Where they used Nuclear to attain energy efficiency and are now shutting down their nuclear reactors to focus on solar and also purchase from France. However, it is practically impossible to achieve energy independence using solar option.

It is possible to use solar energy as the major source of energy.
I use to think otherwise before i studied physics behind solar technology and did some research and experiments.

The sun use nuclear fusion not fission. Fusion far better than fission. So the problem is uranium based nuclear fission which is not sustainable.
Fusion technology is still in development, of which Africans should join in research, or even on a lower level join thorium based reactor research though it's not the best option.
Advanced battery technology will tackle the problem of storing solar energy for night use, like sodium ion battery, aluminium ion cell, flow cells etc.

Hello, Solar has never been a major source of lower generation in any Nation that can be compared to Nigeria. The tech is an add-on in any country and its damn expensive.

With regards to the case of Nigeria, it can't work, cos we far off from what is required and we need a tested and proven tech to get us there.

Nuclear energy as it stands today is the most reliable and efficient tech in power generation. That can't be taken away. Advancement has made it very safe.

Solar is capable of delivering in Gigawatts today, terawatt with quantum dots though not fully developed, technically nuclear fission is not renewable in long term especially with an exponential growth in demand( a topic of another day). Maybe nuclear fusion can go a long but it's still in development, fossil fuel can be made carbon neutral if things like carbon sinking etc is developed.
If a country is not planning to build nuclear weapons it's a burden to build an old fashioned nuclear fission reactor.
