NewT123: Hi guys, I applied for renewal of my Nigerian passport and completed my biometrics using the contactless option exactly 2 weeks ago. I also sent my passport to the high commission with the £20 postal order and ensure all procedures were correct.
However for the past 2 weeks, the tracker has not passed “enrolled” and still awaiting passport production approval. Please is this normal? If not, how do I chase for an update Don't be too concerned about the tracker not showing. It doesn't always update in real time. Wait for another week, it should be delivered by then. |

Mystique8: Hello Everyone,
I recently got admission at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland for January 2027. However I have a previous study refusal from September 2025. During the application, they did not ask about my immigration history, I'm sure it will come up before cas issuance and I don't intend hiding it due to deposit issues. Do you suggest I attach a cover letter explaining how my circumstances have changed while submitting the refusal letter to the school? I highly doubt that a university will ask of your immigration history before giving you CAS. The details of your past visas are only needed when you apply for a visa |

ijayalolo: This might be coming late. I think you should listen to the people that talked earlier. With your Nigerian passport every benefit from the US government is presently on hold.
Even the students that just graduated now are stranded because processing of OPT and even CPT (which you get as a student o) are both on hold.
Although they are authorized to be in US for as long as it takes them to process the OPT (even if 10 years) but THEY CAN'T WORK until their EAD is out.
So that your OPT plan e get as e be unless of course, the ban is lifted. Many people are hoping things might change after the mid-term election though when the Dems in the house will be able to dictate things better.
Thank you for your attention to this matter Even if Dems get more seats they can not override an EO, that's the right of a President. The in country adjudication pause for those from banned countries was an add-on by USCIS. It wasn't part of the EO visa ban. Ideally USCIS should rescind that decision or at least make allowances for it. Too many people stuck in limbo because of it. Students, spouses ,employees, those applying for citizenship. |

snoopy: This is odd. They can't ask you about ties to your home country as an H-1B applicant or a spouse to an H-1B because typically, 90% of all H-1B ultimately end up with an EB green card. In fact, the standard is that the company that sponsors your H-1B proceeds to sponsor your EB green card application 6 months after resumption. The consular officers know this, so it's not a familiar or regular requirement unless the spouse applied for another category of visa other than H4, which is what I'm suspecting for that question to have come up.
You need to provide more information to determine what could have gone wrong. What embassy/consulate? Nigerian passport? are they legally married? If possible, the interview transcript. Let's be cautious about saying things like ..it is the standard for H1B holders to get sponsored for green card 6months after resumption. Thats not true and it can give false hopes That choice is your employer's who still have to provide labor cert for to do adjustment of status to employment based visa EBs EB visas already have backlogs and many H1B workers are still on that visa or considering other pathways |

Then look at your statement and th reasons for refusal. Look at it objectively and see if what the VO put is right. Do this before you make a new application. If this visit isn't necessary try another schengen country if you want to travel. All the best |

Damilare5882: Missed Document Review appointment
Hi guys , I am currently filing for my parents and they recently concluded thier Medicals few weeks ago . Today I decided to just check my mom’s email and I saw that they were invited for “Document Review “ which they already missed. Through out this process, me as the petitioner has always been Cc’ed in all emails by the embassy , not sure why I wasn’t this time , that’s why I missed it . Their interview is coming up in a week , what’s the way forward ? They attend the interviews with the necessary documents. Bare in mind due to the partial ban your parents won't be given the Immigrant visa. Once the ban is lifted then the embassy will ask them to return their passports for visas. They MUST attend their interview though |

There's no confusion Your parents won't be issued their immigrant visa after their interview due to the partial suspension on VISA ISSUANCE. However they must attend their interview As soon as the ban is lifted for immigrant visas they will be asked to bring their passports . They should attempt their interviews as normal. |

letskeeptalking: My parents were married for over 50 years until my dad passed. . But like every other couple, they had their issues. I saw love growing up, and that's how I know this is not it.
I mentioned before that back home I lived separately from him . . we had separate lives then too and I was 100% responsible for the kids. I still am in a way. I've always lived the life of a single woman even though I have been married. Back home he would go MONTHS without contacting me at all, or making any effort to see his kids. I had every opportunity to see other men if that's what I wanted, and he won't even know about it.
Just to be clear, I do not want to rekindle anything. Even if I stayed, it will not be because I'm interested in fixing the marriage, because I am not!
Can't you guys just trust that a woman knows what she wants, and not every woman is willing to mortgage her self respect in the name of marriage? Live for you, The reason you kept up this mirage was because you were in Nigeria. By staying you showed him that it was fine with you. You were you before, you will be you when you are married. Unfortunately this pretense is tiring for you. Separate and ease out the divorce. You don't have anything to hold on to. You'll be fine. Chose you, you were and are living separate and it's on obvious you have not had financial fidelity Your kids know who their Dad is Look for therapist that handles divorce and separation. Just to walk yourself through how you got here and what the future looks like. DM if you need recommendations Amicable divorces are possible, I hope yours would be |

U Vincad: Hi guys. I'm supposed to travel to Nigeria in June but my passport is expiring August 31st 2026.
So by the time I'll be traveling my passport will have less than 3 months validity. I've tried to renew it but the app for the contactless renewal is not working. The only other option is to travel to Ontario from Alberta which would cost me a whole lot more that than I'm willing to afford right now
I'm using KLM and will be going from Canada to Amsterdam to Nigeria.
Has anyone been in this situation before and do you know if KLM will allow me to board with my passport having about 2 and 1/2 months validity left. I plan to renew it in Nigeria before coming back No issue with traveling with less than 6months passport validity. You can even travel with expired passport. |

Mitan7: So I had my interview today, was unable to reschedule cause my payment was made in 2024 and it has expired. Literally no one was given a visa, old, young, family, couple...nobody and over 25 people were before me. The only people given while I was there were an Indian couple and I think it's because it's not a Nigerian passport. Their responses for everyone was that we do not qualify and there's a ban on nigerian passports. Even those going for conferences and 1 lady for f1 visa, we were all denied. I also noticed 2 family that were questioned for over 20mins for immigrant visas, they were not given. So my advice is that you wait till the ban is lifted, that was literally what we were all told. Good luck to everyone. Fortunately for those with immigrant visas because it is the consulate that schedules their interview date, once they are interviewed they won't be interviewed again So when the ban on immigrant visas is lifted they would just be asked to submit their passports. |

Kemo88: The aggression that day at the U.S. embassy was so palpable. They refused or banned everyone there , men, women, adults, and even children. It was ridiculous.
I think a major reason they are banning women who had kids in the U.S. is because a ban on your record means you cannot apply for any type of visa, and you certainly cannot apply for an immigrant visa (a green card or otherwise).
Don’t forget that as the parent of a U.S. citizen, it is only a matter of time …once your child turns 18 and has paid taxes for at least three years (making them 21) , before your child can file for a green card for you.
However, this becomes almost impossible if you have a permanent ban on your record. Typically a ban shouldn't prevent you getting an immigrant visa. Most bans are timed 3,5,10yrs. A permanent ban is typically for severe violations like crime, fraud misrepresentation. Why consulates would give permanent bans to those going for childbirth even if they didn't pay in full is way to aggressive. Payment plan and evidence of sticking to it should be enough or last last 3 yr nam |
