In what seems to be a resumption of attacks on telecommunications facilities in the Northern part of Nigeria, suicide bombers have carried out two separate attacks against telecommunication facilities in Kano state. The first attack occurred at the building of Airtel Telecommunications Company near Mallam Kato Square, Sabon Gari, Kano, injuring an unconfirmed number of people. Bayo Osho, an Airtel staff who survived the attack, said two suicide bombers in separate cars carried out the attack. He said the first car rammed the gate before a second car, laden with explosives, drove into the building. The driver of the second car then came out and exchanged gunfire with the security personnel before the explosives went off. Minutes after the Airtel incident, another attack was launched against MTN switch in Bompai along Mai Malari, opposite northern Flower mills in Bompai. However, reports indicate that the attack was unsuccessful as they car exploded outside the building. According to sources, the switch at Bompai controls MTN network in 13 states while that of Airtel attacked earlier controls network in 7 states. Already, subscribers on the Airtel network are already experiencing network disruption even as security personnel have been dispatched to other masts and switches in anticipation of further attacks. Only the suicide bombers who attacked the Airtel office can be confirmed dead according to security sources. The Federal Government in collaboration with stakeholders in the petroleum industry has commenced drafting of a new policy to phase out kerosene and firewood usage and replaced them with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) otherwise known as cooking gas. The proposed policy tagged National Strategic Policy for LPG, has a five-year timeline to tactically phase out kerosene usage in the country. The copy of the draft policy, made available to Daily Trust, proposed the launching of a pilot programme to replace kerosene with LPG for poorer households within defined geographical areas in several representative states. The project will consists of the provision of free or low cost starter kit of cylinder, basic appliances and fuel, phased reduction in kerosene subsidy and simultaneous reduction in kerosene and increase in LPG supply. Speaking yesterday at the LPG National Strategy Policy review in Abuja, Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke said with the current LPG national consumption rate of 110,000 metric tonnes per annum, Nigeria is ranked among the lowest consumers of LPG in Africa. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/news/184013-fg-plans-to-phase-out-kerosene-usage |

- The general rule is "NEVER" attempt to runThanks for the info but were you on police uniform before. - If you have a Jeep, always send somebody to check round the compound before you drive out - Use your mirror anytime you are making a U-turn - Always lock your gate/door immediately you enter But more importantly, be prepared for any surprise package from GEJ. Fill your tank on 31st Dec, not minding the cost. |
A Senator, Olubunmi Adetumbi (ACN Ekiti) on Tuesday condemned the use of a military training helicopter for use by civilians during the burial of the father of a presidential adviser, Oronto Douglas. Speaking during a debate on the urgent need to investigate the recent helicopter crash in Bayelsa, Senator Adetumbi said the death of the former Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Yakowa, former National Security Adviser Andrew Azazi and others was as a result of the failure of the system to address the issue of corruption. According to him, the crashed helicopter is called a military training helicopter, but it is obviously not being used for military training on that day. He said that pertinent questions, such as who authorised the use of the helicopter for civilian purposes must be asked and answers given. “Who gave the order for the chopper to be used? What is the purpose of private charter helicopter? Why was a private chopper not hired? Is it what the Navy appropriation is being used for?” Senator Adetumbi asked. http://www.channelstv.com/home/2012/12/18/senator-queries-use-of-military-training-aircraft-by-politicians/ |
Nobody is wishing him dead but one thing those comm and sp. adviser should know is that, they will answer for this one day. How can you say he is well and healthy when he cannot appear on internet from any where he is to refute the death. Even BH do use Internet He handed over to his deputy but signed that the deputy should not approve anything more than N500,000. Is that governance? Anyway, since you said that he is well and healthy, we will stop praying for his recovery |
Statistics reeled out by the Corps Marshall showed that up to 40 per cent of road accidents between 2007 and 2010 across the country resulted to almost 13,000 deaths involving commercial driversIf they make Abuja - Lokoja two or four lane, you will hardly hear of accident on that road. people die on that road everyday. Somebody dove all the way from his location to Lokoja, mentally fit, but Lokoja to Abuja, he is not stable again. Let them fix the roads and stop blaming drivers Most of the accidents are as a result of bad roads. Every inter-state road should be double lane and then make alternative route for tankers or force them move only at night |

An educationist, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She taught in many schools in Kaduna State before transferring her service to the Ministry of Defence, Abuja. According to the Kaduna State website, she is now on leave of absence. She is more qualified than some state governors. This is a good idea but they are setting a very bad example |

k2039: I'm sure Adam was neither white or black, he must have all the race in him, lol. But most of the pictures we have been seen from Adam to Jesus have been representing white men with long curly hair. |
African is the only continent that is black and has no curly hair. But since all human being came from one man, why is African different from other continents. In other continents, their face may differ, just like American and Asian, but they are still white and have curly hair So where do African originate from? |
