The Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole has maintained that Imohimi Oluwole Edgal still remains a Commissioner of Police and Acting Commissioner of Police of the Lagos Police Command. Famous-Cole told pressmen, “It is true that the Police Service Commission has the power to appoint and promote Police officers, but all these things have procedures and channels. We have channels we use in communicating and receiving information or directives. When CP Imohimi Oluwole Edgal was promoted and appointed as Commissioner of Police and Acting Commissioner of Police Lagos Command, we received an official directive through the appropriate channel, if there will be any changes, it has to come through the appropriate channel as well.” “And Until we receive this information through the appropriate channel, it remains a rumour and should be discarded.” Famous-Cole added. Famous-Cole who also referenced the publication by Punch Newspaper via their online platform on Thursday October 12, 2017 stating that the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, PSC, Dr. Mike Okiro has disowned the demotion letter said, “If the Chairman of the PSC has also denied the knowledge of the said letter which went viral on the internet, then all these rumours by mischief makers holds no water; it is only effort to tarnish the image of the Nigeria Police Force and by extension the PSC” He however urged members of the public remain vigilant and not hesitate to inform the police of any suspicious activities as making Lagos state the safest city to reside and do business in Africa through CP Edgal’s community policing plan remains topmost of the CP’s priority. “The CP’s topmost priority is making lagos the safest place in the world through community policing, and he will not be distracted by mere rumour mongers and mischief makers.” Famous-Cole concluded. Continue reading here>>>https://www.newsflashngr.com/apc-hails-fg-bonnybomu-road-flag-off-calls-buhari-true-son-niger-delta-region/ Wike’s absence justifies carryover of his hatred and plot in alliance with Jonathan to under-develop Niger Delta Region The formal flag-off of the construction of the Bonny/Bomu Road/Bridges in Rivers State on 12th October, 2017 by the APC led Federal Government has been described not only as monumental, historical, unprecedented but exhibition by President Muhammadu Buhari that he is a true son of Niger Delta region. By this event, he has demonstrated that he is not like Dr Goodluck Jonathan and Gov. Nyesom Wike who claim to be sons of the region but did/doing everything humanly possible to frustrate the development of the region. This is a 40-kilometre road from Bodo to Bonny Island. In between it are three bridges – a 1000 metre bridge across the Opobo creek, a 640 metre bridge against the Nanabie Creek and a 550 metre bridge against the Afa Creek. This will ultimately connect all of the communities and hopefully in a time not too far away, we can drive to Bonny Island from Bodo This project once fully executed will open the gateway for economic growth and diversification of the economy of Bonny and its environs and drastic reduction in boat mishaps which have taken the lives of countless people, old and young, and has barred many from coming down to engage in meaningful businesses for the benefit of those in the region and Nigeria at large for the fear of losing their lives and properties to pirates or boat mishaps. Through this project Industries have also gotten a gateway and coupled with the uninterrupted power supply enjoyed by residents and indigenes of the community, the improvement in the economy of Rivers State will know no bounds. These assertions were contained in a statement signed and issued to NEWSFLASHNGR.com by the State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya on Friday in Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital. The party reiterated unequivocally her unreserved appreciation for this show of concern, love and strict adherence to her (APC) campaign promises, and most of all commitment to the good people of the South-South region. Indeed President Buhari have shown true leadership cum statesmanship, not just expressed, but conspicuously put into action and giving the people firsthand experience of what democracy is and should be. Our thanks also go to the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (NLNG) for buying into this project and ensuring its actualisation. We commend and congratulate the Federal Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Barrister Babatunde Fashola who have proved by his enthusiasm in this project that he is a true friend of Niger Delta region. Today, we can celebrate a rare gem and a true leader whose love for the region is infectious and must be commended. We are convinced of the multiplier effect of this N120 billion road project will impact in the Niger Delta region in terms of jobs that will be created with the establishment of more businesses that will employ youths in Bonny and Gokana Local Government Areas of the State. It will be recalled that this project has been on the drawing board for over forty (40) years even before the Obasanjo's administration (1999-2007) and have suffered several abandonments in the hands of the past administrations sadly including the six wasted years of Dr. Goodluck Jonathans as President of Nigeria. To continue to ensure that this project does not see the light of the day, Governor Nyesom Wike has few days ago issued a sinister statement titled, "Rivers State Government warns Headmasters/Principals of Primary/Secondary Schools in Bonny LGA, Rivers State not to allow the APC-led Federal Government And NLNG Use Your School Fields For The Flag Off Of Bonny-Bobo Road” through his new Commissioner for Education, Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, an Ibani son, where he threatened fire and brimstone that any principal or headmaster that allowed his or her school to be used for the ceremony will be summarily dismissed. Initially, the flag-off of this project which is the most exciting news to any well-meaning Rivers State person in many years was slated to hold at Government Girls Secondary School, Finima, Bonny. This led to the decision of construction giants, Julius Berger Nigeria, to look for alternative venue at Shell Gate for the event. All these evil attempts and acts by Wike is just a carryover of the several attempts under the Jonathan’s administration to ensure that this project did not see the light of the day and despite all his efforts to frustrate the event, the flag-off of the Bonny-Bodo road project turned out to be a monumental success and to demonstrate his frustration, he has threatened to dethrone the Amanyanabo of Ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, Perekule XIand all the Royal fathers and sack all the political appointees of his administration that attended the historical event, though we know