Two police officers have been confirmed dead after gunmen attacked the convoy of the Anambra State Chief of Staff along the Amansea–Ufuma road near Awka on Sunday night. According to reports, the convoy was passing through the area when it came under attack. Security personnel attached to the convoy reportedly engaged the attackers in a gun battle that lasted for some time. Sadly, two police officers lost their lives during the exchange. The incident has once again brought attention to the security challenges facing parts of the South-East. Over the past few years, there have been several attacks on security personnel, government facilities and residents in different communities across the region. As of the time of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and authorities have not released further details on the identity of the gunmen. Many Nigerians reacting online expressed concern over the continued loss of lives, while others questioned what more can be done to improve security in the region. Incidents like this have become a major source of worry for residents, travelers and business owners who depend on peace and stability to carry out their daily activities. What do you think is the solution to the security challenges in the South-East? Should the government focus more on intelligence gathering, community policing, dialogue, or stronger security operations? An American man named Jeffrey Guterman just sent a letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio talking about Nigeria's upcoming 2027 elections. which he also shared on X In the letter, he said Peter Obi is clearly the best candidate to lead Nigeria, but he believes Obi is "destined to lose" to Tinubu's administration unless the entire voting system gets reformed. He's not happy about how Nigerian masses are suffering under Tinubu's watch, and he's asking the White House to use diplomacy to help push for free and fair elections in Nigeria. Nigerians Are Reacting Peter Obi supporters are excited. "Finally, someone abroad is seeing what we're going through. Maybe foreign pressure will force INEC to behave." APC supporters are vexing. "Who is this American man to tell us who should lead our country? We don't need the US interfering in our elections." Skeptics are calm. "America only intervenes when it benefits them. Don't get your hopes up." The Big Question Will the US actually respond? Will Marco Rubio or the White House do anything about it? And more importantly—should the US even get involved in Nigeria's 2027 elections, or should we handle our own problems ourselves? What do you think? Do you agree that Peter Obi is the best candidate but will lose unless the system changes? Should we welcome foreign pressure for electoral reform, or is that opening the door for interference? The President made this statement during a national address, assuring citizens that his government is fully committed to ending terrorism and insecurity. But here's the problem — people are asking where exactly this defeat is happening. Because last we checked, Borno is still under attack. Zamfara communities are still being raided. Kaduna residents still can't sleep with two eyes closed. And the South-East? That's another conversation entirely. So when Tinubu promises to defeat evil forces, Nigerians want to know: which evil forces exactly? Because the ones we know are still very much active. Since Tinubu promises to defeat evil forces started trending, the reactions have been wild. Some people are still saying make everybody calm down first. “Na just few years ago him enter office… make we give am small time.” But others? They're done waiting because this govt. have no time to stay in office again. "How many presidents have promised us this same thing? We're tired of talk. Show us action." One person even said, "Tinubu promises to defeat evil forces meanwhile these forces are collecting ransom every weekend on our highways." They've have almost conquered the south west You can feel the frustration everywhere. Let's be very honest here — what exactly has improved since this administration took over? Yes, there have been military operations. Yes, some arrests here and there. But the core issue? Still very much alive (terrorism). Farmers can't access their farms in several states. Travelers are still scared of major highways. Kidnappings are happening almost weekly. Schools? Still getting raided. Kids are literally being snatched from classrooms. When Tinubu promises to defeat evil forces, we want to actually feel safer in our own country, not just read about it online. Not just press statements. Not just military parades. Actual safety. Actual results. Some Nigerians still believe in the administration. They say these things take time and the problems didn't start yesterday. But many others have run out of patience. They're saying enough talk, we need to see something tangible. So let's hear from you— Do you think Tinubu don really try for this terrorism matter?