Shy, 2 things..

1. I ain't no feminist, i totally am on the side of clear definition of gender roles;..... A man not doing household chores is not a sacrilege in my book, neither do not i see anything wrong in buying a pack of boxer in exchange for an high end phone as anniversary gifts... grin

2. Most people are full of crap, they say lot of inane things & do the opposite.....

There is a difference between making a choice & settling, most settle for the available & still want to foist what they'd want from what is desirable, which they weren't fortunate enough to have....

The day i see a beauty queen with a laborer is the day i change my stance, till then, money makes the world go round.. cool
Sensible. Very sensible post from a reasonable woman.

Postmann, less/darktroll, you guys are crazy. Whenever I want to be foolish to engage either or both of you in any intellectual discourse, please be kind enough to remind me of this thread to reset my brain.

Back to OP, everything you wrote back there is the truth but what saddens me is that Feminism seems to be winning. They've even successfully penetrated the academic world. Do you know the academic community has warned that in all academic writings, proformal reference to neuter nouns such as BABY must not be selective of the masculine gender, HE. Academics are advised to write, for instance:

THE BABY WANTED ITS FOOD
instead of

THE BABY WANTED HIS FOOD

Also in the case of indefinite pronouns - singular or plural - academics are advised to employ the plural proform paradigm, THEY. This means they should write, for instance:

EVERYONE KNOWS THEIR RIGHT
instead of

EVERYONE KNOWS HIS RIGHT

However, one issue that remains inadequately addressed is the preferred proform for neuter nouns like INDIA, COMPANY, etc. Academics are known to make a choice of the feminine gender in this case and they remain unquestioned. They write, for instance:

INDIA HAS ADDRESSED HER POLITICAL ISSUES
instead of

INDIA HAS ADDRESSED ITS POLITICAL ISSUES.

Postmann and my brothers against feminism, a lot of work has to be done. Let's continue to open threads to enlighten the innocent ones who are yet to be initiated into the feminist movement. They need to know about the evil of feminism.

We need more "feminivores" like you Postmann.

Peace.
FamilyOn Sexism, Fairness And Gender Rights by Talon05(op): 7:22pm On Jan 04, 2016
These Feminists obviously mean business and it seems they're winning.

ON SEXISM, FAIRNESS AND GENDER RIGHTS

For years now, the academic community has warned that in all academic writings, proformal reference to neuter nouns such as BABY must not be selective of the masculine gender, HE. Academics are advised to write, for instance:

THE BABY WANTED ITS FOOD
instead of

THE BABY WANTED HIS FOOD

The latter, it would be found, may be considered sexist, as it gives preference to one gender over the other.

Also in the case of indefinite pronouns - singular or plural - academics are advised to employ the plural proform paradigm, THEY. This means they should write, for instance:

EVERYONE KNOWS THEIR RIGHT
instead of

EVERYONE KNOWS HIS RIGHT

While the former may yet be grammatically and semantically controversial, it is clearly not sexist, as it favours both gender choices.

However, one issue that remains inadequately addressed is the preferred proform for neuter nouns like INDIA, COMPANY, etc. Academics are known to make a choice of the feminine gender in this case and they remain unquestioned. They write, for instance:

INDIA HAS ADDRESSED HER POLITICAL ISSUES
instead of

INDIA HAS ADDRESSED ITS POLITICAL ISSUES

While the choice of THEIR may give rise to unnecessary grammatical-number debate, one cannot deny the possibility of HIS. ITS too may not be appropriate, since in this case, INDIA is not the country as a geographical space but as a population and government. (In rare cases too - for native speakers of English - it may refer to the landscape).

The question then is "why HER and not HIS?"

How can he just divorce without letting her people know what she did? Just pack her home with no regard for her parents? It is clear they were not problematic in-laws. The least he should have done was to tell them what their daughter has been puting him through before kicking her out. Besides maybe they would have talked to her and helped fix his marriage looong before the mater went beyound repair. Abi did he not want to fix his marriage in the first place? Had he been waiting for the problem to accumulate so that he can find enough reason to kick her out?
He is enjoying sha, I hope this new woman meets his standards.
I'm not sure we read the same thing because it is clearly written in what I read that he told his inlaws what the wife did but he just couldn't disclose it to us (readers). They even think he's such a good man and they don't want to lose him so they had to give him another lady in that family.