Wike as a joker and disaster in governance, he should know his limits and how far he can be a clog in the wheel of progress of Rivers State. The party warned him not to touch any Rivers State son or daughter that attended or assisted to make this project a reality talkless of dethroning any Royal Father. Governor Nyesom Wike’s absence during this epochal event simply tells the world of his hatred for any form of genuine development for Rivers State and the Niger Delta region and affirms the stand of Dr Dakuku Peterside the DG of NIMASA that he is the worst Governor among all the Governors in Nigeria. We sincerely implore the youths from the areas that this project will cover to support and encourage the contractors that will be handling this project and checkmate any nefarious manoeuvre by Wike and his cohorts who have shown their disdain and plotted that this project will never see the light of the day to justify his wickedness and hatred for the development of the Niger Delta region. We can now understand why Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the erstwhile Governor of Rivers State and the incumbent Minister of Transportation counselled Rivers State and her people that through APC we will actualise our dream to rediscover the dreams of the founding fathers of this State. We now understand and we rejoice with him for attracting development to Rivers from the Federal Government and showing leadership in the South-South. We congratulate Dr. Dakuku Peterside and all those that accompanied Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo who represented Mr. President during the event. Rivers State and Niger Delta people should by now know who are their true friends and sons the party enthused.

It is evident that the present administration in Osun led by Governor Rauf Aregbesola has since inception committed largest chunks of the state's resources to revamp education sector as this is manifested in the achievements recorded so far. Continue reading here>>>https://www.newsflashngr.com/osun-sustains-tempo-masses-oriented-education-initiative/ Reports have shown that the three senatorial districts of the state namely: Osun Central Senatorial District, Osun West Senatorial District and Osun East Senatorial District had in the last six and a half years witnessed a tremendous change and geometric progression not only in the education sector but in all aspects of human endeavours. The giant strides however did not stop at Senatorial District but rather moved across the nine Federal Constituencies in the state. The Aregbesola's administration resolve to take bull by the horn in the education sector coupled with his genuine policy that gave masses particularly the vulnerable the ample opportunities to access quality public education without hindrance had increased the soaring popularity of the state and as well made Osun a state of reckoning among her peers. The All Progressives Congress led government in the state had in no doubt showcased to the entire world that free education is not a lip service but a practical exercise that must reflect and manifest in the lives of the masses particularly those whose income are at lowest ebb. The policy of "every child must go to school" initiated by the Aregbesola led administration had not only rejuvenated the education sector but rekindled the interest and willingness to public education as education facilities being put in place outsmart those at the private schools. The initiative widen the scope of public school enrollment at a very impressive percentage and as well giving the parent an ultimate access to functional and quality public education as this could be genuinely justified on the pupils and students' performances both in internal and external examinations since 2010. Moreover, it has been consistently reported that Osun's education model had not only taken the centre point of the national education policy but contributed significantly to modern education system and structure in the world. The impacts and imparts of Osun's education policy which had been nationally and internationally adopted and replicated however made Osun to be the first state in Nigeria to record such feat in the history of this country. Let take for instance, the below efforts genuinely made by the present administration in Osun West Senatorial District as regards educational infrastructure and renaissance. Osun West Senatorial District has enjoyed a minimum of N11 billion (N10, 810,000,000.00) worth of investment in the education sector since 2010 till now. It is on record that six Model Elementary schools were built and commissioned with 150 classrooms across the Osun West Senatorial District while two of these schools were built in Iwo Local Government, one in Ayedaade Local Government, one in Ayedire Local Government and two in Ede South Local Government. In the same vein, nothing less than seven Model Middle schools were built and commissioned with 175 classrooms across Osun West Senatorial District where one of these state-of-the-art schools was built in Irewole Local Government; one in Ejigbo Local Government, two in Iwo Local Government, two in Ayedaade Local Government and one in Irewole Local Government. Also, four Model High Schools were built and commissioned across the Osun West Senatorial District where one of these model schoold was built in Ejigbo Local Government, one in Ede South Local Government, one in Iwo Local Government and one in Irewole. Likewise, more than 600 classrooms across 100 models schools renovated in conjunction with UBEB, 2,094 sets furniture supplied to the schools across the ten LGAs made of Osun West Senatorial District. Also, about 20 scholar buses and 50 personnel deployed to the Senatorial District and more than 50,000 students have benefited from the Opon-Imo project in 3 years. It is also on records that over 2,000 OYES cadets from Osun West Senatorial District were deployed to different schools as teachers just as about 1, 076 regular teachers were recruited from same zone while 900 teachers were trained in 26 different training programmes and workshops. In addition, more than 6,000 teaching and non-teaching staff were promoted from Osun West Senatorial District while more than 84,000 pupils gets fed daily under school feeding programmes through which 1,000 cooks were employed all from the Senatorial District. The statistics had shown that about 68 million delicious meals have been served since 2012 across 500 schools in the Osun West Senatorial District, while 300,000 school uniforms were distributed free to students across the 10 LGAs of the Senatorial District. The government’s achievement in the state of Osun is not only limited to the West Senatorial District, however, for lack of time and space, we would write on the achievement of the current administration in the other Senatorial district in the part two of this treatise. Waheed Adekunle wrote in from Osogbo.

