Politics / How Amaechi Was Re-elected by takeprofit: 2:22am On May 25, 2013
By Sony Daniel, Regional Editor, North and Henry Umoru
After many weeks of intrigues and horse-trading, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State was re-elected as the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, beating his lone rival, Jonah Jang of Plateau State.

It was even an anticlimax that Jang ended up as Amaechi’s sole challenger, having not been in the frame throughout the preparations for the tensed vote.

But Saturday Vanguard learnt that the failure of the series of meeting held to resolve the disagreement over who should challenge Amaechi from pro-Jonathan camp, paved the way for Amaechi’s victory.

The People’s Democratic Party had settled for Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State to run against Amaechi and made it clear to its campaign managers that the governor was its preferred candidate

However, the Katsina state Governor, Ibrahim Shema, who insisted he had earlier been tipped by the Presidency for the same contest, refused to step down for Yuguda.

Reliable sources confirmed to Saturday Vanguard that spirited efforts made to persuade Shema to see reasons and step down for Yuguda, failed even after the Northern Governors Forum and the PDP Governors Forum had met and pleaded with him.

Angered by the insistence of Shema to run, the NGF meeting, which met earlier at the Niger State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, excused him and his Bauchi counterpart from the meeting and opted to push Jang to run.

It was gathered that upon their return to the meeting of the NGF, both Shema and Yuguda were asked to stand down and vote for Jang as the candidate of the north.

At the enlarged meeting of the PDPGF held at Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge also in Asokoro, Jang was subsequently presented as the ‘anointed’ candidate of the party to confront Amaechi.

A source said that as soon as Yuguda was forced to leave the contest, it was all clear to them that Amaechi would beat Jang, who was not in the picture at all.

”Honestly, it was a big disappointment to see the way the whole game went because Jang was not in the frame and those who decided at the last minute to draft him into the contest should be made to explain what they wanted to achieve.

”What has happened now is a big slap to our own camp and it is a shame that things went that way because some people believe that they understand politics more than others,” the source said.

Announcing the results of the ballot, the Director-General, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Asishana Bayo Okauru disclosed that Governor Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari of Zamfara was unanimously voted in as the Vice Chairman, following the withdrawal of Governor Olusegun Mimiko from the race.

All the 36 governors except that of Yobe State, Ibrahim Gaidam were present and the election was through secret ballot.

An elated Amaechi while accepting the outcome of the election, said there was no victor and no vanquished but thanked his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him.

One day i asked my chinese supplier to help me pay for something from a US owned website with paypal. he told me the chinese govt does not allow him to buy things outside china. he must look for that thing or its alternative within china. i felt like a fool buying things from him.
Webmasters / Re: Should Facebook And Twitter Pay Tax In Nigeria? by takeprofit: 1:39am On May 24, 2013
The only way it can happen is to tax nigerians that want to advertise on facebook or twitter. the nigerian govt can partner with mastercard or visacard for that. btw nigerians web developers are good enough to have their own social network that wld attract americans to come and advertise in. why must everything worldwide thing be owned by americans?

If you like wipe off the whole northerners, it would never restore peace to this broken country until u tell that scumbag to vacate the office.

So, thats why u started killing innocent people?

ewet:
Its not sufficcient to just ban the almajiri system. All the Senate president has succeeded in doin is merely making political statements. Let him follow words with action by leading the campaign and seein tht this problem is solved during his tenure. This is a socio-cultural phenomenum of this people. the social structure of the northerners is built on this caste system.

The question is how do you tackle this decadence that has lived with the people for centuries. There belief systems is skewed in favour of this system tht is threatening us now.

How will the govt re-socialize this teeming army of jobless, unskilled and helpless children.

Rochas Okorocha has got the solution. others need to join him

You see the the outcome of treating terrorists with kids glove. Now more energy has to be spent treating this when it wld have been nipped in the bud at the early stage.

Now can see what obj was seeing when he said gej was treating them with kids gloves. and gej has been playing with them until now

You can see the outcome of having a porous border.

You can see the outcome of not having any system of identifying the citizens of ur country. not knowing who they are and what they do.

You see the outcome of leaving ignorant minds to be brainwash with anti-national ideologies in the name of religion, politics or whatever.

You can see the outcome of having a constitution that does not stipulate which part of the country a president should come from and how many terms each region must serve.

This campaign should not just end in dealing with the with military force in the 3 states. preventive measures shld be taken

So they claim.

However, intaforex can be considered an STP broker. Because if your trade larger lots, I understand that they "can" push your order to the interbank network but for smaller lots you're basically paired with other clients or they're hedging against you.

