Hi Sweetjj, please what did you do differently. My spouse BVL has dropped since 12 August. What can we do please

I kept sending them emails and webforms. I also did MP inquiry. I also got a consultant here in Canada to email them. I don't know which one worked.

My husband applied for his work permit extension. Before his permit extension was approved, i applied for an open work permit in Canada and mine was approved just 3 months before my husband's current permit expires. So, I was given that 3 months permit. After mine was approved, his own extension came through for another 2 years. Can I return my passport back, so that they can also extend my permit, or what do I do?

I think the best thing to do is to apply for extension too. Submit his extension approval. Or if you can go to the border with all the necessary documents, it will be instantly extended.

Did you do walk-in submission? I heard they started it on Monday in Lagos and Abuja offices. My kids passport took 9days before it was returned. It was submitted in Lagos office.

Also, i finished my studies this month already. Though my stud permit is expiring December, my enrolment letter says my study will be complete by August, 2022. Does is still make sense to apply for SOWP for my husband?

Hi LadyBlaq, you can use your profile or use the one you opened for him to apply for SOWP. I don't think it matters anyways.

If you already finished your studies, I'd suggest you hold on from applying for his SOWP, apply for your own PGWP, be sure you find job in NOC O, A or B and then apply for his SOWP else he will risk refusal on the basis that you are no longer a full-time student. At this point you need a lot of patience.

How long will it take before final approval and passport request?

Soon! Ranging from few days to a few weeks and at most a few months. Keep positive, it will come sooner, they are responding fast these days. I wish you had done the medical upfront, by now it will be PPR straight up. In any case, hope for the best soon!

From the mp inquiry I did, which came in after my husband's ppr was released. His visa was approved since 27th of July with my kids visa. The VO just wickedly refused to send the PPR. But it's all good though. I have been doing video calls with them but it just cannot be the same as physically being together.

Do you know when likely the passport will be out? You can risk it sha. We did something similar during my husband's application. His passport got lost in January and was still in process when we reapplied in April. We applied with the old passport number and immediately the new passport came out in May, we uploaded the data page and send webform to replace the old passport with the new passport.
You can try it if, you are sure the passport will come out very fast. Also does the number on the slip look like the real passport number? If not you have to wait, maybe apply for the spouse alone and when you get the passport you can add the baby.

Alhamdulilah! PPR finally dropped for my wife’s SOWP and 2 kids(VV and study permit).We applied October 2nd, 2021 Medical passed November 15th and then the long wait. Eligibility started August 5th,BVL dropped August 9th and PPR came in August 17th.
Their trip is scheduled to depart this September ending and Our medical expires October 15. I will like to know the implication of leaving 2 weeks to the expiration of medicals on their visa. Is this going to cause issues at the port of entry?
If they take another medical exam before the expiration of the current medicals, will it over ride the current one? I fear IRCC might not update the new medical on time before their departure time. What do you advise?

Congratulations! Please I want to know, between when they dropped your BVL and your PPR were you sending mails and webforms? I am kinda getting contradictory advice on this. Some say don't send mails, just wait others says keep sending mails and reminders. It's been more than 3weeks now since my husband's BVL dropped. Please kindly respond

I am back here again. Until now they have not released my husband's PPR. It's so frustrating. We had sent countless emails and webforms attaching the kids visa, contacted Mp no reply. I consulted an RCIC consultant and she said we are likely being punished for the emails which they see as a disturbance. She said we should stop sending them mails and simply wait. She, however wrote them an email on our behalf on Friday last week, still no response. Its been 3weeks and yet no news whatsoever. I really don't know what to do at this point. I am so down and school is starting in September

please if for example a husband and wife apply for study permit and both of them were granted the study visa, but what their plan is, is for one person to school, they both applied incase one person is granted and the other one is not. is it possible to change one to SOWP.

so sorry i know this is not the study visa thread i tried to ask there but the thread is closed, cant send messages its locked.
please anyone who has knowledge about this should please reply.

I would suggest you both should arrive Canada first then use an immigration lawyer to argue out why you want to drop and rather apply for SOWP inland, you can as well do the application yourself if you are sure you can logically argue your case.

