Politics / APC Begs Senate To Tell Wike Allow For Bloodless And Peaceful Re-run Polls by sweetsandy4luv(f): 3:16pm On Nov 08, 2016
…Tells Mr. President to stop Wike from usurping the functions of the Security Agencies

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has cried out to the Senate, appealing to it to prevail on the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, to allow the rescheduled parliamentary re-run elections in the state to hold in an atmosphere of peace and devoid of bloodshed and falsehood.

The party made the appeal while reacting to efforts by the Senate to ensure that the polls, which have been overly delayed because of fear of violence orchestrated by Wike and his PDP hoodlums, are held soon so as to avoid the denial of the electorate in the affected areas their right to choose their representatives in both the State and National Assemblies.

Rivers APC in a statement issued to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM in Port Harcourt on Tuesday said: “We are grateful to the Senate for insisting that the rerun elections in Rivers State be concluded before the end of the second week of December this year. We also commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for adhering to the Senate’s position by fixing 10th December, 2016 for the much-delayed rerun elections.

“We as a party will be most relieved if the rerun polls is finally conducted and concluded on the said 10th December – at least to allow our members who have suffered most in this regard to have the opportunity to take their rightful places in both the National and State Assemblies.

“We, however, remain worried that Chief Wike, who has a disdain for democratic principles and who has turned our dear state into Rivers of Blood, has yet to give a guarantee of peace on in his capacity as the Chief Security Officer of the State.

Therefore, while restating readiness for the 10th December polls, we wish to appeal to the Senate to go further in its concern for the conduct of the ballot by prevailing on Governor Wike to allow for a bloodless and peaceful exercise as he has already shed enough blood, including that of 200 of our members slaughtered by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its agents in the party’s desperation to assume total political control of our state.”

The party also pleads with President Buhari for the sake of peace and security of our dear State to prevail on Gov. Wike to allow peace to reign in Rivers State by stopping to intimidate, frame and arrest members of APC on trumped-up charges and turning the Rivers State Government House into a place of arrest of APC members as he is currently doing.

Wike cannot be allowed to continue to act as if he is operating Rivers State as a different country outside another country call Nigeria. This is to avoid setting up the state on fire as there is a limit to the level of lawlessness being exhibited in Rivers State by the PDP government.

It is sad that by the recent actions of Gov Wike, he has usurped the functions of both the Inspector General of Police and Director of DSS and sadly nobody wants to call him to order? Why must he create uneasiness in Rivers State whenever there will be an election in Rivers State?

Wike must stop his desperation in setting up innocent Rivers men and women who are not members of his political party as none of his acts this time around will stop Rivers State people from voting in Senator Abe and other APC candidates during the rerun election.

Rivers APC Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya in the statement, urged party members and the entire electorate in the affected areas to get ready to punish the bungling PDP on 10th December by voting overwhelmingly for APC candidates.

Politics / CNPP Talks Tough Over Fresh Planned Fuel Price Hike, Urges Nigerians Never To Re by sweetsandy4luv(f): 5:52pm On Nov 07, 2016
….Warns FG of Consequences

With the rumour of a possible increase in pump price of petrol getting stronger by the day, the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) on Monday warned of the imminent consequences of any such plan at a time an average Nigerian citizen can hardly afford one good meal a day.

The Conference, which is the umbrella body of all registered political parties and political associations in the country, also counseled the citizens never to put their hope on Labour unions in Nigeria for any reversal of a hike in pump price if the federal government eventually dances to the tune of the rumour mongers.

In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu and made available to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM, the CNPP maintained that since 2012, it became obvious that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and their allied unions have not proven to be selfless partners with the poor masses in times of need and cannot be trusted at this time or even in the future.

According to the CNPP, “The only hope for the ordinary citizen in the country at a time like this is the CNPP and its coalition of civil society groups.

“Since the rumour of fuel price hike began to make the rounds, observable body language of some government officials as well as their statements point to the fact that the increment is sure to come if the ordinary people did not resist the plan.

“More so, former and present bosses of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have at one time or the other in recent times maintained that the price of fuel might have to be increased from the current rate of N145 per litre due to the rising exchange rate.

“The CNPP is currently mobilizing leaders of the civil society groups for a mother-of-all resistance if the federal government dares to increase the pump price of petrol at any time.

“Nigerians should not be taken unawares at this time. Those who are conversant with the antics of the current administration know that any time such rumour and the attendant denials by the federal government begin, the time for the increment is nearer than imagined.

“But if President Muhammadu Buhari believes that he still has the goodwill that enabled him increase the pump price of fuel from N85.50 to N145, the administration must be joking.

“The Nigerian masses allowed the last fuel price hike because they never wanted the Buhari regime to have any excuse for failure. But today, it has become more obvious that the government has remained on the trial-and-error mode for 18months in office.

“Therefore, we join well meaning Nigerians and the masses of this country to say no to another fuel price hike. The CNPP is set to lead the struggle at this time and the resistance shall be total”, the Conference vowed.

Properties / Save Lagos Group Lauds Lagos Assembly Over Call Banning Demolition Of Slums by sweetsandy4luv(f): 2:47pm On Nov 07, 2016
A civil society organization, Save Lagos Group has lauded members of the Lagos State House of Assembly over their call on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to halt further demolition of slums across riverine areas of the state.

In a statement issued by the Convener, Comrade Adeniyi A. Sulaiman and the Director, Media, Comrade Olaolu Oladipo and made available to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM, The Save Lagos Group urged the Assembly members to expand the resolution to cover other areas of the state.

Reacting to the call the duo specifically lauded the Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Mudasiru Obasa, chairman of the ad hoc committee set up to look into the matters, Hon. Adefunmilayo Tejuosho and other members for taking the decision they consider as populist.

According to the Save Lagos Group, “We welcome the call, which is in line with the desire of our organization considering the prevailing economic reality in the country that prevents the vast majority of Nigerians from accessing decent shelter in their country.”

It added that the Assembly has lived up to its billing as the safeguard of the common man by taking the decision, saying it (the state House of Assembly) has rekindled the confidence of the people of the state that democracy has come to stay not only in the state but across the country.“Our group had in a statement recently called for caution on the part of the state government on the issue as we felt that it would not be in the best interest of the people who are supposed to be the primary responsibilities of those in government.”

While restating its believe that though, the state government owes it a duty to enforcement its laws relating to ensuring sanity in the town planning activities, the Save Lagos Group also used the opportunity to urge the state government to provide alternative arrangements for those to be affected by the planned mass demolition.

Politics / Rivers Re-run: Apc Accuses Wike And Pdp For Deploying Thugs In Fake Sting Operat by sweetsandy4luv(f): 10:52am On Nov 06, 2016
The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress APC said a few days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that the Rivers re-run elections have been fixed for December 10, the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and the PDP have used thugs to stage what they call “bursting of a fake result sheets printing syndicate in Port Harcourt” said to be operated by a purported APC chieftain.

The APC in a statement issued to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM by its spokesman, Senibo Chris Finebone stated that no APC person, chieftain or ordinary member, was involved in any of the purported actions as alleged by Gov. Wike and the PDP assuming without conceding that any such development took place.

The statement reads: “We make bold to state that, at the time of writing this press release, the Rivers State Police Command has not confirmed any such arrest made by its officers and men as alleged. What the governor and PDP are doing this time around is to use their thugs to stage a drama and arrest some innocent persons and detain them in the Port Harcourt Government House without the knowledge of the Nigeria police.“Sadly, the information we hear is that the present melodrama is being carried out by Gov. Wike and the PDP using one Mr. Igbani of the SOS who is a well-known PDP sympathiser who former Police Commissioner Mbu Joseph Mbu used to perpetrate his evil machinations in Rivers State in the past.

“Again, information at our disposal indicates that PDP and Gov. Wike’s thugs are going to individual APC member’s homes to plant incriminating materials then turn around to harass and illegally arrest and detain them with the help of the likes of Mr. Igbani. The activities of this police officer and his associates will be properly unveiled to the public in due course.

“Indeed, it is worrisome when we see the replay of a well-known script of political mischief by the governor and the PDP in Rivers State any time elections have been scheduled. Recall that as the last election was approaching, Gov. Nyesom Wike and the PDP in Rivers State contrived a story with which they used to arrest and incarcerate an APC chieftain, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree.

We believe that the same scenario is playing out again and this time another prominent APC chieftain, Hon. Emma Chinda is being targeted for arrest on trumped up charges purporting a false confessional statement by an alleged suspect.

“The APC would like to unequivocally state that the party has a zero-tolerance for electoral malpractices and does not directly or indirectly engage in any form of electoral malfeasance.

We advise Rivers people and indeed Nigerians not to fall for Gov. Wike’s antics deliberately contrived to tarnish the image of the APC and its members in Rivers State.”

Politics / Call On Buhari By PDP To Sack Amaechi, Onu – Mere Frivolous And Mischievous by sweetsandy4luv(f): 10:41am On Nov 06, 2016
…Says Wike met with Apex Court Judge in Owerri

The Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, said it has taken notice of a press release by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to ask the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu to step aside because some Justices accused and being investigated of corruption had curiously described their investigation as act of persecution by the Buhari administration for not favouring the All Progressives Congress, APC, in election matters arising from the 2015 general elections in some states.

Rivers APC Chairman, Chief (Dr) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, JP, who in a statement yesterday made available to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM, said “the call by the PDP flies in the face of reason, fairness, common sense and cause of justice”, reeled out thus:

“It is a known fact that embattled Justices Sylvester Ngwuta and John Inyang Okoro of the Supreme Court who are currently under DSS investigation for serious corruption charges only resorted to the cheap, convenient, everyday reaction of people caught red-handed committing crimes in order to divert attention away from the grave reality confronting them especially when faced with sufficient evidence.”

“Indeed, it is even more disconcerting that PDP in the said call, refused to recognise the naked fact that by accusing the Ministers of attempting to induce them to pervert the course of justice, the accused Hon. Justices introduced unrelated allegations against innocent persons unconnected with the matter for which they are being investigated, something that many accused persons easily, conveniently and cheaply resort to when caged.

The questions that quickly come to mind include: were the huge sums of money reportedly found in their homes given to them by the Ministers they are accusing? Do the petitions for which the Justices are being investigated have anything to do with Amaechi or Onu? Are Justices of the Supreme Court unaware that relevant laws of the land imposes on them the strict duty to properly and formally report inducement of any kind in a timely manner or risk prison term of not less than 2 years?”

