I regularly do too. But what happens when you saved all your life in Cloud and got locked out? I've lost a Some vital Accounts for forgtting Password. I believe many of us must have lost access to an email or fb we created before. I once lost a vital Account due to sudden change of IP when I travelled abroad. Also, what happens when you travel to an area without Internet or you don't have enough to buy Data but need access to you vital large files? Truth is the place of SD Card in mobile Tech can never be undermined. Samsung is wisely really cashing in on the modern monopoly. We call on Xiaomi to step in!

Life is not hard really, you can get an otg storage device if you like. Some come with sd card spots too. Or get an otg extender where you can connect ur flash to your phone. That way you can get the device u really want and with all the extra space you need. But seriously tho, why not get a slim lightweight laptop that you can carry anywhere in your backpack.