… Drop your honest take below. A Nigerian lady has triggered a wave of reactions online after sharing her experience with a sudden rent hike that left her with little choice but to move out. According to her, the landlord added ₦650k on top of what she was already paying — taking it straight to ₦1.3 million. Honestly, that kind increase can throw anybody off balance. Nigerian Rent Increase: What Happened in Her Case According to her, she wasn’t comfortable with the new amount at all, so she refused. But that didn’t end there. She said the landlord went ahead to issue her a quit notice after she refused the increase. Just like that, she found herself searching for a new place — something that isn’t exactly easy these days. Nigerian Rent Increase: Why People Are Reacting As her story spread, people quickly began to weigh in. Some Nigerians say they’re not surprised at all. For them, this is already becoming normal — landlords increasing rent almost overnight, especially in major cities. Others, however, feel there should be some level of control. They argue that increases like this, without warning or structure, put tenants under serious pressure. One comment online captured the mood: “₦650k increase just like that? How is someone supposed to adjust to that?” But there are also those who see it differently. A few people pointed out that landlords are also dealing with rising costs — from building materials to maintenance — and may be adjusting rent to keep up. Still, for many tenants, that explanation doesn’t make the situation any easier. Because the reality on ground is simple — Rent in Nigeria is becoming something else entirely. And for a lot of people, it’s no longer just about finding a house… it’s about finding something they can actually afford to keep. That’s where the real tension is. Some believe the market should regulate itself. Others feel something has to give before things get worse. And truth be told, stories like this are not even rare anymore — people are starting to notice. So if you were in her position… Would you try to negotiate, accept the increase, or just move on? A baby born far too early is now at the center of a story many people are struggling to wrap their heads around. From what has been gathered, the child arrived at just 23 weeks — weighing roughly one pound. That’s extremely small, even by medical standards. At that stage, nothing is certain. Doctors usually say it’s a critical window where survival is never guaranteed, and every hour matters. Still, stories like this tend to draw attention for a reason. For many people, it’s a reminder of how delicate life really is. Not something you read and just scroll past. And then there’s the other side — the strength it takes. Not just from the baby, but from the mother and the medical team trying to keep things stable. Health experts have said over time that babies born this early often face serious hurdles — breathing support, slow development, constant monitoring. It’s rarely a smooth journey. Even with everything, some people are calling it a miracle. Others are just saying… this is what good medical care can do now. One comment that stood out online simply said: “Something that small… still fighting to stay alive.” But beyond the emotions, the conversation is starting to shift. Some are asking questions that go beyond this single case. What happens in places where this level of care isn’t available? How many families don’t even get this kind of chance? Because truth is… not all stories like this end well. That’s why it’s hitting people the way it is. For some, it just makes them pause and be thankful for life. For others, it brings attention to the gaps in healthcare that many people deal with quietly. Either way, it leaves a lot to think about. It’s not even just about this baby anymore… it just makes you think about how easily things can go wrong, and how many things have to line up for something like this to even happen. So honestly — when you hear this kind of story, what comes to your mind first? Source: https://www.newsflashngr.com/video-of-baby-born-at-23-weeks-weighing-just/

Woman gives birth to a premature baby at 23 weeks weighing just one pound. pic.twitter.com/qNGb0HnR7M
— Linda Ikeji Blog (@lindaikeji) <a href=" 26, 2026

That comment from the Tinubu government, shared through Bayo Onanuga, has been getting people talking. At its core, the argument is straightforward — when you line Nigeria up against countries like Egypt, South Africa, and Senegal, the country hasn’t borrowed as much. So, in their view, there’s still room to take on more debt. But that comparison hasn’t sat well with everyone. Some Nigerians see the point. They say borrowing, on its own, isn’t the real issue. If the money is used properly — roads, power, jobs — then it can make a difference. That’s how other countries grow, they argue. Others are looking at it differently. For them, it’s not about how much is being borrowed on paper — it’s about what people are actually going through every single day. They’re asking simple questions: If things are working, why are people still struggling with electricity? Why does food keep getting more expensive? Why does insecurity still feel