In 2023, I was defrauded the sum of 2.5 million naira, I first reported to the EFCC and they requested a bribe of 1 million naira, I reported to the police and they said "debt collection is not their jurisdiction" I have to go to court to file a direct criminal complaint and the judge sent the case for investigation at force headquarters in Abuja, specifically the force intelligence department (FID). On getting to the FID I was told to pay 300k naira for tracking and I said I didn't have such money then one Mr. Theophilous the secretary to the IG FID said I should get out of the office and never enter there again. I left and searched online for the IG FID and called him, he answered and instructed that I give the phone to Mr. Theophilous but Mr. Theophilous was being aggressive and refused to talk to his boss. I am documentating this so that incase the police get involved while I take necessary steps to get my money back it will be on record that I have followed due process and right now I'm left with no other choice.

The lady is an IT student while the Guy is a University student who's just an adhoc staff that comes around during his school vacations.

These two lovers are my best staff that even have the company Banking passwords with them , I take the lady as my Secretary and PA and I trust her so much because shes hardworking. I have caught them before touching each other in the office, I just pretend I didn't see them. But in August when the Guy came around, I observe some distractions from the hardworking lady which eventually affect the company productivity for that month.

I called her to order and asked if anything is between her and the Guy but she denied and said they are just friends then I narrated all I saw and she promised to control herself. I made some investigation about them and I eventually discover they were actually dating. I confronted her again but now with facts then she told me again that shes going to control herself.

Dating themselves is not my problem but displaying of affection which made other staff members to notice and if care is not taking others can start doing the same and the office will become something else while my business will suffer for their actions, they can even connive to defraud the company because I give them full control of the company.

I have warmed this lady to stop displaying affection in office but I dont think shes ready to change. E.g few days ago, she placed the company phone on the guy's arm while calling customers,something when the guy is sitting directly to her, she will zip down her jean and displaying her pant and waist beads.

She's now bringing food for him every week and even hand it over to him openly.

I dont know what to do again, reason I dont want to talk to the boy yet is because is a son of my fellow landlord in my community and I dont want to stop him from coming to office because he's been working with me long before this girl joined.

Please Nairalanders, how can I go about this issue, how I wan tell people that I sack an IT student who just joined 6 months ago. The Boy is 23 while the Lady is 20.

They should disconnect you and reimburse you, you don't know how your story dey sweet me. They are now secondary power source.
If they didn't give you power, will they pay you for loss of revenue.

I installed an 18kW solar power system at my property in Lekki Phase 1, relegating EKEDC supply to a backup status. Since then, I have been having more frequent visits from personnel of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), coming to check my prepaid meter.

On one of those visits, the EKEDC team stood watching the meter for motion to indicate consumption. When the meter wasn't moving, they called me to say they suspected I had bypassed the meter. I told them I had enough solar power for my daytime needs and only used their supply as a backup for the dark hours. To prove this to them, I switched on my inverter bypass for about 2 minutes so my consumption would be from EKEDC. They saw the meter rotating normally. They were visibly upset and one of them mumbled something like _"This ọ̀gá no wan gree us chop"_. They left.

Today (19-Oct-2026), three of them came to my premises with a notice of disconnection. The last time I loaded an EKEDC token was in July 2026 and I still had ample units left. When I asked why they would disconnect me, they said the reason was "LOR" (Loss of Revenue). They said my slow consumption indicates a faulty meter and I had to pay them ₦112,606 for loss of revenue.

I told them my meter was not faulty and that they could test it if they wanted. The lady said they were losing revenue and they had to make up for it.

I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry. I have no intention of paying EKEDC a dime for its loss of revenue due to my taking steps to protect my interest.

But, I share this story for all who are investing in solar power to know that the DisCos are now desperate. They now have "Loss of Revenue" as a reason for your disconnection from their supply. It is simply that they are not making enough money from you.

I am waiting for EKEDC to disconnect me from their grid before I lodge a formal complaint to the regulatory authority.

We are in interesting times in Nigeria!
