You goofed by making it look like there is a tribe like efik in akwa ibom",as if i was mentioning tribes or core language families/dialects being spoken here.If i was mentioning tribes here,i will simply mention Ijaw and Igbo.U ARE NOT FROM HERE,SIMPLE. This guy really thinks he's smart sha. Thank God for google. People can always google to check to see for themselves. Now I'm really done with this rubbish. Can you now get the hell outta my damn mentions lil boy? |

NDPVF: [s][/s]Now i know i u an madt.our flinges leading to cross river state, are more or less efik.though doctored efik, and quite insignificant.Let me school u more.Do u know that we av' ljaw and Igbos here?. Oh please don't try to play smart. You goofed by making it look like there is a tribe like efik in akwa ibom. The efiks are all settled in Cross river, calabar and it's environs. What we have in akwa-ibom is the general efik language which we all understand along with our slightly different languages and the shared akwa/cross cultures though there are slight variances in each tribes. The people who speak Igbo are the ones close to Umuahia. there are some Igbo settlers there though because of trade relations owning to proximity of borders same as in everywhere in the world. At every border you will always find people of the neighboring countries or states there. It's normal. My friend, can you kindly stop quoting me? I have feeling you are not more than 21 years old. Stop quoting me. |

NDPVF: she is not from here.An avarage Akwa Ibomite, whether Ekid,Oron,Obolo,Efik,Annang, understands Ibibio, cos its more or less our central language.other dialects aforementioned, are simply doctored form of ibibio. There are NO efiks in Akwa-Ibom. Now I'm seriously beginning to doubt YOU. |

CHM11: So sorry about that. There are a million things that happened in the past that have completely built a bridge between some major tribes. Just the same way the igbos hate the Northerners and the yorubas for the Biafra war (which they ridiculously call genocide), its the same way some major tribes in the SS hate the igbos.
Consider the following with a clear conscience.
The igbos were the most successful tribe in the country during the pre-war era even though the administration of the country was in the hands of the North. Thanks to minister of finance, Okotiebo. The country was still at peace as all tribes could live in other regions peacefully but the igbos were the most decentralised as they could do business in the North, SS, and SW peacefully and successfully. This wasn't good enough and with military power, Aguiyi Ironsi (from anambra) commanded his subordinate (Kaduna Nzeogwu) to carry out the first coup,...Northern leaders were killed by these soldiers in a very ridiculous way. Worse there is an interview where Major Nzeogwu was bragging about how they killed the Northern soldiers in disgustingly ridiculous ways.
This was what led to a reprisal attach by the Northerners and many igbos were killed in the North in return. Nobody went to the east to kill anybody, the east was peaceful.
Oil was just discovered in the Niger Delta region (which the igbos considered as their subordinates). Then the wanted to force the Niger Delta region into Biafra. The biafran Soldiers started from Calabar, forcing all minorities into their army. They went to akwaibom, ogoni, portharcourt, Bayelsa, ughelli, Warri, Sapele, Auchi, Benin, Okada and even Ore. As they went the killed those who refused to join them.
Then when they got to Ore, the yorubas defended their land by fighting back. The Yorubas had been silent all along and the igbos went as far as their homeland trying to invade their land.
Then came the return invasion by the federal troops who helped all SS states and when the igbos were all caged up in their hometown in SE, the federal troops had mercy and didn't attack dem till they surrendered.
Then Ojukwu Ran away to abidjan and the wise Phillip Effiong who was cajoled into the igbo dream went straight to col. Obasanjo and Obasanjo lead Effiong to go and apologise to gowon who gladly accepted his apology.
Today the igbos play the victim like they wernt the ones who started the attack from the first coup.
The invasion of minority tribe lands in Cross river, Akwaibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo and even parts of Ondo by the Biafran Army, the igbos are quick to forget all these. They just want to play the victim all the time. I hope this post clearly explains why SS people are not in support of biafra. I'm sure that NDVF character is 21 year old. You have said it all dear. I feel sad all over again remembering my uncle. Excuse me guys, I need a break. Cheers! |

If you must get it, Do it properly and orderly to avoid a repeat of such unfortunate and avoidable events again. Is that too much to ask? |

CHM11: Seconded. They think we can't remember how the biafran soldiers killed many innocent Niger Deltans from Ogoni land through Delta, through benin and even down to Ore in Ondo state. When the got a reply from the Nigerian Army, they started wailing and playing the victim. They even tried going to Yoruba land but was resisted at Ore. Today, they are trying to form relationship with south south people. We don't forget easily!!!!!.....
Just go for your biafra if you have the mind.....marriage Is not by force. My uncle was forced to join the biafran army at 12 years. He has been on/off mental institutions for years now as a result of the truama. Something my mum's family are yet to forgive the Igbos for. |

Most SS people under 35 don't speak even their languages fluently. We are used to English and pidgin. Thanks to the early and very close interaction we had with colonists, we sadly lost the language culture little by little. Do you know that the bowler culture hat is actually influenced by the oyibos?
Don't get me wrong, we have rich, deep cultures. The Binis, the Ishekiris, the Ikas, the Ijaws, the Efiks have very deep cultures, no wonder the monarchs are some of the most powerful in Nigeria! But we embraced quiet a few western styles. |

CHM11: I'm in support of their Biafra dream, they should secede but they should do that peacefully and with only those who share their views. Many of us in the SS will most likely love to be on our own, not with the igbos. My problem is not the biafra itself. It's the way they are forcing it down our throat. Definitely. Any SS person that wants to join them should be free to go. But threatening violence and forcing it down SS throats? Mba! |

I don't know if you guys know that there is something called "core North" this explains States that have core Northern values which includes majority Islamic population, etc. Google it for more explanation. It's the same with SS though SS is more of a legalized and constitutionalized name for the geographical region. op good job! Now you know what you will do for me? get a screen shot of at least 20 non-Igbo SS indegenes in support of biafra. Make sure their names and surnames are clearly visible and make sure they are up to 25 years old so we are sure they have a full understanding of socio-political issues.
Simply post another update on fb and invite non-Igbo speaking SS indegenes to tell us what they think about biafra and if they are interested in joining. Thank you.
If you can't get up to 20 we will manage 15. And pls I didn't say you should go looking around the internet for screen shots. Gather them from your own contacts. From the people you know on fb. I'm sure you have up to 30 SS indigenes on fb right? |

may01: Sorry to cut in, but I think it's the other way round. Ibibio is quite easy compared to Efik. I'm an Ibibio girl Eyen eka mi. I didn't say Ibibio is not easy to understand. I just meant that Efik is more widely spoken. Hardly do you hear Ibibio in cross river but you hear Efik in akwa ibom. That's what I mean. Remember we were all under cross river and calabar was our base. |