Some large MMs however, sometimes pool together a large order size from their clients and place it on the interbank network (i.e for example, if they have several clients opening "buy" positions on the EUR/USD, they can pool all the little micro-lot orders into something reasonable).

Now, so long as you do your analysis correctly, your trades will result in profit - this is the main aim here.

The only bad aspect with MMs in general is that the ability for them to manipulate a lot of things since they create the market - if they want to. But a good number of them are reputable and don't engage in any shady tricks. That's why you must research your broker before opening a Live account.

MT5 is just a platform, like MT4.
So, which broker do u recommend. i hear someone talk about xemarkets. i hear hotforex. exness. forex=metal. markets.com .... so many of them

Like seriously? Are you for real here?

"Betting against so many other traders, investment banks" What? You have no idea how MMs operate, do you (or even the Foreign Exchange Market in general)? Do you even know the various types of brokers available? Do you trade or you're just "speculating"? Don't misinform people.

There is NO central forex market, know and understand that.

Forex Brokers, which are not Market Makers, operate either a Straight Through Processing (STP) or an Electronic Communications Network (ECN) These types of brokers I'd recommend to anyone who's serious about trading forex - only bad thing though is, they often require large "minimum funding capital".

Market Makers are dealing desks who create positions against your trades. The broker provides the liquidity. Your orders are never quoted on the interbank market, simply because the Broker IS the market. Most times the larger MMs, pair your trades - i.e they pair you with another of their customer on the opposite end of your trade.

All these brokers that let you deposit $100 and all those are nothing short of Market Makers. Now, I'm not saying MM's are a terrible choice (esp. if you don't have enough capital to trade with an ECN broker), I'm just saying you understand the underlying operation. It is possible for your broker to manipulate things to their favor, from price to feeds, etc.

Surely there are good MMs out there, but there are those who engage in lots of shady actions. Hence I'd recommend an ECN broker (if you're able to ply that route).

If you can't get an ECN broker, you're better off with an STP broker. I'm low on adrenaline so I can't type a longer post to explain exhaustively how the forex market works for those here who may not know but I believe I've touched a few points.

.

They are trying to stretch the Army

The Government and the Army should continue the programme of destroying their bases and retaking communities in the North East where Boko Haram run the show.

Nobody says the Government tactics will work overnight. This is a battle of resolves and a lot of it is mental.

Government must continue its campaign in the North East, over-run Boko Haram camps and then secure our boarders.

The long term strategy will be to institute a very shadowy counter terror unit that will use all sorts of deadly methods including poisoning, assasination, and all methods within the powers of the Government to systematically eliminate the leaders of Boko Haram and their financiers.

Government must also look into issues like monitoring suspicious financial transactions and movement of weapons in and out of our boarder.

Our country is unfortunately at war!!!!!

THE GOVERNMENT TACTICS AND STRATEGIES ARE ALREADY KNOWN;

1. CONVERTING THE CURRENT SECTARIAN UPROAR TO A FULL BLOWN CIVIL WAR, WITH THE WAR FRONT AT THE NORTH DOORS, KILLING BOTH OUR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY LEADERS E.G EMIRS, TOP POLITICIANS AND UNIFORM MEN OF NORTHERN ORIGIN, IN A BID TO TOTALLY WEAKEN THE REGION SO AS TO EITHER CONTINUE THEIR DEVILISH RULE AGENDA OR SIMPLY DIVIDE THE COUNTRY.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD STRATEGY INDEED,(courtesy Devil MENTOR) IT WORKS IN MANY INSTANCES E.G SYRIA. BUT ALAS, IT WOULD NEVER WORK IN NIGERIA.
B/COS;
THE BRAVE NORTHERN YOUTH IN THE MILITARY WOULD NEVER TOLERATE OR ALLOW THIS.
THE NORTH HAS GOOD FRIENDS( ALIAS) THAT WOULD STAND BY NORTH FOR SURE.
AS USUAL THE YORUBAS WOULD ISOLATE THEMSELVES, LEAVING, ND/IGBOS/MIDDLE BELTANS TO FACE NORTH IF THE PLAN BACKFIRES !

THE STRATEGY FURTHER ENTAILS WIDER S.O.E TO INFLICT MORE DAMAGES, MORE CASUALTIES , BLACKMAIL, ASSASSINATION AND MORE....

ALTHOUGH, THE TACTICS WAS ON FINAL STAGES, NIGERIA IS GODS OWN AS SAID BY MANY WOULD ONCE AGAIN SURVIVE THIS PLOT, THIS AGENDA IS BOUND TO FAIL, B/COS OF ILL EXECUTION OF THE DETAILS ENSHRINED.

LONG LIVE NORTH, LONG LIVE NIGERIA, LONG LIVE FREE AFRICA!