From personal experience, Abuja returned stamped passport within 1 week, while Lagos took 3 weeks.

PPR dropped for spouse, 13th July
Medical request for son's vv.

Spouse delayed sending passport hoping that son's PPR will drop immediately after the medical exam. Risky decision!

Finally, decided to overcome the village people and send the passport. We guess that's what triggered them to look at my son's own cos eligibility started the same day as the counterfoil on the sowp dropped.

And finally PPR for son dropped today. Just a day after.

Date submitted: 23rd January 2022.
Verdict: IRCC no try at all! But we are glad it has ended in praise.

Congratulations. I totally agree with your verdict o. Even when my children's passport has been stamped and counterfoil dropped yesterday still those guys no wan release my husband's PPR, his BVL has dropped since two weeks ago. It's so frustrating, I don't know what next to do.

My husband submitted my application over a year now. We got a response from IRCC to provide our proof of wedding, relationship and family pictures pictures, proof of communication, proof of financial support.

A friend of my husband's spouse's application was just denied after giving them the above documents. This really got me worried.

We lost some of our wedding pictures. How can we replace this?

I'd like to know the documents to be provided in order for my application to be approved.

I'll appreciate your inputs.

Proof of wedding includes Marriage certificate, wedding pictures, ensure to include some pictures with parents. Even if you lost some wedding photos, include as much as you can lay your hands on. In my opinion, it is not necessary to start replacing wedding photos, remember you don't want to do anything that will raise suspicions on your application.

Proof of relationship: pictures (not necessarily wedding photos), bank transactions to and from your two accounts,

Proof of communication: social media chats and calls. Screenshot of your chats as spouse.

Proof of financial support: bank details showing you have enough funds in the account, also landed documents stating its value, a registered business, employment letter or any contract letter showing where you receive money or where you hope to continue receiving money.

And by the way, keep positive, no two applications are the same. Even if your friend was refused/delayed even when s/he has provided all the necessary documents does not translate to refusal in your case. Remember they may even be processed by different VO's with different perspectives. Stay positive!

I BELIEVE AND STAND TO BE CORRECTED THIUGH THAT THERE IS A STAMPING OFFICE IN ABUJA. BECAUSE IF IT IS KENYA LAGOS VAC PASSPORTS DONT NEED TO GET TO ABUJA FIRST BEFORE GOING TO NAIROBI BECAUSE WE HAVE FLIGHTS TO NAIROBI FROM LAGOS.

I really doubt they stamp in Nigeria both in Abuja and in Lagos office, only in Nairobi. What I think is that the head office is in Abuja and therefore all passports pass through that office maybe for final verification before they send to Nairobi.

Hello my people,
I need your advice here. I submitted my wife's SOWP on the 16th July, after she completed her upfront medical same day at Qlife in Lagos. We uploaded the e-medical information sheet along with other supporting documents. I logged into her portal yesterday, and noticed that review of eligibility has started, and under review of medical results, it read that they were reviewing the results of her medical exam. This morning, we received a medical request form (IMM1017E).
I immediately called Qlife, and they confirmed that her medical result was transmitted to IRCC on the 21st June. On the form they sent, I notice that the IME number differs from the one on the information sheet that was given to my wife. I have just emailed Qlife to reconcile the differences, and transmit the updated medical result to IRCC.
Has anyone here experienced this, and what would you advise we do next. Should we resubmit the e-medical information sheet to IRCC, assuming it's an oversight on their own part, or wait for Qlife to confirm they have resent the medical result to IRCC before contacting IRCC?
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you have send them an email attaching your medical information sheet. You don't have to do anything at this time. It means they haven't seen it, they will eventually see it, and update your file. Do not worry about it!

You mean my wife letter of acceptance. Am the one doing the fresh application under swop now on the old portal. My wife got her study visa through the new portal. It means your wife's letter of admission/ letter of acceptance, Upload it in your kids own. Then your SOP should have explained that you are coming to join your wife and will get a school as soon as you arrive. If your wife is already in Canada, she can get a letter of acceptance from a nearby school and attach, if not upload hers!
