HtwoOw:Smart people get scammed too bro. He isn't any smarter, he is just a scammer... A fraudster. |
I have moved on already. I know the money will never come back. I have learnt my lessons properly. |
The money won't come back, but at least people will know fraudsters use this story on ladies to extort money from them. Ifeanyi Nweze (probably a fake name)- 08134922168 Sunday Ogwu (Fake police man)- 09030120078 David Agbo Moses (Fake doctor) - 08065282341 BACKGROUND- Ifeanyi is an acquaintance. No idea how our paths crossed. But we have been talking on the phone and chat on whasapp over time. He had even one time sent an item (not worth more than 5k) through my friend to me from Abuja, of his own accord. He has his native accent (Claims he is from Oboloafor) and also speaks hausa (claims he grew up in the north). He claims he deals in electricals ( Wires and stuff for connectios) business inherited from his late Dad. He informed me he was traveling to his villa to sort out some ish. Claims he is a prince, lost his dad last year, an only son and has just one sis(married). To back up this claims, he put up pics of the dad's burial arrangement poster. Photos taken at the burial. Him with his village people. Etc etc. THE SCAM: He called to inform me he will be coming to Lag for a few days from Enugu. As early as 6am he called and in the background you can hear car honking as he said he is driving out to start the journey. Around 10:30am, he called again and said he stopped by to buy some unripened plaintain for me. Lol. I told him not to bother cos I am leaving Lag the next day so it won't be of any use to me. I asked were he has reached and he said Agbor. In 20mins time, my phone rang and it was his number but another man spoke to me saying "The owner of this phone was involved in an accident. We are taking the injured to hospital. When we get there I will call you back to give you more details. I called this number as I saw this was the last number dialed few minutes ago". At the background I could hear sirens blasting and people's voices. After 20mins and no call, I called the number back. The man picked up and introduced himself as a police officer (His real name is Sunday Ogwu) He told me the story of how they were on patrol and saw a small crowd beating a young man and had to rush there, even fired some shots in the air to disperse them and rescued the man. He said the accident involved the car and a keke napep. The keke driver broke his leg and the 2 other passengers injured were taken to a private hospital (BETHEL HOSPITAL BENIN) and Ifeanyi who was beaten mercilessly by the mob was taken to the police station for safety (UGBOWO POLICE STATION). The fake police man said he has left the hospital heading to the station to inform Ifeanyi of the bills and what the doctor said. And he will call me to speak with him when he gets there. Few minutes after the number called me back, said he has passed the info to him that the hospital requested for 180k as bill to be paid before they can commence treatment. He handed the phone to Ifeanyi and he recaped same story the fake police man told me and added that when he was told the bill, he went to his car to get the money but alas the mob had broken into his car and stole all the cash there including his second phone, luckily he had this other phone in his pocket so it wasn't stolen. He also said he asked the police man to take him to the nearest bank so he can withdraw the money but they refused saying they have had cases were such individuals after been released file a report saying they were extorted by the police hence they won't let him. To cut the long story short, I asked the fake police man to provide his account number so I can run around for the money. I also asked him to provide the hospital account number so I can send to people directly that it will make the people I will be telling the story believe me and help. He sent his Diamond Account number- 0080767038 And the Fake doctors GTB account number - 0210838919 As all these were going on, I luckily got across to someone who stays around Ugbowo police station to go check on him. By The time the man called me back,he told me not to bother with further details as there was no such incident at the station or anyone bearing those 2 names. Unfortunately, I had transferred my hard earned 50k to Sunday Ogwu, the fake police man. By evening, Ifeanyi called me back narrating how he was able to get across someone who came to settle the bill. And they found out it was 100k the hospital charged, and the DPO wasn't even aware of what this officer was trying to do, and he is currently in hot soup etc etc.he aslo said he heard someone came to ask for him and they didn't let him see the person etc etc. (I was still acting like I don't know it's all scam or should I say I was too shocked at the extent they had gone to plan all these sequence of events )He was showering prayers on my head of how I am far