Source>>>>https://www.newsflashngr.com/just-uk-base-apc-members-holds-session-restructuring-nigeria-wont-believe-areas-want-restructured-must-see/ The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom NEWSFLASHNGR.COM can report, has held a successful session on the restructuring of Nigeria as a nation in line with the position of the party in Nigeria. The session which was attended by many Nigerians resident in the United Kingdom deliberated on issues ranging from federalism to policing and resource control amongst other issues. The highly publicized programme was held at the Holiday Inn Express, Stratford, London, UK on Saturday, October 7, 2017. One of the speakers, Dr Adebisi Adewole, a Professor of Procurement and Supply Chain Management and Deputy Director, Centre for African Research on Enterprise and Economic Development at the University of the West of Scotland, United Kingdom said that the restructuring of Nigeria is basically between the elite and the followers. The University Don, who was represented by Mr. Seyi Odetola, Publisher of 6334 Reporter, itemized 26 areas where restructuring of Nigeria should be focused. Another guest speaker, Mr. David Otto strongly believed that restructuring should not mean 'butchering' of Nigeria because we are stronger together. Otto who is the Director TGS and CEO of SISO R.A.P. Counter Terrorism argued that the best time to stand together as a nation is now and that we need to fashion a way of creating harmony and peace in the nation. Other speakers including Councillor Folasade Etti of Hackney Council. The popular Nigerian-British politician viewed that Nigeria should devolve power to the state drawing reference from the old experience of regional system. Cllr Folasade also canvassed for a structured decentralization of Police to enable them to work efficiently. In his contribution, former chairman of Central Association for Nigerians in the United Kingdom (CANUK), Bimbo Afolayan believed that mindset restructuring is what Nigeria needed more than physical restructuring. He opposes choosing leaders based on religion and ethnic backgrounds. A prominent APC UK youth leader Ms. Ifeoluwa Sarumi, expressed concerns about dealing with corruption in Nigeria. She expressed the opinion that restructuring without arresting corruption may be efforts in futility. Mr Ayobami Oyalowo, (known on twitter as the Godfather) who travelled from Nigeria to attend the event posited that the present government is delivering on its promises and making life better for Nigerians. He wished the calibre of people in government at this time were voted into power many years ago. He believed that Nigeria would have developed and most of the challenges faced today would have been resolved. He appealed to Nigerians at home and abroad to support the APC-led government in making Nigeria a better Country. The conference ended with contributions from the audience which included remarks, comments, suggestions and solutions especially bothering on restructuring of minds and individuals rather than splitting the Country into smaller units. Mrs Gloria Adagbon in her vote of thanks to the attendees of the session encouraged fellow citizens of Nigeria to support President Muhammadu Buhari in rebuilding our great country Nigeria. The convener of the conference, APC UK have resolved to forward the full report detailing the contents of deliberations at the session to the Gov. Nasir El-Rufai's led APC technical committee on True Federalism for consideration. Signed: Jacob Ogunseye APC United Kingdom

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has alleged that yesterday (Friday’s) protest by a group of young men and women in Port Harcourt carrying anti-Special Armed Robbery Squad (SARS) placards was sponsored by Governor Wike. The Party in a statement signed and made available NEWSFLASHNGR.COM in Port Harcourt, Rivers State by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Chris Finebone said: “The motley crowd of obviously hired young people was covered by the full compliments of Port Harcourt Government House Press Corp, confirming the suspicion that it was Gov. Nyesom Wike that was the architect and executioner of the project in his sustained bid to politicise security in Rivers State ahead of 2019 general election.” The statement reads: “The protest of Friday did not come to the APC and cursory observers as a surprise because 24 hours earlier, the Rivers State Government through the Information and Communications Commissioner, Barr. Emma Okah, had flown a kite by accusing the APC of planning to organise a protest in solidarity with SARS. Okah’s press release was obviously meant to divert attention from the anti-SARS protest the government had already planned as was witnessed yesterday. Of course, the APC had no plans to hold any rallies at all and the party stated so. “To the APC, the Wike-organised anti-SARS march funded and publicised by the Rivers State Government last Friday, was only a small part of the strategic scheme by Gov. Nyesom Wike generally targeted at demonizing, destabilizing and demoralising security agencies in the State. But most importantly for Gov. Wike is his avowed objective of ensuring that CSP Akin Fakorede (SARS Commander) is removed from Rivers State. “We have stated it over and over again, that