Independence? I av had dat since my secondary days, but yet I don't believe it was necessary to leave her apt then, maturity supercede independence in dis case study + money factor!

... Been staying alone since I got admitted to the university, my single mom always trust my judgments as a guy and despite I'm the only person staying with her. By GODs grace, I intent saving up to rent an apt immediately after my nysc or probably move to a friend's place. Tho I'm in my final year now.
Never should a man return to his parent after his nysc max! Except for some exceptional reasons, I believe evrything would fall into place with time. U still check on the steadily but outta their place.

#my take.

FYI, u can only port in or out after 90 days of your last port out or in. No network would go down, this would only intense healthy competition and the bargaining power of we subscribers becomes greater.

Music/Radio › Re: African Queen Or Oliver Twist: Which Song Is More Internationally Acclaimed? by sunboy(m): 5:50pm On Mar 04, 2013
Some people and bad bella! I will give to to African Queen!!! For the reasons...

1. Compare the years, imagine the popularity of that song then when naija still dey grow, compared to now that our industry has grown.

2. It won MTV europe award, Oliver didn't

3. If u compare video u b mumu, like I said compare the time.

4. Dbanj already had fans around the europe esp UK even before the hit song. 2face was only know around the world after that first hit song.

5. African queen launched a new era of Naija music recognision around the world, thanks to Queen Latifah's movie dats a +, while Oliver continues from where it started.

6. African queen is an evergreen song, Oliver twist is only a contemporary dance song!

What else is your basis of comparismhuh

Celebrities › Re: Zuckerberg Donates $500 Million To Charity by sunboy(op): 9:08pm On Jan 02, 2013
The top givers were:

Warren Buffett: $3.09 billion in stock to be divided equally among three foundations run by his children

Mark Zuckerberg: $498.8 million to Silicon Valley Community Foundation to support education and health

Paul Allen: $300 million pledge to the Allen Institute for Brain Science

Mortimer Zuckerman: $200 million pledge to the Columbia University's Mind Brain Behavior Initiative

Fred Fields: $150 million bequest to Oregon Community Foundation to support art and education

Carl Icahn: $150 million pledge to Mount Sinai School of Medicine for medical research

Three of those top gifts were announced in December - either a good sign for 2013, or an effort to avoid the effects of the fiscal cliff.

Travel › Re: West Africa Tour by sunboy(m): 10:30am On Dec 19, 2012
Well let me just hint u, on a budget level. A good average hotel, say 2-3 star in Benin republic say 2-3k depends on area, cotonou, port novo area say 3-5k.
In Ghana, book 4-6k above, except if u want luxury ooo. Hotels of dat range are of same or higher standard of dat price range in naija too.

Don't know of togo.

Food is super cheap in Benin, and they won't cheat you. A highend food in most big restaurants go for 400-500 per plate, such food worth 2k here. That's for my kinda food oo, jollof rice, big friend fish, plantain, coslow (spelling), green bean (dey like it there), green leaves( dey like it too). Dey cook nice spag too, dos French colonies sabi spag wella, goes for 200-300 for standard plate. Naija foods plenty wella sef, if you can speak Yoruba then you have no issue with french, 7 out of 10 people speak and understand Yoruba, 5 out of 10 sabi pidgin small.

Ghana; u can find Mr Biggs if u want eatery tins, but plenty naija foods too. There bread n omelette are nice, kenke wit octopus or fish nice too. There jollof rice usually has too much tomatoe paste though. Budget 3-5 cedi for good.

Dunno about togo.

To save money and enjoy more adventure go by bus, either with buses like ABC to cotonou via seme route ( to avoid to beninois(spelling) custom extortion n harrasement if you don't know their tricks or follow idi-iroko route then get a bus to cotonou that's hassle free. They only ask for your ID and yellow card at worse, and ppurpose of entering no troubles over there.

I hope this helps, dis is based on my experience.

ojdollars: @mr-cali .... Read my post well.. I only said Fashola is heading in the right direction... How many people in Nigeria Pay their taxes? Do they dig Borehole in Lagos? No... The last time I was in my Uncle's House in Adeniji Adele Dolphin Estate area.. They use the water supplied by the City water board... So what are you talking about? Travel › Re: Information: Travelling To Ghana by sunboy(m): 8:26am On Nov 28, 2012
@ fsb; there is need for yellow card. ABC always charge extra 1k for first timer and 1k if you do not have yellow card, you may not know bt ABC scale you thru. That's one reason why I enjoyedd my trip to Ghana wit dem back in 2010, no custom troubles.

I am not sure of the current status bt it goes for about 350k d last time I checked.
They give it out on installmental pay, depend on ur agreement say 450-550k to be paid within an agreed time say 6-12months.

Business › I Need Info On Taxi Biz Please by sunboy(op): 11:34am On Nov 18, 2012
I have been thinking about buying a car to give someone to use as taxi but I don't know how it works.
Is it installment based where the car belongs to the driver after he paid some agreed amount (like d Okada and Keke napep)

or daily delivery based? Where I still own the car but earn a certain agreed amount daily.
Please advice me about is viability!
I am hoping to raise upto 300-400k to start this up.

Is 300k to 400k enough to get a car?

What kind of car suit this business?

Please help a fellow nairalander!!!

amber222: d outcome of ds act will not be good 4 d pple in dt area.d other gang of d killed robbers may reinforce like they did in bariga years back when a robber was killed in dt community.lots of innocents pple paid 4 it.they shld hv hand them over to d police.i pity mushin pple.
Do you mean Mushinhuh Well I was born, bred n still living in Mushin. Just last week I went home, there is a case of robbery in 3 different houses samenight.

What people don't know about Mushin is that, Mushin boys might go to steal outside but do not ever ever steal within Mushin. The only measure to curb it is beating to death, Mushin still remain the safest in terms of robbery, the highest anybody can do is pick pocket and never point a gun at you. Even if a pick pocketer is caught, his fellow thieves would join hand to beat him to death.

The state govt has helped us curb the everyday inter-sect fighting, now its all something of the past with the new measures Fashola put in place.

pendulasis: from lagos to benin republic if you go through seme to their major market topa/misebo you will see more of black market than filling station i can only account for one filling station on the rout don't know why
Yes you are right but when I was in Benin I asked the people, they said there filling stations don't sell to the people only the government officials and banks, that dos black markets buy in bulk from them and from naija then sell to the citizens.