close to home for many? One comment that has been circulating online sums up that frustration: “They’ll compare debt numbers, but won’t compare how citizens are living.” That feeling didn’t just start today. With the cost of living where it is now, conversations about borrowing tend to hit a nerve. For some, it sounds like more pressure in a system that is already stretched. For others, it’s just part of how governments everywhere manage their economies. That’s really where the divide is. On one side, people believe Nigeria needs more funding to move forward. On the other, there’s a growing feeling that whatever is already available should start reflecting in everyday life first. Either way, the reactions show one thing clearly — People are paying attention. And more than before, they’re asking questions. So the question many are quietly asking now is this: Should Nigeria keep borrowing… or focus on making what’s already there work better? [quote author=sweetsandy4luv post=139522081]A lot of people remember “One in a Million” like it just came out and blew up overnight. But according to Achievas Entertainment boss Ossy Achievas, it didn’t happen like that at all. In fact, there was a time it almost didn’t click. Back then, around 2007 to 2009, Solidstar had already recorded plenty songs. He was working, consistent, and the talent was obvious. But something just wasn’t landing the way it should. Ossy said it himself — the voice was there, the effort was there… but that one special spark was missing. So one day, he called him and said something simple but very specific: “Forget fast songs for now. Give me something different… a proper love song.” That was the turning point. Solidstar went back, worked on it, and came back with something new. Something calmer, more emotional. That was the early version of what would later become “One in a Million.” Then something unexpected happened. They found themselves at Comfort Suites in Festac, and by chance, legendary producer OJB Jezreel was there working with 2Baba. Ossy didn’t waste the moment — he introduced Solidstar and pushed for a session. When they finally met again, OJB asked to hear the song. Solidstar sang it. And almost immediately, OJB got it. Within less than an hour — not even up to 40 minutes — the beat was ready, vocals were laid, and the foundation of the song was done. Just like that. But even after that, there was still one more key moment. OJB told Ossy something that would later change everything: “If you can get 2Baba on this… it will be massive.” That advice stuck. Ossy took the song to 2Baba, and surprisingly, it didn’t take long. He connected with it almost instantly. By the time he traveled for his anniversary event in Abuja, he already knew the song well and had ideas for it. That same Abuja trip became Solidstar’s first major stage appearance — the kind of moment every artist waits for. From there, things started falling into place. Then came the video. When Clarence Peters heard the song, he had a big vision — something that required serious money. Traveling to Erin Ijesha Waterfalls, involving top creatives… it wasn’t cheap at all. At that point, it was a real risk. But they went ahead anyway. Looking back now, it’s easy to say it worked out. The song became a hit. People connected with it. It became part of the sound of that era. But even now, people still see it differently. Some believe bringing 2Baba into the song was the real game changer. Broadcaster Rufai Oseni has stirred fresh conversation online after reacting to the APC’s just-concluded primary election, and a lot of Nigerians have something to say about it. Rufai, while speaking on the outcome of the primary, said he doesn’t see the exercise as a real election. According to him, what happened should not be used as a picture of what Nigerians should expect in 2027. His words: “Do you think this APC just concluded primary is actually an election? It’s a skit.” He didn’t stop there. Rufai went on to say that the figures being mentioned from the primary could create the wrong impression ahead of the next general election if Nigerians are not careful. According to him, if people are already being told that President Bola Tinubu can pull 10 or 11 million votes in a party primary, then it becomes easy for that same narrative to carry into the 2027 election. In his words: “That’s a bad narrative and a pretext for rigging.” Not surprisingly, the comment has generated serious reactions online. Some Nigerians agree with him. They believe the numbers from the primary deserve to be questioned and openly discussed. For many of those reacting online, Rufai only said what others were already thinking privately. Others, however, don’t see it that way. Supporters of the APC argue that party primaries are internal party affairs and completely different from a nationwide election. Some say comparing the two doesn’t make sense because only party delegates are involved in primaries, not the general voting public. Still, the debate hasn’t slowed down. Across Facebook, X and comment sections on news platforms, Nigerians are sharing different opinions. While some praised Rufai for speaking openly, others accused him of reading too much into the primary result. Source: https://www.newsflashngr.com/rufai-oseni-speaks-on-apc-primary-elections/