“We urge Mr. President and Nigerians to completely disregard PDP call for the sacking of Amaechi and Onu. Why should they be sacked? What crime did they commit for PDP to call for their sack? These fine gentlemen did nothing wrong.

Mr. President should not and cannot act based on mere accusations from the Supreme Court Justices without any iota of proof or evidence to back their claims. And we should not forget that these Justices only started making these false accusations against Amaechi & Onu, after they were arrested by the DSS.”

“PDP call is fraudulent, unnecessary, a distraction from the real problems of fighting corruption in the Judiciary. They should allow Mr. President fight corruption without their childish, partisan distractions. The President Buhari’s fight against corruption is about Nigeria and moving Nigeria forward.”

“The PDP should rather be calling for the expulsion and sack of their governors and senate minority leader from the South-South region who has been involved in the pervasion of justice in governorship electoral matters by financially inducing the Supreme Court Justices under investigation.”

“Yes, as a party, we re-affirm our belief that the PDP governors and Senate Minority Leader who perverted justice and then turned around to orchestrate wrongful and false accusations against the Transportation Minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi through the Supreme Court Justices in order to cover their tracks, crime, distract attention and destroy Amaechi, are the ones that the PDP should expel from their party, banish from politics and call for their resignation or sacking.”

“Again, we stand by our earlier statement on the ignominious roles of the governors of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta States, and the Senate Minority leader in the pervasion of the course of justice at the apex court and the subsequent failed attempt to pin the Justices’ travails on Amaechi. In the days ahead, more details will continue to come out.

For instance, it is already in the open that Governor Nyesom Wike held a secret meeting in a hotel in Owerri, Imo State with one of the Supreme Court Justices that was arrested by the Directorate of State Services (DSS).

The agenda of that meeting was for the apex court Justice to assist Wike to get a favourable judgement and pervert the course of justice in the Rivers State governorship election matter that was then about going to the apex court.”

Politics / Judiciary Must Save Democracy In Nigeria – Fayose by sweetsandy4luv(f): 3:42pm On Nov 04, 2016
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has called on the judiciary to rise in defence of democracy by doing justice fearlessly, speedily and with honesty in the Ondo State election cases and other political
cases before the courts.

Governor Fayose, who hailed the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa for the swift composition of a new panel to hear appeals over the governorship candidate of the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, urged the panel to be mindful of delay tactics by the same people who wrote frivolous petition to impugn on the integrity of the initial panel.

In a statement issued on Friday, by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose urged the new Appeal Panel to “do justice unto God and
not unto powers that be and be mindful that justice delayed is justice denied.”

The governor condemned the silence of President Mohammadu Buhari on the Ondo State matter, saying; “Silence of the president on a matter that poses serious threat to democracy in the country is highly disturbing.”

He said; “No doubt, democracy in Nigeria is being threatened by the open collaboration of the APC led federal government with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and only a God
fearing judiciary can save the situation from getting out of hands.“In its desperation to distract the PDP and rig the Ondo State election in advance for the APC, INEC has chosen to abandon its own law by endorsing someone who did not emerge through any known
electoral process as the candidate of the PDP, thereby plunging Ondo State into crisis.

“There is no doubt that all other political parties in Nigeria except the APC are now contesting elections against INEC. But like every afflictions of the Israelites, this too will not endure forever.

“The new Appeal Panel must therefore do its job speedily and timely so that the rez is not destroyed and in the process destroy what is remaining of our democracy. The panel should remember the Biblical
Solomonic judgment that saved that harlot and her child and must not allow enemies of democracy to use delay tactics to frustrate the case.”

Speaking further, Governor Fayose said it was worrisome that in its bid to turn Nigeria to a one-party state, the judiciary was being harassed and intimidated to submission.

“We are at a critical junction in our history as a nation, noble men are becoming helpless daily and we need God to intervene through the judiciary.

“If the judiciary fails to rise to this perilous situation and save our democracy from the hands of the APC cabal, it will not survive the onslaught that will be brought on it sooner than later,” he said.

While calling on the people of Ondo State to stand up and defend democracy in their State, Governor Fayose assured that anti-democracy elements trying to manipulate the November 26 election in advance will be defeated by the collective will of the people.

He charged the APC led federal government to put food on the tables of Nigerians instead of preoccupying itself with its political expansion agenda.

Politics / Apc Accuses Wike, Akpabio And Others, Says – They Are Behind Amaechi's Troubles by sweetsandy4luv(f): 10:55pm On Nov 03, 2016
APC ACCUSES WIKE, AKPABIO AND OTHERS, SAYS – THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCUSATION LEVELED AGAINST AMAECHI BY SUPREME COURT JUSTICES

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress APC said the allegations against Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi by Justice Inyang Okoro and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court have been linked to several top Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders.

The APC in a statement signed by its Chairman, Chief (Dr) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, JP and made available to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM, alleged that the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, the governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Akwa Ibom State Udom Emmanuel and the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom state who’s now the Senate Leader, Godswill Akpabio (all PDP leaders) have been linked to the Supreme Court Justices’ allegations against Amaechi

The Statement reads: “These big Four PDP politicians are said to be the biggest spenders who allegedly induced and bribed the Supreme Court Justices with hefty sums of money to get favorable judgements. They are said to be the major sources of the money, wealth and properties that has been traced by the DSS to Justices Okoro and Ngwuta.

“These PDP bigwigs are said to have advised the Justices to drag Amaechi into their arrest and investigation by the DSS. They believe doing so would muddle the waters, divert the media and public attention from the corruption allegations against them and make the whole arrest and investigations look like a political vendetta against the Justices.
Our findings indicate that they told the Justices that the Buhari government is after them, wants to bring them down, and that they must drag Amaechi down as well. They deceived the Justices to think and believe that Amaechi is the one behind their travails because of some State governorship electoral matters the apex court handled, that the All Progressives Congress(APC) lost.

Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta governorship election appeals were cited to hoodwink Justices Okoro and Ngwuta into believing that Amaechi orchestrated their arrest and investigation.

“It would be recalled that in the recent past, a few media outlets, especially SAHARA REPORTERS had written articles on the scandal and the link between Justices Okoro and Ngwuta of the apex court and these four PDP leaders.

SAHARA REPORTERS had specifically written about how huge sums of money in different currencies, were channelled by these PDP leaders to induce the Supreme Court Justices to influence Supreme Court rulings and get favourable judgements in the governorship election appeals of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta States.

“ And Amaechi was targeted because the four of them – Wike, Akpabio, Udom and Okowa – see Amaechi as a big threat to their political ambitions and calculations ahead of 2019 elections. All four are from the South-South region, just like Amaechi.

Politics / Obiano’s Re-election And The Discontent Within by sweetsandy4luv(f): 3:42pm On Nov 02, 2016
By November next year, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would have conducted elections into the office of Governor of Anambra State preparatory to March 17, 2018 formal handover to the winner of the election or swear-in the incumbent Governor, Chief Willie Obiano expected to contest for a second term in office if he won.

Obiano was sworn-in as the seventh executive Governor of the State on March 17, 2014 at the Alex Ekwueme square in Awka amidst expectations that he would pick the state’s developmental gauntlet from where his Predecessor, Mr. Peter Obi stopped.

Obiano’s emergence as the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2013 governorship election was a thing of compromise so to say considering that the then Governor, Mr. Peter Obi had said his successor would come from Anambra North Zone.

This he said would be in keeping with the spirit of Anambra’s political configuration since the south zone had since creation of the state in 1991 produced Governors in Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, Senator Andy Uba, and Dame Virgy Etiaba, while the central zone had produced Dr. Chris Ngige and himself.

It was one idea that was timely and which he pursued with vigour making promises to the people of Anambra North during his second term campaigns, swearing at each stop to drum home the sincerity of the promise.

Thus, he charged the elders, Traditional Rulers and Town Union Presidents-General from the zone to discuss and give him an acceptable candidate who would success him.

This prompted the people of the area to set up a committee comprising all the Traditional Rulers, stakeholders and presidents-General from the communities that make up the seven local government areas in the zone. The committee which was chaired by the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe had after a painstaking search culminating in interviewing all the aspirants on the platform of APGA from the zone came up with the name of Dr. Chike Obidigbo, an industrialist and manufacturer who was then the chairman of Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi States chamber of commerce and Industry as their choice candidate and submitted to Governor Peter Obi who accepted same.

In fairness, Chief Willie Obiano who was then in his home at Houston, United States of America (USA) was not among those interviewed by the committee and was not in the picture. But somehow, the name of Obiano cropped up in the run to the primaries of APGA after the Chief Victor Umeh led national executive of the party allegedly rejected the northern committee’s choice in a meeting with Christian leaders in the states and other stakeholders of the party in Awka, necessitating that the meeting was down for more than an hour to enable Chief Umeh call Obiano in the United States.

Chief Joe Martins Uzodike, Peter Obi’s Commissioner for Information at the time told NEWSMEN that when Obiano was contacted on phone, he had said that he was swimming in his compound in America and should be given some time to consult with his wife.

“When he eventually called back to accept the offer to come and be the preferred candidate of APGA in the election, he complained that he hadn’t enough money to immediately take a flight back home and wherewithal to prosecute the campaigns to which he was assured of ample assistance.

And there and then, an arrangement was made through a businessman from Awgbu in Orumba North Local Government Area of the State resident in Lagos to transfer some United States dollars to Obiano to enable him transport himself home. The rest is now history”, he said.

Further checks revealed that this last minute game that changed the Anambra North Committee’s choice of Dr. Chike Obidigbo as their candidate in preference to someone who did not even participate in their screening and interviews later become a thing of disagreement between Obi and Igwe Achebe who accused the former of betrayal and nonchalant treatment to his person prompting his resignation then as the chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council. He has since been persuaded back to his chair.

The former Governor it was also learnt had apologized to the revered Monarch and Dr. Chike Obidigbo expressing regrets.

Bygone, barely two years in the saddle as Governor of Anambra State and with an eye on re-election, Obiano appears to be having multiple challenges that may derail and the threaten his chances of greeting re-elected for a second term in office as Anambra State Governor. The discontents are a product of his activities in office in the last two years coming from both his APGA and even the people of Omambala area comprising the contiguous local government areas bordering the Omambala River in Anambra North from where he hails from.