having thrown every imaginable bait at Mr. Fakorede but failing to compromise the officer, Gov. Wike is hell-bent on seeing off Akin Fakorede from Rivers State especially as 2019 elections approach. The world knows that the self-acclaimed electoral invincibility of Gov. Wike is woven around the governor’s expertise in bribing electoral umpire and security agents. The evidence abound including the matter of electoral officials who he bribed with over N360m who are presently standing trial, the audio recording that was published by Saharareporters and many other cases. “The APC would like to emphasise that the singular crime of CSP Akin Fakorede against Gov. Wike is that the SARS Commander has rejected every move by the governor to bribe him. With all his entreaties having failed, Gov. Wike is utilising everything else including Rivers taxpayers’ money to levy media war against the officer. The protest march of Friday was the next stage of Gov. Wike’s agenda to embarrass the Police authorities into removing Akin Fakorede from Rivers State for failing to play ball with the governor. “The APC is deeply saddened that Gov. Nyesom Wike who is statutorily the chief security officer of Rivers State is the same person working so hard to undermine security in the State by politicising it. We appeal to the governor to have a change of heart and allow security agencies carry out their job professionally and unhindered. Gov. Wike’s meddlesomeness in security matters is further worsening the insecurity in the State instead of bettering it. “We make bold to appeal to the authorities of Nigeria Police and other security agencies not to get their eyes off the ball in Rivers State, they must refuse to be deceived by Gov. Wike’s antics for the sake of the people and residents of the State. We hope and believe that they know the governor more than the governor thinks.” Source>>>>https://www.newsflashngr.com/anti-sars-protesters-procured-funded-gov-wike-rivers-apc-alleges/ By Nwaorgu Faustinus

World Teachers Day: Civil Society Felicitates With Teachers, Carpets Aregbesola Over Teachers’ Welfare An Osun state based Civil Society Organization(CSO) , the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has joined the millions of people across the country to felicitate with the Nigerian Teachers over their this year day celebration, calling on the governments at all level to adopt special scale salary for teachers in Nigeria. The group flayed Mr. Rauf Aregbesola led State government for being insensitive to the plight of teachers in the State since all this while, condemned the adoption of payment of modulated salaries for certain categories of teachers in the State, stressing that the financial predicament being given by the State government as reason for the modulated salaries were not tenable but outdated excuse. In a felicitation message signed by the CSCEOS’ Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman and copies were made available to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM on Thursday, to celebrate this year October 5, 2017 Teachers Day celebration with the Osun teachers in order to appreciate their role in the building of the society and the nation at large, carpeting Governor Aregbesola for not accorded due respect to the teachers in the State, said, this was part of what lead to the failure of his administration educational programmes in the State. The theme of this year 2017 Teachers Day celebration:”Teaching freedom, Empowering Teachers”, it alleged that Osun State teachers were working under threat and duress due to the bad educational policy of the current State government, promising to always identify with their plight of teachers in the State. According to the group, “Teachers in any clime, particularly, in Osun state, are great contributors to our national development. The welfare of the State teachers under the present administration of Mr. Rauf Aregbesola is nothing to write home about. The State government just subjected the teachers in the State to coercive system of educational policy which teachers could not freely work at their pace. Since Mr. Aregbesola came to the State as governor in November 2010, his administration had killed the morale of teachers across the state. The results of anti-teachers policy of Aregbesola’s administration shown in all the external examinations conducted for the students of the State in recent past”. The group then sympathized with the Osun teachers over their present plights in the hand of present administration in the State, enjoying them to continue to endure for the overall interest of the pupils and students in public schools of the State, explaining that their present predicament would soon be the thing of the past by November 2018. The governor while rolling out his achievements in education which includes building Model Schools, Free School Feeding, Free uniform and distribution of Tablet of knowledge said his administration in the last seven years have raised the bar of governance and build a very solid enduring social –economic foundation for the prosperous future of the state. He explained that the world in the coming decades is going to be tough, competitive and knowledge driven saying any society that relegates education and innovations will suffer unimaginable social and economic