If you appeal/Re-apply detail in concise terms your stated purpose of travel and why it is relevant to you. Also detail your Occupation, Position, Salary/Income, explain all salient issues concerning your occupation/Source of Income/Asset/Statement of Account/Ties to Nigeria. In other words convince the VO why he/she should believe you would return to Nigeria.

Include as many relevant supporting documents you think are necessary.

In my first application I was refused on the grounds of Travel History, Personal and Financial Asset. I did not appeal. I waited a while and reapplied attaching my old used passport with used visas, Stamped Residence permits and entry/exit stamps, property docs, multiple bank statements, pictures, Employment letter and many many more. I then wrote a detailed 2 page narrative clearly stating purpose of visit, current occupation, source of income, funds for the trip, Assets in Nigeria, travel history and Ties to Nigeria. With Subheading and paragraphs for each topic. I referenced all the attachments in the letter and enclosed a table of content and a table of Attachments

I got the visa

Please I just don't seem to understand Canadian embassy. I submitted my application September 8th and my application was treated 5th November which shows they didn't go through my application before deciding.....

Application refused with the following reasons:
Purpose of visit
Personal and Financial Assets.

Canada visa is truly luck oooooooo May God help us all, I have been refused early this year and I reapplied again 8th September but was sent a notification on Friday 6th November that my application is ready for pickup. Till Monday morning I hope it's good news this time around.......

To update you all. Visa granted till DEC 2016. It was God. This was after 2 denials first last year and the second this year may.

Actually this is my second time, the first time in 2013 was denied on a technicality. I wrote a very clear 2 page letter of purpose and attached bank statements, marriage and kid's birth certificates, letter from employer, pictureso of recent overseas holiday with my family, used boarding passes and old passport with study permit and used visas

The reason I'm asking is that my sister applied in the first week in august and got a message yesterday that her processed passport is ready for collection. There no likely message for successful or unsuccessful till you pick and see the contents.

Peak period is between May to September(summer) Off peak are all other months apart from these. But other things can also influence volume of applications received by CIC, like groups going for conferences, conventions and so on, you also have festivals like Christmas(December) which may also attract more applicants.

It is usually 10 to 15 working days in what is called off pick period, it all depends on the ECO handling your file

When they are receiving high volume of work, they may be a delay in returning Passports.

I applied for trv for a relative in July, and the processing took about 2 months. I applied for another relative this September and it took just about two weeks.

Hi every one, l arrived in canny sept 7th...but lemme give you guys a break down on my experience so far.

At the airport(9ja), l carried overload(ladies we just love overload) but was lucky it was biz class but l still paid for an extra piece, u need to see begging...lol, paid 29k as opposed to 60k lol(was lucky they accepted payments in N).

Then my experience at the point of entry, it wasn't rily a big deal...they just asked my purpose of visit, if l'v paid my fees and y l was refused b4 and told d officer abt d biometrics thing. Wasn't tough.

Then my experience in canny so far hv been awesome, l got my SIN, a new phone(my oda phn wasn't comparable), Sim card & opened a bank acct all in one day(was a stressful day though) 'cos l had orientation sm day.

Then this is to TRV hopefuls, y'all are next, just keep on b'n optimistic and prayerful after packaging ur app well.

Canny is so worth it, very peaceful, loving and happy peep all around. #whr l am is filled with so many foreigners, so mks things easier.

SOP -> Statement of Purpose, aka Letter of Intent aka Letter of Explanation or whatever else you might wish to call it.

You can notarize a document at a high court. If you are in Lagos, go to Ikeja High Court or the one at Igbosere on Lagos Island.

Boss so sorry for disturbing you please kindly help to list the documents which I can notarize and would love to get a sample of a good SOP pleaseeeeeeeeee.

What is the purpose of your travel to Canada? Did you submit an SOP with your first application?

In any case, I recommend you attach to your next visiting visa application a strong SOP explaining and clarifying (with proof) the issues the visa officer believed you did not answer truthfully. This is highly important.

Include every proof you can find about the boutique you run, including CAC docs (if available) and tax certificates). Use notarized copies if they dont accept originals.

Please what's SOP and where can I notarize cos I think someone posted they don't accept original copies anymore...
I did include CAC, Yearly payment of Tax n Tax Card
