Ak4me: Okay, I agree with you but I want to ask 2 questions 1. What will be the faith of those that are scheduled for Interview in January and February 2026 respectively, will the interview still go ahead? 2. Also, will the embassy still send IL to any applicants that are current based on VB monthly. For Q1 Unless the consulate reschedule your dates to before Jan 1st, the consulate won't be able to issue the immigrant visa from Jan 1st 2026 Till the ban is lifted unfortunately , sigh |

Goodluck70000: The reason I ask is to get a reasonable amount because I have seen on this forum when someone was refused on the grand that 1300pounce for 7days visit is too small, and also I have seen a person has also be refused on the grand that his budget is too high . But context matters na. Budget depends on what it covers If someone else covers accommodation, feeding and travel cost then your personal costs would be less. If you're baring accommodation and deeding costs yourself because you booked hotel the your costs would be more than the example above. If you're traveling with children then more Then waaht part of the uk are you going. Further south close to London is way more expensive for rent , and travel annd tourism. Further up is cheaper. Lastly and most importantly how much of your persobal income are you spending on this trip. Iof you put an amount that is 3x of what you earn monthly (that you provided eveidence for) then it is not reasonable that you can afford the cost you put. |

MemoriesAndMe: What the new policy that changed it for Nigerians? I haven't read anything about it. Nigeria isn't listed in the countries affected by the visa ban, unless another list came out that added Nigeria. Several folks I know here are expecting visa dates for their spouses and no one has ever said a visa ban is ruining the process. There might be delays, but that's normal, not outright ban or denial Go to whitehouse.gov A new proclamation by President Trump released Dec 16 Added new countries including Nigeria for partial restriction travel ban This affects visitors, students and families migrating |

Danaza: My brother sorry about that oo I am also in same situation
I haven't been myself since yesterday that I read this. I'm a prospective graduate student planning to resume for fall 2026. I have spent money and put in alot of efforts, now all my dream of studying in the US has faded away.
I applied to more than 10 US schools and my recommenders submitted over 40 recommendations. All these efforts just in vain.
I have been depressed since yesterday. Don't be, this only affects visa issuance for trav l INTO the US. You have just started the admission process so this doesn't affect you Depression means it's a consistent medical condition over long period of time You are not depressed, you are sad. Travel bans are reconsidered every 180 days at the most. That's June 2026 by then you can expect changes to this ban. |

hallysonia: I also have another F2 interview scheduled for January 5th. It is well.
Do you think rescheduling to December 2025 makes sense?
Waiting until after the ban takes effect is very risky. For instance, my January 5th interview will almost certainly be canceled, and I will then attempt to schedule a new appointment during the active suspension. So, I think it may be better to move the appointment to a date before the ban begins (i.e., in December 2025).
Any thoughts on this? If you happen to see a December date I'd say do so Consulate can not issue F2 visas from Jan1 2026. Its a travel ban for entry to the US Its really sad cos even those who are students and their F1 visas have expired, they can not renew their visas in their home countries because visa won't be issued. |

I do hope US Lagos consulate is kind and reschedules Jan interviews for Dec 2025 for immigrant visas.
For those who have options of residency in countries that are not on the travel ban, you might want to consider relocation.
Travel bans are typically reviewed every180 days, the last travel ban proclamation was in June 2025. |

Yes you have your Green Card, however it's not an end of itself.. it's still a privilege Pls stay out of trouble Don't Drink and Drive Volunteer in your community - be of good moral character. , this counts towards citizenship. This current administration has way more scrutiny on immigrants even with your green card.
Lastly, there's always work in the US regardless of your education level. Also opportunities exist to learn at your pace
One more thing, you can live anywhere so if you don't like the city you landed in you can move.
There's a thread for living in the USA as an immigrant. You can post questions there |

