I have already asked for the extension. I did it via web form. I believe that's the appropriate way or is there a better means to notify IRCC about the extension?

alot of people got remed request recently plus those that booked just incase. Just keep emailing or get a contact person there that you can call to ask about any openings that come up, you might get something close to your deadline. however i’ll advice requesting for extension with proof inform of the email response for the clinic as a backup once its like 2weeks to the deadline

Does anyone have an available date for medical and can swap?. I have been told to repeat my medical but I have not been able to find a date within the 30 day window. The earliest which I have booked for now is 31st January 2022.

What can be done in this situation?

Review Required is automatically triggered when an applicant answers yes to any of the stat questions & when there is a change in age between ITA and e-APR. Usually, This category of RR doesn’t result in prolong application processing time. Your file is probably awaiting final review by a senior officer ( on hold due to travel restrictions). You should be fine if there are no discrepancies in your IMM 5406

What note number is this screenshot from, NOTE 1 or NOTE 2 or NOTE 10 etc.......NOTE 1 is your most recent update.....check that.

Again, I would advise you calmly review your GCMS and if you have already done this, watch and pray!

'Note 1' from 13/01/2020 simply says "Status inquiry received from PA via CSC. Confirmed that file is currently awaiting officer review"

Hi, the screenshot you have posted is the review done by a Program Assistant during R10 and I guess you have a visa refusal hence the stat questions.

After the program assistant’s note there should be another one by a Case Processing Agent who then recommends either a pass or review required before Officer’s review.
In your current notes (last one received) which do you have and what’s the comment?

Yes I once had a visa refusal by the US which I made known to them.

Please find the screenshot of the case analyst recommendation below (from the 21st of October 2019).

After this recommendation by the case analyst shown below, the officer review stated that the file was reviewed and eligibility and criminality has been passed pending IMM5406 which was the additional request for information. They requested for this which I did immediately and reverted. Its receipt was acknowledged and assigned to an officer (06/11/2019).

Since then there has been grave silence apart from the time I contacted them (13/01/2020) and my profile was updated to say "Status inquiry received from PA via CSC. Confirmed that file is currently awaiting officer review". I have contacted them several times since then but this wasn't captured in the GCMS notes.

Where is the review required (RR) written? You could paste a screenshot if you like, black out personal info.

If your eligibility is passed/met, then the RR was probably a note by an analyst and an officer has reviewed the analyst's comments and subsequently passed you. If eligibility is passed, you're probably all good.

About "security not started", nothing for you to do except wait and pray.

Thank you very much. The review required comment was under 'notes', shortly after my submission (may 2019). Then I was requested to provide additional information (IMM5406) which I did and receipt was acknowledged and it was assigned to an officer. The most recent note (after I made contact to enquire about the delay) says 'confirmed that file is currently awaiting officer review'. I'm assuming that nothing has been done on the file since November 2019 when it was assigned to an officer.

Yes, I have 'review required'. What does this mean?

You are not alone....it seems there are some 2018 applicants still waiting. Some files have been approved but they have not been issued PPR because of travel restrictions.

Check your GCMS notes again....first 3 pages and see what is written under assessments (see image), this is the most basic summary of where you stand. Also check from the very last page of the GCMS document containing NOTES. NOTE 1 (the most recent), NOTE 22 (oldest) to see what an analyst or officer has said in detail.

PS: GCMS has ALL your info....you'll be surprised what you'll find when you read it from beginning to the end.....even your requests for GCMS notes & all your correspondence are indicated there, as well as any and every edit made to the Express Entry profile even before getting ITA.

Thanks so much for your response. I have passed everything but security hasn't been started yet. So I guess it's just to wait or can I do anything from my own end?

- Eligibility passed an officer?
- Criminality
- Security

If these three have been conclusively passed with no issues then it is a waiting game.

I have passed security and eligibility. Not sure I saw anything regarding security on the GCMS notes but I am guessing it goes with criminality? Do you know of anyone who has waited this long (25 months)?

I applied for PR since April 2019 (25 months ago). I have done biometric capture and was requested to provide addiotional information on my family in October 2019. Since then I have not made any progress and using webform does not give me any information since it seems they just copy and past their replies to me. GCMS notes do not give any information either and when I call, they blame the delay on COVID-19. My application is being processed in Ottawa.

Does anyone have any clue what could have gone wrong or have had similar experience?

That update just means medicals have expired - once it changes from "you passed medicals on so so and so date", it's expired.

I actually requested for one last in October/November 2019 and everything seemed to be on track. There were no flags. I have requested for another one some days back so we'll see how that goes.

It's a weird place to be in.

Some people from 2019 have been getting remeds request as an ADR this month. I know others from 2019 who did their proactively (I was also in this boat).

The choice is actually yours. You may decide to just do it and see if it will trigger anything. Or at least write to them via webform. Eventually you will need to do remeds as they can't issue COPR to you with expired medicals.

Ok. Thank you for your response. I have actually not directly asked them about the status of my medicals when I write them. I think I should do this. Also, my profile updated to say that I don't need medicals some months back. I don't know what that information implies...

I have not redone this. I am even thinking if it is necessary to do it. If it is necessary at this point, would they not tell me to do so?

I applied since April 2019 and up till now I haven't received my PR. Numerous calls and emails and they keep saying it's due to COVID-19.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Has anyone heard of an express entry application that took 21 months and counting? I've heard of 18 months but not 21 months!

Last meaningful communication with them was when I was asked to provide additional information in October 2019.

What's the suggested way forward please?

The said Ebola Virus Awareness campaign has been on and running in the 3 major Nigerian languages including the Said Igbo language on National Television especially the NTA for more than 3 weeks now in the North.

The problem with most of u guys is that you rarely watch our local TV Stations. MTV, SuperSport, and the likes won't show you whats happening in your country.

The good this about this is that its just an ordinary person that did this. That fact I think should make it more appealing to people.
