Sincere 9gerian: There is an ongoing ferocious attack and propaganda against the minister of aviation and all that she has achieved so far. The logic that opening up Enugu Airport to the outside world will kill the aviation sector is what I dont understand. The silly analysis obviously did not take into consideration the economic expansion in the region that will accompany the international Airport. With more economic expansion comes more traffic at both local and international Airports in the region. The argument that a whole region must be restricted to local flights just to encourage growth of the local airlines based in Lagos and Abuja is ridiculous, wicked and sillyi'll have to slightly disagree with you on this one. All over the world to most extents, foreign airlines are restricted to only one point of entry into a country while passengers who make use of such flights but need to go to another state/city within that country will then have to make use of local airlines there. There's no country in the world that will give Arik for example 3 entry points talk less of 2. The problem we have in Nigeria right now is a severe lack of domestic airlines servicing local routes hence the exhorbitant airfares passengers are forced to pay because of lack of adequate choices & competition. My take is that there are too many "international" airports in Nigeria some of them ridiculously close to each other or potentially so like Omagwa in ph & the proposed Yar Adua international airport in Bayelsa (under construction) which i honestly see no need for even as a local airport considering the short distance between the two airports which a very good road network, the east - west road in this case would have solved. By the time the fg takes possession of the commercial planes ordered (i heard 50 ?) i will suggest foreign airlines be assigned to the various international airports we have in this country so passengers will have to take connecting flights to their final destinations. This will boost revenue for such airports & also encourage our local airlines who are having a really difficult daY in the office as it stands with multiple taxation and so few passengers making them to most at times lump passengers from different flight schedules together so as to save cost. |
emmatok: Thanks for this information.sentiments aside and without taking any credit away from Obj. Knowing fully well that govt is a continuum, what should Gej have done in this power issue ? (a) Should he have abandoned ALL projects started by Obasanjo & begin fresh ones even though he might not complete the fresh ones by 2015 in case he loses re election just so that people like @wola44 & @agbameta wont henpeck him out of the unending pure hatred they have for him or (b) should Gej round up with the ones on ground which were at various stages of progress before starting fresh projects so that we ordinary Nigerians can start enjoying the benefits as soon as possible ? Pls lets be honest with ourselves here, pure hatred many commentators here have for Gej should not errode common sense after all we are the final beneficiaries who shall enjoy these things. |
@smartchoice but im right na. A serious business man (which i believe all those who run businesses in Lagos are) is only interested in those who can afford his/her goods or services irrespective of the customers' tribe. So why bring up an annoying non issue ? Do you think Adenuga cares what tribe the buyer of his glo card comes from ? He will only get scared when people in Lagos for example decide to stop patronising glo services completely. Lets move on from this rubbish abeg |
Segeggs: ^^^And i disagree wit u bothi'll stand on my nose for an hour just so you can agree with me. Honestly |
The residents of Lagos run its economy, without people there is no market & business does not ask money what tribe it comes from. So you guys should stop this childish SW vs SE rant that you want to start again. |
Where am I dey ? |
ikwere militant: my broda dnt mind d hater who said gej hs nt tried should hug transformer.d jos manchok rd constructd by pw ws an enginering beauty d adamawa numan rd is a gud job 2.dis re d roads atiku never pasd thru out hs tenure bt a southerna constructd it.many of d fedral universites re beng celebratd by d host comunities.go to gashu or wokari nd se d job creatn going on dia.all dis done in les dan 3ys.so leave dose apc goats dat hav nt travld beyund dia hamlets but chose to sit in dia dirty houses waitng for d nxt rouod of rumur frm sahara reportasnna men, the wickedness of some of these APC people can put the devil to shame i tell you. Many of them like the last id10t i responded to do not see any reason why projects should be cited in other parts of the country. Is that not witchcraft ? When they heard about the award of fly over contract in Bayelsa, they complained bitterly asking how many people in Bayelsa have cars, they heard about Enugu airport, that one sef na wahala because according to them, ibo people no dey travel. Ibaka deep sea port nko ? That one na okoro because all vessels according to them must berth at Apapa wharf. Now the construction of roads in the north is anathema because according to APC ideology, the northerners are too poor to own cars so the fg is not supposed to construct roads there. I tell you, the wickedness of these APC e-touts will surely make the devil a born again chritian one day TUFIAKWA !!! to them. |