depression. According to him “We are committed to functional and qualitative education not because the resources are available, but to secure a better future for the incoming generation that there survival would be determined by the quality of knowledge”. “ It is clear that man power is globally becoming irrelevant, in the next 10 years, there will be a car that will not need a driver, so if any one choses to be a driver, He may not get job, in the next 10 years, Robot will be planting farm seeds in large quantity so if any one choose to be a labourer, he or she may not get job” “In the last 400 years , if someone said it that there would be a plane flying on the air space, they will just be looking at the person been insane but we have drones now that can fly without the help of a pilot, in our generation some are Motor Drivers and they are successful, some are labourer and they are successful but the incoming generation will never succeed without quality knowledge and education.” “ Therefore our administration will not spare any efforts in promoting quality education and mode good character with unity of purpose, collective responsibility, discipline and precision that calisthenics teaches”. He said. Aregbesola stated that Osun is the first state to organised calisthenics competitions in Nigeria to create more awareness and institutionalized the programme as part of the school curricular saying the sport never affected the normal school activities of the students. Speaking earlier, the commissioner for Education, Mr Omotunde Kola said the state first held the Calisthenics programme in 2012 to mark the 21st anniversary of the state with the aid of the Cuban consultants to train 8, 000 students but subsequent events were organized by the local coaches who are teachers of the secondary schools. He said the just concluded competition across the state was on volunteering basis adding that the parents provided the sport kits for their children which reduces the government expenses on the competition. Shehu Garba – Nothing Will Make Buhari Implement 2014 Confab Report, You Won’t Believe What Shehu Tag Biafra Agitators {Must Read} THE Presidency has once again made it clear that it would not consider the 2014 Confab report, despite calls from some quarters that the recommendations be considered and implemented. Asked why the Federal Government would not consider the report, Shehu said: “It was not an inclusive conference. You very well recall that the leaders of our own party – whether ACN and all of that and the governors were missing from that conference. ‘’To make matters worse, the confab was heavily criticised but the Goodluck Jonathan administration went on with it. This (the confab) was lopsided in terms of representation, ethnically, religiously, regionally; and they were insensitive to all of these things and then they want to force it down the throats of everyone. That is why it’s a problem.” President Buhari and his administration had called on aggrieved people in the country to take their grievances to the National Assembly which it said had the constitutional backing to address such concerns. But there had been concerns that it would be impossible to get the National Assembly to make laws in line with the desires and wishes of Nigerians, especially as such laws may be detrimental to interests represented by the lawmakers. Shehu is not bothered by such concerns. Reason: “The members of the National Assembly are not aliens and they don’t come from the moon. They are Nigerians and they are representing definite constituencies in some of the states. So, they are serving the purpose of representation. Why can’t they be trusted?” The Presidential aide suggested that those behind the agitation in the country were those who had failed the nation in the past. “It is not like I have no respect for older people. But there are people who think that they have messed up this country so much that they now want to resolve the problems that they created and they are in a hurry to do that,” he said. Hard knocks for Shehu’s views attracted hard knocks from some delegates to the confab and leaders who insisted that the country must be restructured urgently to accelerate socio-economic growth and development. N1.5billion: Aregbesola Meets 3 Bank Mangers To Bankroll Bye-Election – Civil Society A Civil Society Organization (CSO), the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has disclosed that the State governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola on Saturday night meet with the three (3) new generation bank Managers at the Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo with the aim of releasing the sum of N1.5billion to the State government as a soft term loan to be repaid from London-Paris Club refunds. The investigation raveled to the civil group that the meeting was a result of the recent public outcry by the group (CSCEOS) and retirees under the aegis of Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), alleging plan by the State government to divert the part of the N12.7billion second tranches of Paris Club refunds for the forthcoming Osun West bye-election and this was to avoid the ongoing noise surrounding the Paris Club refunds. Reliable source from government house,Oosgbo has it that they concluded at the meeting with