The four local government areas are Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum and Oyi.
Even as Obiano hails from Aguleri in Anambra East local government area, there is a growing discontent from his Omambala brothers that he is not doing enough for the people from the communities in these four local government areas other than his immediate Aguleri community.

He has been roundly accused of nepotism in both appointments and infrastructural development in favour of his Aguleri community to the exclusion of other communities, and that he is totally disconnected from the reality of the after-effects of his lopsided appointments and the grassroots.

For instance, there is this allegation that about – 70% of his Special Assistants and Advisers are either from his Aguleri community or Ogbunike in Oyi local government area from where his wife hails making tongues wag as to whether these two communities alone ensured his victory at the polls. We further find out that four of his first cousins from Ihiala, Ihiala local council are his Senior Special Assistants. It is understood that their mother is the elder sister to the Governor’s mother.

Besides, members of APGA in the state who worked for him during the elections are now disenchanted with his obvious nepotism which favored his former classmates and old Boys of Christ the King College(CKC), Onitsha as well as some Diaspora Anambrarians in the United states who were with him while there to the exclusion of those on the ground that even ensured he became governor. There were also former Directors of failed banks who worked with him previously in first Bank plc and other places.

“Let me be honest to you. The Governor has show disdain to APGA members in the state. He didn’t remember them in his appointments and no sooner did he win elections than he abandoned the party structure. Imagine that out of over 200 political appointments he made, about 140 are his kInsmen, inlaws and relatives. If that is not nepotism then what is it”? Johnson Emeh, an APGA stalwart in Orumba South added.

According to him, when the Governor was picked as APGA Flag bearer, in 2013, he had no campaign structure because he was in the Diaspora and not on the ground.
Then his Kinsman, Chinedu Idigo, a lawyer and leading aspirant then offered him his campaign structure with which he campaigned and won the governorship election but today Idigo has been frustrated out of APGA, all because of the way the Governor abandoned him.

Outside of nepotism in appointments, the Governor has also been accused of nepotism in citing of projects especially roads, or outright abandonment of the ones he inherited from the Obi administration to the discontent of the affected communities or diversion all the same thereby abandoning his 4Cs he promised Ndi Anambra.
Mr. Hycinth Obiudu from Nteje, Oyi Local government area in Omambia axis of Anambra North district also said in Nteje that Governor Obiano has been sectional in his road protects in Anambra North and that apart from some township and streets roads built in Otuocha and Aguleri town in Anambra East local government Area of the State, no new roads had been constructed and the ones he inherited in the area had been abandoned.
He gave instances with the Nteje-Odumodu road and the Awkuzu-Nando road as well as several other roads in Oyi, Anambra East and Ayamelum which the Governor inherited from the Obi administration but which were all abandoned today.

He said the state governments claims on Anambra rice is false because the Rice had been existing.
He said the he owed a Rice farm in Omor, Ayamelum Local council of the state and that no access roads to the best of his knowledge had been provided for the farms.

What is happening he said is that middlemen who are government agents come to buy the local Rice from them and send to a milling plant in Amichi, Nnewi south Government area of the State and package them in bags with Anambra Rice inscription and sell to marketers in the state’s markets at very ridiculous prices.

“A bag of local Rice in Anambra costs as much as N15, 000. It is not even found anywhere because these middlemen hoard them.

The loan the state government promised Rice farmers could not be accessed, no assistance whatsoever. For the people of Anambra North it is like wasted years and another election is fast approaching.

“I just pray that he does something before the elections because people are not happy at all”, he said,

further investigation revealed that despite the discontent from the people of Anambra North Zone, people from the central zone of the state are not amused either.

An Awka indigene who pleaded to remain anonymous said in Awka that before Peter Obi left office, he had awarded the contract for the dualisation of both sides of the Umuokpu- Amansea end of Enugu/ Onitsha expressway which is in total disrepair.

Amansea is the border town between Anambra and Enugu States. It is being alleged he said that the office of the Commissioner for works under the former Governor Obi kept aside the sum of N24Billion for the completion of the road which was on-going before Obiano came, adding that the moment the Governor took over, he allegedly diverted the money to the construction of township streets in his native Aguleri community abandoning the road till now.

Nobody he said is against his building of roads in his area of the state but that he shouldn’t have diverted the money meant for projects in Awka to elsewhere.

He further alleged that the Amansea-Awba- Ofemili Ebenebe road, Awka-Okpuno- Amanuke road, all in Awka North and the Ekwulobia- Ezinifite road in Aguata, among others, all of which were at various stages of completion before Obiano came were abandoned more than two years after.

Similarly, a group “Omambala Rebirth unity forum” which is an association of stakeholders from the four Local government areas that make up the Omambala area of Anambra North Zone where the Governor hails from Penultimate week bemoaned the way Governor Obiano allegedly threw away the goodwill of Anambra people who gave him their mandate in 2013 governoship election in the state and his seeming insensitivity to cries of nepotism as evidenced in his lopsided political appointments and abandonment of inherited projects in the state.

Politics / How Governor Umahi Turned Ebonyi State Into A Huge Construction Site: An Insider by sweetsandy4luv(f): 12:35pm On Nov 02, 2016
By Eze Monica. C. Ada

Intro.

“Well, I cannot in all honesty understand how these works have been achieved within this short time and, indeed, in the climate of dire economic shortages of government. I am impressed that you were able to do these works within the cost you mentioned. I can, in all honesty, tell you that the work is far beyond the cost.

Now, this is a standard for other states and the Federal Government to emulate. To me, Governor Umahi is one of the few persons who believe that meagre resources could be used to achieve much, if we remove greed, which breeds corruption. Without mincing words, Umahi, is better than some governors in my own party, the APC.”

Engr. Babachir Lawal, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), made the above statement during his one-day working visit to Ebonyi State, during which he inspected and commissioned some projects undertaken by the 17-month-old administration of the governor, Chief David Nweze Umahi, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

The SGF inspected two dual carriageway fly-overs at the African Trans-Sahara Highway currently under construction, after which he commissioned the Governors’ Lodge, named after the first civilian governor of the state, Senator Sam Egwu, as well as the CBN Road at the Centenary City, Abakaliki.

Not minding that I am a daughter of Ebonyi State, I must confess that I became a proud daughter after reading this historical statement made by a notable official of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration and patriotic Nigerian, on my uncle, Governor Umahi, who has proved that he was committed to taking Ebonyi to the next level. My interest to investigate the veracity or otherwise of the statement credited to the SGF and APC chieftain gave birth to this article.

Please, read on and pass judgment, as you deem fit.

Umahi’s Mission Statement

Our mission is to enhance the welfare of our people, and empower all Ebonyians to be self-reliant, through the compassionate delivery of transparent and God-fearing governance, based on integrity and dignity.

Ebonyi’s Core Values

“In this administration, everything I do must reflect my covenant with God, which he gave to me by himself, namely:-

1. To serve Ebonyi State with the fear of God

2. To prosper Ebonyi State with the word of God

3. To make Ebonyi State the number one economy in the whole country

4. To passionately help the widows and the oppressed

5. To build a befitting place of worship like Solomon did, so that any Ebonyian that is faced with any difficulty anywhere in the world and turns to the direction of the temple, and calls upon the name of the Lord, God will answer such prayers.”

Works Commissioner a Round Peg in A Round Hole

Engr Nweze Fidelis Kings (MNSE), was on July 3, 2015 appointed into the State Executive Council and designated the Honourable Commissioner for Works & Transport, by His Excellency David Umahi (FNSE, FNATE, FCAI).

This great son of Ebonyi was charged with the enormous responsibilities of coordinating the activities of the ministry, and implementing the bulk of the policy thrust of this present administration. A notable workaholic and a seasoned administrator, he is the tool in the hands of the executive governor in the ongoing revolution, which has gradually turned the state into a huge construction site.

The commissioner delights and takes pleasure in ensuring that high-quality jobs are delivered before stipulated time frame. This energetic and committed leader visits up to five construction sites in different locations within the morning hours, before he resumes in the office at 9.am, and still inspects more before close of work daily. An astute administrator, Engr Kings is a humble man full of zeal, and with a lion’s heart.

The success story of the Ministry of Works and Transport is traced to the leadership’s trust and total commitment to God, who inspired the governor to appoint a man who has the fear of God to pilot the affairs of the core ministry.

Within the first month of his appointment, the honourable commissioner renovated an old building in the ministry and converted same to a befitting Chapel, for compulsory weekly prayers and thanksgiving by all the staff and other occupants of the ministry’s premises.

During Special Quarterly Thanksgiving Services, the proceeds are used to reach out to prisoners, Motherless Baby’s Home, Old People’s Home and hospitals, where bills of indigent patients (who cannot afford their bills) are settled, and affected patients discharged.

The Umahi administration is generally anchored on a divine mandate, equity, love and unity of all Ebonyi people – irrespective of political, ethnic and religious affiliations – through equal distribution of road infrastructure in all the zones of the state. We are confident to get to our desired destination of being the number one state in the country.

Below is a comprehensive list of completed and ongoing projects in all the three senatorial zones, and Abakaliki, the state capital.

Genesis of Ebonyi As Huge Construction Site

To actualise its noble objective of zero tolerance for dusty roads all-around the state capital and in the hinterlands, the state government under the leadership of Engr Umahi, procured equipment for road construction, reconstruction and maintenance of roads in both urban and rural areas in the state. In addition to the construction equipment, the government also procured pick-up vans as project vehicles, to facilitate speedy service delivery in the ministry.

The Ministry of Works and Transport, saddled with the responsibility of massive road construction, has since inception of this administration embarked on reconstruction of dilapidated roads in the urban areas. The success story so far is there for all to judge.

On December 3, 2015, Umahi flagged off the construction of some rural roads in the three senatorial zones, in addition to the 50-kilometre roads within the urban area, which he had earlier flagged off on December 1, 2015. These roads include: Amasiri–Uburu –Okposi Road for Ebonyi South; Nkalagu–Ehamufu Road for Ebonyi Central; Hill-top –Nwofe Road for Ebonyi North.

This is in fulfillment of his campaign promises of running an all-inclusive government where all Ebonyi people will be carried along. The construction of a 15-kilometre road for each of the 13 local government areas in the state has since commenced.