APC and their wahala, if Gej s#it, dem go ask why him no use water wash yansh |
I like the way otherwise corrupt, evil, & devilish PDP rogues automatically turn to saints when they join APC or have some problems with the fg, all their "evil" past will be forgiven &forgotten no questions asked. Who do we really trust in this country politically sef ? |
Stella Oduah should have come & tied the coffin down very well. See what has happened now ![]() |
Benjoh: Tinubu may be thief to you all I don't care but u shu quite know well that u tried him in court under this ur Gej administration and nothing was found against him,he came out victorious so I don't know what more you myopically confused ppl want of him again and for those of you that want him dead,GOD decides not you,I believe he fears not of death Muslims doesn't not fear death cos it is the will of GOD not human so stop wasting your time on that.after reading this, i now believe our educational sector is definitely in crisis. |
APC wahala too much abeg. If person s#it, dem go ask why you no use water to wash nyansh |
smartchoice: talktimi!nna wetin i do na ? |
Let the beneficiaries of these projects be the ones to complain if they dont want or they dont like these projects not not you bad belle people |
Nashville: Insincere 9gerian. Don't you even observe Sallah break? Your oga cannot even give you one day off so that you can enjoy with your family rather than creating meaningless threads on Nairaland.in other words, according to you Gej is not working or you refuse to believe his administration will so much ? Why should creation of new universities be a problem to you ? The indigent beneficiaries have not complained neither have they rejected them. Recruiting of lecturers is not you business and so should not concern you at all. The N.U.C will handle those issues. Your argument about the airports is laughable but also pitiable, what is the ratio of successful flights to crashed ones ? Dont be such a sad pessimist. According to you, the fg shouldnt have constructed any single road in the north because northerners are too poor to buy cars. Youre very wicked o, maybe you think its only you and your clan members that can drive cars or deserve good roads. Why are you so selfish ? If you doubt the presence of these projects, quietly travel up north and verify things yourself & if you're sad about it, let the owners enjoy their property by hiding your face. |
Gej is at fault ![]() |
nagoma: The greedy glutton can never be great. Jonathan has a great chance to lead a nation but he chooses to lead a tribe. Nigeria has a better future without these unrefined and uncivilized people without legacy. I wonder why they didn't fight the British to get their independence instead of tagging along with us doing the fight. Now the lazy lot feel oil is everything and it belongs to them alone.you have no idea what you're talking about. Your postulations are based out of pure unrefined hatred for Gej & the SS people. I dont know how you can call an entire race "lazy" when you've certainly not gone round each & every community of that region. Its just as silly as saying "all northerners are beggers or all northerners are dirty". That style of thought is unexposed and illiterate which is below your standard. Pls educate yourself. |
Sidomi: Here is why I used d word ICON. PH used to be a deadly zone. Some pple called it a blood sucking arena b4 Amaechi bcame d gov. He came in and sanitized everywhere and then put up a system that is working administratively in PH. Well if ICON is 2big for him, @least u agree he is a performer and bold political figure from d south southfirst of all there's a difference between a bold person and a careless talker which is what Amaechi is. Amaechi was speaker of the Rivers house of assembly during the blood sucking period you talk about for the complete 8yrs of Odili's tenure and so was actively involved in all atrocities commited then. The only reason Amaechi seems so saintly now & you dont see him amongst them is because he had a falling out with Odili due to the 2007 primaries where his name was substituted for Omehia's own and not due to any righteous desire to serve Rivers people. As at the 2011 elections, Wike who was his then chief of staff delivered Rivers state council by council to Amaechi and that is an undisputed fact. |
Tinubu is just plain confused. The fg suddenly agreeing to a conference took the wind off his wings. Opinion leaders in the polity support the president & even the senate president on the need for such a discussion except obviously Tinubu's herd who just have to agree to whatever he says & does since the ability to think critically has slowly eroded them hence their herd mentality. Ko buru |
smartchoice: talktimi am not satisfied with your responses but this is not the forum for OUR discussion!no wahala, we go jam for the other side after now. I even need ur advice sef. |