the banks to release N500million each where Sterling Bank agreed to release its own N500million on Monday and they also agreed that the loan would be paid back from Paris Club refunds immediately after the bye-election. In a statement issued by the CSCEOS’ Directorate of Media and Strategy and signed by its Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman and copies were made available to Journalists on Sunday, maintained that the N1.5billion funds in question were meant to be used from Thursday 6th of July, 2017 till Saturday 8th of July, 2017 bye-election day, warned the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the affected banks against collaborating with the State government to divert the Paris Club on frivolity, saying that this was against public probity, accountability and economic justice of the masses. It urged the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) and other security agents to beam searchlight to these banks and other likely banks that might have been contacted by Mr. Aregbesola for this shady deal ahead of July 8th, 2017 bye-election, calling on the well meaning people, especially, elders of the State to call Mr. Aregbesola to order by spending the Second tranches of the London-Paris Club Refunds on the payment of backlog of salary and pension arrears with gratuities, instead of spending the part of the funds on the forthcoming bye-election. …..Says, Ambode is accidental governor A group under the aegis of Save Lagos Group (SLG) has strongly condemned the State governor, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode for sacking of the Anglican Priest, Venerable Femi Taiwo, for allegedly disrespecting the wife of the governor, Bolanle, saying that the action of number one family in the State has revealed that they lacked decorum and humility and fear of God. The group while speaking to Newsflashngr.com described Mr. Ambode as accidental governor who lacked maturity to rule the state if not for the imposition of his God father, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last guber election in the State, urging the Governor to stop political rodomosin because he lacked political hugu-hargar to withstand the Pandora’s Box of the masses in the state. Continue reading here>>>http://www.newsflashngr.com/2017/05/29/democracy-day-lagos-group-condemns-ambode-over-sacking-of-anglican-priest-from-residence-calls-him-accidental-governor/ In a signed statement by the group’s Convener, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman on the marking of democracy day in Nigeria which was made available to Journalists on Monday, urged Senator Bola Tinubu and other leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State to call Ambode to order on this singular action, describing Governor’s action on the Anglican Priest as ungodly, satanic, evil, illegal, unconstitutional, undemocratic, abominable, terrible, unacceptable and crime against humanity and God. Comrade Sulaiman disclosed that the attitude of the Governor and his wife, shown their hatred for the immediate past Governor of the State and now, Minister of Power, Works and Housing (PWH), Mr. Babatunde Fashola, alleging that the hatred to Fashola and his family by Ambode was bone out of sacking of Ambode over fraud while in the Public service of the State as Accountant-General when Fashola was the State helmsman. He then advised the State government to apologize to the Chaplain, Anglican Church and the Christian Community in the State, advising the good people of the State to know the kind of person and character they would vote for as a leader in the coming guber race in the State in 2019. In the meantime, the Civil group has also queried the rationale behind the removal of status of the late Legal Icon and social crusader, Chief Gani Fawehinmi from Ojota area of Lagos State, urging Ambode to erect the status of late Fawehinmi back to the Ojota area within three months, adding that the area and Gani’s status have been served as a symbol of democratic struggle in Nigeria. SLG noted that failure of Ambode to erect back the status within the appropriate time and it means his government sits on keg of gun powder of human rights activists in Nigeria, urging him to act fast so as to stop political detonation in the State. It told Ambode not to be intoxicated with the cosmetic inflated projects being carried out in the state, asking Ambode rhetorically to tell the whole world the cost of each project embarked upon in the State? and also requested from the governor to let the public knew the total cost being spent on the recent celebration of 50 years anniversary of the Lagos State. Speaking further on the democracy day celebration, Sulaiman maintained that the current political class had disappointed the masses without any meaningful different from dark days of Military era, insisting that the current administration in Nigeria has failed woefully in all ramifications. The rights activist told Nigerians not to expect any meaningful dividend of democracy from Muhamadu Buhari’s administration again as the remaining two (2) years of the administration would be engulfed by politicking, enjoying the masses in the country to use their power in the democratic setting which is their votes to vote out the complaint and excuse administration in 2019.

