Malaria still kills, his life is important abeg

Which side of Iyana Oworo

You need to get to a bus that can drop you at 7up Tollgate.
Then you can cross the pedestrian bridge to the Ikeja side of the expressway. From there Daystar is a short walk. Daystar is on Ikosi road right next to gtbank

Good day everybody,
With this policy changes and all, I've been very restless on what happens when one finishing schooling in the US. What happens.
Are there ways one can remain in the country?
I currently work in an engineering firm here in Nigeria but I don't feel fulfilled. I want to go for my masters but the fear of the unknown. What if I quit my job here, finish schooling in the US. What next. Can I get a job to stay back?

Please someone should help me clear my doubts
Nothing is guaranteed, worst case scenario you calculate those risks and determine what you can afford to lose .

Even in Nigeria getting a job is not guaranteed.

I honestly don't think you have really really asked yourself why you're worried.
You want to immigrate through student route...you have lot of steps to pass through before you even start considering getting a job. Plus getting a job is not equal to getting to stay back.
Relax

Just don't burn all your bridges back in Nigeria and set a plan B or C..

Not everyone has the time to do it in person
Then make the time. if online doesnt work no one here works with NPC to troubleshoot why their site does not work even though you input the correct details.

You have the option of going inperson if online doesnt work for you
You will still do the passport process in person

Pls don't scare the OP or anyone that falls ill while travelling with a purported high bill, eventhough the fellow is Just on a visit, no bill will be incurred, that ist the essence of a travel insurrance which is a basic requirement for getting a Visa.

A basic travel insurrance covers all cost of treatment in case of illness.
Many many and many dont pay for travel insurance.

OP,
go to hospital emergency room and say you think you have a tropical disease Malaria, they will sort you out. Fee or no fee your health and your life is most important.

Has anyone had issues with the NC attestation portal? I tried doing it for my sister; her NIN was inputted, and it brought out all her details. The only thing we did was answer the required question. We double-checked details more than twice. It was submitted. Now after approval, we are seeing a difference in the middle name.

How is this even possible? After inputting her NIN, it automatically displayed her name and phone number.

Now here, the middle name and phone number are different from what was submitted. Please, how do I go about this?
You can also do this in person at any physical NPC office. Each state has one

I do follow up every year . Do petition is still active. Just didn’t submit documents and continue processing.
Okay so let me say this.
You have two options that I can see.

1. Continue with NVC and submit documents so her case can be documentarily qualified. You can check the the ne new Interview scheduling tool on DOS site i.e trave state.gov site.
You can indicate the consulate then the visa category.to say where they are are for scheduling interviews that are documented complete aka DQ.
Since your mum is IR you don't need the visa bulletin.

2. Your dad can file for her , time line might be the same as yours above

Bonus tip.
Either you or Dad can do 1 or 2 above but do Adjustment of status in the US.
Get your mum in the US on a visit visa and do the filing in the US.
Just tell mommy she could come and visit that's all.

Processing in the US could be done in about 6months.. Adjustment of status for IR is very plausible when done inside the US.

PS you must be an oldie, yes there was an older thread from immigrant visas reference to it is still on Page 1.
What was your username, I was on NL during that time especially when Visa officers were fully here with their own QnA threads. Those were the days

I have gone to 2 different branches before I traveled, they both said the same thing. They said that the CBN has given them directions to not change completely the full name on the BVN of any individual.. They insisted I should write a petition to the CBN myself.

I'm not even bothered anymore as my NIN and passport is all I need now. The only problem I have is I can't put money in my account in Nigeria because I won't be able to withdraw it.
Hmmm

You could find cbn contact email. I know they respond because i know a friend who took up her complaints about excess withdrawals from her bank to cbn and provided evidence and cbn took it up .

You're getting it wrongly bro. The IV scheduling tool is all about documentarily complete and not Priority date. All the cases that are dqed in March & April, 2023 would receive IL any moment from now.
Okay, I checked it. That being said your PD would still have to be reached before IL is given.

The IV scheduling tool that shows they are attending to cc of April, 2023 is wrong! I'm in March ending of 2023 and I also know another person with a case complete on 28th of March, 2023, yet neither her nor me has been scheduled for interview! So, who are the ghosts they are scheduling?
At this stage, I can't transfer my case to anywhere because it's going to set me back if I do.
And your PD has been reached?

