ABUJA — STRONG indications have emerged that
tomorrow’s plenary session, where the Senate
would unveil the ministerial list sent by President
Muhammadu Buhari, may be stormy as senators
are saying the President must, in line with the
constitution, submit himself before the Upper
Chamber for screening if he appointed himself
Minister of Petroleum.
They are also set to reject an incomplete list,
saying the constitution provides for a nominee
from each state of the federation and that any
list that did not cover the 36 states would suffer
serious opposition on the floor of the Senate.
The senators have also vowed that they would
not be cowed by the trial of Senate President, Dr.
Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal,
CCT, just as they promised to adopt stringent
measures in line with the provisions of the
Constitution during the screening of ministerial
nominees.
They added that the tradition of take-a-bow for
senators coming for screening as ministers would
be jettisoned, adding that they were prepared to
send names of nominees to the sender of such a
list.
Senate President, Dr. Saraki, is currently facing
trial at CCT, following a 13-count charge levelled
against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB,
bordering on alleged corruption and false
declaration of assets in 2003 and summoned him
to appear before it, which he did. |

In 1982 Mpagi Edward Edmary, a Ugandan taxi
driver, was sentenced to death for the brutal
murder of his neighbour. But not only was
Edward an innocent man, there hadn’t even been
a murder. Edward had been framed after a land
dispute between families in the village got out of
hand.
Witnesses were bribed to say they had seen him
kill the man and dispose of the body. He spent
the next 20 years in Kampala’s notorious Luzira
prison and was only released when his family
proved that the dead man had been hiding out in
another part of the country.
As Edward says, “In Uganda, conditions for death
row prisoners are cruel, degrading, and inhumane.
We were always denied medicines. There were
lice, flies, and other vermin in the prison, and this
resulted in many illnesses – and many prisoners
died from these illnesses.
In 1984 my brother developed malaria and
stomach complications because of inadequate
food and skin conditions. I pleaded with the
prison authorities to give my brother medication
and treatment.
However, they told me that we were brought to
death row to face death, that it was a waste of
taxpayer’s money to treat him. My brother died in
1985. This really scared me.
Life is terrible on death row in Uganda, Africa. No
one was ever given any notice that they would be
executed. Each time we were taken by complete
surprise. We lived in complete fear of any unusual
activity from the wardens.
During my stay in prison there were five rounds
of executions. The last one was in 1999 in which
the state executed 28 prisoners.
The coffins for the prisoners to be executed were
made in the prison. During the three days before
executions, we could all hear the making of the
coffins. The black hoods and clothes for prisoners
to be executed were made by other prisoners. We
knew how many people were to be executed by
counting the number of hoods being made.”

WARNING!!!!!! Leave my child alone. Yes! I know
your parents were able to afford paying your
tuition to leave the shores of NIGERIA to one of
those lame Universities in some unknown town in
Eastern Europe, so you can return with some
strange certificate as a "Medical Doctor".... Now,
this is not the ISSUE! My grievance is that you
are misleading my baby into believing that
NIGERIA does not have good Universities. You
play on her self esteem and make her go behind
my back to beg people for money and she got
rapped some weeks back when she went to
collect some dollars from an UNDERSTANDING
MAN who promised to help. She could not tell me
cos she knew it would kill me if I knew. Now I
know and in a sad way, cos her lab test results
reads POSITIVE to an incurable illness. Who ever
told you that you will be better than my child just
cos you experienced winter and wild drugs in
Europe all in the name of going to school. Who
told you our graduates here can't excel. Even our
drop outs do well in business. Go online and read.
Please face your own and LEAVE MY CHILD
ALONE. We eat Garri for breakfast so we can be
strong enough ahead of the brighter future
waiting for us. I WARN YOU!!!!! I am the
Soulfather and I will teach you some common
sense if you don't back off!!!!!

One fruit that everyone should eat religiously is Watermelon, the benefits to your health and many: Watermelon contains thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, choline, lycopene and betaine. According to the National Watermelon Promotion Board, watermelon contains more lycopene than any other fruit or vegetable. One cup of diced watermelon contains 43 calories, 0 grams of fat, 2 grams of sodium, 11 grams of carbohydrate (including 9 grams of sugar and 1 gram of fiber) and 1 gram of fiber. One cup of watermelon will provide 17% of vitamin A, 21% of vitamin C, 2% of iron and 1% of calcium needs for the day. Many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like watermelon decreases the risk of obesity and overall mortality, diabetes, heart disease and promotes a healthy complexion and hair, increased energy, overall lower weight. ABUJA- SENATE President Bukola Saraki has
denied reports that he was attacked Thursday
when he went to pray as part of activities to
mark this year’s Eid- El Kabir.
