Dude we are not fighting. Look, you can scream all you like. You can distort the facts to make Trump look like the winner, but at the end of the day, the American people will decide. I am neither in support of Democrats nor the Republicans, but based on facts, trump's popularity starts and ends with his 40%. His national appeal is at an all time low. Election is won by appealing to both sides, and he is nowhere close to that national appeal. He was lucky the last time because he ran against a women, not because he was any better. If Hilary Clinton was a man bestowed with the same qualifications and acumen, I bet you that Trump couldn't have had any chance. Finally, Joe Biden is not Hilary Clinton. Joe Biden appeals to the moderate conservatives who despises trump. Now that is a national appeal.

Which of trump's campaign promises have been fulfilled?

1. Mexico will pay for the wall. Are they?
2. He will dismantle Obamacare and replace it with something better. Has he?
3. America's economic progress continued from the changes Obama made on their economic platform.
4. Improve infrastructural spending. He hasn't.

Amongst others.I can confidently state that he hasn't fulfilled most.

I don't agree with your views on Nigerian politics, but these was apt and well said. Trump can't position himself as an outsider anymore, heck his had four years to prove himself, but he was unable to accomplish most, if not any of his campaign promises. Rather he expended his energy stoking fear and division amongst Americans. Wearily, elections are indeterminate, so I won't rule his victory off just yet. But trends suggest that he is currently losing in key battleground states which portends a lot of trouble for him.

Everyday, is a daily brute for survival in Nigeria. Nigeria, the entity itself, should be included amongst the narrative of a thousand ways to die young. I dare not raise alarm at our relatively low life expectancy of 45 years. Yes 45 years! Factors like this increases our exposures to death. Any age beyond 45 years should be celebrated immensely.

The earlier we all realise that the fight shouldn't be between ethnic groups, but between social classes ie the high class and the low class, the better. None is in governance for your interest. This is the fundamental truth. Don't fight against your social class for crubs from the high class, at the detriment of your common good. APC and PDP are constructs; only existing because 'we' allowed them to. They can be dismantled when we collectively decide to resist that status quo. Buhari, Tinubu, Ngige, Kalu and the likes, are not messiahs, and shouldnt have as much a lavished approbation as they do. Whether you believe, or are disillusioned by your ethnic chauvinism, at the end, our children, your children, will pay the ultimate price of your narrow-mindedness. Cheers

My 6 months visa has been granted. Thanks house for your inputs, especially @Giselle237. Your response to my query made a huge difference, same with learning from people's experiences on this platform. I eventually applied, with my mum partly sponsoring; as you had advised, I made sure it wasn't for the whole trip as I had initially planned, but only for the airfare. I also waited a month to improve my closing balance and then applied. I was skeptical at first, because a lot of people thought that working adults, with full or part sponsorships, may have a harder time being granted visa. My timeline is as follows;

Submission of application: 4th of November 2019
Biometrics: 7th of November
Decision made on my application: 27th of November
Emailed to pickup: 3rd of December
Picked up today.

500k before your trip in your account is small. Visa officer needs to also see that you have enough to fall back on when you return home even if your parents are providing for all your needs.

With your salary increment you stand a better chance to get the visa than to apply and state your mum or your friend as sponsor.You are a working adult and should be able to fund your trip.
My advice postpone your plans of travel now since you dont have the funds, you will end up rushing to apply and then when a refusal comes you would wish you never went there.

Save up in the next 5 to 6 months and you could apply and state how you always wanted a vacation because of your hectic job and now that your salary has been increased you would be able to afford it. Maybe by that time you would have over 1million in your account.
You can even reduce your monthly expenses as you have said to a bare minimum and then write in your cover letter that you dont spend much on yourself as your mom is the main breadwinner of the family for which she takes care of your needs

you are also single. you can then state that your mother had also promised you a trip for excellent performance in your PG and so even if you were to run out of funds, you have her money as back up.

Also in addition to your cover letter you attach a written confirmation from her that financially she is 100% open to support your trip if you want, her bank statement and formal confirmation that she would be in Nigeria during the period of your travel and so you cant abandon your mother or your father to go and live in the UK

Also state how you cant abandon such a now better paying job to go and live illegally in the uk to be begging for menial jobs

Have you and this your girlfriend met before? If you intend to visit her, if I were you I would not mention the relationship. If I were the one applying for now I would state that she is my closest/best friend and bring up receipts of our pictures together, chats, video calls and voice calls to satisfy the proof of friendship

The way I seee your mum helping you if u still want to add your mum u can state that she wud be contributing to your flight ticket or ur hotel bill not the two and certainly not funding the whole trip. And then towards the time of your application have her transfer the money to ur account not cash deposit. The amount shud be the same amount u write in ur application form as cost for the trip for that particular item

Thanks for your comprehensive response and I appreciate the time taken to attend to every point I have raised. At this point, I'd put my plans on hold and wait until the end of October where I must have built up my account balance, using this month and next to save up to 500k. I'd shorten the trip to a week, and as you have rightly advised, exclude any details of my relationship from the application, use my mum's account to fund part of the trip (specifically have her transfer the money for the flight into my account accompanied with a letter of confirmation from her), and emphasise on a better paying job in my cover letter. Finally, I and my girlfriend have met before; she was back last year Nov and most recently, March of this year.

I don't know if this has come up on the thread before, but please permit me to explain my situation and seek advice.