A funny story anyways.

Which women need to be more assertive? The average Nigerian woman like you? People have personality traits. Some people will be assertive, some will not. Some will have a temper, some will not. Different people are born with personality traits. Why don't you preach that NIgerian women should be less materialistic and stop focusing on Channel and Prada bags, Telemundo and Nollywood, etc. Well I guess you wouldn't focus on that because it's their choice. But there are lots of Nigerian women who have decided to succeed.

You said we are all agreed that women can live their lives the way we want. Then you say society discriminates against how women make choices. Please tell me when someone held a gun to your head to demand you live your life a certain way.

I will suggest you get an education and a job for starters. You sound unintelligent and unemployable!

Been a while, trust you superb! Mou is just being naughty and mischievous as usual. My only beef with him is keeping Ivanovic sadangry,
We will get it in no time,he is realising it now.We need new defenders, the centre back and full back is shit.
He's also been making shitty subs. Honestly, I can't believe Pedro completed the Newcastle game and as long as Ivanovic is in that defence, we will always be vulnerable at the back.

Someone needs to speak some senses into Mou's head.

Feminism has never been about gender equality but female equality. I won't take feminists serious until I see a feminist campaign trying to reduce the sentencing gaps between genders for the same crime. Until I see them campaigning for the things the girl mentioned and some other things, they will remain noisemakers.

Feminists are just jokers anyways.

@Moana stop moaning on this thread! Extreme feminism is bad for marriage business unless you want to be twisted, frustrated and divorced then welcome to feminism!
Women who truly love their men feel privileged to submit to him but all these feminists who see men as their sparring partner always gets it hot in their marriage. When the husband refuses to bulge, they divorce and become bitter for the rest of their lives. Those who can now comes to naira land to offload their venom here .
Next thing due to lack of adequate care and proper focus in life their puccy hygiene deteriorates and the puccy begins to stink terribly thereby driving men further from them. Next thing extremely mouth odour joins their extreme feminism. Then the stage is set for permanent loneliness and blaming of men for all the world troubles. grin grin grin

What kind of men have you had dealings with in life? So according to your logic only men do inhumane things? What then do you say about women who cheat and their husbands end up unknowingly raising children who aren't really theirs? Or haven't you seen women who verbally, emotionally and physically abuse men too? Pls be fair in your reasoning ok.

My previous comment strictly applies to decent people who are at least trying to live their lives in a way that pleases God.. a slap isn't a bad idea if the woman won't let you go out and cool off. the slap would release her grip on your shirt so you can take off from there.

a certain female made this post about her neighbours....

she was very happy about the treatment her fellow woman got.
She was happy cause she knows the man is a good man and must have been pushed to his limit before he decided "enough is enough" and give her the trashing of her life.

Wow been a while i have read from you, hope you good.

I have seen women who did not want to let go,despite numerous pleading from passersby and ended up battered.

I think if she locks your shirt, push her away and leave the scene unless she follows you, then it's another thing altogether.
Ma'am, I have been good, you?

Honestly, I do not know how best to handle such a situation cause I have never witnessed one or ever being in such a situation but I have read and I have tried to analyse various scenarios in my head but I always come to this conclusion on this particular snecerio that bitch-slapping such a woman won't be a terrible idea. Come on, if my woman verbally abuse me, God forbid and won't let me go peacefully like the gentleman that I am, I think a slap or two ain't such a bad idea. She might end up with injury if I have to forcefully push her away from me, she could hit her head on a wall or any other thing or don't you think so?

Reterliation in anger considering the fact that men are stronger ; may lead to worse physical damage or even death. undecided you don't want that do you?
Yea, I do not want that. I am against every form of abuse but I think you missed the part I wrote "the woman locks his shirt". In such a case, how do you think the man will get rid of the woman's grip on his shirt?
FamilyRe: Alarming Number Of Nigerian Women Think Spousal Abuse by husband is justifiable by Talon05: 9:58pm On Mar 20, 2015
Today, I learnt, brothers and sisters, it's okay for a woman to verbally abuse her man but wrong for that man to physically abuse the woman in retaliation. Lot of jokers on here.

Quick question; what should be done when a woman verbally abuse her man, damages his phone and locks his shirt preventing him from "walking out like a perfect gentleman" just like some of you advised?
