...And yet another voice was heard from the very four corners of the earth !!
But this time, it was a voice 'from the call of a General'.
...a very unique voice that sprouts forth with plenty of financial emancipation.
A call for the son of men to immediately follow in the footsteps of a certain aiico general and 'insure' their funds !!
For he shall in turn 'assure' the geometric progression of funds brought to him.
...and those who hastened to the call were seen 'marching towards the north pole and singing along in the coaxed voice of the General', because they all had the beauty of immense joy emanating from their soul.
...while those who decided to wait, had the unfortunate write-up of plenty of regret written boldly in their faces.

For the appointed time of the General to march forward is now nearer than ever !!
Interesting codes... will make money even though I dislike the company.

Nice one, @ N30-31, Zenith bank dividend hunters would have made their dividends in full with zero loss in capital. Wow!!

It's good to have a strategy.

Fake rally.Holding one of the big banks tight.Incase the price fluctuates,I chop the dividend and raise my hope again.

Where is fcmb and Diamond banks results?Hope people will be able to stand JANET when the audited results finally burst.I will still stay at my usual joint waiting for these two stocks because I am seeing fake movement on them now.
It is possible Tier 2 banks have their strategy to distort charts too.

Today was module 1 on access bank, tomorrow will be module 2.

I am learning everyday..

That's how OandO started with some complex transactions that impoverished ordinary shareholders.

If Milost is serious, they should invest via special placement. They can even own 90% of the company. Who buys shares at 50% premium and penalise a company if share price drops? Criminals!
After reading carefully, I observed it is a win-win for Milost. Nothing do their invested capital at all. Meaning Japaul (shareholders inclusive) is just a collateral for a deal we have no details of.

No need to stop anyone from buying (IMO) because a percentage of some people's portfolio is set aside for gambling.

Sincerely speaking, it is not good to play with peoples' emotion especially when it has to do with money, taking into consideration the economic situation in the country. Some invested their savings, some sold properties to invest, while some invested with other peoples' money. It is enough trouble seeing their investment going downward. Then for you and other forum members to still be castigating/mocking them is like a direct insult.

The truth is that everybody cannot enter stocks at the same time, some will enter early, some late and some when the trouble is at its peak. That is life. Even if you go to the street and start throwing money everywhere, some people will still not be able to get there at the right time either by omission/commission.

Please let us learn to tolerate each other no matter the situation. With due regards please.
Nice piece. Reminds me of MMM.

My dear, I use a combination of a lot of factors to determine the fair price of any coy I wish to key into.
...and after that, I wait patiently for the right time before buying !!
For even an adjudged fair price of a stock could translate to a wrong trade if u key in at the wrong time.

That said, the complexities of the NSE market terrain requires u to 'always use ur sixth sense'.
To be better off, u also do need to add the Psychological and Information based technique to ur knowledge of fundamental and technical analysis, especially in this clime.

I'll recommend the following investment books;

The Intelligent Investor- by Benjamin Graham.
Security analysis- by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd.
Irrational exuberance- by Robert J. Shiller.
Common stocks and uncommon profits- by Phillip A. Fisher.
Come into my trading room- by Alexander Elder.
and
The little book that still beats the market- by Joel Greenblatt.

There are others, but the aforementioned 6 books above will surely help u start off on a very good footing.

Goodluck to u my dear !!
Thanks a lot. God bless u.

Sirs,

1. How can one train his eyes to spot a clear buying opportunity in a month when there is no general bull?

2. How do you calculate/estimate fair price of a stock? the formula (discounted cash flow method) I saw is so confusing.

Is it possible to have a new thread or time out for newbies/oldmen cos I think some of our questions are so offtrack that the elders in the house ignore. Or refer us to the schools or books you use. I appreciate your help

MSCI MOVEMENT IN EQUITY POSITION 1ST MARCH 2018

MSCI index just dumped Seplat and still uploading on FCMB, Unilever etc.

Going into FCMB by the funds means the fund is following the trail of Genesis.

For now the market is for those who are prepared to wait as so many stocks are in trading range with little volatility in the market.

Please, whats your take on linkage assurance on the short term (say till June / July).

Not sure if the price movement is because of the January bull or their books.

Thanks all, so Eternaoil profits only from petrol consumption and increase in pump price. When landing cost is high, I expect their profits to drop.

I stand to be corrected.

Why constantly dig up in the afternoon and night what was planted in the morning to check if it is germinating?

Imprison some freshbloods, free some long time prisoners.

Well, some registers got just single day closing date i.e 21st, while others got a window days of closing dates i.e 21st to 25th.

For single dates the register is updated the day after closure, i.e 22nd

For multiple the register is updated after the last day i.e 26th

Meaning if you enter within those closing date 21st to 25th you will get dividend payment.
Thanks! I get the picture now.

If your name enters the company register between 21st to 25th, you will be paid dividend, but after that date you will not get dividend from the company.
Thanks for your response, OBA. Please, can I sell my shares on the 22nd and still have my name in the register?

NSE gurus,

Please, what does it mean when a company closes its register.

If a company is set to close register from 21st to 25th, can I sell my shares on the 21st and still get its dividends or must I wait till after 25th?

Thanks.
