Racoon: We are final not because we are infallible; rather we are infallible because we are final.Justices of this Court are human-beings, capable of erring. It will certainly be short sighted arrogance not to accept this obvious truth.
It is also true that this Court can do inestimable good through its wise decisions.Similarly, the Court can do incalculable harm through its mistakes.
When therefore it appears to learned counsel that any decision of this Court has been given per incuriam, such counsel should have the boldness and courage to ask that such a decision be over-ruled. This Court has the power to over-rule itself (and has done so in the past) for it gladly accepts that it is far better to admit an error than to persevere in error.
Chukwudifu Oputa JSC in Adegoke Motors Vs.Adesanya. (Considered the powers of the Supreme Court as the final Court in the land to review its earlier decisions). That was the era of cerebral Justices not this have baked conscienceless, corrupt, malliable ones we now have in our courts including the supreme Court |

Mynd44: Actually the Supreme Court can change a judgment based on new evidence and/or clerical error.
In the case of Hope and Ihedioha, the argument of total accredited voted vs total votes casted can be viewed as a clerical error that was not considered by the court as these numbers are an aberration to the constitution which the Supreme Court draws its powers from what about the legal time for election petition which has elapsed |

WiLdFLame: Lagos state has been the first state on the frontline of community policing.
No one is saying we don’t need AMOTEKUN but let it be a comprehensive all encompassing Institution, carry all stakeholders along, pass it through the House, let them debate it, loopholes of breach of etiquette blocked etc then pass it to law. Else soon Amotekun will be a shadow of itself, involving itself in extortion of Yahoo boys, Land dispute, Wife/husband snatching shit, abuse of power by the governors during and after election(Akeredolu was even saying he doesn’t care if he lose his second term bid...only fools will believe him. More attestation that the governors who are at the frontline of AMOTEKUN have ulterior motives behind.
Let AMOTEKUN be like the justice giver in the Land of Odua hence it must be sacred and without blemish, officers of Amotekun also must be men of integrity not like the Sars etc..
Take a look at the Lagos state RRS. I think they are the most professional of all police force in southwest.
I am on the fence until all stakeholders are involved sha see them tinubu boys doing the hatchet job |

kponkedenge: Are Yoruba's suddenly angry about this type of statement from Miyetti Allah? I mean they caused all this by joining forces with the Fulani's to the detriment of the whole South in 2015. Also for those of you think these people are not speaking the mind of the Buhari's administration, then you are probably sleeping.
One more thing: Tinubu has refused to comment on the issue because he is in a tight spot... If he supports it, he fears the backlash from the North and he can as well kiss his presidential bid goodbye......while if he doesn't support it, he risks the wrath of the entire South West, so he just wants to stay on the fence and let it play out itself.
To know a good leader is in tough times like this.... Tinubu has shown he isn't..... He is just all in it for himself. As always tinubu has always been about himself, even during abiola crisis he was still lobbying abacha for position |

You're derailing someone's thread with silly talk about Zamfara and Rivers which even before their matter got to Supreme Court everyone already knew APC had lost them. APC lost at state high court, lost at federal high court, lost at Appeal court and it was not a surprise to anyone (except ZOMBIES) that they lost at Supreme Court. In those two states, INEC maintained their stance throughout that they was never a primary election and for real, all parties knew they weren't primaries.

9jaRealist: Hope you were holding a mirror when you wrote that... You would do well to INFORM yourself that only a decision was issued but the written judgment itself will follow later. SMH
Meanwhile, the Court has created the following UGLY precedents: (1) ended up validating more votes than the number of registered/accredited voters; (2) decided that all of the votes in 388 polling units were cast for only 1 candidate/party; (3) ignored its own precedents that proof must be made for each individual polling unit; and (4) replaced the findings of fact by the fact trier (the tribunal) without conducting a fact hearing.
For the avoidance of any doubt, I think of both of the PDP and the APC as merely two sides of the SAME criminal enterprise... I also acknowledge the Supreme Court’s decision is final, but nonetheless let’s not deceive ourselves: the decision was GARBAGE! > good analysis |
