Fada Kristimas has an airtime today for whoever can say correctly the prayer "Memorare" here first. |
FrancisTony:Happy feast day double saint. Been a while. |
Today fada Kristimas happily focuses on the blessed Virgin Mary, his beloved mother. Fada Kristimas wants us to list the feasts of Mary celebrated by the church in Nigeria. An airtime of 1k awaits whoever lists the most correct feasts. *Just do your best, you never can tell...* Happy feast day to all. |
"We declare, pronounce and define that the doctrine which holds that the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the first instant of her conception, by a singular privilege and grace of the Omnipotent God, in virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of mankind, was preserved immaculate from all stain of original sin, has been revealed by God, and therefore should firmly and constantly be believed by all the faithful." — Pope Pius IX, Ineffabilis Deus, December 8, 1854 Often times you hear some Catholics explain the immaculate conception as the Virgin birth, i.e the conception of Jesus in the virginal womb of Mary. This is wrong. The immaculate conception is the conception of Mary in the womb of Ann, and Mary was without original sin. Hmm...how is that? "The papal definition of the dogma declares with absolute certainty and authority that Mary possessed sanctifying grace from the first instant of her existence and was free from the lack of grace caused by the original sin at the beginning of human history. Mary's salvation was won by her son Jesus Christ through his passion, death, and resurrection and was not due to her own merits." To break this down, it means that the merits of Christ passion, death and resurrection (which paid our debts of original sin, but which we gain at baptism), was applied to Mary at the very first moment of her existence. Why was this necessary? It was necessary because, God cannot be seen to dwell under the devil's roof at anytime. Mary cannot be steeped in sin of any sort and still carry God in her womb. Did scripture make any exposition on this? Of all the passages we can draw inference from, Gen.3:15 is the most insightful. Here God prophesied to creat enemity between the serpent and the woman, it's seed and her seed. It follows thus that at no point in time will either the woman or her seed be in the devil's hold. Every one of us were once in the devil's hold, that's why one of the things baptism does is to make us "Children of God"...I hope you remember your catechism..., but Mary and Jesus were never in such a situation. The Lourdes connection Four years after the church defined this dogma, the blessed Virgin began to appear to a young naive girl of about 12 years old, in the town of Lourdes in France. On being questioned by the parish priest for the name of the woman appearing to her, the young girl in turn asked the Lady apparition who she was, the lady then responded "Je suis l'mmaculee conception- I am the immaculate conception". Lourdes today remains one of the greatest pilgrimage centres and a place known for many miraculous recoveries. I recall our sister babestell was there sometime ago and lighted a candle for us. God bless us all as we celebrate. Good morning, and a splendid day ahead to all. |
Rich4god:Beloved brother, you're welcome. Happy feast day to you. |
babestell:Now that's true grace from the sacrament of penance. Happy feast day to you too. |
Tomorrow is the feast of the Immaculate conception of the virgin Mary. Lets find out about the hour of grace and make use of it if we can . Aizenosa and rejosom well done on your answers, however, the first to answer took the prize. God bless you. |
Patheos:Na fada Kristimas o, I go tell am say you greet. |
Patheos:Congrats. It's done. |
jnrbayano:In a sense, but the legion of Mary has kinda the "patency right" over this group in the Church. |
Patheos:Correct answer. Please send the number and network for your 1k recharge from fada Kristimas. |
Today fada Kristimas focuses on a group in the Catholic church. Today's question for 1k airtime is this: What group holds the Partrician meeting in the Catholic Church. |
Today's Gospel Mt 7:21, 24-27 Jesus said to his disciples: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. "Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined." Where have I built my house, On a rock or sand? I shall not be decieved to believe there will be no rain, wind or flood to test it. What is the rain or wind or flood to test me in life, how am I holding up to it? May God grant us the grace to be wise. Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all. |
Today 6th December is feast day of St. Nicholas, legend holds the origin of Santa Claus to a twist in his name. He was known for his gifts especially to children. Santa Claus is fada Kristimas, now you know why today was special to fada Kristimas. |
Pchinak: Sorry dear, better luck next time. |
SalC:Wow! So it needed fada kristimas to make me post on 6th Dec. Congrats to your brother. It's a special day not for Syncan but fada Kristimas |
Today is a special day for Fada Kristimas, he is in a unique joyous mood. An airtime of 1k goes to the first person to get the correct reason for this joy. |
In the Lord's own house shall i dwell for length of days unending. Psalm 23 From today's responsorial psalm. I once read in a book (I believe it is) "Victory of matyrs" by St. Alphonsus de liguori, of certain persons who haven been tortured greatly by the Romans, had to apostasize in the end, some having lost their limbs and considered as a burden, were still killed. The saints were so afraid of this that they practice several kinds of mortification of the flesh to endure torture. To finish the race properly and earn a place in the house of the Lord for days unending is the ultimate goal. May we never lose the eternal merits of our faith and good works on earth. Amen. Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all. |
jnrbayano:Your request is granted by fada Kristimas, your gifts has been sent |
Modalism or Sabellianism is the right word I was waiting for, Patripassianism is a heresy which arose as a result of Sabellianism. It is only when you profess that the father is Jesus, that you run into the problem of saying that the father suffered on the cross. This heresy was condemned as early as the 3rd century, unfortunately some people still think the spirit just revealed it to them. But fada Kristimas will give it to the first person to answer. Submit number and network Jnrbayano for 1k recharge. |
babestell:It's not easy to understand fada Kristimas sometimes ![]() I believe you got two songs only, I trust you can find the links. One of them has to win. |
We have heard people teach that God the Father is the same person who manifested himself as the resurrected Jesus and as the Holy Spirit as well, that these are not three persons in one God. Knowing that this is a cardinal point of our faith, Fada Kristimas today will give out 1k airtime to whoever that gives correctly the name of that heresy (false teaching). Any additional info on it is welcome. |
Today's GOSPEL (Luke I 0:2 1-24) At that hour: Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, ‘I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. The Gospel of the Lord... The Jews expected a political Messiah, Jesus was not one. Jesus came and left them still paying tax to ceaser! Yet Jesus says it was a great thing to have seen him and witnessed his works. Their focus on their desire, made them blind to the value of what they have before them. Let's pray for the grace to focus on and hold on to what is truly of value, and not be distracted by less important desires. Ihe m ji na-aka, o kariri ego, ihe m ji na-aka, nke m ji ka. Ihe m ji na-aka, o kariri ego uwa, ihe m ji na-aka, okwu Chineke.... Good morning, a splendid day ahead to all. |
SalC:Too late SalC, that number is already credited. |
SalC:That was for babestell...the first paragraph, an automatic 1k airtime, but Fada Kristimas has heard you and will recharge that number today. Yours is the second paragraph. |