babasoty: The people of Rivers state are between the devil and the deep blue sea, in as much as we support GEJ and he would definitely win any elections held in Rivers state we just don't like the folks promoting him in Rivers state ( Nyesom wike, Abiye Sekibo, Austin Okpara, Peter odili etc ), these are folks who robbed us blind, turned the state upside down and now they are trying to seek relevance and redemption by hiding under the toga of fighting and campaigning for the president, Ameachi lost it after his first tenure as he greatly became more authoritarian, rude and honestly didn't pretty much do anything after that tenure, we are caught between supporting GEJ and bringing back these charlatans back to prominence for another round of looting....God help Rivers State.Amaechi openly called Odili his boss and godfather at a public function last year. When ph was in a state of guerilla warfare, Amaechi served as speaker in Odili's administration so he also is part of the problem. He also robbed Rivers state blind, turned the state upside down and is a rude, uncouth attention seeking prima dona. He has forgotten how Rivers people were singing praises and praying for him during his first tenure, didnt even need to rig to gain a second tenure but now Rivers people can go to hell. I dont blame someone who can use public funds to buy a Rolls Royce Phantom, a private jet and his very own massive tank farm but e go hook am one day. Why does he find it so easy to demolish waterside communities yet he avoids ikwerre communities in his demolition exercise yet there are crime infested slums there too ? When Pej noticed the biased way his demolition exercises were affecting Okrika communities where she hails from knowing fully well that the people will have no alternative places to go to as a community and cautioned him severally in private till she had to do it in public, he started insulting the first family. I have said it severally that Amaechi's mouth will be the source of his downfall. Its just funny how people who dont know where Rivers state is on a map of Nigeria or even the nearest motor park to the state will sit at okitipupa and yet claim to be experts in port harcourt affairs. Amaechi should face Rivers state, redeem his previous hard working image & when its time, use the party structure to get into the senate in 2015 which is the main crux of the matter between him and Wike. |
Sidomi: So I ask u, when some1 does his or her job very well, is such person not regarded as a performer? Only if u knw what it means to take 13,000 off the street. Amaechi is no saint, but he is one of the very sound political figure we have in south south.Performer ? Obviously but ICON ? Easy na HABA !!! |
smartchoice: You call Sure-P a success? You call East/West road a success? Inability to lead just PDP a success? Inability to have a free n fair election of 36 people a success? You call the locomotive trains a success? you still call Boko Haram crises a success? Inability to pay States their statutory allocation for three months a success? Keeping the Navy idle while empowering militants like tompolo is also a success? Inability to pass the PIB is also a success? Or his obvious lack of control over his domestic appendage of power (Patience) is also a success? A first lady taking the position of a perm sec in Bayelsa is also a success?...if this is your definition of success then Tinubu must be really "scared"SURE P is working, ive met many beneficiaries. East/West road is still undergoing massive construction, you know say the road long well well but anytime ure chanced pls take a trip along the road. PDP issue na beans, even the so called rebels have refused to decamp. They love the party so much and dem go settle. Governors forum election is a problem of the governors not the president. Locomotive trains is a success whether you like it or not even Aregbesola recognises its importance & uses it to celebrate ileya every year. Btw there is a 25 yr road map for the railway sector which includes the rehabilitation of these locomotives which have been dormant for close to two decades till other infrastructure like stable electricity (which is being worked on) are put in place for high speed trains to finally take over. BH crisis is being contained in the best way possible right now so as not to throw the country into an ethno-religeous civil war. A simple course on military tactics & stratagem will prove this to you. The Navy is not idle, if you doubt go burst pipeline then see what will happen to you. The PIB is with the senate, they have refused to pass the bill. Whenever they round up with the bill & the president refuses to sign it into law then you can complain. You dont stay in the same house with Gej to know if he cant control his wife. Anyways, its their private domestic affair not yours. PEJ was promoted by her employers the Bayelsa state govt & not the fg. If her employer feels she deserves a promotion, who are you to argue about it instead its better you impress your own oga so you can gain promotion too. Tinubu on the other hand has kept a deafening silence ever since the corruption/embezzlement case against the Lagos house of assembly speaker started & has also used his influence to make his wife a senator, his inlaw an assembly member & his daughter an iya oloja . Wahala dey |