CLO Rates Obiano’s 3 Years In Office Weak Pass, Accuses Him Of Substandard Projects And Feeding Ndi-Anambra With Lies {Must Read} (Conclusion of our 23 pages report on the state of the Nation released after our Zonal Management Committee Meeting in Anambra recently) Looking at the whole scenario and after a critical appraisal of Anambra State under Obiano in the last three years, the Civil Liberties Organisation , South East Zone in a statement issued to Newsflashngr.com, scores the government in the weak pass category. Our reason for arriving at this score is not farfetched, going by the position of the state and its great prospects as the time Chief Obiano took over, the pace of development has been slowed down instead of fast tracking it to the next level. Anambra has no business in borrowing because its financial status is different from others when the incumbent took over. It is ridiculous to clap that government does not owe salaries in Anambra because catering for the percentage of the civil servants in the state should be considered as the least this government can do. We must also clarify that we have nothing personal against Chief Obiano . To be factual, the CLO and its leadership love him more than those or other platforms who are singing his praise today. We want the administration to succeed that is why we say the truth without window dressing. It was Norman Vincent Pearle who said that: “the trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism”. Our concern is for the government to realize its path and get committed in delivering good governance to the people. The government should change its disdain for constructive criticism and rather take corrective measures for its own good. Government doesn’t need to dish out lies, half-truths and falsehood or to bandy figures at the spur of the moment in order to please the audience or tell them what they would like to hear in order to prove that it is working. The imposition of traditional rulers and indiscriminate handing over of certificate of recognition to traditional rulers without proper information from the people of the community or obeying court orders is doing more harm than good to the communities and government. Despite the government claim on the ban of some taxes in the state, the masses are still bleeding from the hands of touts rampaging Onitsha and environs. The decision to still retain the ban on plying of motorcycles on some routes most especially Onitsha –Owerri Road and Onitsha –Awka expressway without an articulated enforcement plan and penalty regime has simply turned to a money making venture for the police. Motorcycle riders now render daily account of between N3000 to N4000 to the police and the ‘business’ has turned so lucrative that policemen now ‘employ’ idle youths to apprehend motorcycle riders for a fee. One bike fetches N500 for the one who apprehends. The government can do well by restructuring this ban or lift it entirely. As the election 2017 in Anambra gets underway, we urge all stakeholders to play by the rules of the game.. Anambra is not at war and nobody should stoke the fire or beat war drums. Let it be free, fair and credible electoral process all the way. INEC must maintain its position as the impartial and unbiased empire. It should be one man, one vote while any form of manipulation should be abhorred. The state will continue to exist while the inhabitants have their lives to live after the election. We leave you with these few foods for thought “The whole of government consists in the art of being honest” Thomas Jefferson “Every country has the government it deserves” Joseph De Maistre, French Writer. “No man is good enough to govern another man without that other’s consent” Abraham Lincoln We conclude finally with the words of Frantz Fannon who said: “The future will have no pity for those who possess the exceptional privilege of being able to speak words of truth to their oppressors but instead have taken refuge in an attitude of passivity, mute indifference and sometimes of cold complicity” Thank you for listening Continue reading here>>>http://www.newsflashngr.com/2017/05/28/tension-clo-rates-obianos-3-years-in-office-weak-pass-accuses-him-of-substandard-projects-and-feeding-ndi-anambra-with-lies-must-read/ Presented by Comrade Aloysius Attah, Chair , CLO, South East Zone on behalf of the ZMC OF THE CLO COMPRISING OF Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme Chair, Anambra State Branch, Comrade Chidi Mbah Sec, Anambra State Branch,Comrade Zulu Ofoelue, Chair Enugu State Branch ,Comrade (Barr) Pedro Azuogu, Chair Abia State Branch, Comrade Paschal Oziri, Chair, Imo State Branch, Comrade Ralph,Chair, Ebonyi State Branch

A human right organisation, the Save Lagos Group has raised an alarm over the fate of two detained citizens in police custody whom the group said have been shot by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force on trumped up allegations. In a statement issued to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM by the Convener of the Save Lagos Group, Comrade Adeniyi A. Sulaiman listed the detainees as Isaiah Olagunju and Taofeek Asewere and that the two are currently being detained at the Lagos State Police Command, specifically, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Ikeja. Sulaiman in the statement made available to newsmen in Lagos on Thursday said the two detainees are currently in critical condition having been shot in the leg by operatives of the squad who he said have refused to grant them any form of contact with their families. He added that the conduct of the operatives of the special unit runs contrary to Section 35 Sub-session 2 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which stipulates that any person accused by law enforcement agents should be given unfettered access to his or her lawyers. He said, “The Isaiah and Taofeek who are currently in detention are tricycle operators in Agbotikuyo area of Agege. They are innocent citizens of this country who have done nothing to infringe on the laws of the land. They are law abiding young men going about their businesses as responsible members of the society.” According to him, the detainees were picked up after a minor clash ensued between them as some people in the area after they (police officer) had been tipped by the other party in the dispute who wanted to ‘deal’ with them for confronting them. Sulaiman said though six of them were initially picked up by operatives of SARS, four had been released leaving both detainees whom he said are being asked to pay the sum of N250,000 each to secure their bail, a condition he said runs contrary to Section 98, 99, 494, 172, 209 of the Criminal Code and 5th Schedule, Part One, Sections 6 and 8 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). “We have been informed reliably that the two are currently suffering bullet wounds to their legs, a condition that puts their lives in a precarious situation that put their survival in jeopardy as they have not been availed medical attention since their detention for over a week. “We