The governor has also graciously approved the hiring of some expatriate engineers for the purpose of transference of knowledge and skills to our indigenous engineers, with a view to stabilising the technical manpower of the ministry.

Politics / Amaechi Hails Late Chief GU Ake’s Values, ‘I Was Governor By Divine Mandate by sweetsandy4luv(f): 5:20pm On Oct 31, 2016
NEWSFLASHNGR report – Former Rivers State Governor and Minister for Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has hailed former Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Rivers State, Late Chief GU AKE as a peace loving man who contributed immensely to human capital development.

Amaechi stated this at Erema, Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni Local Government Area of the state, during the burial ceremony of the Late Chief Godspower Umejuru Ake, on Friday. The late Chief Ake was an ally of the Transportation Minister. He was also a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly in the first Republic.

Amaechi who also acknowledged the role played by the Late Chief G.U Ake in his guber ambition explained that many whom the elder statesman assisted in life turned against him before his death.

“Chief was a very peace loving man and a peaceful man; the way he walks and the way he talks you will know that he never liked violence. A lot of us seated here today have benefited from chief in one way or the other.
Starting from Chief Rufus Ada George and Dr. Peter Odili, my former boss. After God, Chief contributed in making Dr. Peter Odili deputy governor and contributed to also making him governor. So chief helped to make governors after God”.
“After Dr. Peter Odili became governor, Chief helped to make me governor. I will tell you one lesson I learnt from chief. He said people will continue to betray you so let it not worry you.
A lot of people that were chief’s friends betrayed him. Chief taught me that where there is no God there will be no peace.
I thought Chief would die when Felix Obuah “Go-round” betrayed him. If you all remember “Go round” was shot in his privates, the first man that rushed to me was Chief G.U Ake, he gave me an ultimatum that I must fly him (Go- round) out to South Africa for treatment and I brought the money, he was flown abroad and was treated, but today “Go round” has betrayed Chief.”

“We must look at what has happened to our own leader, our own father. A child in Omoku (Chief’s home town) went to court and lied against Chief, and removed him because they had power of the Presidency.
I know chief very well and was close to him, chief was a good adviser, he was not greedy, and he died a Rivers man. All those he helped are not here. I owe him nothing than this respect and to continue to be a member of his family,” Amaechi said.

Recalling his victory as the then Governor of Rivers State, Amaechi said his victory was through a divine mandate and not by shedding of human blood, adding that one of his greatest successes recorded as governor was that Rivers State did not experience killings and human massacre as it is currently prevalent under the present administration.

Politics / Don’t Sign The Amened Ccb/cct Act – Cnpp Warns Buhari by sweetsandy4luv(f): 7:34pm On Oct 30, 2016
The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has strongly condemned the amendment to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Act by the National Assembly (NASS) and urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to sign the amended Act.

The CNPP also called on well meaning Nigerians and the Civil Society groups in the country, including the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), to mount pressure on Mr. President to withhold his assent to the said amendment.

The umbrella body of all the registered political parties and associations in the country, in a statement issued to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM on Sunday and signed by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu, noted that the CNPP’s decision was taken after a careful study of the amendment and the circumstances surrounding the controversial move.

Parts of the statement read: “We are taken aback that just months after it initially suspended the move to amend the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Act, the National Assembly subtly passed the amendment Bill into law.

“When the plan by the National Assembly to amend the Act first became known to members of the public, there was deafening outcry, which forced the lawmakers to suspend the move.
“The CNPP, just like many other Nigerians had thought that the National Assembly by the suspension of the earlier move to amend the CCT/CCB Act was a sign of good days ahead where the lawmakers respect the majority opinion of their respective constituencies.

“But the subtle passage of the amendment Bill is an indication that the National Assembly is serving the interest of its principal officers, and not that of the Nigerian people who unfortunately elected this crop of lawmakers, so insensitive to the core issues bothering the ordinary citizens”, the CNPP observed.

The Conference also noted that “The speed with which the amendment was carried out at a time some principal officers were accused of false declaration of assets is an indication of the interest it intended to serve.

Celebrities / Miss Anambra Cucumber S*X Scandal: Weep For Anambra Not Chidimma – CLO Tells Nig by sweetsandy4luv(f): 10:11pm On Oct 29, 2016
For some days now, the entire cyberspace and other gadgets have been awash with the lurid videos of l.es.b!ian act with Miss Chidimma Okeke, the hurriedly dethroned Miss Anambra 2015.

The s*x act recorded with professional camera and experienced hands editing is not only disgusting to watch but simply portrays the level of moral depravity prevalent in the society today.

The video and act not only debases the pride of womanhood and the worth of the girl- child but is a pointer that the many have descended to the level of not being better than animals in their instincts.

Several voices have spoken condemning Miss Chidimma, calling for her head and so much other views while majority have also failed to realize the age long saying that “there is no smoke without fire”.

That the average pr.o.stit*te is still hustling in the streets every night is a pointer that there are still willing patrons who drop money to sleep with her.

Chidimma and her co-partners actions are highly condemnable while we know that l.es.bian!ism or same s*x act/ marriage is prohibited and criminalized in our laws but we need to go beyond the actual act and find out those behind the scene and their roles in the sordid act.

Who recorded the video? Who leaked it online? What was the motive for recording such? Who commissioned the act? Was it really a precondition before announcing Chidimma as the pageant winner?

Who are the people behind the scene directing the act with one even helping in parting legs? So many unanswered questions!
The pageant organizers and management of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) need to tell the whole world what they know in the whole saga and why they hurriedly withdrew the crown and car from Chidimma few hours before the s*x video went viral.

Chidimma has alleged threat to her life and had to chicken out of an earlier scheduled press briefing where she would have revealed what we don’t know.

We call for adequate security for her presently while she should be monitored closely so that she won’t take any rash action that may injure her life.

She needs psychological and spiritual rehabilitation as well as deliverance/exorcism presently. It is also very important she is guided to say all she knows about the ugly incident.

The actual act is a dent on the image of the state while the silence of the state actors since the video went viral is not only an indictment but suggest an act of complicity and a ploy to shield some individuals.

Anambra is the light of the nation and should be a pace setter in all facets of excellence.

Unfortunately, those who should show the way are sometimes caught in the web of Epicureanism and other indulgences which are in contrast with the state shared values.

The Miss Anambra s*x scandal has brought to the fore certain musings in the public domain that some ladies are used as s*x toys for top government functionaries, some aides and proponents of second term groups in Anambra.

The musing also indicted two hotels in Awka capital where such bizarre acts go on unhindered. Urgent investigation is needed here.

Politics / Re: The 4 Men Who May Likely Replace Oye Revealed And Maxi Okwu’s Top List by sweetsandy4luv(f): 7:24pm On Oct 27, 2016
So sorry is a mix up
SamuelAnyawu:
Wetin Bring Oyegun pix there?

I hope the APGA crises will not affect Obiano's re-election bid? grin
Politics / The 4 Men Who May Likely Replace Oye Revealed And Maxi Okwu’s Top List by sweetsandy4luv(f): 7:16pm On Oct 27, 2016
Newsflashngr– The members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the embattled All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who a fortnight ago met with the elders of the party alongside the chairman of its Board of Trustees and Leader, Gov Willie Obiano in the Governor’s Lodge, Awka appear unfazed by efforts at dousing the tension in the committee.

The meeting called at the instance of the governor was his last effort to save the party and perhaps the job of the former national chairman, Dr Victor Oye who was earlier suspended indefinitely by the NWC.

But indications show that the NWC and indeed political watchers were already looking beyond Oye as they have penciled down no fewer than four persons who might replace the suspended chairman. Oye was alleged to be an unrepentant insolent braggart who has already lost the confidence of the members.

More so, they saw him as an outsider who didn’t invest in the party in any way, nor was ready to do so anyday. NWC also say that he sees himself as the emperor who deserved to be worshipped by all always.

Virtually all members of the 29-member NWC saw nothing good in him. Again, no member of the party, irrespective of his/her status has a kind word for Oye. And he hardly help matters as he was described as a round-the-clock man of pride who after visiting and riding with his predecessor, Chief Victor Umeh want to be as rich, connected and respected and honoured like him.

Again, he neither has any love for Umeh nor was he ready to pay the price Umeh has paid in his about 12 years in the saddle. Oye was also accused of not releasing the monthly allowances of the NWC members to them in the last 16 months he has led the party. But it remains to be verified.

The vexed members saw as mere papering the cracks within the committee all attempts to save Oye.

Situation appeared so bad now that they vowed not to honour any meeting called by him, henceforth.

That was why they had already gone to court seeking an injunction to restrain him from parading himself as the party’s national chairman, until further notice.

They pointed out that their collective rejection of the food, drinks, water and all at the Awka stakeholders’ meeting, and rather choosing to drive away into the midnight that day would have alerted anyone that there was serious problem.
According to the acting national chairman, Ozo Nwabueze Okafor, “we are not in this struggle for any financial, personal or selfish reason. We are trying to save our party from the dangerous bend the suspended national chairman was taking the party on.”

Again, on the claim by Oye that someone was sponsoring them, Okafor described it as ridiculous and insulting.

He wondered whether it was the phantom sponsor that made him a braggart, commit all the listed constitutional breaches he was accused of. Or has he disproved or denied any of the allegations brought against him?
NWC has clearly indicated that they were not particular about who is chosen to replace Oye, but were emphatic that he must go if the slide in the party would stop. That even if party leader chooses from within the set up or anyone earning his personal confidence, that they had lost confidence irretrievably in Oye long before now.

Umeh, from records was a committed foundation member of the party and has fought many wars, without really castigating anyone, not even ex-Gov Peter Obi who has stood between him and the senate.

But Oye has not hidden his dislike for Umeh or the rest members of the NWC and Obi. He speaks wide and without control thereby failing to keep track of his words that he swears in self defense until confronted with the recorded versions, to his shame.

Already lined up to take over his job are Chiefs Amechi Obidike, Ifeanyi Udokwu, Ifeanyi Ibezi, Maxi Okwu and Titus Anagbogu.

Apart from Ibezi, it was doubtful if any of these has any knowledge of their being propositioned for the job.

According to an Abia state based Enugu-born politician, Godson Ugwu, “I may not know all of them too well but Obidike was the immediate past state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had to resign his position in solidarity to Gov Obiano (APGA) having hailed from same Aguleri and sits at the palace Council of HRH Igwe Christopher Idigo of Aguleri together.

