dexydidi:Sorry about your issue, Your re-application is seen as a fresh application, regardless of any mistakes from you or them. You re-applied on 21st December. Expecting to travel on 31st Dec. that is peak holiday season and most offices are closed. SA hardly issues visa when travel date has passed, especially if you ae applying via vfs. My opinion; Dont bother wasting more money and time to seek justice. There are disclaimers already when applying that they wont refund. |
odimbannamdi:If you are coming to Capetown, stay at sea point, green point, or v&a waterfront or maybe cbd. Those are central to many Cape Town activities. Dont let anyone scare you. The link below can help you book popular tourist activities in Capetown at reasonable rates. Much cheaper than anything else online. Personally had their wine tours 3 different times. Go on tiktok and Instagram and find out for yourself what tourists do. https://citysightseeing.co.za/en/cape-town |
KingCold:Exaggerated opinion. Lived around SA and Capetown is the only place i have genuinely felt safe. Its the no 1 tourist destination in Africa and thousands of tourists fly in here weekly to enjoy our beautiful city. |
Sadly he will only go to a fine jail. |
lymelyte:Ok. Thought you were going to renew in Nigeria. Thats why my friend was stuck. You can travel but like the other person said, make sure you have your proof of your renewal application with you. If i were you, I'd come back much earlier |
lymelyte:Where are you processing the study permit renewal? If you are already processing it in SA, just stay put. If you intend to go and process in Nigeria, you are on your own. A friend did d same and was stuck in Nigeria for 5 months. Renewals are best processed within SA. And it still takes months. Or what happens if for instance your airline comes up with a story and cancels flight on the 28th December? Too risky in my opinion. |
Anniebam:These things are everywhere in Capetown, but i guess it depends on which area you are. Anyways, try Plantain.co.za. They deliver to your doorstep. Both fresh plantains and plantain chips. Occasionally even yam if they have stock.. For potatoes, Buy Zimbabwean sweet potatoes. They ate the closest to what we have in Nigeria in terms of texture. Its mostly sold by roadside street vendors who sell veggies. You can also visit ogaafricanmarket in Parklands. A bit expensive but you'll find anything you want most times from there.. |
Haoke:You need to have a valid permit in south africa before you can apply for a Canadian work permit from South Africa. Canada needs you to have a valid legal status where you reside. You have a much better chance applying from Nigeria than SA |
Griffin22:Why did you guys take such a risk considering all the reported delays with passport submissions in Nigeria and Ghana? After all the stress and wahala to get ppr? Nawa o.. What would it cost to do another Medicals and just wait? You have to start calling ircc repeatedly and raise webforms explaining your predicament. hopefully There should be a way out. Same thing for you @sophzzy. You have to raise a webform and try to call IRCC. |
Duchess2020:RFV- Ready for visa Email. You will get in your inbox PPR - Passport request. An attachment in your ircc profile . under messages. the same place you got AOR letter from. If you have gotten either you should follow instructions as submit passport asap |
OTOIDEEHI:Not necessary. Company letter head is enough as long as there is company contact details on it.. His personal email and phone number is private information. |
Africankel:Again, i dont like to argue without facts. South Africa does not have a demand for immigration like Canada or the US or the UK. Canada has multiple immigration schemes running and yet, they have managed to clear a huge bulk. (literally took 90 days from ITA to ppr for me this same year). I got my Us visa appt here in Sa within 2 weeks from application date. I got my visa approved same day. All less than a month. So again which imaginary backlog? The bulk of SA tourists who really come for tourism do not need visas. Uk, USA, Canada and most schengen citizens can come to SA without a visa. Same goes for key Asian countries. The pple who need visas are mostly Africans, Nigerians, Indians, Pakistans and a few 3rd world countries. The info is online for anyone. SA however does not want this people. So they decide to make the process exhausting. Even a lot of post grad who used to come to SA have redirected to other countries. its not about being victimized. We as a people also have issues with authenticity and sincerity in many of the documentation we present. Not just Us Nigerians, Pakistans, even Indians. Many pple come here for visit and do not go back. That is why they over stretch the visa evaluation process. But again, its Always a case of a few bad eggs ruining things for a lot of others. There's no covid 19 backlog anywhere. Its just more scrutiny, and unfair evaluations. And corruption, because again, some pple still pay their way out heavily to get this visa at all costs. |
Africankel:Lol Covid-19 after how many years? Even countries with busier immigration programs have cleared backlogs and moved on to better things.. It's a case of a few bad eggs runining things for the good ones. Lets be factual. Do we really wanna say we dont know why SA makes things extremely difficult for Nigerians applying to their country? I've lived in SA for over 7 years. I've gotten many kinds of visa you can imagine in that time. Visitors visa in 2016, later study visa (2016-2018), then critical skills visa (2019), then my PR in 2019. The one thing I can tell you is that it has never been this bad. I have friends with PR and proper jobs that have been trying to bring their wives and kids here for years but keep getting denied for different reasons. Even for visit.. Rejection. Because why will a country deny your own family from being with you? Baffles me. Thats the difference with more advanced countries. They understand the significance of family support even if you are studying. Many post docs i know left because even after phd, nothing for them.. The current immigration minister Aaron Motsoaledi has a very strong disdain for foreigners. He revoked many things the moment he got in. Again, let me stop here because i dont wanna digress. Its a visa thread. I'm currently trying to apply for evisa for a couple of friends & family. Its been so stressful. Lol. But yea, anyone applying now has to have all the needed requirements. Some factors that can influence approval are you have a rich travel history, maybe even a us, uk or CA visa, you have been to SA once and you returned in record time, you are applying from a western country like US, The EU, UK, etc. Countries that obviously have more economic value than SA.. And then your bank account is good or in a stronger currency. If you have those, take kofeeds advice and go to your nearest vfs to apply. Theres a 95% chance you'll get it. But this evisa system? Seems to me like its already a very corrupt and unfair one. |