There’s been some attention around Peter Obi after he shared details of a meeting he had in Cape Town before heading to Johannesburg. He said he met with two former African leaders — Ian Khama and Thabo Mbeki — and from what he explained, it wasn’t just a casual visit. From the way he said it, it didn’t even sound like anything too formal… more like he just used that moment to acknowledge them. Especially for how they’ve been talking about those immigration issues that keep popping up across different African countries. He also brought up the whole unity thing — how they’re still pushing for it. That whole unity talk… you hear it everywhere. But when you actually look at how things are playing out, it’s a different story. And funny enough, that small part… that’s what people are really picking out from everything he said. Issues around immigration and how Africans treat each other in different countries have been coming up more often lately, so seeing names like Khama and Mbeki still speaking on it — and being engaged — is something some people see as important. Obi also mentioned that both men still carry a lot of weight across the continent, even after leaving office. And to be fair, that’s something many would agree with. During the same trip, he also linked up with Kayode Fayemi at the Thabo Mbeki Africa Day lecture. Fayemi delivered a keynote there, talking about rebuilding unity and strengthening institutions across Africa — the kind of conversation that keeps coming up these days. Since he shared it, reactions have been mixed. Some people see it as a good sign — that he’s keeping those connections and staying involved in bigger African conversations beyond Nigeria. Others are not really moved by it. For them, meetings like this are fine, but what matters more is what comes out of it in real terms. At the end of the day, it’s one of those updates people will interpret differently. Some see value in the engagement itself, others are waiting to see if it leads to anything concrete. For now, it’s just another moment that has people talking — depending on how they choose to look at it. Source: https://www.newsflashngr.com/just-in-peter-obi-cape-town-meeting-meets/

Phyna Financial Struggles have sparked reactions online as the BBNaija winner reveals how she spent money carelessly after fame and now faces the consequences. BBNaija winner Phyna has got Nigerians talking again — but this time, it’s not about the show or any controversy. It’s about money… and how fast it can go. After leaving the Big Brother house, Phyna said things didn’t go the way many people think. She admitted nobody really sat her down or showed her what to do with the money she made. She said she was just spending, helping people, and saying yes to almost everyone. “Nobody advised me to invest after winning BBNaija… I was sharing money like a mumu,” she said. From how she explained it, the pressure was real. Requests were coming from all sides, and at the time, it felt normal to keep giving. But things didn’t stay that way. She revealed that the moment she started setting boundaries and saying no, things changed for her. “The day I started saying no was when my problems started. Now money has finished,” she added. That part hit a lot of people. Some Nigerians say they understand exactly what she’s talking about. According to them, when money comes suddenly — especially in Nigeria — the expectation to help family and others can be overwhelming. One person wrote online, “If you’ve never been in that position, you won’t understand the pressure.” Phyna Financial Struggles Trigger Mixed Reactions Online Others, however, are not convinced. They believe that with that level of opportunity, she should have planned better. For them, managing money is just as important as making it, especially for public figures. But beyond the back and forth, her story is touching on something bigger. A lot of people are seeing it as a reminder. Not just about fame, but about money itself. Because whether it’s millions from a reality show or small income from daily hustle, the same truth applies — if there’s no plan, it can finish. Social media reactions have been mixed, as expected. Some are advising, some are criticizing, and some are simply watching and learning. At the end of the day, Phyna’s experience has gone beyond celebrity gist. It’s now one of those stories people are using to reflect on real-life decisions. And depending on who you ask, it’s either a hard lesson… or a very familiar reality. Inibehe Effiong Questions Nigerians over Tinubu style of leadership, spark serious reactions online as the human rights lawyer says those still supporting President Bola Tinubu despite rising hardship, insecurity, and economic challenges are the real problem. Barrister Inibehe Effiong is trending online again after calling out Nigerians who still defend President