@MrBible, You mean tithe and prosperity teachers! You can't preach the Bible and not be a prosperity preacher. Can you support that God wants people to be poor from the Bible? In any case, I will not be drawn into your biases. The issue remains clear and you are yet to refute it by any cogent reasons from the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 9:14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel |
@MrBible, But the verses you quoted does not say that Jesus asked for money. What exactly is your point? The Bible is very clear that those who receive ministry must minister physical substance to their teachers. Whether he asked for it or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that his ministry was sustained by the giving of those he ministered to. How else do you think he met the needs of himself as well as the needs of his Disciples and by extension their families? |
@Enigma, Thanks jare. Yep, it was a self-imposed break from the section. I wasn't sure I was doing more good than harm with the constant arguing. These are issues of life and death and therefore must be approached with care and prayerfulness. I doubt I was doing both and the best thing was to take a break. |
@MrBible, as there is no where we are told that Jesus asked his followers for money.Have you ever read Mark 15:41? Mark 14: 40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; 41 (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem. And for those who who still want to argue, the same assertion is made with more clarity in Luke 8:3. Luke 8: 1 And it came to pass afterward , that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, 2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, 3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance . |
Fergie is a nervous wreck. See his hands shaking like crazy!!!!!!! |
Barca goalkeeper has not broken a sweat so far. He won't need to go to the shower after this game. |
Gooaalllllllllllllllllllllll |
Though nervous, Van Dar Saar is keeping Man Utd in this game. |
Van Dar Saar looks nervous. |

Rooney |
Barcelona 1 : Man Utd 0. And so the rout begins |
@topic, If he needs about two years to size up and sack people in his cabinet, shouldn't the people too have no more than four years to also size up and sack the president when he doesn't live up to billing? ![]() |
@topic, People don't need to look any further than nairaland to understand why the Mid East may never know peace. With leading characters as temperament and hard-headed as Ayatollah Ikomi, what hope is there for the region? Just like a leading Fatah cabinet member said that Netanyahu's address to US legislators was an act of war, we see a similar man of like passion here on nairaland treading the war path for the silliest of excuses. These followers of the religion of piss sha!!! |
@Ikomi, This is why it is difficult to have an intellectually robust discussion with you. So you are unaware that Gaza was under Egyptian rule in 1967 and that Israel actually took over the territory from an antagonistic neighbor? There was no act of deceit here. Again you start your argument from a wrong premise. Israel obtained that territory and others from neighbors that were amassing to wipe them out. If my neighbor builds a tower to take snipe shots at me in order to kill me and my children, it is not a theft if I chase him out of that tower and take it over until he renounces violence against me and mine. |
@topic, If the 1967 borders were the solution, why then was there a war between Isreal and her neighbors? So would Gaza go back under Egyptian control then? |
@Piper How do I reach you? |
Hi Guys, I will be in Lagos in 2 weeks. Let me have your phone numbers and I will get back to you personally. |
@Laajman, If all the madness was caused by a game between, say, Enyimba and Eko Babes, that would make a whole lot of sense.I do not live in Naija now and so unable to fathom the craze for European soccer as you claim. The statement in quote however got my attention. I believe Naija once had this sort of passion for local football. Does anyone remember the days of the intense rivalry between Abiola Babes and Leventis United? I dare say it mimicked what we now have between Barcelona and Real Madrid! |
@cap28, You're a joke! so in your mind its okay for NATO (america) to invade, bomb and kill innocent children? Are you a mind reader now? Where did I ever say it is okay for NATO to bomb and kill innocent children? It appears your drug induced hallucination is yet to wear out. Your hypocrisy stinks to high heavens, before you start bleating on about my mindset you better focus on the mindset of your criminal govt who are killing innocent people in libya, iraq and afghanistan and aiding and abetting the slaugher of palestinians by their puppets the zionist state of israel.Perhaps you should get off your high horse and take the same advice you are freely giving to me here. Why don't you focus on your government in the UK that can be accused of the same atrocities you so liberally charge at the US Government. What have you done about your own government in the UK? Last I checked, the UK is part of NATO and is actively supporting and participating in this war. the natural disasters plaguing america serve as a sign of worse things to come for all the evil they have been comitting around the world,So tell me, the earthquake that hit Haiti and the Tsunami in Japan, are those also the sign of worse things to come upon them due to the evil they have been committing around the world? you have the audacity to accuse me of having no respect for human life when your criminal govt is dropping tonnes of depleted uranium on a nation of people who did nothing to provoke such a barbaric act, you must be on drugs!!!!The difference between the two of us is that unlike you, I do not have wet dreams from wishing innocent people will die from natural disasters. Also unlike you, I do not wish ill on helpless citizens nor do I hold them responsible for the actions of their out of control government. |
