omonnakoda: What are the policies, exactly? Tell us just ONE policy he introduced that was NOT there before

Alhaji Dangote who led the team from his company, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria and Nigeria’s leading banks had earlier told the President that they were at the Presidential Villa to thank him for his administration’s policies which have greatly encouraged further investments in Nigeria.

“Your policies have helped us greatly. Without them, we will not be where we are today,” the President of the Dangote Group told President Jonathan.

Thank you very much! Reading their posts, especially Mr Insincere, one would think this was a brainchild of the FG. A business man is making a business decision and we are supposed to give GEJ credit for it! These clowns are just super daft!!!

at least give Gej credit for making the policies that made dangote take the decision

i heard this on the radio this morning but it difficult to believe tho the presenter said he confirmed it from the police. and when i googled it now , i saw it on this link: http://forums.habanaija.com/showthread.php?11074-Unbelievable-Woman-commits-suicide-because-husband-couldn-t-afford-iPad!

sometime early last month, the wife of the security guy in our church attempted suicide because she wanted to watch home video and her husband changed the channel to NTA.

Just wondering if its true that women think from their hearts and not from their brain.....

GraphicsPlus:

I have studied and analyzed this infamous move of Atiku and his boys and considered the event and possible resultant effects. By this, I see the birth of infamous 'new PDP' as clear signs of GEJ's shortest cut to Aso Rock unhindered. It is totally clear that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the nation's electoral umpire will NEVER recognize 'the new PDP' and its leadership making it impossible to field-in candidate in 2015 election. Again, with Atiku as leader with presidential ambition under this unpopular platform, and if it later leads to Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM chaired by one of Atiku's aides, which will actually be the end of the road that leads to nowhere near presidential villa come 2015. In the other hand, the major opposition to the GEJ's and PDP, All Progressives Congress, APC is already in internal squabbles over who flies the party's flag in the 2015 presidential election. In this case, the old trojan horse, the 'professional' presidential candidate of all seasons, Gen. Mohammed Buhari and others of northern extraction are already on ground to tear the zone (North) in pieces to the advantage of PDP.

Atiku has just made the greatest mistake in his political career by trying to factionalize PDP. He has failed to understand that what this means for him and his governor boys is that they are sitting on the fence.

u forgot that it can be dangerous for a party to have faction. when both produces a flag bearer, which of them will inec accept. only the court can decide and u know how long it takes for the court to decide in nigeria. even when the court decides the unfavoured faction can appeal until it gets to supreme court. so a fictionalized party may end up not producing a candidate.

Sincere 9gerian: Fear fear governors. I thought they would have been bold enough to walk out of the party and join APC or form another party. But in the end, fear no gree dem. What they've simply done is just like a lady or child crying just to be noticed. It doesn't make any sense.

Meanwhile, I hate to say this but it is clear that all these happening simply because GEJ, the leader of PDP, is from minority tribe. Sometimes, I wonder what would have happened to GEJ by now if not that atleast the Igbos have stood by him. This president has not committed any sin, except his tribe. If anything, atleast, this is the first time we'r having purposeful leadership in this country. While OBJ ran the opposition out of business, GEJ allowed free and fair elections, thereby increasing the politicals control of the opposition, in terms number of states and legislative seats. But what does GEJ get in return, its more attacks and more attacks. Very very unfortunate indeed.

that makes me wonder if Machiavelli is right in his teachings about power

You are correct.
Nigeians will empty their waste products in the gutters when its raining. when the drainage gets blocks and the environment becomes dirty, they will complain about the govt.
Nigerians will push political office holders to steal govt fund, and still complain about corruption and bad economy.
Nigerians will sponsor their children to exam specials centres where they engage in exam malpractice and still come and complain about poor education system.
Nigerians will ignore indecent dressing and behaviors from their children and still complain about indiscipline in the society.

Infact, i recommend that every nigerian citizen should have 1 or 2 police officers to monitor his or her activities 247 if we want to make good progress in this country.

Sincere 9gerian: Thank God, here our own transformer is within someones compound.

This is just to show you that Nigerians are the greatest enemy of Nigeria. You solve one problem, the mostly evil Nigerians create another 2 problems. They come here and complain of lack of power, corruption, bad governance, and crude oil theft, bla, bla but they themselves are thieves, irresponsible, unpatriotic, criminal minded, and evil.

Anyway, I hope this thread makes front page so people can become more aware and guard whatever is remaining. What a shame!

How about the South East that gas never produced a president before?

APC may present a south-east presidential candidate, may be Rochas Okorocha. That wld change the game.