Sidomi: This is my 1st contribution on nairaland. I heard Amaechi just employed 13,000 graduates as teachers. If dat is true then he deserves to be Regarded as not just a performer but an ICON.for doing his job ? Youre funny sha o. If you run an organisation and there are vacant positions, its your duty to make sure those positions are occupied by qualified personnel. |
Symphony007: please spare me that rubbish. If ameachi was loyal to jonathan do you think they will be attacking him like this? Apparently because other governors are his dogs, their inefficency is shielded. Nobody called timipre slyva a crook but when he fell out with jonathan and was booted out of office we were told he left 500 naira in bayelsa state account...deranged hypocites, i wonder what will be the fate of other governors when they fall out with jonathan.who told you no one called Sylva a crook till he had problems with Gej ? Pls stick to what youre absolutely certain of. Amaechi called attention on himself with his uncouth character & language towards the first family and even if you hate Gej + his wife, there are certainly others who will stand for them. Even amongst the G7 governors, who is always in the news turning an event as lowly as a fashion show into an avenue to harangue the presidency again ? If you want to play in the mud, be prepared for the consequences. Thats by the way, my own beef with him is that slowed down dramatically in project execution in Rivers state and that is what most Rivers indigenes are complaining of even people of Nkpor community near Iwofe allege that he said he wont do anything for them since they didnt vote for him. That is crass vindictiveness if i may say so. Im not bothered about his fight with the fg because they know how they will settle theirselves. |
Its funny how otherwise intelligent people think working in an oil company automatically makes one a billionaire. Thats id10tic |
Symphony007: victoria island is the heart of lagos, center of commerce. Home to many corporate headquaters but it still gets flooded when it rains. Goodluck jonathan has never driven to otuoke, he flies in a chopper from port harcourt airport. What is the state of his community road? What is seriake dickson doing with his billions of naira budget? Why does'nt yenegoa have a single flyover? Bayelsa is one of the smallest states in nigeria. What are they doing with their 300 billion naira budget when other states double it's size get only a fraction of that. You guys are stupid partisan attack dogs and critics. If you want to attack inefficiency or underperformance, call out the whole pack and stop cherry picking those who oppose king jonathan.dude this thread is about ph/rivers state specifically. You obviously have a problem with Bayelsa state & or its indigents so why not open another thread focusing on Bayelsa for another lively discussion. Stop derailing this thread abeg youre turning out to be the stupid partisan attack dog yourself. Conceded, you have a right to hate Gej with a passion but lets not deny the fact that Amaechi has not been intense this tenure as he was in the first |
Kachi188: There is something I've noticed in Rivers State which I find really troubling...it's Ђσω Amaechi has left all †ђξ traffic lights put in place by Odili to rot. Those lights really gave us the feel of being in a city, aπϑ I'll like to see them back up againpls forget that traffic light matter, there's a spiritual side to it i deY tell you. Have you noticed how all the lights in ph seem to get spoilt/destroyed at the same time ? The traffic lights reduce "revenue" for some winchy people eg police & so they have to go |
Akainzo: Even if you are ignorant of Tinubu's early life and career, I would assume that in this age and time, you at least know how to use "google". Do Google his name and then you'd learn that a man that was an Executive Director at Mobil would definitely not be a pauper as you alleged.pls dont be so naive, Tinubu retired from Mobil quite alright from a top position too but that doesnt mean he retired as a multi billionaire HABA ! Is he the owner of the company ? As far as Nigeria is concerned, you cant contest for public office without declaring your assets so saying Gej didnt declare his own is a fallacy which is simply impossible to happen. Yes he declared his assets to the relevant agencies involved in private which is not against the law as you also have an option of declaring your assets through the public domain. You can not push someone to tell you all he has when its plainly not your business and we all know that all those who pushed for him to declare his assets were simply being mischievous |
smartchoice: No not at all but I have a prob with over dependence on oil money that has stifled devt and creativity hence giving people with no knowledge of what to do with power jostling for political offices cos of oil money!well, your earlier post which prompted me to ask that question relayed a contrary message. That aside, its certainly not the fault of the niger delta people nor the oil found in their domain that successive Nigerian governments have refused to develop this nation as a whole talk less of their respective regions where stark abject poverty is the prevailing order. Funny enough, to fix Nigerias' problems isnt such a difficult thing to do but all arms of govt must come together & work at a high tempo pace or any effort will fall flat on its face. |