Mide16272: Good morning sir/ma, I’ll love to share my own passport process experience incase for anyone that need it DIY is the best in order to avoid been extort by those officers. I started the 64 pages online application (October) and I made the payment on 26th, October too. I book my biometrics appointment on the 4th, November. Although prior to this time my application form hasn’t changed to vetted but still showing awaiting approval till that very day of biometrics. After I saw some explanation on here that I can go and it’ll be vetted at their office immediately. On that faithful day, I left home early to Oke Mosan Passport Office. On getting there I ask for the servicom desk, I met a young officer there he collected my documents and checked it. He immediately ask who’s doing it for me but I said I did it myself. He smiled and directed me to the main servicom office where I met another officer. He collected my form, appointment paper and receipt too. He scanned it with his phone and only asked where am I from? And nothing else. He told me I’ll have to pay for administrative fee of 5k I just smile at him and asked him some questions in respect too. I asked where’s it written on the site? I told him I’ll put a call to my uncle who’s an immigration officer. I told him I can’t pay any money sir. He look at my face and ask what am I saying I respond I can’t pay any money. After a while he stamp my file and staple it together, he asked me to go and sit upstair. While I was waiting for miracle, DIY. The man keep calling numbers and I think mine was 89 so I was thinking till evening not knowing that they’re already calling number 45. I sat down looking as people are moving in with there officer. I bought table water and gala to chill my body. After a while the officer calling names called my number and said my money hasn’t dropped but I didn’t panic sha. He said maybe the service. He went inside again after some minutes came outside and said I can go in for my biometrics. I walked in like a freedom fighter and did everything within the space of 10mins. The officer that did the capturing for me jokingly asked me for anything i smiled and gave her 1k because she was friendly and jovial to me during the process. Same as another man that asked me to buy malt for him but I told him I’m not working yet immediately he pray for me and said I can go but I gave him 500, he smiled. He told me to keep checking my Gmail that I’ll get a notification when my passport is ready for pick. It’s over 5 weeks yesterday now since I did the capturing nothing yet and I keep tracking it online and checking my email too. Although I paid for home delivery too. The collection date on the paper was painted black with a marker so I was told not to follow that. Please can I go back to Oke Mosan Passport Office to check whether it’s ready or I keep wait till I get notification…is there anyone that know how fast is issuing passport in Oke Mosan Passport Office. Do it your own is Gbam Just go there and say you came for collection. You can then go to the office where you paid for delivery. Usually passports are ready under ,4 weeks. |

promami: People say this things and make it look like someone was threatened or were caged. The issue of blood transfusion or any other Bible related instructions are issues of conscience. As far as I know in JW, nobody will threaten you with disfellowship with something that you also have to decide on. After all, everyone answers to God directly. If she, out of her respect to God says she won't accept blood as explicitly warned against in the Bible because she's believes the Bible, that should be respected. This is not about religion. This is about someone demonstrating faith in her convictions. That aside, medical technology has evolved so much that top doctors now warn against blood transfusion because of the obvious side effects that comes with it. When people drag JWs over a member's decision, they make it look like those people were compelled to make those decisions. Nobody gets compelled to do anything. It's solely an individual thing. Because they are compelled, you might need to find out how militant these districts can be, they will disfellowship you as someone put it. For members whom their social circle is JW that's a no deal. Either ways Cancer is a big monster to tackle even with the best medical advice. Maybe months later you can rejoin PS, for those who desire not to have blood transfusion they might want to spend there time improving their blood levels as part of their daily routine. From your experience, is CPTs connected to visa denials? And for the POF, it’s not a problem at all. I just wanna do 30 calendar dates duration and print out statement without showing the deposits, do you think that would fly pls? Like I said it is your school that will tell you what they need for proof of your ability to pay not anyone here. |

KingDeity: Thanks for the tips. You sound very knowledgeable about how they operate, like bruv, you good
Anyways, the same course that I was denied visa studying(Nursing) was the same course I later studied back in Nigeria, after which I practiced in Nigeria, left for the UK, and I’ve been practicing as a UKRN. My sibling is here in the UK and I have a full time job. And honestly I don’t know how to answer questions regarding my previous denials, cos Mehn I don’t know why I was even denied visa the previous time. I answered all my questions correctly, yet I got denied back to back.
Then the second question I have is regarding to the choice of my program. Someone told me(however I don’t know how truthful it is) that going for MSc Nursing with CPT has high denial rate, that I should use a program that doesn’t have CPT and I use any health related program, that when I get to the USA, I can switch program with another school. Please how feasible is this?
Thanks alot Can you switch schools in the US ? Yes that is you have enough time to get admission in the other school Then about high rate of denial unless that source has verifiable proof then ... That a school offers CPT doesn't mean you have to use it. How do you intend to find your MSc? That the real issue. Your school will ask for your proof of funds that will be indicated on your i20. That's what the visa officer will see , be ready to respond to any deficit indicated there on the i20 Unlike the UK where you submit bank documents as part of your application for the US student visa application your funding is what the school will ask before giving you i20. |

One peculiar thing was noticed, I think UKVI now sends email that can help you know whether or not you have gotten the visa. I got sent an email saying that their records shows that I was recently granted a visa and that I should link an e-visa. This email came before I even knew what the outcome was. It came after vfs sent “decision made” email. I think this change is from the recent development that from Nov 2025(I think if you are granted a visa on or after), even visitors will start switching to e-visas. I was sent this and 3days after, I received my passport with my visa in it Yes visit visas would transit to Evisas now |