It was suggested that Chief Amechi, described as a thoroughbred political all rounder was well equipped, experienced and has the character and candor of a potential party leader.

He led ACN, and later APC until he resigned on self volition because of his personal love for Obiano.

Newsflashngr further investigation reveals, his political ligaments cut across parties, geopolitical zones and class, that all political strategists consult him daily till date.

Said to be a key advocate of politics without bitterness who had maintained a low profile since joining APGA the moment he left his APC position.

He was said to have played key role in planting APC in the South East zone and has a lot of stops to pull whenever push comes to shove.

If he gets the APGA top job, he would become the only ear-to-the-ground Obiano would have in the party hierarchy since he (the governor) has none presently. Oye was said to lack the ability to court any such relationship within the NWC presently.

Ibezi: described as a very young eager politician who can step into Oye’s shoes, but was seen by key party elements as too inexperienced to shoulder the complicated responsibility of national chairmanship of APGA.

Udokwu: can do it but has the limitation of having concentrated his political career in only Anambra state. That coordinating the party in the zone would prove an uphil task for him, let alone nationwide.

Anagbogu: has the mien, attitude of a leader who can harness the political fortunes of the party.

He has the carriage and viable mental capacity to do it, but it was clear that Obiano’s concern was his nomination, hence would need a close pal. But if he sees Anagbogu as earning trust and confidence, so be it.

There are many other equally capable party chieftains who have what it takes. But for now, it was clear that saving Oye would actually cost APGA its pride of place among the nation’s political parties, not just Obiano.

He therefore need to be given a soft landing to go, as all reasons for trying to save him were actually the key reasons for him to go before he does more damage to the party, including anti-party acts. He knows this.

…we now challenge Uche Nworah to say all he knows about the blackmail and act of l.es.bian!ism against Chidinma Okeke – veteran Uche Ezechukwu

…We call on the new media to join this struggle to expose the cartel behind this evil act of using our young girls for cooperate pr*stitution

Uche Ezechukwu, a veteran and highly respected journalist accuses Uche Nworah, the MD ABS Awka who is also an SA to governor Obiano and the CEO Anambra Beauty Pageant of having a hand on the blackmail, abuse and destruction of the future of Chidinma Okeke, Miss Anambra 2015.

Mr Ezechukwu reacting to the sacrilegious l.e!sbi.an s*x video of Miss Anambra stated, “Mr Uche Nworah should please make public what happened during and after Chidinma’s birthday party which was officially hosted for her. Uche Nworah should please name those who were present and their contributions”.Mr Ezechukwu alleged that Chidinma’s ordeal started when Uche Nworah and ABS organised a birthday bash for Miss Chidinma in which they brought in people in govt and powerful politicians that graced the event. These powerful individuals made donations running into millions and an attempt by the organisers to hijack the money and leave Chidinma with penny resulted into this blackmail.

According to Uche Ezechukwu, “Chidinma is suspecting that one of her chaperons must have been used to drug her drink. It started with a rousing birthday party for her to which many people in and out of government were invited.

They made a lot of monetary donations amounting to hundreds of thousands of naira. Her handlers insisted on keeping a lion share of the money which was her birthday presents. Politics / Buhari’s Cabinet Unsettles As New Wave Of Corruption Sets In Within Aso Rock by sweetsandy4luv(f): 7:35am On Oct 27, 2016
The ongoing power-play among the top managers of the Buhari administration may have taken a turn for the worse as more information of the practices and/or mode of operation of the Chief of Staff and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation leak out into the public arena.

This is as many within the Buhari cabinet have learned that the duo have virtually reserved the many vacant political appointments for sale. Many of the political positions which the President is expected to fill, is reported to have been reserved for the highest bidder – and not for the most qualified.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Lawal was made to head the committee to seek qualified candidates to fill many of the vacant positions. The committee recently submitted its report to the President – and had since began to cash-in on the golden opportunity.

Our source indicated that the delay in Mr. President’s appointments to fill the many vacant positions was largely due to the chief of staff and the secretary to the government of the federation’s determination to only recommend persons who have paid for the said position.

The source pointed to the many heads of parastatals who were appointed by the previous administration under the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] – who are yet to be replaced – as evidence and/or symptomatic of the “pay to play” scheme operated by the two top administrators of the Buhari administration.

“The PDP appointees are still at their work posts because they have settled the chief of staff and his partner. It is that simple.” The source continues that “many of the appointments made recently by the President showed how the President placed round pegs into square holes“.

The appointees were brought in from the “outside” with expertise that was tangential to the required work experience. In some cases, the work experiences possessed were completely unrelated to the post being filled. The recent fourty six appointments to head the boards of the many parastatals were fingered also as part of the corruption that has become the norm in the Buhari cabinet.

The source cites the delay in replacing the Ministerial slot of Kogi State [James Ocholi] – that was left vacant after the Minister died in a car crash with his wife and son.

The delay according to the source was the result of waiting for the right bidder to pay for the position. “They don’t remember that the ministerial slots are constitutional. They denying Kogi State their constitutional rights for selfish pecuniary reasons.”

Previously, chief among the aggrieved and/or complainants had been the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi who had engaged in a shouting match with the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari over appointments and contract approvals by the President.

A shouting match had also occurred between the Environment Minister and the Chief of Staff over access to the President. The chief of staff had wanted to limit access to the President for all the ministers. He wants all communication with the president to go through him alone.

Interestingly, the new bickering has not come with the customary shouting matches – according to our source.

But a majority of the Ministers are unhappy with the management of the President’s cabinet by the chief of staff and the secretary to the government of the federation. They cite the manner the cabinet weekly meetings have been reduced to an all comers affair – where non-cabinet level members are invited to sit-in during the meetings.

Such non-cabinet level persons like Garba Shehu and other presidential aides were reported to sit-in during weekly cabinet meetings with Ministers and other cabinet level members. The ministers are not comfortable with the arrangement.

With the recent directive by the President for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] to open a broad reaching investigation into Judiciary and the involvement of his aides in the supposed financial crimes alleged by the DSS, the Ministers appear jittery and unsettled over the direction the probe will take.

Politics / ND Avengers Cries Out – We Have Been Raped For Too Long, Enough Is Enough by sweetsandy4luv(f): 6:59am On Oct 27, 2016
Agitations are the rights of component unit in federalism, we owe no authority, tribe or political group any apology. It is the responsibility of the central government to cooperatively manage them rather than overheating the system by thinking of fierce responses (decisive military action), Niger Delta Avengers has said.

“It is disgusting for President Muhammadu Buhari and his tribesmen to equate the revenue priorities of the Niger Delta region with regional comparisons of development in Nigeria. For crying out loud, since 1914 our resources have being the essence of this union called Nigeria before crude oil was discovered.

The amalgamation of southern and northern Nigeria was for administrative convenience because the north was not viable economically. The idea of bundling through bills like North East/West Development Commission is fraud, hypocrisy and bigotry by President Muhammadu Buhari”.

This was contained in a statement on the website of the group, signed by it spokesperson Brig Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, stating, “President Muhammadu Buhari should think like a leader with the advantage of his age to see the genuine and legitimate agitation with the right attitude to pacify our people.

We have been raped for too long, General Muhammadu Buhari should face the reality of the Niger Delta question. He can stop listening to ideas and advice of the agitation as political system support structure that his tribal warlords and conflict merchants have hypnotized him to believe as the face of the Niger Delta struggle”.

The militia group stated further, “Niger Delta is part of Nigeria federation that he governs, since he is the president, he will always need the cooperation of our people to share or allocate our resources to other component units. The daylight robbery and allocation of proceeds of our natural resources must stop. When he was the chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), as general Sani Abacha henchman he exhibited this bigotry by focusing attention to his region, which he never pretend about by emphasizing 97% Versus 5% development and appointment structure that he has exhibited again in his fifth coming as national affairs.

He never pretend to be ethnic and religious bigot; the only things he pretends about are his roles in the underdevelopment of the Niger Delta and Nigeria in the over three decades he has being in government – 1976, 1978, 1983/4, 1993/98 and now”.

The Avengers accused Buhari of pretence over his deliberate politicization of the Niger Delta struggle by those tribesmen and conflict merchants he has abdicated the responsibilities of governing Nigeria to since, May 2015. He has forgotten that on his assumption of office, peace has been sustained in the region not through political party and structure support approach but the involvement of genuine stakeholders and the people of the region.

“That if Mr. President will come down from that his ethnic iron-horse, To engage in discussion with our people on October or any date he likes, the issues are not new. We want to control our resources and pay appropriate taxation to the central government that is fiscal federalism in practice and in principles.

The government, representatives of the Multinational Oil Corporations, neutral international observers and elders as well as stakeholders should guide themselves with the following documents: the Sir Henry Willinks Commission Report of 1958, The Ogoni Bill of Rights, The Kaiama Declaration document of the Ijaw Youth Council, The General Alexander Ogomudia Committee Report, The Niger Delta Technical Committee Report which contains the Pre- amnesty issues and agreement with the government of Nigeria in 2009.

Then, the framework can be drawn for achieving the short, medium and long term objectives toward the restoration of our land and reparation for the people that have been raped and colonized since 1914”.

It warned, “No amount of military action and surge will stop us from halting the flow of the oil from our land to sustain Nigeria. This is our land that we are the masters of its battlefields. We have warned earlier that we want the “Peace with honour, no more peace of our time”.

Any meeting with this government should be seen as driving a combustible vehicle laden with fire to safety; it must be driven with carefulness”.

Foreign Affairs / Donald Trump: There Will Be World War III If You Elect Hillary Clinton by sweetsandy4luv(f): 2:58pm On Oct 26, 2016
CNN)-
Donald Trump warned in an interview Tuesday that Hillary Clinton's policies as president to address the Syrian conflict would lead to World War III, arguing the Democratic nominee would draw the US into armed confrontation with Russia, Syria and Iran.

"What we should do is focus on ISIS. We should not be focusing on Syria," Trump told Reuters on Tuesday morning at his resort in Doral, Florida. "You're going to end up in World War III over Syria if we listen to Hillary Clinton."

The Republican nominee, who has called for a rapprochement with Russia in order to jointly combat ISIS, argued that his Democratic rival's calls for taking a more aggressive posture in Syria to bring the conflict there to an end and combat ISIS will only draw the US into a larger war. Trump's remarks come as he trails Clinton in most national and key battleground state polls just two weeks from Election Day.

