Travel / Re: Poland Work Visa by szczescie(m): 5:29pm On Jun 23, 2022 |
I did mine, the list had about 10 names of people to be interviewed on the day. Only 2 + me = 3 showed up [It’s possible that the validity of the documents entitling some of the absentees to come to the embassy has already expired or something else I can’t explain but I’d love to know] My time was 10:30am 5 others were slated for earlier (8am-ish) but only 2 showed up and they had both left before I came. I suspect this was the case because on the list only those 2 were marked present and their details filled, out of all the people whose time was earlier than mine but everyone else was left blank even though their time had passed. It was minutes past 9am and I was called in, I was shocked I had assumed I’d have some time to relax and collect my thoughts, I also erroneously assumed the crowd outside were all for visa interview. Only to find out I was the only one present for the interview. They brought a list and asked of my name and time. I pointed it out to the guy: I was number 5 or 6 on the list. One Naija security instructed another: “Tell them someone is here for 10:30am” The white security: “Ok let him in, tell him to come” It was all good, I entered; I had no chance to explain myself just quick fire questions about 10 questions and that was it. I answered everything to the best of my ability. The lady went through my documents returned one original, she was pissed I stapled my passport photograph “did you get that information from the gate?” She yelled. I replied “I did that long before I arrived abuja, I’m the only one for interview at the gate and the form said…” she wasn’t interested in my explanation she proceeded without letting me finish. The thing pain me small because I felt I hadn’t said the most important thing I wanted to say but I kept it in. played it off. I was going to say the form CLEARLY states ‘Passport’ with a rectangle for passport and the list clearly states colored 35*45 passport photograph with white background so it was only logical that I or someone else would place the passport on the area designated for passport. You can’t tell me in all the years that embassy has been there I am the first or only person to have placed a passport on the place marked Passport. This wasn’t some cheat, hack or expo, or even something I thought would be of any real importance. The date of arrival I had thought would be off more importance was scuffed aside like it was nothing. She gave me the document to change something and sign. Write something else and sign. So that passport Thing was the only notable stormy water or rough play incident, she took off the passport photo and gave it back to me and stapled the second passport to the form She had succeeded in destabilizing my train of thought, I had to slow down and started repeating my answers twice, and more slowly. I felt she may have assumed someone coached me at the gate and maybe I crammed the answers, since I may have been giving all the answers they wanted to hear. By 10:08 I was out already. Still no one else came for the interview till my ride arrived and I left at almost 10:20, you’d think anyone scheduled for 10:30 would be at the venue at 10:20 latest. There were a lot of people present when I arrived earlier but most of them were there to complain and non of them was allowed in for various reasons ranging from no appointment date yet to late arrival and more. But the number of people there to complain scared me. All the seats were taken some had to stand. By the time I came out every one of them had left or were leaving out of frustration except one guy who was sitting, [another cause for concern especially for someone such as myself who needs to take a flight to abuja and book a hotel to do anything at the embassy]. All in all I felt it was too easy and I don’t like when things like these are too easy because it’s a little nerve wrecking it feels like a set up, maybe it’s PTSD from my days in University where certain lecturers would give us questions like “what is law” “give 10 definitions of law as test questions for 10 marks” and at the end of the day the whole class would fail because it was a trap or only meant to prove something to us and make us buy a handout. Especially when you know the lecturer has been placing emphasis on names of those who bought the handout and saying things like “you can’t pass this course without this book”, away from my PTSD of easy questions. To me it seemed easy because I love politics, government, history, general knowledge, geography (I hated geography in school because of the teacher tho) and all that stuff so nothing was challenging to me. As I was answering them I said to myself are you sure this woman will not say I got all these answers from the gate too if she said that about fixing passport photograph to a place designated “passport”. This lady may be paranoid oh or it is just tactics to through me off. Because everything else up until then was 100% smooth. But then I saw maths and my heart sank, alarm started blowing in my brain I had to calm myself down took 3 deep breathes solved the first and 3rd they were very easy (they had the least number of signs) but the middle one was more technical with plenty signs (x/and divide) so I needed one extra breathe it was also doable and I submitted Now we await the outcome. You know how something to you is such a big deal, you’ve spent months or even years gathering and preparing but to the people in charge or on lookers, the guys who determine your fate you’re just another statistic, just another days job, I mean to you it’s months or years of work and preparation to them it’s just another 10-15 minutes in the office LOL that’s the reality of things like these. Or another more gruesome example is how to the mortuary attendant it’s just another dead body but to someone else it’s a loved one with many shared experiences, dreams, hopes, aspirations etc. etc, That’s why I hate when things like these are too easy and the indifference is to the max, although it’s better than certain other outcomes. So we take solace in that. For those who have been lucky and filled with grace to get to this point, my wish for us all is that same grace and luck continues to carry us till the very end. -BB 6 Likes |

Happychioma: I asked my employer about it “I need a Letter of extension because the expected arrival date in Poland has passed (since February 2022)” But they sent me something along the lines of: “We don't have any similar documents. Usually, the delay is not an issue for the embassy to process the documents as your work permit is valid till the final date(which is in 2023).” But they assured me that if I could get a copy of someone else’s later or any sample at all, they will make it for me. 1 Like |

Hey guys DO NOT PAY ANYONE that promises to give you DATE FOR VISA INTERVIEW. They are ALL FRAUDSTERS every single one of them. They are prowling on twitter and other social media handle of the Polish embassy, they make complaints or claim to have gotten solution to their own issues They then refer you to ANOTHER ACCOUNT or PHONE NUMBER of “someone that works in the embassy” my guy it’s ALL A SCAM. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR IT, I can post some of their phone numbers and social media handles here if Nairaland mods will allow. In conclusion: Don’t pay anyone to fix visa interview date for you it’s all a big scam One of them his full name is Edeki E m m a n u el Tega it is his GTB account that the money is paid into Na scammer Edit: he has deleted his Facebook Another one is @ grey emp_ (one word no space) on twitter that one changes his name and DP regularly 1 Like |