Considering the present situation. Why are the governors rebelling against Gej. Is it because he is not performing well? I dont think so. The governors feel deceived by Gej who promised or made them believe he will rule for only one tenure. This wld be a double cheat on the north, 1. They cld not complete their 2 tenures under Yar' Adua. 2. Gej deceived them with 1 tenure to get their support.

james_ibor: Contrary to the general notion here that the formation of this new party will weaken GEJ's chances of winning the next presidential elections, the opposite is actually the case as these new parties ie APC, PDM and the one being fronted by these set of governors are much likely to field Northern candidates thereby splitting northern votes among the various northern candidates and leaving GEJ to carry the day.

What if they decide field a southern presidential candidate? the best thing for Goodluck Jonathan to do now is to forget about 2015, if not pdp will lose power.

Sincere 9gerian:
No. It takes a focused, firm, intelligent, creative and credible leadership to build strong institutions (note leadership as used here refers to leaders at various levels, including the president). A leadership that would, within the spheres of its control, ensures that the right thing is done and that round pegs are put in round holes. For instance, no matter how powerful the president is, he cannot pass any law to strengthen any institution except he carries the NASS along. The president cannot send anyone to prison except the court convicts the person. And what does it take to get quick convictions or justice in the courts? Strong judiciary. What does it take to have strong judiciary? Reforms of the justice system, including amendments of the laws. And so on and so forth

So, what stops our focused, firm, intelligent, creative and credible leader and president from initiating the amendments that wld establish a strong institution in this country. Don't tell me he can't initiate it and see it happen.
Religion / "God Does Not Exist" by takeprofit: 7:12pm On Aug 23, 2013
A man went to a barber shop to have his hair
cut and his beard trimmed, as the barber
began to work, they started a good
conversation; they talked about so many
things and various subjects. When they
eventually touched the subject of God, the
barber said: “I don’t believe that God exists.”
“Why do you say that?” asked the customer.
The barber said; “Well you just have to go out
in the street to realize that God doesn’t exist;
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many
sick people? Would there be abandoned
children? If God existed, there would be
neither suffering nor pain. I can’t imagine a
loving God who would allow all of these
things.” The customer thought for a moment,
but didn’t respond because he didn’t want to
start an argument. The barber finished his
job and the customer left the shop. Just after
he left the barber shop, he saw a man in the
street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an
untrimmed beard; He looked dirty and
unkept. The customer turned back and
entered the barber shop again and said to
the barber; “You know what? Barbers do not
exist.” "How can you say that?" asked the
surprised barber. “I am here, and I am a
barber, and I just worked on you!” “No!” the
customer exclaimed. “Barbers don't exist
because if they do, there would be no people
with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside.” The barber said; “Ah,
but barbers DO exist; what happens is, people
don't come to me.” “Exactly”- affirmed the
customer; “That’s the point.” God too, DOES
exist; But what happens is, people don’t go to
Him and do not look for him.

nuclearboy: @OP:

Are u in Nigeria at all?

You are totally insincere to suggest there's political reasons behind these strikes! What I'd expect a literate person to do is talk with people to guage what's on their minds! I was at FMC Abeokuta last week and overheard part of a conversation! It went something like "government officials are despoiling the economy, giving themselves billions and stealing the rest that meant for 170 million" one person said she saw PEJ's convoy and wondered how much was spent on fuel alone whist she bought 300 (three hundred) Naira fuel into her beat up car that morning and has to feed 5 children on a ridiculous salary! Since that conversation, the FMCs have joined the strike!

A university professor hears of a 30 mill take home for NASS members who then oppress his children (sleeping with his daughters)! He sees Mrs Jonathan in a 400 vehicle convoy, spraying money (that comes from where) on praise dancers employed to sing to her, gets stuck in traffic for 6 hours because she "wants" to leave Abuja and visit his city in PH, hears of 800 million going towards food, watched a 500 million Naira thanksgiving service for returning from the dead, knows that a table of politicians in abuja shraton will drink 2 or 3 bottles of champagne each costing 1.2 million (per bottle) with his daughter sitting on the lap of an illiterate older than himself!

Then he remembers under all this profligacy, that there is an existing agreement that will allow him provide a better life for his daughter and hold back his son from being frustrated!

But you, a govt apologist, now comes to judgement screaming "it is political and greedy" - why not ask those who drink million Naira bottles of champagne what giving up such wastage will cost them? Does PEJ need praise dancers at 10K per head wherever she goes? The ankara with GEJs face - is it her salary that paid for that? The hundreds of cars and fuel they burn - does she pay for that? Does she really need a presidential jet for "visiting" friends?

Would university professors see a tempered reasonable way of life from the first family yet request for such? Could anyone have seen Buharis lifestyle in 1984 and made such demands?

Don't blame the people asking for a better share (life)! Its the Iweala's for whom wastage applies only when its others that you should speak to! Them and your man who has taken wastage, profligacy and a culture of impunity to the point of insanity, where decency no longer applies!

Very correct. When the leaders have the exclusive right to lavishly spend the resources of this nation, what shall the led do if not to ask for more and go on strike?
