This is barbaric, I don't really ve issues with the illiterate idiots that perpetrated the killing but the stupid fellow students in the scene who could not do anything (like stopping them or reporting to the police) to save the situation instead of recording the dastardly act on their mobile phones.

1. How easy is securing a PhD admission and possibly with scholarship bearing in mind that I don't really have an outstanding academic records?
2. I am married with a kid, will I be given the Student VISA if I want to travel with my wife and leave my daughter as home tie?
3. How is life generally and standard of living over there, will we be able to cope (a student having a spouse with him)?
4. What is the chances of my wife getting a job and possibly admission into Masters program too(she read food science at first degree level and has a PGD certificate in same field).

I don't think there is any complexity in that, I ve a friend in USA doing it. It's for five(5) years after which he will be awarded a Doctorate degree (PhD). I think they only take applicants that graduated with a first class degree for such.

Idanre hills is in Idanre town (20 minutes drive from akure). You can get so many hotels right there in Idanre you can lodge though I can't remember the name of any of them but I am sure there are about 7-10 hotels on the road with affordable prices (between #3500-#5000 per room) but if you want to lodge in Akure then be prepared to pay like #6000-#8000 per room in a good hotel. Actually, aside Idanre hills I doubt if there is any other popular tourist centre in Ondo state. Nevertheless, you can try Ikogosi warm spring in ikogosi ekiti or Erin-ijesa water fall in Erin-ijesa, Osun state.

It can be done in five years if my supervisor is the one supervising you. But, he only take his ex-masters student for PhD. All the same, the motive behind opening this thread is to get information for a standard Doctorate degree abroad. We still welcome more info and links.

Will surf thru this link now too. Another good option is; peradventure one is not that financially buoyant, you can decide to start the PhD program in a good university in Nigeria and then get a graduate fellowship with scholarship.

YET there are other pastors that steal from the poor, that buy 4 private jets and are called PAPA and celebrated, they are multi billionaires, some of them have business empires in banking, aviation, energy, printing and their universities were built with tithe money, seeds, offerings etc, and yet these schools are among the most expensive in Nigeria and thus out of reach of most church members who contributed one way or the other in building these universities, some of these pastors and PAPAS slap their church members in public, some of them will tell you to pay good tithes and sow good seed to get good jobs and beautiful wife, yet their followers dont see anything wrong with all these. It is only TB Joshua they complain about??

To me, TB Joshua is no saint, but TB Joshua is by far the best prophet or pastor in Nigeria. His Emmanuel TV is helping and blessing millions of people across the world one way or another. I know 2 dwarfs from my town that are enjoying his university scholarship.

Just imagine, I attended today's Sunday service at my friends church, its one of the most popular churches in Nigeria, and the pastor was saying IF YOU ARE HERE IN THIS CHURCH AND YOU DONT PAY YOUR TITHE, GOD IS GOING TO VISIT YOU WITH CALAMITY, CANCER ETC He was making too much noise about tithing that I had to leave the church in anger. Why not preach about salvation and winning souls for Christ? Why is it always tithing and sowing of seed? GOD DID NOT TELL US THAT TITHING WILL SAVE YOU FROM CANCER OR CALAMITY. OUR GOD IS EVER LOVING, EVER FAITHFUL GOD. PAY ALL THE TITHE IN THE WORLD AND U DONT KEEP THE 10 COMMANDMENTS AND YOU ARE DOOMED...

My yoruba friend was told by his pastor last year to sell off all his things in Port Harcourt and sow a seed of faith so that his wife will not deliver through operation again. guess what, after selling off all his things, including home appliances, generators and wiped off his bank account, the wife still delivered through CS and the guy has now lost his job and now forced to relocate to his village. Yet the church members dont see anything wrong with this kind of pastors, all they go is talk rubbish about the only genuine prophet i know in Nigeria. I have sent many people to Synagogue, some are white friends that have cancer, some are my Ghanaians friends, none of them was asked to pay any cent or tithe or sow any seed to get healing, yet people will sit in their computers and talk rubbish about the best pastor in Nigeria...