are in constant touch with their family members who have told us that they have not been giving the opportunity to see them since their incarceration. They have not been charged to court for any offence neither have they been released to reasonable surety as properly spelt out in Section 35 Sub-section 4 and 5 of the same 1999 Constitution (as amended).” He added that the practice of habitually detaining citizens without trial and unlawfully have become a very common place amongst operatives of the squad, which negates the Police Code of Conducts/Act, Human Rights Correction Act, Citizens’ Fundamental Rights Act/Law Enforcement Agency Act and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). “We are demanding for the immediate release of the detainees unconditionally as they have been subjected to untold hardship and illegal torture in custody. We also telling them to desist from any further harassment and treat to lives of citizens of the state in the guise of performing their duties.” He said. Sulaiman stated that the Save Lagos Group has concluded arrangement to file a suit against the police force based on what he called their “nonsensical constabulary mentality” in the way and manner they perform their duties. He however urged operatives of the unit to rather enforce and preserve the fundamental rights of the innocent detainees and not to violate them arbitrarily as their constitutional role in the society is to ensure the protection of lives and property of the citizens of the country. POSITION OF LAUTECH TEACHING HOSPITAL, OSOGBO ON SENATOR ADELEKE’S AUTOPSY The attention of Management of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo has been drawn to various comments and misinformation credited to the Adeleke family in the electronic, print and social media regarding the role of the hospital in the conduct of autopsy on late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. It is with a high sense of responsibility that the Management of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital wish to make the following statements with a view to putting records straight especially the role played by the hospital in conducting the autopsy on the deceased, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. 1. The Management of the hospital Newsflashngr.com can understand held the distinguished Senator Adeleke as a politician of great reputation for unparalleled philanthropy famous for his concerns for the plight of the downtrodden. We express our heartfelt condolence to the family, the State of Osun and Nigeria at large. 2. On Sunday 23 April, 2017, the fateful day when the corpse of Senator Adeleke was brought to the hospital for autopsy, all necessary facilities, both materials and human were promptly mobilized to carry out a thorough and professional job. When this unfortunate incident occurred, it was not lost on anyone that this is a great challenge, not just the loss of such a great man, but the political milieu and the renowned attitude of some Nigerian politicians to play politics with even the most sacred things. We therefore made up our minds right from the beginning to do a thorough and professional job that can stand professional and ethical scrutiny anywhere in the world. 3. The death of the late Senator was first brought to the attention of the Management by the Medical Director of Biket where the senator’s body was first taken to. The body was met in the LAUTECH hospital with some family members and law enforcement agents including homicide detectives from the Nigeria Police. The Police homicide detectives handed the relevant coroner papers (forms B and C) to the hospital’s pathologist, the only authorized professional in charge of Autopsy in the presence of the family members. 4. It is very important to state categorically that with the completion of forms B and C of the Police ab initio, it is clear that the issue of autopsy is beyond a family wanting to know the cause of death. The import is that the autopsy has become a full criminal investigation into the death of the deceased. It needs to be stressed that the sudden death of any person at home is a coroner case that must be investigated by the Police. In a situation like that, the family no longer has a say in the matter. 5. In line with Global practice and in a case like the above, such reports are NOT given to the family because they could be regarded as potential suspects that should not be allowed to have advance knowledge of findings of the investigations. The full autopsy report was not even made available to the Management of the hospital because the law does not permit the pathologist to do so. 6. The so called authorization by one Mrs. Dupe Adeleke-Sanni as disclosed by the family could not have been the case as the autopsy became coroner’s case as stated above. What Mrs. Dupe Sanni wrote after the completion of the autopsy was what she called ‘Certificate of Honour’ to the hospital with following content: “ on behalf of the Adeleke family, I, Mrs Dupe Sanni hereby certified that the family is satisfied and hereby confirmed our confidence in the pathology examination conducted by the Pathologist in LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo on Senator Isiaka Adeleke, and we are therefore not interested in requesting for a repeat of the examination in any other hospital.” The statement was signed. The Management challenges the family to produce the authorization letter as they claimed. 7. On payment of fee for autopsy, LAUTECH Hospital, like all other hospitals, works round the clock, tests, drugs and procedures can be done and be paid for at any time of the day. Indeed, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo has a fully functional automated payment system that will issue receipts instantly. The truth is that NO PAYMENT WAS MADE by the Adeleke family to the hospital for the autopsy. It is clearly an attempt to smear the hospital to suggest that hospital which runs Children and Adult emergencies could not issue a receipt for payment made on a Sunday. 8. On the allegation of refusal to give tissue (sample) by the hospital, suffice to say that if the family of the deceased are keenly interested in obtaining the samples for autopsy by other agencies/ hospitals, it behoves on them to apply to the coroner for that. The hospital challenges the family to provide a previous letter of application for tissues which was reportedly rejected by the hospital. 9. In conclusions, the hospital discharges its professional duties ethically and we are proud of the conduct of the hospital’s team. We commiserate with the Adeleke family, the people of the great town of Ede and indeed the entire people of Nigeria on the death of this illustrious son. His death was very painful to many people. We in the hospital who were saddled with the responsibility of not just mourning him, but also investigating the cause of his sudden death did our job under very difficult circumstances. We restate that our conduct was strictly based on professional principles. The hospital is devoid of other interest.