"You're not fighting Syria anymore, you're fighting Syria, Russia and Iran, all right? Russia is a nuclear country, but a country where the nukes work as opposed to other countries that talk," he said.

Trump: I'd 'love' to fight Biden

Trump has not laid out a clear strategy for combating ISIS or addressing the globally destabilizing conflict in Syria, which has killed hundreds of thousands and pushed millions more to flee their homes. He has suggested the US should allow ISIS, anti-government rebels and the Syrian government to fight it out and more recently has focused on joining forces with Russia -- which has aided the Syrian regime in the bombing of civilians and US-allied rebels -- to combat ISIS.

"Assad is secondary, to me, to ISIS," Trump told Reuters of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whom US officials have argued must step down.

Clinton has called for establishing a no-fly zone over Syria to help bring the five-year civil war to an end, a proposal top Republicans in Congress have championed, which President Barack Obama and others have opposed due to the risk of entering into conflict with Russia. A US-enforced no-fly zone would mean the US could shoot down a Russian jet should it enter Syrian airspace.

Clinton addressed those concerns in the final presidential debate, arguing that it would "save lives and hasten the end of the conflict," while cautioning that "this would not be done just on the first day."

"This would take a lot of negotiation and it would also take making it clear to the Russians and the Syrians that our purpose is to provide safe zones on the ground," Clinton said during the debate earlier this month. "I think we could strike a deal and make it very clear to the Russians and Syrians that this was something that we believe the best interests of the people on the ground in Syria. It would help us in the fight against ISIS."

Trump has additionally called for establishing safe zones in Syria to protect civilians -- as has Clinton -- which could also put the US in conflict with the Syrian government or Russia should they oppose the policy.

The Clinton campaign later Tuesday pushed back against Trump's rhetoric.

"National security experts on both sides of the aisle have denounced Donald Trump as dangerously ill-prepared and temperamentally unfit to serve as commander-in-chief," Clinton spokesman Jesse Lehrich said. "Once again, he is parroting Putin's talking points and playing to Americans' fears, all while refusing to lay out any plans of his own for defeating ISIS or alleviating humanitarian suffering in Syria. Moreover, this incendiary attack is aimed at a policy that his own running mate, Mike Pence, strongly supports."

While Clinton has accused Trump of being Putin's "puppet," Trump knocked Clinton for her criticism of the Russian strongman, asking, "How she is going to go back and negotiate with this man who she has made to be so evil."

And just two days after he tied the successful enactment of his agenda as president to the election of Republican majorities in Congress, Trump also returned to his more typical complaints of a lack of Republican unity weighing down his candidacy.

"If we had party unity, we couldn't lose this election to Hillary Clinton," he told Reuters.

That complaint didn't put Trump in more of a bipartisan mood, though, as the Republican nominee also told Reuters he would not consider putting any Democrats in his cabinet -- a departure from recent presidents, who have sought to post at least one member of their rival party in a top administration post.

ANAMBRA 2017: Recession, Caution & Uncertainty Trail Candidates’ Desire To Openly Declare Their Intention To Contest The Governorship Election [ASPIRANTS IN PHOTOS]

Politicians and registered political parties in Anambra State are currently behaving as if the 2017 governorship election in the state will not hold going by their body language.

A year to the state’s governorship election, there seems to be functions of variables which has made interested aspirants in parties who want to occupy Chief Willie Obiano’s seat to soft-pedal, albeit momentarily.

Since the return to democratic rule in 1999, some three months to the election year in Anambra state are usually replete with activities.

It is the time political parties open their doors to aspirants who want to fly the flag of their parties as candidates in the election proper.

Besides, it is a period meetings are held from one location to the other in politicians’ houses and hotel halls. In these meetings, aspirants moot their ambitions in a bid to consult with their constituents.

You needed not be told that something was about to happen as posters of aspirants from different political parties adorn the nooks and crannies of the state.

But barely a year to the conduct of a governorship election in Anambra State, every aspirant seems to be in mum state.

The incumbent Governor of the state, Chief Willie Obiano was sworn-in on March 17, 2014. By March 17, 2017, he would have spent three years in office, and given the constitutionally allowed 90 days to the termination of his first term in office, it is expected that elections into the office of Governor of Anambra State would be conducted between the last quarter of November and second quarter of December 2017, to ensure that he is either sworn-in for a second term in office if he wins re-election or hands over to a successor on March 17, 2018.

But as it is now, Obiano who was elected on the Platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) appears to be the only aspirant of the 2017 governorship election in the state who is sure of his candidature. This is because even as he has not officially kicked off campaigns for a second term in office, his body language and activities in government since he clocked two years in March suggest that he had already coveted the APGA ticket to run for a second term in office.

These days, his foot soldiers mobilize all manner of associations including but not limited to the Transport Unions, Traditional Rulers, opinion and church leaders from different communities in the three senatorial zones of the state.

Just recently, the Governor in his response to the national economic recession abolished the payment of taxes and levies for certain categories of low income earners who push barrows, vegetable sellers, Okada riders and the like who hitherto were weighed down by the burden of heavy and multiple taxation.

The state commissioner for Information and Communication strategy, Mr. Tony Nnaecheta who gave a post analytical breakdown of the governor’s radio broadcast to the people of the state said that though the state government would be losing a whooping sum of N200m annually by taking this policy initiative aimed at cushioning the effects of recession, but that it didn’t bother.

The state government was quick to point out that the measure was temporary and though didn’t say when the grace period would elapse; its implication a few months to the election year was not lost on analysts who quickly said it was to woo the support of this social category prior to his ambition to be re-election.About fortnight ago, traditional rulers from the Old Aguata Union (OAU) comprising Aguata, Orumba North and South Local government areas gathered at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium in Aguata to bestow Chief Willie Obaino with the Chieftaincy title of “Aqunechemba” Aguata even as the Governor could not point at any project he had initiated and executed in the zone in the last 30 months.

All the same, the Traditional Rulers had during the ceremony allegedly packaged by an APGA Chieftain and Hotel proprietor in Ekwulobia, Aguata Council area of the state managed to tell him before an assemblage of opinion leaders from the area which included the second Republic vice-President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, a onetime Governor of the state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, town union presidents and the youths that all the roads in the old Aguata Union were impassable.

The Governor pledged to look into the matter after the rains. That in itself was not a promise.

Properties / Save Lagos Groups Lambasts Ambode Over Demolition Of ‘slums’ [must Read] by sweetsandy4luv(f): 3:53pm On Oct 25, 2016
A civil society organization, the Save Lagos Group in a press release made available to NEWSFLASHNGR, carpeted the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in Lagos State for inflicting pains on the masses living in the state.

Specifically, the Save Lagos Group faulted the decision of the Akinwunmi Ambode led government to clear structures in areas it considered as ‘slums’ across the state, saying the policy was not well thought through as it would further pauperized the poor citizens of the state.

This is coming just as the Save Lagos Group also punctured the rationale being canvassed by the state government for carrying out the demolition which it hinged on security as laughable, saying there are better ways to ensure security of the people of the state than the mass demolition of property of hapless citizens.

In a statement it issued on Tuesday, signed by the Converner, Comrade Adeniyi A. Sulaiman and the Director, Media and Strategy, Comrade Olaolu Oladipo, the Save Lagos Group stated that the state government has shirked its responsibility of catering for the wellbeing off the poor segments of the society via the action. To the Save Lagos Group, the state government ought to have provided alternative accommodation for those that are to be affected by the demolition, saying the failure to do so amounts to denying them their fundamental rights to decent living.

“We have taken time to study the concept of the programme being embarked upon by the state government to rid the state of criminal elements. This gesture we commend but we hasten to say that the modus operandi for carrying the policy out has left some much to be desired.

“Our opposition to the policy stems from the fact that while it is good for government to restore the aesthetic value and beauty of the state to its pristine value, care must be taken so as not to leave the vulnerable segments of the society out.” The statement reads in part.

Reacting to a statement credited to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Mr. Idowu Ajanaku who stated that the state government was not out to inflict pains on the people of the state, the Save Lagos Group added that the fact that some people of the state have staged a protest march to the seat of government means that the policy has failed.

Politics / Breaking: APC Spokesmen Ask Justices Okoro, Ngwuta To Resign Immediately by sweetsandy4luv(f): 2:02pm On Oct 25, 2016
Breaking: APC Spokesmen Ask Justices Okoro, Ngwuta To Resign Within The Next 120 Hours For Implicating Amaechi

We refer to the confessions of crime made by Hon Justice John Inyang Okoro, JSC and Hon Justice Sylvester Ngwuta JSC and call on both justices of Nigeria’s apex court to resign from office and service within the next.

Our considered call made with deepest sense of responsibility and after the broadest consultation is founded on the fact that both Justice Okoro and Justice Ngwuta confessed to have suppressed an alleged corruption advances from two ex-governors, serving as ministers in the federal government, contrary To clear provisions of the law.

While Justice Okoro claimed that he was approached by the former governor f Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Barr. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi to influence the outcome of the Appeal Court in the Akwa Ibom State gubernatorial Election Petition, Justice Ngwuta deposed to an affidavit claiming that both Amaechi and Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, tried to influence the outcome of Supreme Court cases in Rivers and Abia State respectively.

Our concern here is not whether the allegation by the senior judicial officials as contained in their respective letters to the National Judicial Council (NJC) are true of false, as the NJC and /or the Federal High Court will be in a position to establish that in trial, when the judges are expected to substantiate the allegations.

Of immediate concern to us is that both judges have confessed to committing of crimes if their allegations are true and would still have committed a crime, if they are false.