Bola Tinubu even with the current hardship in the country. The lawyer made the comments in a post that quickly started making rounds on X and Facebook. According to him, the painful part of Nigeria’s politics is that everybody suffers whenever leadership fails, including the same people defending the government every day online. “When kidnappers invade communities and schools, they do not separate Tinubu/APC supporters from those who are against the regime,” he wrote. He also questioned why many Nigerians still support the government even with the complaints about insecurity, hunger, and the economy. People don’t really see Inibehe as somebody that waits for permission before speaking. Back during the EndSARS protests, his name was always flying around online because he kept speaking on what protesters were facing and criticizing how the government handled the situation. That period was really when many Nigerians started noticing him more. Since then, he has stayed active online, especially anytime politics starts causing arguments on social media. A big reason people are reacting to what he said is because many Nigerians are already angry and exhausted about the situation of things in the country. Prices of food have gone up badly, transport money is stressing people daily, and insecurity is still something many families complain about almost every day. That is why some people agreed with him immediately. Some users online said Nigerians are simply tired and angry about the situation of things. Others said the hardship in the country has become too obvious for anybody to ignore. Still, not everybody agreed with him. Some people felt he was talking like the government has completely failed already, while others said Tinubu has not even spent enough time in office yet for people to write him off like that. Inibehe Effiong Questions There were also Nigerians who felt the whole political space online has become too toxic lately because both supporters and critics insult each other almost every day. But the post kept spreading anyway because the issues he mentioned are things many Nigerians already complain about daily — hardship, insecurity, and the general frustration people feel about the country right now. For now, reactions remain divided. While some Nigerians praised Inibehe for saying what many people are thinking, others believe constant criticism without solutions will not change anything. Jim Iyke has opened up about his failed relationship, and honestly, a lot of people didn’t expect him to be this open about it. The Nollywood actor admitted that there was a time he completely changed emotionally, and according to him, the person who suffered most was the woman he was with. Speaking about that period, Jim said he stopped showing up properly in the relationship because all his attention went somewhere else — his son. “I lost my spark, and my wife suffered for it,” he said. He also admitted something many people online are reacting to. According to him, he became a very good father but a terrible husband at the same time. Everybody knows the kind of image Jim Iyke has always had. Back then in Nollywood, he was one of those actors people associated with confidence, drama, and that no-nonsense attitude, so hearing him talk this way surprised a lot of fans. So this softer side surprised many fans. Jim said things later became so bad emotionally that his partner told him she couldn’t even recognize the man she married anymore. According to him, he was struggling personally and didn’t really know how to fix himself at that point. He said he gave her two options — stay and hope things got better or leave if she couldn’t continue anymore. In the end, she left. The story has triggered different reactions online already. Some people praised him for admitting his mistakes publicly instead of acting innocent. Others said his partner probably got tired of feeling alone in the relationship. And honestly, many people can relate to that part. Away from the celebrity talk, a lot of relationships quietly suffer when communication disappears and one person starts carrying emotional weight alone. That’s one reason the interview is getting attention. People are not just seeing “Jim Iyke the actor” here. They’re seeing a real situation many couples deal with behind closed doors. Some readers say it shows growth. Others feel it’s simply too late. But one thing people seem to agree on is that fame doesn’t stop personal problems from happening. Governor Charles Soludo education criticism grows as Alex Onyia raises concerns over alleged crisis in Anambra universities, sparking mixed reactions online. There’s been fresh talk about education in Anambra, and it all started after Alex Onyia shared his concerns. He didn’t sugarcoat anything. According to Onyia who is also the CEO of Educare and also brain behind the South East Maths Olympiad, Governor Charles Soludo isn’t paying enough attention to what’s going on in some key schools in the state. And he went straight to naming names. Governor Charles Soludo Education Criticism Sparks Debate in Anambra