A statement from his media office yesterday
read: “The attention of the Media Office of the
Senate President has been drawn to media
reports that the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar
Bukola Saraki, was allegedly attacked at the Eid
Prayer Ground during the prayers to mark the Eid-
el-Kabir in Ilorin.
“The Senate President arrived at the venue this
morning without any incident, prayed with other
Muslim faithful, including the Emir of Ilorin, His
Royal Highness (HRH), Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu
Gambari, Speaker of the Kwara State House of
Assembly, Rt. Hon Ali Ahmad and a former Chief
Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Alfa Belgore,
among others.
“Before the Senate President left the prayer
ground, he spoke to reporters who had asked him
about his message for Nigerians to mark the Eid-
el-Kabir.
“We want to say that nothing can be further from
the truth as the Senate President was never
attacked nor was there any attempt made on his
life to warrant him being ‘whisked away’ as
reported by a section of the media.
“We however observe that there was a protest
allegedly staged by local government employees
over purported non-payment of salaries which
hoodlums attempted to hijacked but this
development was immediately curtailed by
security agents.
“Therefore, to say that the Senate President was
attacked at the venue of the prayers is totally
false and a figment of the imagination of those
behind the story because the protest was never
targeted at him, neither was any missile hurled at
him.
“The Kwara State Government has since issued a
statement in which it stated that majority of the
workers in the state have received their salaries
and that those yet to receive theirs will do so on
Monday as Thursday and Friday of this week are
public holidays.” |
On this historic day 28years ago,Gen Badamosi Babangida created Akwa Ibom State out of Cross River State along with Katsina State. That heralded a new dawn for a people uniquely positioned by God to set the pace. This State has produced many exceptional personalities in all spheres of endeavour who have blazed the trail and set a standard for others to follow. But for so many years,we were deprived of our rights, relegated to the background and despised by the committee of States due to poor image portrayal and representation. Nollywood even made matters worse. But the emergence of our last two governors,Obong Victor Attah and Chief Godswill Akpabio(especially),totally changed the face of Akwa Ibom State and launched us into global relevance. Now people all over the world reckon with Akwa Ibom State, she has become a destination of choice and has regained her respect among the committee of States. Today with millions of Akwa Ibomites globally i raise to the faith that Akwa Ibom State is destined to be great. Mme # Dakkada nda. I will join thousands of Akwa Ibomites at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium to celebrate the birth of my state. I'm proud to be an Akwa Ibomite. The rise and fall of Bukola Saraki......
Saraki left the PDP for personal reasons...... not
because he wanted CHANGE. This is evident in
his behaviour since APC became victorious.
APC trusted Saraki, jilted Belgore just to please
Saraki. APC asked both Belgore and Lai
Mohammed to relinquish the state leadership to
Saraki. While Lai choicelessly agreed, Belgore left
APC because 'I can never be in the same party
with Saraki talk less of him leading me'..... Raji
Fashola spoke and appealed to his bosom friend
Belgore not to leave APC but the latter sought
Fashola's understanding on the fact that Saraki is
not a human being and that APC will regret
having Saraki in its fold.
APC openly celebrated Saraki. Saraki nominated
every single political appointment in Kwara...... he
took over the structure of the APC in Kwara.
APC narrowly won Kwara with just over 100,000
votes above the PDP.
Race for Senate Leadership began. This slot
would have naturally gone to the SE had Ngige or
other experienced APC senatorial candidate won,
but APC NASS conflict's foundation was laid by
the rejection of the party in the SE!
Therefore, 3 major lucky contenders were jostling
for the Senate President position...... Lawan from
NE, Saraki and Akume from NC, all wanted to fill
the vacuum created by the SE. Buhari and APC
preferred Lawan from the NE instead of Tinubu's
friend Akume and Atiku's choice Saraki.