Section 23, Sub-sections 1, 2 and 3 of the Corrupt Practices an Other Related Acts, 2000 ion of persons Act states as follows:

Duty to Report Bribery Transactions :

23

Any Public officer to whom any gratification is given, promised or offered, in contravention of any provision of this act, shall report such gift, or offer together with the name, if known of the person who gave ,promised or offered such gratification to him, to the nearest officer of the Commission (ICPC) or Police officer.
Any person from whom gratification has been solicited or obtained or from whom an attempt has been made to collect such in contravention of any provision of the act, shall at the earliest opportunity thereafter report such soliciting, or obtaining ,or attempt to obtain the gratification together with the name, if known or a true and full description of the person who solicited or obtained, or attempted to obtain the gratification from him to the nearest officer of the commission or Police officer.
Any person who fails without reasonable excuse to comply with subsections (1) and (2) shall be guilty of an offence , and shall on conviction, be liable to a fine, not exceeding One hundred Thousand Naira ,or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or both fine and imprisonment

In the case of Justice Okoro, he claimed to have informed the Chief Justice of Nigera (CJN) only on February 1, 2016, nearly one year after the said advances were allegedly made. In the case of Justice Ngwuta no such report, according to his own confession was made at all until after his arrest by the Directorate of State security (DSS) and subsequent bail on self-recognition
These judges were by the letters of the cited law supposed to approach the Police or the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and lodge a report, which ,they failed to do.

Given the foregoing, both judges have admitted guilt and have indicted themselves to be guilty in line with Section 23 (1 and 3) of the cited act. And this is not within the bracket of responsibilities of the National Judicial Commission (NJC).

In making this call, we are fully conscious and well –advised on the legal principle that confession is superior to any other evidence.

This is without prejudice imposed by law on the two judges to prove their assertions as it affects the accused ministers in court, failing which the two judges would have fallen into the self-made trap of lying under oath and contravening the law of perjury, which is still criminal in nature and beyond the responsibilities of the NJC.

We are equally surprised that, particularly in the case of Justice Okoro, who claimed to have informed the CJN, albeit one year later, the office of the CJN did not advise or remind the former on what steps to take in the light of the subsisting law, so cited ,but rather sat on the complaint if true. Hence the only reason why we would not call on the CJN to resign is because he has two weeks to retire from the bench, from office and from service.

Our considered call must be sharply distinguished from well-intended request by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for the judges to stand aside as a confidence boosting measure, curiously opposed by the NJC. Whereas NBA’s request is founded on temporary withdrawal of service, as was done in the case of Justice Ayo Salami, JCA, former President of the Court of Appeal, pending the consideration of the allegations in the NJC and in court, ours is a call for resignation based on respective self-indictments evident in the respective statements of the two senior judges.

.

We call on all well-meaning Nigerians, to take timely steps to get these two otherwise honourable justices, who have brought odium to the judiciary to grant the institution a reprieve from the shadows of corruption.

Celebrities / The Government Owes Us An Explanation To The Leaked S*x Tape By Aisha Edward by sweetsandy4luv(f): 12:52pm On Oct 25, 2016
The truth must be unraveled.

Women activists must rise up now.

The people of Anambra state are not really taking the leaked s*x tape of miss Anambra 2015 Chidima Okeke lightly… Read the full article and have your say…

My attention has been drawn to a disturbing video of a particular pageant queen that is gradually spreading across the internet. The said video which puts Anambra state in a bad light should vehemently be condemned as opposed to the sympathetic empathy it was generating in some quarters.

I, as a moral crusader and leader of Persons leaving with sickle cell disorder heavily frown at the rate of the oral decadence in our society, and how people out of friendship and other affiliations stand to defend evil using all manner of tactics and media strategies.

It was quite appalling and grossly dehumanizing that people instead of condemning the act portrayed in the video, took to their walls to defend and stand with the culprits, possibly because they share some friendship status or are even paid to do so.

The video did not just portray a leaked pri!vate scene, but in all entirety portrayed a crime scene, as the crime shown in the video does not only violates the morals of nature, but also the laws of the federal republic of Nigeria, and has a punishment to the offence. As much as I do not propose for further punishment of the victims, as the disgrace and stigma of the leaked video is already a strong punishment enough the rid them off the illicit behaviours, I, however posit that the act be condemned and necessary rehabilitation offered to the victims, and not the inhumane sympathy being meted on them.

I also read an article credited to one of the girls, where she disclaimed of being in the video, but rather blamed her conspicuous presence on photoshop, and promises to sue the producers of the video.

It is just highly laughable that the least of damage control strategy she could think of or was advised to do is to deny a bare fact, as one may wonder what version of the photoshop software can perfectly manipulate such visuals we saw on the internet. Her denial even calls for more questioning, since she believes she is being blackmailed, I urge her to take the case to court or relevant authorities, to fish out the perpetrators of such act, and if she can’t take the case of blackmail to court as she mentioned in her press release, we, moral crusaders who feel traumatized by the incident would take up the challenge to find the truth and bring the facts to the court of law.

Of course, if she believes she is being blackmailed she should present her evidences in court and prove her innocence.

This leaked video is not only a slap to women in the country, but a sheer disgrace to mothers who were totally shocked to find such videos on the internet. It is quite disheartening that such video would be coming when the women folks are struggling hard to be emancipated from the claws of men, because it makes one wonder the essence of the struggle if this is what the society would benefit even from the high placed individuals, as Pageant queens.

However, as a government parastatal and office that is rested with such functions of overseeing women activities in the state, one is confused as to why the State Ministry of Women Affairs have not issued any statement regarding the disturbing video.

Does their silence have anything to do with the fact that they do not know what to say or don’t understand their work, or does it justify the rumours being peddled in some quarters that the pageant business have thrived in the state through the mortgaging of the girls to wanton politicians, and all these happening under the watch of the Ministry.

One would expect that by now, an official statement and possible investigation would have been issued and opened on the incident to verify the level of damage and to find out if actually there is truth in the claims of the girl who is not just a pageant queen but “Miss Anambra”.

We, at Centre for Moral Mentorship advise the State Government to issue an official statement regarding the incident through the right channels within 48 hours, and in the case of their failure to heed to the candid advice, we shall have no other reason to not challenge them in Court and start a loud campaign against the perpetuated act, as the office which was desecrated fully represents Anambra State and we can’t let the state be dragged in the mud just like that.

However, I advise all media handlers to desist from the hypocritical act of supporting evil under the pretence that all men are evil, if actually we support Miss Anambra for being in the tape because we all have bad sides then there would not be any need to have prisons, as there would be no need to convict criminals since we all have atom of crimes in us.

Amaechi Threatens Buhari Yet Again, Mr. President If Am Going Down – You’re Coming With Me

These are not the best of times for the Minister of Transportation. The house of the presidency appears struck on a path to self implosion as reliable information available through sources within the presidency indicate the President had ordered for a comprehensive investigation into the allegations leveled on the Transport Minister by numerous Justices of the Federation. And in turn, the Transport Minister is said to have threatened retaliation by exposing the President’s dirty deals over the alleged bribery allegation.

Following what appeared as serialized exposure by the Justices of the federation of the involvement of Rotimi Amaechi in the attempt to subvert the judicial process, the President of the federation, General Mohammadu Buhari fell under the immense pressure from the international community to investigate the validity in the claims leveled by the Justices. To this end, the President instructed for a probe be launched into the activities as alleged by the Judges. The Judges had alleged that Amaechi attempted to bribe them in more than one occasion.Information available to us reliably confirms a probe into the claims of the Judges were launched based on the instructions of Mr. President. All of the bank accounts known to belong to Amaechi, according to our source, have been placed under watch – and the historical activity on the account sequestered.

In retaliation, the former Governor of Rivers State and the present Minister of Transport – Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has chosen to go the route of blackmail. He is said to have opted to expose all involved parties in the said attempted bribery of the justices. “Amaechi has documentary evidence that shows Buhari was in-the-know about the attempt to bribe the Judges and how many of the campaign funds were raised.”

“Amaechi has assembled the documents and has sent over to Saharareporters, with whom he has a working financial relationship to publish the documents“, stated our source who explained that Amaechi had used his relationship with Saharareporters to push the All Progressive Congress [APC] change mantra. “The relationship is still existing”.

it is 10 years imprisonment, according to the 2014 Anti G.a.y law.

…why is ABS Awka Silent?

On 13 January 2014, president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan signed into law the Same-S*x Marriage Prohibition Act, which parliament passed in May 2013. The law follows a similar one passed in Uganda in December 2013, which imposes life imprisonment for some types of homos*xual acts.

It is also a crime to have a meeting of homos*xuals, or to operate or attend a gay club, society or organization. Public show of same-s*x intimate affection is also outlawed. Offenders may be jailed for up to 10 years.

A section of the law states, “Any person who registers, operates or participates in g@y clubs, societies and organisations or directly or indirectly makes public show of same-s*x amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offence and shall each be liable on conviction to a term of 10 years in prison.”

In the last few days, a l!esbian s*x tape involving Miss Anambra 2015, Chidinma Okeke surfaced online. The le!sbian s*x tape depicts a society in decay. It depicts high immorality and what these young girls do in the universities instead of facing their studies.

Politics / Bribery Allegation: APC Goes Spiritual For Amaechi [Mus Read] by sweetsandy4luv(f): 12:52pm On Oct 24, 2016
Bribery Allegation: APC Goes Spiritual For Amaechi, Says God Will Surely Vindicate Him

….Berates PDP for calling for Minister’s resignation

…Describes such a call as vindictive, laughable, mischievous and shameless

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has risen in stout defence of the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, dismissing calls for his resignation led by the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following allegations by some recently arrested Judges that he tried to influence their rulings on some election petition cases.

Rivers APC in a statement issued on Monday in Port Harcourt and signed by the State APC Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, insisted that Amaechi is clean and not guilty as charged. “We are convinced that God, who has always fought for Amaechi, will continue to save and strengthen him and will once again vindicate him,” the party said.

It lambasted both Rivers PDP, the National PDP and others who have joined in calling on Amaechi to resign and for his probe based on the allegations of attempted bribery levelled by some sponsored and drowning judges who were looking for a tool to stay afloat as not only vindictive, shameless, laughable, mischievous but exposure of a clique that is so desperate to expose and express their ignorance and evil plots against a man whom they see as the arrowhead that dislodged them from power at the centre.

“These calls being championed by the PDP are just the latest manifestation of the party’s frustration and fight against Amaechi in retaliation for his role in dislodging the PDP Government at the centre during the 2015 presidential elections.

These useless calls based on the unfounded and baseless attempted bribery allegations against the former Rivers State Governor and Minister of Transportation confirms our fears and stand that the two discredited Justices made these allegations as part of a political strategy to destroy APC and run down the political fortunes of this rising star.

PDP is only acting out its frustration over the key role that Amaechi played to end the corruption system engineered by the past PDP administration at the centre but let us assure the public that this plot has already failed before it was hatched because no sound Nigerian will buy this lame allegation that have no logical stand,” Rivers APC said.