cap28, I want the day of reckoning to come for america very soon because all these atrocities that they are committing around the world must be accounted for, these tornadoes hitting america are just the beginning, the coming economic collapse of their economy is jus the tip of the iceberg for them, i want them to feel the same pain that they have inflicted on libya and its people because it is run by a satanic cabal who have no regard for human life. This is the most despicable statement you've ever made. This kind of mindset reflects the same type that rejoiced on the streets during 911. People like you hide under the guise that you want justice but really, what we see here reflected is a very low value for human life. You mean the hundreds of people who died in South USA deserve what happened to them? You have revealed yourself for what you really are, a sadist that has no respect for human life and rejoices over the calamity of others! Shame on you!!! |
@Ogugua88, There's a huge difference between Afghanistan/Iraq and Libya though. Is there not?Afghanistan was a war of necessity. Iraq and Libya are not. If we are to believe what was said, Bush went into Iraq due to faulty intelligence from the CIA. Obama on the other hand went into Libya because of anticipated slaughter of "innocent civilians." If we go by Obama's doctrine, he would have invaded Iraq too because of Saddam's record of mass killing of civilians. One wonders why he is now looking the other way with Syria, who have killed more people during this protest than Gadaffi has killed in a much longer war. This just occurred to me now. Do you remember how Obama humiliated General Mcchrystal and forced a resignation from him for what is now revealed to be bogus claims and unfounded allegations? Bush never did that to anyone in uniform and was definitely not responsible for the attack on Kerry by his contemporaries. Kerry had it coming to him considering he disrespected people in uniform when he said those who don't go to school end up being stuck in Iraq! Since when is the president's info supposed to be available at hand? He shouldn't have to give out his birth certificate. He shouldn't have to give out his transcripts. If he was white, would he be scrutinized as much? Why are you saying this even in the face of contrary facts? McCain is White and yet his eligibility to be president was questioned. Bush was subjected to ridicule and was constantly caricatured as a silly and illiterate guy. Do you know that Bush had better grades in school than John Kerry? Your earlier post suggests you think otherwise. Bush and Kerry's grades were made public. You will find some information about that here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/columnist/benedetto/2005-06-10-benedetto_x.htm |
@ogugua88, True talk, you sabi write phlenty. I do enjoy them even though I cannot reciprocate due to limited time and pure laziness!! I see this John Kerry thing pain you no be small. But what has Bush got to do with it? It was John Kerry's companions and fellow soldiers that cast aspersion on his service. If you accuse Bush of not serving and sending people to war, you should be pointing same finger at Obama for his actions in Libya! As to Bush's mediocre educational history, I can only say one thing - at least we know his history. Have you asked yourself why Obama's scores are not available for public consumption unlike Bush's? Obama was said to be a Professor of constitutional law and we do not have one single paper that he wrote for review. Isn't that strange to you? If you subject Obama to the same scrutiny as Bush, you will see that Obama is actually getting a big pass. Bush was also painted as a monkey and there was a movie depicting him being assassinated. Can you imagine the outrage if someone did the same for Obama? This is nothing but political theatre. Get your popcorn, kick off your shoes and enjoy the viewing. It's political silly season! |
@A.D.M. Okay, I apologize for the insults. You're right, the insults were not necessary. My apologies. But the insults are the only things I'm aplogizing for. I stand by the rest of my statement.Oh my God. Just like Trump, I can boldly declare that I was able to get a nairalander to apologise for insulting another person. I have done a great service to humanity!!! Jokes aside, I have to commend you for doing the right thing. I hope cap28 will also follow suit and apologise for the insults. Your salient points are duly noted. I bear no grudge against you for your opinion. |
@topic, I must say, the only thing that surprised me about Obama's birth certificate is that it does not indicate that he was born in a manger! ![]() |
@A.D.M., You must think you are very smart by calling someone s.tupid, right? @cap28, I am not surprised that you have joined in the insult. Insulting others have brought about an alliance of two depraved minds. Knock yourselves out!! |
@topic, Congratulations to the Donald. He achieved what no one else could - get Obama to release his birth certificate. The Clintons tried to no avail, and Chris Matthews begged for it on national TV but none prevailed. More grease to yah elbows. Now we can move on to more important issues. @ogugua88, Obviously, that you are a citizen does not make you "naturally born". This is the center of the issue being discussed. Nobody said he or McCain were not citizens, the question was whether they were "naturally born". Obama has finally put this to rest to a great extent by producing his birth certificate. I doubt it cost him $100 to make this happen. If he could release his certificate of live birth and taxes publicly, why the reservation with the real deal? It appears this was all politics. Keeping his birth certificate away from public view worked for him politically until now. Public opinion has turned against his actions in that regard, hence the need by him to release the darn thing. @4Play, Conspiracy theories have a life of their own and are often impervious to facts and logic. It's a shame Americans are so misinformed that they think Obama was born in Kenya. For such a powerful country, it's citizens seem to be one of the most ignorant in the Western world.First I do not know if there was any traction to the news that he was born in Kenya. That notion may have been fed by information (true/false) that his paternal grandma said he was born there. The undeniable proof of being born in the US is a birth certificate. Obama just produced his after almost 4 years of public inquiry. No one can argue that he wasn't born in the US in the face of this legal document. |
and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