Hello Nairalanders,
I’m a first-time applicant in the US graduate admission process, and I could really use some genuine advice from those who’ve been through it or have knowledge about US student visas (F-1). I’m applying for a PhD program with a Spring 2026 start, and things are moving quickly but tightly timed. Here’s my situation in detail:

• I recently had an interview with a potential Principal Investigator (PI) at the university, and it went well. He mentioned he’d give me a final decision by November 20, 2025 (I’m about 95% confident it’ll be positive, and it should come with funding).

• He also indicated that the official admission letter from the school would likely be released toward the end of November, around the 26th or 27th.

• The program’s resumption date is January 12, 2026.

• According to the school’s website, the I-20 form must be submitted at least one month before resumption, which means by December 12, 2025.

I have no prior experience with this process, so I’m unsure about the next steps and whether the timeline is realistic. Specifically:
1 I-20 and SEVIS Process: Once I get the admission letter (assuming end of November), how quickly can I expect the school to issue the I-20? Will I need to pay the SEVIS fee right after?
2 Visa Interview Booking: If I submit the I-20 and pay the SEVIS fee promptly (say, by early December), is it possible to secure a US visa interview date in December 2025 at the US Embassy in Lagos or Abuja? I’ve read here wait times can be long. What’s the current situation for F-1 visas, and are there emergency slots for Spring intakes?
3 Overall Feasibility: With the short window (admission letter late November → visa hopefully in December → travel before Jan 12), is it realistically possible to get the visa approved and travel in time? What are the risks, and how have others handled similar tight timelines? Any success stories or pitfalls to avoid?
Lastly abeg I need tips on the visa interview. Thanks in advance
When you get i20 and pay SEVIS fee, apply for emergency appointment. You'd include these docs to support that.

Yes timeline is tight.

Hello, good evening all. I got this NSF today for my son’s UK dependant visa application.

In his application, I submitted:
A DNA test result from a home office approved centre
A letter explaining that I lost the hospital birth certificate
Pregnancy appointments and scans
Post birth hospital records

What else can I submit in relation to this NSF?
Resubmit what you providedI guess

And then write a letter referencing the post birth hospital records, I would expect those records to indicate your child's birth date even if you lost the birth certificate.

DNA doesn't prove birth date,

I had to do the driving stuff because most jobs here requires you drive and a driver's license and most of them are in locations not in the line of buses and trains. They are as far as 20 to 50 miles. The city is too big.
Yea your city, a car is a necessity.

Intra company transfer is L1 for US other countries have a similar visas.

US you can use EB1 or EB3 if you qualify these typically require a job offer and are quicker.
EB2NIW Doesn't require a job offer but wait times are like 2 yrs plus in Nigeria.

It does not necessary means the asylum claim is fake.
When asylum is sought and given, that means it was established that there was a life threatening situation with the person wherever he or she is coming from, and the threat or risk still exists. Traveling back to that same place under asylum, nullifies this claim, this is under humanitarian law of the UN.
So it's fake
Would you go back to what threatens your life? It's grounds for canceling and revoking whatever benefits you got incl citizenship

Good afternoon House, please am new here,I will so much appreciate if some one can guide me,I want to DIY my international passport thankfully with all the thread have read so far I think I know where to start but my problem now is I don’t have any date of birth certificate and am seeing 2 websites attestation and national population commission which one suite my problem cos am confused and another problem is I want to change my date of birth on my NIN and BVN and I don’t want that error to reflect again on my Passport, what is the first step I need to take to correct my NIN and BVN Date of birth before going for Passport registration, please house help a brother.
Why would you need to to change your date of birth on NIN and BVN. Why would both of them be wrong

You date of birth is your date of birth.

Your NIN must match your BVN which is linked to your accounts.

Whatever anyone may have told you changing your date of birth for passport or visa purposes does not do anything for you. Nothing.
Better don't complicate your life

Hello everyone, please I need your advice.

I recently received a conditional offer from Anglia Ruskin University for the next intake, I actually applied for a UK student visa for the September intake earlier this year, but I was denied after the UKVI interview. The refusal wasn’t due to any fraudulent documents — it was mainly because I couldn’t clearly convince the consular officer of my study intentions. The decision letter only came through recently, about a week ago, so when I was applying to Anglia Ruskin University, I didn’t declare that I had been denied before, since at that time the refusal decision hadn’t officially been issued.

My question now is:
👉 Should I inform Anglia Ruskin University that I’ve had a previous visa refusal (and explain the situation), or
👉 Since I already have a conditional offer and I’m about to proceed with payment and CAS process, is there no need to mention it since this new application is with a different school and I’ve learned from my previous experience?
Please I need your advice guys
Thank you!
You would need to mention in your new student visa application

However I doubt your university admission process asked you to let know of any visa denials
