PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidency: North May Sanction Pro-jonathan Politicians by tawa89(f): 1:25pm On May 31, 2013
Who is this 'North'?. Don't these Northern Elders have jobs to do other than meeting everyday plotting how to send this country back 2 the stone ages we just got out from?huh?. I have never heard that these jobless mofos ever met to deliberate on Boko Haram and Terrorism in their region .They will never meet to condemn BH boys unanimously but they meet everyday to deliberate on 2015 Presidential Elections that is 2yrs away. In 2015 we are going to teach these 'Elders' that Nigeria is not the Personal Estate of Othman Dan Fodio.Nonsense!

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Refineries Roar Back To Life by tawa89(f): 1:24am On May 04, 2013
Great development i must say. I can confidently tell you that the CDU was producing at a 10% capacity all these years. The KHU and NHU units have not refined a single drop of crude for more than 13 years. Most operators in this area do nothing from year to year other than collect salaries and benefits. Most of them don't even know much about how to run the Units apart from textbook knowledge. You don't know how one feels when you call yourself a Nigerian and you are stuck in one of these units watching equipment worth billions rusting away. The past leaders of this country really messed up this country big time and to think that some of them are elder statesmen and some are even offering to come back and rule again is an insult to the intelligence of every right thinking Nigerian. I happened to be around when this project was started,i was sceptical initially but i was taken back by the pace of the work. The docile areas where torn apart and fixed ,even the troublesome compressor in NHU was fixed . The impact of this turn around will be felt by ordinary Nigerians.
Kudos to the Government .
PoliticsRe: Arewa Youths Reject FG’s N5.8bn Compensation For Post-election Violence by tawa89(f): 10:30am On Apr 26, 2013
Tolexander: mr man, i read the post.
What am saying is that why should they be compensated.
Compensation for this will call for more of this in the future cos they had already known they will be compensated.

Stop including some things that are out of the matter to gain cheap points. Corpers aren't among them. The families of the slain corpers in Bauchi have been compensated.
let me assume that you are really having genuine comprehension issues and not being mischievious here. The compensation is not for Arewa youths. It is for the victims of Post election violence in 2011. Victims like that Obinna dude *can't remember his surname* the youth corper that was hacked to death. The traders that got their shops burnt down . Churches and people that got permanently injured during the post election violence .
@ OP the Arewa youths should have several seats abeg the money is not for them.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Senators Allowances Revealed by tawa89(f): 7:04pm On Apr 14, 2013
Is Lai Mohammed aware of this information? Are ACN and CPC senators that portray themselves as the alternatives to thievery PDP collecting these monies? They scream and yell till they get elected, then they go in there to continue the status quo. Nigerians should wisen up. They are all the same people. They only act and scream 'corruption' up and down when they are out of power, immediately they get in ,they drop their pro-people and activism toga and begin to loot like there is no tomorrow. We ve never had it this bad. I will personally shoot any person that disturbs my life on how ACN/CPC is diFferent from PDP thieves .

P.S: Mallam Shekau is a coward. Boko haram is made up of Cowards. They go about bombing themselves and innocent people while these overfed thieves keep looting our commonwealth. If they had any iota of sense , NA complex will be their topmost target! Bomb these overfed baboons to smithereens !

Eko Ile: Story. This is about akwa and not lagos and if you feel like dragging lagos into it, I'll deal with you just with Fasholas work alone without anything before him.

Shebi apabio and fashola enter office at the same time? Do you feel like listing their work side by side. ? try me if you can because rant and talk is cheap.
did Fashola build an airport? What about a power station? I personally know 5 Akwa Ibomites that receive bursary from their State government every year. How many has Fashola given your younger brother? How many roads are tolled in Lagos? Its there any road been tolled in Akwa ibom? Akwa Ibom has the best E-library in the country which was built by Akpabio . How many has Fashola built? Even with the highest IGR in the country i don't think Fashola has done anything exceptional in Lagos. He inherited the former capital of Nigeria. Akpabio inherited Akwa Ibom. Thats the difference.

Eko Ile: So with the 3rd largest budget Nigeria and just less than 5 million people, development no reach beyond uyo and e no pass one page on NL...

private jet, luxury armored vans , marriage jamboree in Dubai, luxury jeeps for idibia and his baby mama, fake and phony e library that school kids still have to pay for to use...

akwa ibom people don suffer. smh...
why are you this hateful and tribal? Why good things dey pepper you for body ni? Why is it that you hate it when good things are happening in other parts of the country? This is beyond politics and tribalism. This is pure hatred for Nigeria. you are pissed that other parts of Nigeria are developing? Let me educate you a little . Lagos has been there even before the 'word' Nigeria was muted. Lagos has enjoyed special priviledges even before our independence. Lagos was federal colony . Lagos was capital territory for more dan 30 yrs. Lagos was the seat of power in Nigeria. How can you compare Lagos that has been everything in Nigeria with Uyo that has been nothing? One was a former colony, former capital and economic hub of Nigeria while the other was a former 'village' . If e dy pain cos of d developmental strides in Akwa Ibom kindly trek down to 3rd mainland bridge and do the needful.
PoliticsRe: Uyo - City Of Peace And Beauty (Pictures) by tawa89(f): 9:36pm On Apr 13, 2013
Definitely the best City in Nigeria. It edged out Enugu by the fact that this place was a village 13yrs ago. Great turn around i say. Turning 'village' uyo to a wordclass city with an international airport in just 13yrs is quite unprecedented in the annals of our history . I don't why people like Akpabio doesnt't come out for presidential elections . I may not agree with all his personal dispositions to political issues but anyone that argues the fact that Akpabio is the best Governor in Nigeria is a dunce*no offence