1. A little background: I am genuinely in a two year long distance relationship with a friend. She is 25, working in the UK, earning twenty seven thousand pounds per annum while I am 28 also working; the plan is to eventually get married. I am currently working in an Oil and Gas company, and my salary was 130k gross per month (113k net after taxes) up until two months ago, specifically August, where it was increased to 365k gross monthly (300k net after taxes and co. ). My bank statement reflects this salary increase, together with a letter of salary increment.

2. Now here's where I need your suggestions and advice; I haven't been consciously saving with my previous salary, I have no dependent and I still stay with my parents. However, my closing balance may show my most recent salary which was paid on the 27th of September, if i was to apply. Against this backdrop, a friend advised against using her as a sponsor (because according to him, it will increase he likelihood that i may abscond) and thus I have chosen to use my mum as the sponsor of my Trip. Her account balance reads a little over 3M. When i was requested to state a reason, I said it is because she will be fulfilling her promise of sponsoring a two weeks vacation as a result of my excellent performance in my postgraduate programme ( I finished with a distinction, in 2015).

3. My annual leave is approved for the 23rd of Nov to 21st of Dec (I have gotten a letter from my employer to that effect) and I hope to spend two weeks in the UK, with an opportunity to spend the most of it with her. She has been back to Nigeria in the past to see me, most recently March and I want to return the favour this time around. She doesn't mind being a sponsor but a friend advised against it. I intend to apply by the end of this week. Please what do you advice, Is the reason for my mum sponsoring me enough? should I use her instead?. Not sure I'd be able to save up for it before the year runs out.

So I came across this mobile platform and decided to share to students that may be interested. This is basically an andrioid mobile app that will enable students in different colleges/universities to buy/ sell and exchange items amongst themselves. Simply put OLX, JiJi app but exclusively for students. Imagine as a student, having to buy a new Physics textbook for an exorbitant cost when the same text book is just clustering the room of another student. The availability of a platform like this provides a solution for both students. For one, its saving his money on an item he needs by buying a cheaper alternative and for the other, its earning money on an item he/she would have thrown away anyway.

At the very least, this platform would reduce the good items been thrown away by students at the end of every semester and most importantly when they eventually graduate. Perhaps the book or pressing iron that is being thrown away may just be what a freshman in the same college is looking to buy for his/her studies or domestic need.

It serves as an avenue for a student to earn some cash on his/her unneeded item while also enabling them learn first-hand how to run a small business. You can search for the app on google playstore using the name “fourwalls’. Make sure you are still a valid student as I couldn’t get on the platform due to some verification process.

Carried out a $5.50 online transaction with sterling bank visa card today and was debited 1,571.40. From my calculation, it turns out to be 285.7 per $1.

Diamond bank charged my account a sum of 274 to a dollar for a transaction that was carried out earlier today. To get the full gist, I have been making a payment of $200 (unfortunately 300 isn't the limit but 200 unless this only applies to me as I cant authorise a transaction pass the 200 mark. Even tried 250, no way) each day for the past 4 days now just to be able to pay for some services which runs above a thousand dollars. For previous transactions (from the 21st to the 24th) it has always been within 254/255 to a dollar. But was blown away when I saw my bank notification for a rate close to 274. At the moment, am considering using another bank to complete the rest payment. Started out with Gtbank(from 16th to 19th) but they got on the high side with 270, switched to diamond which I began with a 248 rate, now 274. I wonder why CBN let banks get away with practises like this. Any suggestion on banks with favourable rates will be appreciated. Cheers

#latepost ,my samsung ue40d5700 finally delivered. I only thought it proper to acknowledge the trustworthiness of acunon. After Reading the reviews on here i was encouraged to find out more as regards an LED tv i was interested in purchasing. royalsweetness: I don't think your money is missing just yet. You just have to calm down and wait till monday to find out from the bank too. I heard international bank transfer is one of the slowest methods of payments, major reason I didn't use it. I paid my fees in two instalments too, and after I was issued my cas, I found out they had stated just my initial deposit on the cas. I wrote the school to notify them of the error, and they said they hadn't received any other money in my name. It took two more days before the complete payment reflected in their account.

About the deadline for issuance of cas, if the issue lingers till then, you could collect a Cas stating just your initial deposit, then collect a receipt for the rest of the payment, except if the full payment of tuition is a condition for issuance of your cas too.

Oh k thanks alot..am calm now..lol..naaa full payment wasnt a condition.

Hello guys..got a lil problem..Made a full tution payment of 10890( made an initial payment of 6445 on 22/11/13 then paid the balance of 4445 on 13/12/13 ) to the uni of lincoln... This payment was transferred from my dads account with UBA to the school. Then applied for my CAS on the 18th of dec..was made to understand that it takes 3 to 5 working days for one to be issued so as at the 28th of dec when I had nt seen any CAS, I wrote back to the school requesting the reason for the delay. Due to the holidays, I jst received a reply from the admissions officer that I had correspondence with, informing me that its only a payment of 6445 that is reflecting in my account. got furious and replied back outlining the payment shedule and attaching proof of payments (b4 then, I have always informed the same admissions officer of all payments I had made..attaching proofs also) I got from UBA for them to rectify the issue. called him also to convey my displeasure at the recent development hence he promised to get back to me by monday..dis is really nt a gud way to start the new year...how 4445 pounds go jst miss (are they learners)them tink say na beans..anyways guys shud I be worried..I hope to criously disturb dis guys by next week till the issue is rectified. plus no time too because according to them issuance of CAS stops jan 10th.
