Congrats Chief on your Interview, you went through a lot with the back and forth cancellations.
To answer your question- UBA transfer rate is higher than Access, and someone mentioned on this forum that UBA doesn’t allow you transfer all your money, you need a minimum balance of 80 to 100 euro. But it might just be his account officer trying to secure deposit. It’s up to you.
HighPriest0:

Guys I have 2 questions

why is everyone seem to be going for access bank for funding.. What's so special about them.

Has anyone used UBA before? I opened a Dom account with them earlier this year and I have been in touch with the guy that opened the account for me That day. From what he has told me, it seems i can give them a try.
What do you think?

Firstly you might have to apply for another Bachelors degree cos Germany doesn’t recognize Hnd for Masters application(Maybe in extreme cases). The new rule states that you can only apply for Cat A, if your first degree( first class & second class upper)is from 2017. Which means any degree from 2016, 2015, 2014 etc can no longer book Cat A. You’d have to apply for Cat B. All applicants from November 2019 must come along with evidence of fully funded (10,232 euro) blocked account. Please take your time to read through the thread.
chika0072:

Thank you for your prompt reply sis.
That means am safe.... With my hnd 2014 and applying next year?

The person shouldn’t let it pass. He/she will be fine. No need to fear. Go for the interview and be confident.
dennisMOD:
Hi bro, I need an info from you. The person has an appointment date already but the Bachelors degree cert was issued before 2017. Would you advise to still go for the interview or just let it pass?

Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Sureboii: 2:48pm On Aug 24, 2019
When you booked in May, the criteria was different, so the new rule doesn’t affect you. Go for your interview. There’s no need to fear. If you’re asked, explain the reason you booked Cat A and you’ll be fine.
vincechyme:
Guys please I would need an urgent reply on this..I applied with category A priority list by may when it was Still first class to 2.2 and my appointment date is this week ...the embassy has stated clearly you must have a proof to show you fall within stated requirement..otherwise your application will be outrightly rejected..guys that have gone for interview do you think this is a problem...please what's the best way to respond to this when asked
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Sureboii: 10:59pm On Aug 22, 2019
You won’t see it in the first page because they’ve not updated it there. but when you proceed like you want to book an appointment you’ll see it. follow this link to see for yourself https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/choose_category.do?locationCode=lago&realmId=347&categoryId=1716
Bamstar007:

Please are you sure of this information. I can’t find on their website
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Sureboii: 10:20pm On Aug 22, 2019
If the person already has a date then they’re good to go for the 2nd bachelors. But moving forward, refer to my last post or better still try and book for an appointment to see the update on their website.
dennisMOD:
Hello everyone, I need to be sure about something. Has anybody successfully had an interview at the German embassy, and booked for an appointment via "Category A", have a Bachelors degree with 2nd class upper and going to study another Bachelors degree program in Germany??

I asked this because someone just got scheduled for an appointment but one of the requirements to be fulfilled reads thus;

"holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Upper Class and being accepted for a master's degree"

Meanwhile, the person wants to go for another Bachelors program, and not masters. So, I just want to know if anyone is in this situation. Thanks.
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Sureboii: 10:06pm On Aug 22, 2019
Update- In Addition to the 1st class and 2:1.
Your Bachelors degree has to be issued after January 2017 to qualify for Cat A.

There might be, 60% of people going for a 2nd bachelors are usually given a test regardless of your field. That's all I could find from the old transcripts. You can research and find someone who was going for a similar course and was given. But don't let it scare you, there's a 40- 60% chance you won't be given a test at all and even if you do it won't be anything crazy. There was someone who failed the test and still got AM.
tiersly:
Bro,
Any test for BA students ?

It's mostly BSc students. I haven't seen a transcript of a masters student who was given a test yet.

Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Sureboii: 3:44pm On Aug 08, 2019
Hey, as long as you don’t have a 3rd class in your first degree you can apply under cat A. I know of someone who was sent back but the VO sent a mail to reschedule and apologized when he came back. He has a 2:2 and was going for bachelors as well. Good luck
CruiseControl:

Hello House....

Hello Deustchemann.... God bless you all!!!

Do you know that I just realised I made a terrible mistake from the beginning. I applied under category B instead of A!

Because based on Sureboii post and success, I should be in Category A even though am going for a second degree. I have a first class already and going for another degree which means I should be under category A. From what I saw on German embassy website, I thought its only those that have first class or second class upper AND GOING FOR MASTERS CAN APPLY UNDER A!

Please what can I do now?

Here is a transcript of my friend who did her interview last week.

Paulinus likes it when you do things the right way. He probably yelled at like five or six people today. My best advice is to arrange your documents as the student visa checklist shows, but make sure you do original then two photocopies. For example Original WAEC certificate, then two copies. You’ll have time to arrange it exactly how he wants, but if you arrange them like this from the hounse it makes things a lot easier. If you do what he says, you should be fine. Also you can drop your cellphone and a REALLY SMALL purse in the lock box in the embassy. I probably didn’t get into the interview till 10:30am and I was about the 10th on the line. Make sure you arrive at least one hour before the time on your appointment letter. Also take at least 3 passport photographs with white background.