Science/TechnologyRe: Nigeria Is Among Science-Lagging Developing Countries by tawa89(f): 7:43am On Apr 11, 2013
Tony Spike: I have read some good contributions here. But, I would like to give a statistics on a recent report I saw at an IEEE conference. It was shown that over 90% of published African papers on the IEEE internet domain (known as IEEExplore) are jointly contributed by Egypt and South Africa. I was shocked to see that Nigeria contributed just about 2% to such a popular Engineering domain. This shows how backward we are in research output in Africa.

As much as people like Rossikk wants to deny the fact, Nigeria is at the bottom of the research ladder in Africa in science and technology. The leaders in Africa are Egypt and South Africa. South Africa, in particular, spends some crazy amount on research annually. They have the facilities and infrastructures to make it happen. No doubt, I agree that Nigerians are exceptionally gifted intellectually but we lack the environment, materials, funds and motivation. Hence, what we lack in infrastructure, we have in brain-power.

Today, there are millions of Nigerians who have made astounding discoveries and inventions in other countries. Infact, they are so many in number, you can start by googling the academic profile of Universities around the world. Unfortunately, many of our outstanding scientists and Engineers who trained outside the country, are unable to replicate such scientific culture here. The corrupt and superstitious Nigerian system is so messed up for them to replicate such feats here. I happen to be researching in an aspect of wireless communication. Sometimes, you are required to run parallel and complex computer programs for five days non-stop. How is that possible in a country with frequent power cuts? This is just one of the many reasons why Nigeria will continue to produce graduates for other developed countries.

On a brighter note, if the Nigerian system is overhauled by a serious government (not the current one), we can match any developed country in five years. All we need is increased budgetary allocations and proper developmental framework, this is enough to bring back millions of Nigerians in diaspora to jump-start the system. I was made to know that Nigeria was a strong research-base in Africa in the 70's, and up to mid-80's. We were the one of the foremost countries in African scholarship until that man called Babangida started ejecting foreign lecturers from our universities. Since then, our university rankings have plumetted to a ridiculous and unfathomable level. Hence, we have disconnected ourselves from the usual multicultural global university standards. I rest my case...
IBB finished this country.Nigerians are too timid. You need to see the way Brits treated Thatcher. IBB deserves worse than Thatcher's treatment IMO

Some people can't stop supporting evil. Government officials knew the land was Government property yet they took money from these poor people and issued them official papers transferring ownership of the land to them. When the weak and the poor are no longer protected in our society then i wonder what is the essence of having a government ? How can you even defend such wickedness? Why are we this wicked to ourselves in this country? Government won't provided low cost housing units to the masses, the masses sweat and bleed 2 build their houses only for one insensitive and overfed idiot to pull it down. Sango will locate these bastards one by one.

PoliticsRe: Western Media's Obsession With '$1 A Day' Nigerians. by tawa89(f): 10:58pm On Apr 04, 2013
ballabriggs: I am sorry, this shows extreme ignorance!

Who told you the statistics was derived by your "western media"? The last Poverty count by the National Bureau of Statistics (under the Presidency) put the rate at over 60%. So one will expect that you get a proper knowledge of how data is sourced before penning such a ridiculous article. The "western media" use data sources, perhaps you can also learn how to source data before penning such a ridiculous article.

Secondly you have not examined the methodology for data collection and processing but in an ignorant manner you have made reference to "nollywood" movies as to why it cannot be true.

Thirdly, I have seen people make reference to $1 or N155 per day as the basis of poverty. Fact is the study of poverty is more complex than just one figure.

We look at poverty in terms of vulnerability, poverty in terms of basic needs, capabilities, unjust deprivation. We look at poverty absolutely or relatively. People study poverty up to PhD level, do not stop there and you think one figure is enough to explain what poverty means?
you just love hearing bad things about Nigeria so that u can blame someone *most likely GEJ* . Who da Bleep studied poverty in Nigeria? How many people did they interview? Where did they get their figures from? You don't live in Nigeria so chill and wait for home based Nigerians to school you. Who even lives on $1? A day? Is it Dele d mechanic dude in Ogbomosho dat charges nothing less than 3k or more before touching your car? Is it my barber dat collects 500 naira for every haircut and there will be so much queu in his saloon? Is it Anu my tailor that collects 2k for a shirt?do u even know what $1 is? SMH. E no even reach 200 naira mtn airtime .If we were so poor MTN Etisalat GLO and others would ve closed shop since because people living below $2 a day wouldn't have been able to partronise them...there is huge purchasing power in Nigeria bro. Forget all these bogus figures flying here and there . Most of them are put up by people trying to get aids and grants from foreign countries. They dont represent whats on ground here bro. LMAO @ 157naira a day . Can that even buy a plate of eba and egusi soup with no meat in Mama onome shop?
