LANDING GIST…..
First of all, I’d like to return all glory back to God almighty for his mercy over me throughout all the processes. So the journey story: My boarding at mmia Lagos was a smooth one because I work at the airport as government officials before my resignation. The airline (Egypt air) checkin staffs request for Acceptance/ offer letter, evidence of payment of tuition, visa, and I was equally asked to login into my student portal. After confirming all, we boarded about 1400 hours and landed at Cairo at about 2000 hours. We were lodged into hotel at Cairo about 0230 hours next day and we were to wake up 0400 hours as checkin begins 0600 hours to fly to Toronto.Meanwhile ,the same process of confirmation of studentship also played out at Cairo airport. The students were asked to show acceptance letter, payment of tuition fee and to also login to our respective school portal. Some of the prospective students we traveled together had issues here as they were not expecting repetition of all the checks. However the 12 hours flight from Cairo to Toronto started about 0900 hours and we landed in Toronto about 1300 hours local time. Immediately we landed, everyone proceeded to arrive can checkin, I scanned my passport and the machine printed a slip for me. I proceeded to Canada border security agents CBSA where I was asked if I came in with fish or meat. I was later directed to a counter where they do attend to student. I met a long queue and I was on the queue for about 1 hour until my turn. The officer that attended to me asked me the name of the school am going and I told him. He asked if I have made any payments to the school and I showed him receipts of the payment I made. After inputting some details into his computer, he told me to sit down for my student permit.
I want to use this medium to still encourage Nigerians that may be interested in traveling through the students route not to be discouraged. It’s not that difficult at the point of entry as some people here have painted. Note that I will be starting my program during the fall sept and I have entered 2 months before the program. When you get to the entry point, be calm, don’t be tense, answer the questions the officer asked politely and it will come through. I appreciate all the info I got from Nairaland. All our dealings will end in praises. Shalom
I am open to help anyone that needs help in terms of answers to questions and clarifications on the study permit.. such persons can dm or send messages to dayborade @ g mail dot com |

Ikay3502: Hello guys good morning y'all.. A friend of mine who's going to Conestoga has her Application approved but she's yet to make school fees payment, as she only paid 1500cad Tution deposit. She tried using formA to pay the balance of her first semester school fees but had to cancel it cos this new CBN policy that puts an end to CBN rate.. according to her, she was adviseable by her friend already in Canada to pay school fees else one might be denied entry into Canada upon landing. So pls can she at least pay 5000cad out of 8500cad?? And does she need to inform the school of her intention to pay 5000cad before making the above payment?? or she should just go ahead and pay cos she intends to pay through flywire.. pls your input is highly needed thanks. The school will require the students to pay up first semester fee before a certain deadline.. It’s advisable for the student to look for money and pay up the first semester fee before traveling |

nasbas: Hello, I would like to ask if this works
I want to apply for myself (female) and my spouse, my uncle in the uk is my sponsor and he wants to use fixed deposit certificate in my name as POF from him. He will tender his documents but I don't have any picture with him though we have same surname. I would like to know if it's okay. My home ties would be my registered business if 5years
If not, kindly advise Your uncle shouldn’t fix any money in your name and he shouldn’t submit any fixed deposit account. Rather he should transfer funds that will be enough to Cather for your tuition and living expenses at least for a year into your account. Also you will have to proof beyond doubt to the visa officer your relationship with him. Has he been taking care of you or sending you money before now? Those are the evidence the visa officer will want to see. Couple with your business, your husband and the kids can stay behind as home ties and later you file for them. It shall end in praises |

No, your passport won’t be re-stamped as the stamped on is still valid until expiration. |

Last day expected in school is Sep 12. - Application submitted in May - Biometric in June Used a Nigerian consultant based in Canada (introduced by a family friend in Canada) who greatly coordinated and midwifed the entire process. Not compulsory though, but extremely helpful given the high rate of rejection these days. Be careful of scammers. |

Congratulations Sean9014: I’m writing this to give a bit of hope to people still waiting for their PPR given that i was in the same situation few days ago. Phew! it was a long journey that began in 2017 after attempting and researching on various routes to relocate to Canada. Express entry, provincial nominee applications, coupled with IELTS tests all expired without any success. I eventually made via study route. First-time applicant, having read almost all the information about Canada study visa on here, thread to thread, page by page, morning and night. My application took 12 weeks and some days before I got medical request. Before I got the request, I decided do a medical upfront. Low and behold I got a medical request on my appointment date at the IOM office. My time-line • Biometrics: May 27, 2022 • Medical request: August 10, 2022 • Medical Passed: August 18, 2022 • BVL:25-08-2022 • PPR: 25-08-2022 Documents Submitted 1. SOP (Well-detailed 4 pages with referenced links, it took me months to finish since my application required some explanation because I had previously completed a master’s program in England. For Home ties; I wrote more about my job and returning to take over the family businesses this was also specified by my Sponsor) 2. Letter of recommendation (Work) 3. Appointment Letter 4. Confirmation of Appointment Letter 5. Pension Statement 6. Letter of Promotion 7. Salary Review Letter (2) 8. Tax Clearance (PAYE) 9. Study Leave 10. Work ID card 11. Group Photo (Work) 12.