babestell:It's sad to hear about Italo's Dad, may his soul rest in peace. May God grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss. I condole with you on the death of your mechanic, may his soul rest in peace. A little child was carrying a smaller one on her back and was walking with difficulty, a passerby seeing this child struggling, exclaimed" who gave this child this heavy load", to the surprise of the passerby, the little child retorted "o bughi ibu aro, o Nwanne m - it's not a heavy load, that's my sibling". That's all I can say about your brother and you. On the rest sis, sometimes it just doesn't work for us when we need it to. Amidst all these diffulties in life, trying to solve a need on my own without God scares me a lot. All around me are people who are no longer with us, but were here yesterday, discussed their needs with me, set out plans to solve them, but are not here to complete it. I have seen the love between adopted children and their parents, that I begin to feel ashamed for those who took the path of sin to bear theirs. I have seen doors eventually open for those who refused to defile their bodies for career, that I began to feel ashamed for those who earlier rushed at the opportunity. Each time I tell myself, Syncan you are not alone in this challenge, God's people in many places are holding on, I have to hold on too, for I am one of them. |
crixcrox:Babestell gave you the simple practical answer. If I have to follow up, don't be discouraged if the first parish isn't cooperative, try the next one. Sometimes human differences affect a lot of things. |

Thanks in advance

Sorry dear, better luck next time.