Me: Good morning
VO: Goodmorning, What are you Applying for?
Me: student visa
VO: Give me your documents.
VO: category A or B
Me: B, going for Bachelors.
(I applied for a date May 6th, the first day they started the new system)
VO: Have you blocked and funded? And how much?
Me: Yes, €8640.
VO: Your first degree is from the US?
Me: Yes.
VO: You should have included a copy of your US student visa as supporting document, but it’s not a big deal.
Me: oh I didn’t think about it
VO: it’s not an issue. It just helps

Got my biometrics done and I wasn’t sure when the interview proper started because I never picked up the phone. We also got interrupted a few times.

VO: Do you have a certificate from Goethe
Me: Not yet, I’ve written the A1 exam and waiting for my results still, but I’m pretty confident I passed.
Then we talked a little in German
VO: Do you need German for your course?
Me: No, i’ve been learning German, and I just wanted to test my progress.
VO: Why Germany and not the US?
I kinda beat around the bush too much here so she asked me to put it in a single sentence cos she still hadn’t heard a reason. So I answered: so that I can get Great education at a low cost, especially since I already paid so much for my first degree in the US.
VO: Why a second Bsc?
Me: Couldn’t get into the Masters program, I need to get this Bsc in other to continue onto the masters
VO: Do you have kids and are you married?
VO: What is the German national food?
Me: Sausage, bread or I guess brot, beer and I think cheese
VO: Facts about Germany
Me: The chancellor is Angela Merkel, it has a land area of about 357,000 m² and a population of about 82 million, it’s got 16 states, and nine neighboring countries. It’s the largest producer of wind energy in the EU and it plans to phase out its nuclear reactors by 2022, it’s already closed seven or eight of its 17 reactors. The leading party is the Christian Democratic Union with Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer as the current leader since Angela Merkel stepped down as the leader of the party.
VO: What are you doing after your degree?
Me: I plan to come back and continue to work on my company.
VO: What did you do for your Thesis?
Me: I analyzed a business and developed my business plan.
VO: What can you say about the educational system in Germany compared to the US, based on what you’ve heard about Germany
Me: I heard that the course content is more difficult/harder so I’m excited to face the challenge
Me: Have you ever applied for a
visa to any other country from Nigeria?
Me: do you mean the EU?
VO: no, I just want to know the countries you’ve applied to while you were physically in Nigeria.
Me: Told her
VO: Alright
Me: Is that everything
VO: Yep
Me: Alright, thank you!

For everyone trying to get EURO for a blocked account. I got Euro today at 402 after I was initially told 405. (always negotiate and tell them you're buying a lot) . If you've been waiting for a drop, Now is the time before it goes back to 410.

Do not be afraid. The young man who was turned back had no intention of having a blocked account because he had a one-year scholarship, so they told him to fund his blocked account or at least open one before he can be interviewed. Since all applications go to Lagos, he was rescheduled for August. Do not cancel your appointment because you were rightly given Abuja.
MicroMo:
you are scaring me o. I was given Abuja as my venue. Are you telling me they will turn me back?

Please avoid Form A for now. There hasn't been any positive from it so far. Open a Euro Dorm Account or look for someone who has one in preferably Access Bank to prevent any hassle. Right now the Euro is up against the naira in the parallel market so if you have time, you should wait and monitor the situation. it just went from 402 last week to 410. Don't fret cos this is normal. it might go down in the next couple of weeks.

Good morning beautiful people.
I really appreciate the help I have been getting so far here. Thank you all

Am at the process of funding my BA, I learnt that the safest mode of doing that is through bank but it might be costlier. I also observed that a FORM A is need for the transfer in the bank.
My question is, how can one get the FORM A?.

Secondly, what are the possible documents needed while funding d account?

NB, I opened a finitiba account, and intend funding soon but i need possible information on how to do that to avoid mistakes....

Thank you

Please be honest. How many times did you cancel your Cat A appointment?
HighPriest0:

I don't think that's applicable to the new system anymore... Because I can't find such rules on the website and it wasn't stated on my previous appointment mail...
How can I be banned from booking appointment because I canceled two days after I got the date?

I'm still seeing people who booked last week and are yet to get a date.

You canceled your initial booking 6 days before your interview date under Cat A. The rule is to cancel at least 7 days before your scheduled date. You've probably been banned for 2 to 6 months because I booked after you and I have a date. So I don't think Bsc applicants have anything to do with this.
HighPriest0:
Ever since B.Sc applicants began to book under category A, it has become a prayer point and very difficult to get a date.

Officially certifying your documents simply means the office certifying has seen the original document. it has nothing to do with jurisdiction. You can certify at the German embassy, notary public, high court etc.
kingpaddysfarm:
Good morning all!

Since my previous degrees are from the UK and China, do I need to certify my certificates before submitting to the embassy? I was thinking that the Nigerian legal system doesn’t have the jurisdiction to certify my certificates since they’re not gotten from an institution here. Any opinion please?

For my o’level and secondary school transcript, do I need to have them certified as well?

Kind regards.

If you have a BSc with at least final grade of 2.2 you can book Category A even if you're going for a second Bachelors. The people who were turned back at the embassy had Hnd and were going for BSc. Category A dates come within 24 to 72 hrs of booking while Category B peeps have been waiting for 5 weeks now, no date