pyrated:Focus on your employment. What you have an offer letter, or what you earn salary for that can be linked to a Canadian NOC code. Except you wanna use your shares as part of POF, i dont see the need to mention it if you don't wanna complicate your application. |
chadbaby:Ircc doesnt need to know why you left a job. What they want to know is if you truly have work experience proof for the points you are claiming. So every work experience needs some kind of proof. Reference letters, payslips, employment offer letter, etc. If you dont have proof or you can't get proof, then that is the only problem. Many online resources speak to this. |
OTOIDEEHI:Ircc does not require termination letter. You can use employment letter, any payslips showing that you were paid, get someone that worked with you to write a reference letter etc. If you reach out to the hr for a letter of reference and they can't give you, write a LOE to explain that you tried reaching out but got no response.. But really, it could even be a bank statement showing the salary you were paid on that job. Dont complicate things. Make sure if possible that your linked in profile shows the job history just in case ircc checks to confirm online.. |
Its a visa thread. We dont wanna digress pls. Moderators take note. We really are trying to get answers to questions here, not going back and forth with someone who has never probably never seen the walls of an airport and who is quick to bring delusional opinions from their weakened fragile egos. If you wanna go back and forth go and open your own thread like the many ones you have opened in the past. Then pple who have time will respond to you and your dead narratives. |

Breezy90:What is your job role with the civil service? Put it there.. Just think outside the box and focus on you and the role. I don't know where you guys are getting all this info from but thousands of Nigerians have gone to this same canada and many of them were once civil servants. As long as you have proof and refrence for anything you fill in, i think you should be fine. |
OTOIDEEHI:Not necessarily. Not many employers have the time to address letter to a specific person. I only got a default letter with : To whom it may concern..and i submitted along with my payslips and offer of employment. It was accepted. The employer just needs to reference your work history, your start and end dates, your job description and your salary if possible. |
dynamicd28:Same dilemma here. The website is wacky. Or their process. Somehow they have also not cancelled a previous application i submitted for my friend. I created another one hoping to submit after they cancel the previous one, but its even the new one they deleted from the profile. Over 20 days have passed and they have refused to cancel the pending application despite the fact that i have not paid.. Now we are just waiting for the actual travel dates for my friend to pass so i can see if they eventually cancel.. |
Monaboo:Any skilled person can move to Canada provided they meet the required criteria. Now go back to page 1 of this thread and rrad carefully. Age is a factor. Higher degrees. Your English language test. Or maybe french if age is not on your side. Immigration is a course on its own. You have to understand it and do your own research as no one can provide all the answers for you. |
pwityjj:Oh i understand now. Do you have access to download your bank statement via an online banking platform or app? I had the same issue as i didn't apply from Nigeria. My bank was hesitant to release sensitive information. What i did was I got my foreign bank to at least give a letter of confirmation(i downloaded online) that I own the account. Then i downloaded 6 month bank statements and merged all into 1 pdf. Then submitted. That was accepted by ircc My suggestion. Your bank should have a letter of account confirmation, even if it doesn't show proof of funds. It should show your name, type of account, when account was opened, etc. Try to see if you can get something similar. |
suzzyrims:https://www.nairaland.com/6296018/guide-through-ciin-certificate-express That thread should help you. But i think its a professional qualification. I simply searched for CIIN on nairaland. |
suzzyrims:What is CIIN?? If you need answers, then ask questions that are clear. There are many certifications in the world. |
Breezy90:Congratulations. Just carefully submit all the required documents and dont forget to include letter of explanation for anything you wanna clarify.. You will get your ppr soon ![]() |
pwityjj:Which bank is that? With the rate at which pple are relocating, There is no Nigerian bank that should not be able to issue proof of bank statement. Pls go to another branch. Insist. Or find someone that knows someone. And pls make sure its at least 6 months or you get a letter from them. Dont let anyone sabotage an opportunity you have been pursuing because of ignorance pls. And what inflows? You can use a logical explanation to explain anything to ircc. But really, if you are planning for immigration you should not allow any kind of inflow that cannot be explained into an account to be used for pof.. Just to be safe.. Go back to another branch and request. Good luck |
Piuscharity:Compare your job roles with the job roles in each of the nocs you have identified. You will know what to choose based on similarities. Remember you will have to justify and support each noc code with proof to ircc. There is the link to verify again if you are selecting the right noc. https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Search/QuickSearchJobTitleResults |
Thank you so much ednut1 and MayorOfEdmonton I've noted the suggestions and will also reach out to my network of tech pple who are in Canada.. |
MayorOfEdmonton:What does it mean to be market ready? In my case i already have my Copr (express entry) and i have been applying for jobs. I'm in tech and have over 6 years experience in software qa engineering and 1.5 in data science & analytics , i have several certifications and already have a masters. But i really could do with any advice as to how to get a job because I've been applying but nothing yet. I have 6 months before Copr expires and I'm really hoping to get a job before i land. What are my chances? I don't have a Canadian experience tho, so I dunno. The stories i hear are scary but I'm very optimistic and hopeful. Pls any suggestions and advice will be much appreciated. Thank you |