too kind as he didn't expect me to go out of my way to assist. He asked for my account number so he can send back the money to me as he knew I borrowed it. By next day, he still called sayig he is at Asaba with the guy who came to help him out and that he gave the guy the money to send to me. As I had to leave town same day, I called to find out what happened to the refund of the money, alas! He doesn't take his calls anymore. No response to his WhatsApp messages after reading them (WhatsApp Number -09039309882 ) This is how I was scammed of 50k in this current economic harshness. The numbers still ring but is never answered. The WhatsApp messages still deliver and is read, but no response. I refused to curse him or abuse him. I don't even know what to think. But surely Karma never losses an address. Have you experienced this kind of scam? What did you do ![]() |
AZUH:It maybe case sensitive. Have you tried calling? Check their site. https://france.visahq.com.ng/embassy/nigeria/ |
OGreene:Good to know it was helpful. Hoping to hear from them next week on my application. The kind of error that has followed this my reapplication... I can only hope for the best. Apparently, they just created a yahoo mail for me n used it to register n process my application. Right now I can't track my application, but I expect a response from Sheffield by next week that a decision has been made. |
OGreene:I suggest you make use of the feedback and complaints form on the tls site. You will get a response on your enquiry. They responded to mine within an hour! So, try it. |
Discovered something strange... Logged into my account on the tls site to track my application only to find this strange number showing as mine: GWF030000000 ![]() Meanwhile, yesterday few hours after I left the VI office, they called me to log in and reconfirm my GWF number. Obviously, they were doing everything manually as their site was under repair as they told me. So now can't track my application on the site. I'v already logged a complaint on there site... Though I don't know if it went through, but I intend to call them tomorrow morning. ... Just negodu dis kind of long story bikonu ![]() |

iblaw:Abi o, the chopping no b here o!. The crowd i saw 2day was overwhelming... Summer trips. Looked as if the whole Lagos wan vacate. Lol |
So I went to submit my application for the 2nd time today. Applied last month n got a refusal. 1st timers error. Anyways, after the biometric, No interview. Unfortunately, the tls site refused to open so couldn't pay for courier service, they said the site was under repair or something. Though they assured me they'll send me a mail this time around on when exactly to come for pick up. I also wrote a letter iro of the refusal letter.. Clearing all the doubts and concerns raised as basis for refusal. Let's see how it goes again, Cos the initial refusal was baseless. Less I forget, I got alot of useful ideas reading this thread. I didnt need to ask any question cos all had been addressed already. So thanks to all the contributors, esp justwise |

10 Most Weird Reasons Why People Got Fired at Work Posted by Paul @ngcareers Hiring and Firing has long been a part of life in the today’s business world. People get fired for various reasons from poor performance to scandals (intimate, financial etc). Still there are some weird reasons why people have got sacked at work. Everyday people get sacked (that’s not news is it?). It’s the reason why some get sacked that pricks the attention. Here are some of the downright craziest and not so understandable reasons why people have been sacked by their employees. Note that we have not ranked them in any particular order. 1. Being Too Beautiful and Attractive Melissa Nelson was fired by her boss for being “too beautiful and irrestistible” Her employee said she was fired because she was becoming a threat to his marriage as he could no longer stop being attracted to her. Melissa went to court and the funniest thing? The all-male Iowa State Supreme Court ruled that James Knight, Nelson’s boss, was within his legal rights when he fired her, affirming the decision of a lower court. The 32 year old married mother of two was shocked when she was fired and told the reason for her sack. “I was very surprised after working so many years side by side I didn’t have any idea that that would have crossed his mind,” she said. The two never had a s*xual relationship or sought one, according to court documents, however in the final year and a half of Nelson’s employment, Knight began to make comments about her clothing being too tight or distracting. 2. Writing a Blog Did you ever think having your own blog could get you fired at work? That’s exactly what happened to Ellen Simonetti a former flight attendant with Dleta Airlines. The management of Delta Airlines discovered she had a blog “Diary of a Flight Attendant” where she writes about her life as a flight attendant. And according to her she never wrote anything to bring the airline into bad light. However Delta Airline said they found one of the photos of Simonetti in her uniform on the blog inappropriate. A part of her bra was visible in the picture. And so she got fired. 