I’ve also been trying to find out what happens to my passport, I know it takes about 15 days for them to grant or deny visa so how do I get my passport back I can’t stay in abuja for the 15 or so days I already booked a return flight from abuja So how do I get back my passport is there a mailing service option or something |

7 days notice. Do them Now don’t wait until you receive invitation they’ll be no time to do it then, especially the police clearance but the insurance you can do that anytime because it comes out very fast no normal Nigerian system in that one But you see that clearance certificate it takes atleast 2 weeks and you’ll only have 6 or 7 days so the earlier the better. |

Na only blessings go follow you this year and beyond amen Lol I suspected these were what will be asked I'm only surprised they asked him that many questions I also said they only invite 10 people per interview and you said less than 10 Na wa oh when I was telling people they thought I was fear mongering or something. Out of that 10 as at last year they'll only give 1 many times they didn't even give anyone at all work visa But this is new year I remain hopeful for you update on January 19 or 20 after our man would have known his fate Let's keep our fingers crossed. 2 Likes |

Bull77778: Lol Nigerians and our "My case will be different", I am special, my God will see me through mentality, my destiny is different mentality, Nigerians are optimistic people sha If the invitation for visa interview is only issued to 10 people per week and visa approval rate is 10% of those 10 people that's 1 in 10 it's as good as saying they aren't giving visa at all because the backlog now is much, every week they waste More and More people are being added to the system further reducing the odds or chances of everyone (the new comers, me, you and others who have been in the system even longer being picked. And like I've already said being invited for the interview obviously does not guarantee you'll get the visa. I don't know of anyone so far from October 2021 till this January 3, 2022. Who has gotten visa appointment and *was actually granted visa in that Polish embassy*. I only know of few who got it through back door they were denied outrightly, while those who got it legitimately have kept being posted and reposted till today (it may just be coincidence of holiday but the embassy should have a calendar and not send people appointments on Christmas holiday only to postpone again also it may be that those people were denied not because they used backdoor but because of something else) all the same the end results have all been negative. If you know any person who has gotten visa during this period (September, October, December) please drop testimony here you can also post images of the visa feel free to blur the person's name and every thing just show us the month and date of approval on the Wiza(Visa) stamped in the passport to show it's Po Polsku (Polish) daz all. People in the system right now are over 4,000. I know are more than 15 persons since that October and non of them have gotten visa. Even almost everyone here who has been getting rejection Letter longer than me can testify to that fact. I've only been getting the apology/rejection email for one month now. So the thing is you have somewhere about 10 in 4,000 chances of being drawn every week and as they keep delaying and rejecting more people are applying schools are still giving January abi autumn admissions there's one name they call it. Others are still getting work permits and everyone is applying for visa. So I'm not saying they aren't issuing visa they maybe issuing but the rate is too low to be felt or noticed by us the applicants or anyone else, everyone I know of personally who have been in the draw since September have not been drawn. All the same, let's watch and see how things go this new year someone here said a friend of his got visa interview date this January 5th or there about so let's wait and hear his feedback. Mind you That's just 1 out of the many of us here on Nairaland who have applied oh. 2 Likes |

For those of us who are already in the system This people served us Apology letter on Christmas day 25th December 2021 and New year's Day too 1st January 2022, it was heartbreaking, a sad way to start 2022 but we move. I have bad news and speculations of good news Bad news is no way around the system even if you manage to use back door to get interview date they will deny you visa for frivolous reasons. The embassy is purposely denying people visa and it's not just Nigerians or only the Africans (the other 7 countries using the polish embassy in Nigeria), but other countries as well which means it may be order from above this one pass consul or Poland embassy in Nigeria hands. But the good news I'm suspecting is it seems there MAY BE draw on 18, 19, 20, 21 January 2022 like for that week 4 days straight the draw will take place for the usual 9:45 to 11pm, i hope and wish it really happens and it's not just a one time thing and also that the quota something has started reading from 0 again based on New year New quota. Let us keep our fingers crossed, if it happens then there is every chance that some of us if not all of us here will be among those picked in about 2 weeks from now. This weekly Apology cum rejection Letter done taya me. 2 Likes |

Udobigj: Let me tell you the truth, I am the most optimistic person here, but from what I have gathered personally the Polish Embassy is trying to make sure not everyone gets a visa. Even those who are qualified. They are doing so by using this draw system; they said, Your Application number will remain in the draw till you get a date for visa interview or till your work permit or any other document authorising you to work or study in Poland expires meaning they know what they are doing. They also said 2021 they were overwhelmed by the sudden influx of people who suddenly became interested in studying and working in Poland. To answer your question the permit usually lasts from 6 months to 1 year but most people with 6 Months permits may likely not get invited by the embassy before it expires and immidiately it expires the thing giving you legitimacy to apply for visa is no more so your application will be thrown out from the system you will no longer be part of the draw Even students masters and doctoral especially, I haven't interacted with undergraduate students to know but some from the September/October 2021 were still not given visa and instead of talking about fixing interview date the embassy was talking something along the lines of school fees refunds and what not. Men the thing shock me. If they can do it to students they can definitely do it to workers. At leas students are coming to pay you school fees and books and hostel money while workers are coming to take jobs and earn salary, salary that could have remained in Europe and jobs that could have gone to Europeans. This people no send at all. 4 Likes |