Politics / ONDO 2016: Ijaws People Reject Jegede’s Deputy, Back Akeredolu by sweetsandy4luv(f): 4:56pm On Oct 23, 2016
With just a few weeks to the November 26 governorship election in Ondo state, a mass defection of PDP followers in Ese-Odo Local Government Area is imminent as political leaders from the Ijaw speaking area of the state have rejected the choice ‎of Hon John Ola Mafo as deputy governorship candidate.

Ese-Odo Local Government Area is a PDP stronghold and had accounted for over sixty percent of votes the party garnered in the 2015 general election in Ondo state.

But ‎the looming defection is coming on the heels of the nomination of Mafo, a former commissioner for sports in the state as running mate to the factional candidate of the PDP, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN.

A PDP leader from Ese-Odo, Hon Sunday Tundigha, in a statement issued in Akure the Ondo state capital on behalf of Aggrieved Ese-Odo PDP Leaders’ Forum, faulted the emergence of Mafo, saying it ”defied all known logics and political justice”.

”Our local government is the only Ijaw speaking local government and had delivered over thousand votes for the PDP in the last presidential and National Assembly elections with over ninety percent.

”We were however, surprised that the leadership of the party decided to turn logic on its by giving the deputy governorship slot to a local government without any voting value for the PDP. This is more so that‎ AD’s Olusola Oke is from the same local government. This defies logic and every known political justice.

”We are therefore giving Governor Olusegun Mimiko and the leadership of the PDP forty eight hours from now,to withdraw Mafo and replace him with an indigene of Ese-Odo. Any thing short of this will result to mass defection from the party. It is sad that an individual from Ese-Odo could sell out this golden opportunity for our people just because of his future political ambitions. We will resist this selfish and short-sighted political calculation.
According to h‎im, the aggrieved leaders of the PDP have resolved to work for the success of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) , Chief Rotimi Akeredolu.

”Between now and the expiration of the ultimatum, we have put all our supporters on notice to mobilize for Chief Rotimi Akeredolu of the APC. This is because his running mate, Hon Agboola Ajayi, the Ambassadorial nominee, Barrister Sola Iji as well as the Senior Technical Adviser to the Minister of state for agriculture, Mr Donald Ojogo are distinguished sons of our local government”, he said in the statement.

One of the deputy governorship hopefuls from the local government prior Mafo’s emergence, Chief Pere Ganfo has also warned that the PDP might face dire electoral consequences over the decision it took against Ese-Odo.

”Honestly, since the announcement of Mafo, I have received several complaints from our people who feel short changed, used and dumped. They are unhappy because the party did not deem it needful to consider our current electoral value to the PDP.

It means we are not needed in the party. ‎But as a party man,‎ I have been trying to assuage their feelings trying to calm them but I doubt if I will continue to have such capacity to do that, and you know what that means”, Ganfo said.

Politics / Judiciary Wing Of The Wailers Go For Amaechi’s Jugular - APC by sweetsandy4luv(f): 8:12am On Oct 22, 2016
“He that studieth revenge keepeth his own wounds green, which otherwise would heal and do well.” – John Milton (1608 – 1674)

By Chris Finebone

As soon as the Department of State Services (DSS), in obedience to relevant laws of the land relating to arrest and detention, released arrested Justices on personal recognition within 24 hours of arrest, a certain mixed feelings enveloped yours truly. Over time, the mixed feelings quickly transmuted into a cross breed of fear and eeriness.

The reason for what looked like my needless worry was because going by the peculiar tendencies of our countrymen to convolute the air especially when caught in the act of doing evil; I very well knew that corruption will fight back with an uncommon ferocity never known before.

After all, the bursting of judicial corruption in Nigeria was unheard of, and probably thought of as impossible, before now. Indeed, my major concern was that those arrested and released so swiftly would have sufficient time and company of evil associates who will present to them pages and options of scripts taken from their ignoble book of mischief on how to fight back.

They will also provide legal assistance and deep purses to take the fight to President Muhammadu Buhari and his government.

It only took a few hours before one of the embattled Judges, Justice Adeniyi Ademola dispatched a letter into the media space in which he strenuously blamed the Attorney-General of the Federation [AGF] and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami for his woes.

According to the judge, “A DSS official finally informed me that my arrest was based on these three allegations; petition of Hon. Jenkins Duvie dated 4th of April 2016 to the National Judicial Council (NJC); granting bail to Col. Sambo Dasuki and the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu; and using my office to secure my wife’s appointment as the head of civil service, through Senator Bola Tinubu.”

Ademola said he saw his arrest as revenge from Abubakar Malami, whose arrest and detention he ordered over a professional misconduct while he was judge in Kano between 2004 and 2008. Indeed, story for the gods!

In his hurry to concoct an alibi, Justice Ademola conveniently forgot to expatiate on the petitions he acknowledged were written against him but rather dwelled copiously but disingenuously on the red herring he created around the AGF. The reasons for dragging in the national leader of the APC, Alhaji Ahmed Bola Tinubu and AGF Malami are many.

He wanted the sympathy of BAT and his followers and in Malami, Justice Ademola found a fitting personality right in the heart of the Buhari government who he can use to blackmail the President and his government. Is there a better way for corruption to fight back than this?

Just as Nigerians were conditioning themselves to the emerging melodrama by Justice Adeniyi Ademola, another embattled judge of the Supreme Court, Justice John Inyang Okoro and his collaborators in Akwa Ibom and Rivers State were concluding a different episode in what has now become the grand epic movie in which the central theme is the get-him-at-all-cost quest for Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation in the Buhari government. In a self-deprecating letter to the CJN and widely circulated in the media, Justice John Okoro rambled, huffed and puffed about how Amaechi approached him to pervert justice in the 2015 governorship election matters of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Abia States.

He claimed to have mentioned the matter to the CJN at the time but never bothered to follow the prescription of the law in such a circumstance which required him to put it in black and white to his boss and also report to security agencies.

In his hurry to manufacture lies, a supposed experienced Supreme Court judge conveniently forgot the provisions of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission Act 2000; 23(1) which says:

“Any public officer to whom any gratification is given, promised, or offered, in contravention of any provision of this Act, shall report such gift, promised or offer together with the name, if known, of the person who gave, promised or offered such gratification to him to the nearest officer of the commission or police officer.”

Not a few Nigerians have raised questions about the highly mendacious and self-incriminating letter by Justice John Okoro. What will be the basis for Amaechi to approach Justice Okoro to pervert justice in the Akwa Ibom governorship matter when he could not have been enlisted on the panel as an indigene of Akwa Ibom State?

What really is the nexus between his wild allegations and what the DSS has accused him of? As men of the law, why is it that neither Justice Okoro nor the CJN followed the provisions of the law if an attempt was made to bribe a Supreme Court judge?

Following on the heels of Justice John Inyang Okoro’s spurious allegations, came yet another letter by another Supreme Court judge, Justice Nwali Sylvester Ungwuta. Again, Ungwuta took refuge under the name of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who he shamelessly concocted white lies against, claiming the Minister attempted to bribe him to pervert justice in electoral matters.

Ungwuta also dragged in Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu to further confer the toga of credibility on the plot by the shamed judges to square up with the PMB government and possibly halt the war against corruption as it relates to the judiciary.

Today, what has become very apparent is that there were several well organised rehearsals by these embattled and alleged bad eggs in the judiciary to hit back at the very heart beat of the Buhari administration as corruption fights back.

We know that the idea is that the easiest way to hit at the very heart of a strongman is to harm his favourite offspring. Same persons who are hell bent on humiliating the PMB government continue to explore from their mischief box. They started with avenging the defeat of their man, which seems to be failing. Now, they have turned on Amaechi and that will also fail.

It is also worthy of note that all those who have been rueing their loss of the 2015 Presidential election have quickly regrouped to exact their pound of flesh from the very undisputed game changer and driver of the PMB victory which ensured the effective consignment of their Man Friday, the Otuoke man, to the backwaters of history. And that man is Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi CON.

The flurry of activities in Government House Port Harcourt has since heightened. We have heard plots to air CCTV footages. But all those insidious plans cannot be more than the previous plots. They failed then, they will fail now.

Those evil iron-cast conspiracies will all lie in ruins. It is a matter of time. For them, Amaechi has become the proverbial alligator pepper that must be ever present in every brew by traditional medicine men.

Politics / Save Nigerians From Hunger, Sufferings, EFCC Probe Won’t Distract Me, Fayose Tel by sweetsandy4luv(f): 6:48am On Oct 19, 2016
Save Nigerians from hunger, sufferings, EFCC probe won’t distract me,
Fayose tells FG

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has told the Federal
Government to pay attention to hunger and suffering ravaging Nigeria
and its people and leave him alone, saying; “This project ‘Fayose must
be implicated at all cost’ will definitely not put food on the tables
of Nigerians and for all I care, the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC) and its collaborators can keep running from pillar
to post while I keep delivering good governance to Ekiti and its
people.”

The governor, who dismissed the reported claim that former Minister of
State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro confessed to the EFCC
that he received fund from the Office of the National Security Adviser
(ONSA) under Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) to fund his election, said; “We
have gone pass this stage of media trial, EFCC should rather keep its
gun powder dry, when we get to the bridge, we will cross it. They said
more than this in the 2006 poultry scam blackmail, despite that, I am
the governor today.”

According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Public
Communications and New Media Lere Olayinka and made available to NEWSFLASHNGR.COM, Governor Fayose said he was only reacting just to fulfil all righteousness because Nigerians
are more interested in having food on their tables, adding that;
“those who arranged the dramatic and compromised return of Senator
Obanikoro to Nigeria obviously did so in continuation of their project
‘Fayose must be implicated at all cost’ but I am not bothered because
my election was legitimately funded.

“However, if this is why they are intimidating judges and the
judiciary, it won’t work as far as my own matter is concerned as no
one can play God.

“As far as I am concerned, I am busy here in Ekiti attending to the
welfare and well-being of my people. I won’t be distracted.”

While challenging the EFCC to also beam its searchlights on the
funding of APC elections, Governor Fayose said; “Since we are now in
the era in which financial assistance from Nigerians to fund elections
is being criminalised, the international community, especially those
funding EFCC must insist that the commission probes the funding of APC
elections before further funds are released to the commission.”