Tinubu being a smart man quickly asked his
friend Akume to step down for the Party's and
President's choice Lawan. Akume, another
reasonable politician, agreed! Tinubu is not just a
driver, he also know when to accelerate and when
to march the brake!!!!!!! Atiku and Saraki kept on
accelerating even when it was obvious that the
duo have approached the zebra crossing!!!! A
warrior that knows how to fight that does not
know how to run when necessary will eventually
perish in the battlefield!
Saraki and his pushers became arrogant and
resolute to disgrace the APC and the President ....
All appeals by leaders of their party did not hold
water. Saraki said he wanted due process......
therefore, the party organized a primary election
to please him...... Saraki lost the election and
instead of staying within his team and agreeing
with the APC Senators' decision, he betrayed the
APC and teamed up with the PDP to steal the
hard earned victory of the APC through the back
door. He wanted Senate President even if heavens
will fall. He eventually stole it while 95% of his
colleagues were away, he joined the PDP to
ridicule CHANGE. He did not stop there, he made
the PDP Deputy SP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What wickedness
What a deadly traitor ??
The party was battling with the humble pie and
sought further reconciliation by asking Saraki to
give other leadership positions left to its preferred
choices, at least to calm nerves and save the
party from national disgrace... but Saraki once
again injured the party and announced his own
preferred choices behaving like 'IGE ADUBI' who
cares less whether or not his mother or father
died on the day of his birth!
The intention of Saraki became very clear to
APC...... he wants APC to fail, be disgraced and
destroyed...... he has gone back to his former
husband... PDP. But the concern of Buhari is
different from the APC's... Buhari wants to
eradicate corruption but how can Kwara
Corruption King lead from the senate Number
one priority of Buhari administration has been
ambushed by thieves from the NASS... Buhari, a
soldier and a war-tested veteran will not give up
the fight to eradicate corruption in Nigeria. His
preference for Lawan has nothing to do with
politics but with policies!
Saraki obviously has constituted himself to be a
clog in the wheels of CHANGE. He has become
the arrow head of Business as Usual in a
government of CHANGE! Therefore his book of
remembrance was opened. His judgement became
expedient... Since he wanted to be one of leaders
in the government of Change, he must be
thoroughly searched. Buhari the first leader has
been searched. Osinbajo the second leader has
been searched.... So why will Saraki the 'third'
leader avoid search![]() You cannot eat your
cake and have it!!!!!
For those who said why saraki? Saraki wants to
be number three and therefore, his cupboards
must be opened; we must know his condition and
fitness... if he passed this current test, then
CHANGE will admit him but if he fails......CHAN
GE will purge him........
This is not a joke! CHANGE has come to Nigeria
and he who must come to equity must come with
clean hands! And that is what we mean by
Common Sense Revolution!

September 16, 2015 at 8:15 pm in vangard News A mild drama occurred at the Akwa Ibom National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday in Abuja when one of the witnesses of former governor Godswill Akpabio, Mr. Stanley Annah from Ikot Ekpene dramatically pretended to be blind when given the card reader report to state the total number of accredited voters for Ikot Ekpene . Mr Annah who told the tribunal that elections held in all the polling units of the council suddenly pretended to be blind and mute when told to read out the total number of accredited voters for Ikot Ekpene on exhibit P19. “I can’t see anything, I can’t read,” he said. When asked if truly he is a graduate of agriculture as he claimed, he said yes but still can’t read the figures in the document. He also claimed he had no idea of the number of polling units in Ikot Ekpene. After minutes of vain attempt to evade the question, he reluctantly read out 22,761 as the total number of accredited voters for Ikot Ekpene. He had also earlier declared he can’t see nor read the total number of votes cast in the Local Government. Before exiting the witness box, counsel to the 1st Respondent, Offiong Offiong SAN, asked the court to protect witnesses from vigorous cross examination from the petitioners counsel, Chief Assam Assam SAN. Responding the tribunal chairman said while the court cannot force a witness to answer a question ,there are legally bound to answer questions posed to them at cross examination while the tribunal will take note of witnesses who claim in their statement on oath that they are graduates but pretend they can’t read when inside the witness box. Also testifying, Hon Uyoata Essien from Etim Ekpo said elections held in his area in a free and fair manner. He was given the card reader report of his unit which stood at 485 for polling unit Nkwot Ikot Eboh but when given the result sheet he signed as PDP agent, he admitted that though his signature is the one on the document, he can’t confirm if actually the 772 declared as total number of accredited voters was true or not. |