3. Beating a Team 100 – 0 Is it not the ambition of owners of sports team that their team defeat allother opposition by as many goals or points as possible? Not so sure it is, going by the account of a coach that got himself sacked for beating another by 100 – 0. Micah Grimes was the basketball team coach for his girls’ high school basketball team. The school named Covenant School was a private Christian school. The match was between the Covenant School girls’ basketball team and one academy that specialized in helping kids with learning differences like dyslexia. The school determined that beating a team of people with learning disorders by 100 – 0 was not Christ-like. Micah Grimes refused to apologise and was sacked. 4. Dancing Gangnam Style 14 Lifeguards at California were fired by their employees for recording avideo where they danced a version of PSY’s “Gangnam Style” According to the authorities the 14 lifguards shouldn’t have done the dance wearing their lifeguard swimsuits issued by the authorities. Even though it was confirmed that they did the dance outside of their work hours. 5. Typing in ALL CAPS Vicky Walker an accountant with ProCare Health in New Zealand was fired for typing her emails in capital letters all through. She however took her case to the courts and won a $17,000 NZ compensation for wrongful dismissal and got her job back. 6. Shaving Your Hair for Charity Stacey Fearnall, whose father died of cancer, decided to shave her head for a cancer fundraising event. But when she returned to work at Nathaniels restaurant, where she worked as a waiter, she was laid off. The mother of two was told by her boss to go home after she refused to wear a wig. 7. Updating Your Facebook Status Now this is one thing almost all of us are guilty of in this country. Every now and then you sneak into your social media account. Just know that it could get you sacked. Just ask Kimberly Swann. Kimberly Swann was summarily sacked after her boss learned — via her updated status — that she was “bored at work.” Her boss, meanwhile, says Swann’s admission of boredom revealed that “she just wasn’t happy here” and thus “it wasn’t going to work out.” The question is, why was the boss perusing Facebook on company time? Was he, perhaps, a little bored? 8. Saving a Woman About to Be Robbed A waiter in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who left his shift to rescue a woman being attacked by an armed carjacker was fired after the heroic effort. A 22-year-old woman was attacked by a knife-wielding man outside the 84 Thai Food restaurant in the Southland Shopping Center. Restaurant waiter Juan Canales spotted the attack and ran to help. Canales said he tackled the culprit, who police identified as Albert Means, and held him until police could arrive. However, when Canales went back to work, he said his boss terminated him. The woman he saved, Massiel Marquartdt, said she did not understand why Canales was fired. The restaurant manager said Canales may be a hero but he just wasn’t that good of an employee. 9. Texting in Court If you thought playing around with a phone and sending texts during serious issues are a problem of teenager and youths only think again. And if you think magistrates can get away with breaking certain rules you are wrong. Magistrate Danielle Gregory lost her job because she was caught texting during a trial. Among the text messages she sent were three pictures of herself to a married male employee in the middle of more than one juvenile hearing. Gregory’s supervisor wrote in the disciplinary record that “Multiple text messages were sent from [Gregory's] cell phone number to [the male employee's] cell phone during court hours including times [she] was on the bench conducting court sessions. 10. Wearing Orange to Work At a law firm in Florida, there had been a tradition among the office workers of wearing orange on paydays as a sign of solidarity when they went out to happy hour after work. Orange is pretty much synonymous with Florida – from the University of Florida Gators, right down to the oranges for which the state is famous. But in 2012, the law firm fired 14 people who had been wearing orange on these days for months – simply because the new company executives somehow took it as an insult. The new management felt that the orange- wearing of so many employees must have been some form of protest, despite the fact that it had been going on since before they took control of the firm, and also despite the fact that there was no policy against wearing orange. Lwmmp!!! Duh? How Does One Explain This? Had a gud laff reading dis so I tot I culd share it wit u guys jst 4 d fun. Credits: oddee.com, listverse.com, realitypod.com, ngcareers.com |