First was Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. From how he put it, things there are really not okay. He called it a “total mess,” mentioned corruption, and even said basic things like electricity have been a problem for years. Then he brought up Tansian University too, saying the school is currently dealing with its own crisis. Mixed Reactions to Governor Charlers Soludo Education Criticism Claims At some point, he just dropped one line: “He is a professor.” That line alone carried a lot. Because for many people, that means expectations are naturally higher when it comes to education. Since then, people have been reacting — and not in the same way. Some are backing him. Their thinking is simple: if schools are struggling like this, then something needs to be fixed, and fast. No long talk. But others are not fully buying it. They’re saying hold on — it’s not everything you put on the governor. Universities don’t run the same way as ministries. Some are private, some have their own internal issues, and the truth is, problems in the education sector didn’t start today. So for them, the situation might be deeper than how it’s being presented. And that’s where everything is sitting now. Because once education comes up in a place like Anambra, people pay attention. It’s not one of those issues that people ignore. Online, you’ll see both sides clearly — people supporting Onyia, people questioning him, and some just watching how it will play out. No clear agreement. Some want action now. Others feel the full picture is still missing. Obi Cubana deletes everything City Boy posts as netizen react after reported APC primary loss, with Nigerians divided over the timing and implications. This time, it’s about what people are noticing on his social media. A number of his old posts linked to the “City Boy” movement and his support for President Bola Tinubu seem to have quietly disappeared. No announcement, no explanation… just gone. And Nigerians? Of course, they noticed. This is happening not too long after his reported loss in the APC House of Representatives primary. Before that, he wasn’t exactly silent about his political alignment. He openly supported the movement, and many people saw him as one of the public figures backing that direction. Source: [https://www.newsflashngr.com/governor-charles-soludo-under-fire-as-alex-o/]

Buhari (Must Read) Looking for bishop Uchenna Okonkwor drops another prophetic warning message of God to president Buhari? Then search no more as we bring you all the latest news as regards the prophecy the man of God carries and what it means to the nation at large. The prophetic revelation I had concerning President Buhari of Nigeria. Greetings to you all. This message of God almighty first came to me on the 25th of December 2019, I was mandated by God to tell President Buhari of Nigeria these prophecies. First God said Buhari has boasted in secrets of his intentions to wipe out Igbo’s by planting soldiers all over the Igbo land and also with the intention to use Biafra peaceful movement to wipe out Igbos because of their intention to pull out from Nigeria. God told me that Buhari came to power in Nigeria with the spirit of Adolph Hitler and with a mission of killing the Igbos as Adolph Hitler killed over 6 million Jews. Source: https://www.newsflashngr.com/bishop-uchenna-okonkwor-drops-another-prophetic/ The Almighty God told me that because he has boasted with some foreign powers that are Islamic in nature that he will raise an internal matters that will crush his Government as of March 2020. Bishop Uchenna Okonkwor Drops Another Prophetic The Buhari led Government will be by then but will exist as if he is no more. God also revealed to me where Buhari is sitting on a black table and I asked the spirit of God, why is he sitting on the black table? God told me that his government has been darkened by the angels of heaven. And either he rules with blindness or with a condition that he cannot be able to perform his official duties. I began to pray again and to ask God why such a terrible situation. The spirit of God told me to tell Buhari that he will not let him tolive to fulfill his evil plans against His people, the Igbos and against the body of Christ in Nigeria. God expressly revealed to me that Buhari has two demonic agendas given tp him from the pit of hell. The first agenda is to pull down the churches in Nigeria and to stop the advancement of the gospel work from the North to all parts of Nigeria in general. The second agenda is to ipe out Igbos and to close down all gigantic businesses in Nigeria and hotels been owned by the Igbos. God told me he is the African Hitler as Adolph Hitler is of Europe. The spirit of God also told me to warn Nigeria Vice President, Professor Obasanjo that he will pull him out of the government in a mysterious way because he is an unprofitable servant to GOD ALMIGHTY. God also told me that he will personally open up a lot of things. President Buhari has covered under his carpet while he is busy looking for people more innocent than him to probe and prosecute.
